Lindsey Busfield, co-owner of Optimize My Firm, a company specializing in SEO for law firms, speaks with Favour Obasi-ike on how to grow your business locally using search engine optimization. Lindsey Busfield recounts her unconventional journey into the SEO world, beginning with marketing for an Amish egg company before transitioning to legal marketing and eventually partnering to grow her current business. The discussion covers the increasing importance of SEO in the age of AI, strategies for ranking in Google's local pack, and the fundamental differences between SEO and social media marketing. She also emphasizes that effective SEO is an investment in long-term online visibility and lead generation, distinct from the immediate but finite impact of pay-per-click advertising, and offers advice on identifying the informational needs of potential clients.Frequently Asked Questions about Local SEO and Online Presence for Businesses1. How did you get started in the SEO industry, particularly focusing on legal SEO? My journey into SEO began somewhat unexpectedly with a family business involving Amish chicken farmers. I transitioned from teaching to handle marketing and business development for their egg company, helping it grow significantly. This experience ignited my passion for marketing. Later, I worked for a law firm where I learned the intricacies of SEO. I then met my current business partner, Len, who had an existing but smaller SEO business called Optimize My Firm. I joined him to organize and help grow the company, eventually focusing on providing specialized SEO services to law firms nationwide.2. With the rise of AI overviews and the potential for "zero-click" searches, how important is SEO for businesses looking for growth opportunities? SEO is exceptionally important in the age of AI overviews. While AI might provide immediate answers at the top of search results, these answers are being pulled from somewhere – credible and authoritative websites. Strong SEO principles, including comprehensive website content and quality backlinks, are crucial for positioning your website as a reliable source that Google (and other search engines) will use to generate these AI-powered answers. Therefore, SEO is the driving force behind getting your business to "write" the answer in the AI section and remain relevant in search results.3. What are the key factors that influence a business's ability to appear in the local pack on Google? Google primarily considers three main factors for local pack rankings, with a fourth important element: * Proximity: The physical location of your business relative to the user's search location is critical. Being closer to residential areas and further away from direct competitors can improve your chances. * Review Recency: Consistent and recent positive reviews are essential. Google values fresh feedback and is wary of purchased or sudden surges in reviews. * Business Name: Strategically incorporating relevant keywords into your business name (sometimes through a "doing business as" or DBA filing) can help trigger visibility for specific searches. * Organic SEO Ranking: If your website ranks well organically on the first page of Google for relevant keywords, you have a significantly higher likelihood of also appearing in the local pack.>> Contact Optimize my Firm for your SEO needs here

As the executive director of the New Zealand Marine Industry Association, Peter Busfield helps promote his country's vast cruising and service offerings to superyacht owners, guests, and crew worldwide. During the pandemic, of course, that became tremendously difficult, since New Zealand kept its international borders shut. With the sea border about to re-open--in August--several superyachts are making plans to return. In this episode of Megayacht News Radio, Peter discusses how New Zealand superyacht marinas and service providers have made several significant improvements, to handle more business. He also shares some of his personal favorite places to enjoy superyacht cruising, which we all should put on our bucket lists.

Jotham Busfield is today's guest and we met as we are both passionate about the Psychedelics Anonymous NFT project. Jotham's experience as a Mental Health professional combined with being an active web 3.0 contributor was a no-brainer to have him on the podcast. We discuss a wide-range of topics including: - The state of Mental Health in 2022 - Web 3.0 trends and conversations around Mental Health - Should NFT projects have mental health channels - What does it mean to create a safe space? - What we can do to avoid making things worse as non-professionals in mental health - How long before mental health professionals adopt to web 3.0 - What are some of the things we can do as advocates and alias in mental health - What about Psychedelics Anonymous makes it a unique and stand out NFT project - The metaverse and mental health where is the overlap and where is the wishful thinking? I feel this conversation is vital to have an one of the biggest takeaways was even as a professional in this space Jotham stressed the importance of not falling for the false belief that web 3.0 is the technology to drive mental health change rather what web 3.0 enables should help facilitate and open up more mental health conversations. A coroner wants a harder line from the Ministry of Transport on the issue of drunk boating. Sue Johnson has released her findings on the death of a Southland man who died in a jet boat accident in 2019. The Jet boat driver would have been well over the legal blood alcohol limit if he was behind the wheel of a car, but there is no equivalent legal requirement for boating, and the coroner says and this needs to be reviewed. Executive Director of the Marine Industry Association Peter Busfield says he's not sure additional legislation is the answer. He says the current education approach is working.LISTEN ABOVE

In 1992, the director of "Field of Dreams," Phil Alden Robinson, made a film called "Sneakers" with a far-fetched plot about an unconstitutional secret NSA domestic surveillance system designed solely for the purpose of spying on unsuspecting American citizens. It’s a relief that nothing like that could ever happen in real life. Robert Redford plays a wisecracking cool guy with a secret past who leads a ragtag bunch of misfits who specialize in breaking into seemingly impenetrable buildings. Sidney Poitier plays a hot-tempered former CIA agent who is hellbent on scoring an all-expense paid vacation to Tahiti. Dan Aykroyd plays himself, a raving mad conspiracy theorist who somehow manages to be likable despite his unsettling eccentricities. David Strathairn (however you pronounce his name) plays a blind hacker with superhuman hearing and Holmesian powers of deduction. And, River Phoenix is in this movie behaving oddly. There's also a corny sub-plot where Mary McDonnell plays Robert Redford’s ex-girlfriend who he’s attempting to reconcile with while simultaneously using her as a pawn to execute his perilous caper. And last but not least, Sir Ben Kingsley plays a meek computer genius who gets hired by the mafia as their accountant while he's in prison. As you would expect, he manages to rise through the ranks of the mob and manages to become their Chief Technology Officer and becomes evil along the way. Join us as we try to figure out if River Phoenix was ever a good actor, discuss which famous actor in this used to be a clown, and try to unravel this labyrinth of a plot with more holes in it than Swiss cheese. If you build it (a baseball field for ghosts who were banned from the major leagues for cheating) and you kidnap a civil rights activist, he (the ghost of your estranged dad) will come. As a fringe benefit, a bunch of sightseers will also show up so you can turn your home into a profitable tourist trap. The elaborate 1989 séance/time travel film, "Field of Dreams," was nominated for three Oscars, including Best Picture, and is said to make grown men cry. It certainly made us cry, but for different reasons. Kevin Costner plays Ray Kinsella, a schizophrenic farmer with major daddy issues who bankrupts his family by following the instructions he receives from the voices in his head. Ray Liotta plays the ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson, a sympathetic specter of the disgraced baseball legend. The film's version of Shoeless Joe ignores the fact that he was a left-handed batter, and it also ignores his characteristic dull-wittedness in favor of some sort of sage-like omniscience mixed in with weird maniacal hatred of Ty Cobb. James Earl Jones plays Terence Mann, a '60s civil rights activist and author who has given up on the world and become a curmudgeonly recluse. After being kidnapped, Jones gets Stockholm syndrome and also somehow catches Kevin Costner’s schizophrenia because he too starts hearing voices. He also ends up becoming a ghost or something. Join us as we wonder why there would be ghost umpires at this baseball field, if the old doctor was cheating on his wife, and why this movie's hashtag should be "#MAGA."
