Emmy winning actor and director Timothy Busfield is facing serious criminal charges in New Mexico following allegations involving two child actors he worked with on the Fox series The Cleaning Lady. Prosecutors have charged Busfield with two counts of criminal sexual misconduct against a minor and one count of child abuse. He has denied all allegations and maintains his innocence.According to court documents, investigators allege Busfield encouraged the twins to call him Uncle Tim, gave them gifts, and spent time with their family outside of filming. Prosecutors say he used moments of confusion on set to isolate the boys. One child reportedly disclosed that inappropriate contact began when he was seven years old, describing incidents that allegedly occurred on a bedroom set after filming paused. The second twin reported similar discomfort but said he did not speak up at the time.Authorities cite therapy notes, medical evaluations, behavioral changes, and witness statements as part of the evidence supporting the charges. Prosecutors have also referenced prior allegations spanning decades, though none previously resulted in criminal convictions.Busfield surrendered to authorities in January 2026 and was ordered held without bail. His defense team says the accusations are retaliatory after the children were written out of the show and claims he passed an independent polygraph test.As the case moves forward, the court will decide whether the evidence supports the charges. Until then, the allegations remain unproven, and the outcome could have major implications for accountability and child safety in the entertainment industry.

It's Wednesday, January 14th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Most dangerous countries for Christians: The 2026 Red List Global Christian Relief released its 2026 Red List of the world's most dangerous countries to be a Christian. The report verified nearly 2,000 Christians were killed between November 2023 and October 2025. The country with the most killings of Christians was Nigeria. The country with the most violence and intimidation against churches was Rwanda. China led with the most arrests and sentences of Christians. Mozambique saw the most displacement of believers. And Mexico had the most abductions of Christians. Other dangerous countries for Christians included the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Russia, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Psalm 37:14-15 says, “The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct. Their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.” Trump threatens Nigeria with more military strikes Speaking of Nigeria, the country could see more military strikes from the United States if violence against Christians continues. On Christmas Day last month, the U.S. launched deadly strikes in Nigeria against militants linked with the Islamic State. U.S. President Donald Trump told The New York Times last Thursday, “I'd love to make it a one-time strike. But if they continue to kill Christians it will be a many-time strike.” Listen to President Trump's warning last November. TRUMP: “I'm hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians.” Texas banned tax-funded abortion travel Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed victory last Friday in a case against San Antonio's abortion travel fund. The city established its so-called “Reproductive Justice Fund” last year to support women traveling to other states to kill their unborn babies. However, Texas subsequently passed a law to ban such funding. Attorney General Paxton commented on the case. He said, “I will always do everything in my power to prevent radicals from manipulating the system to murder innocent babies. … San Antonio's unlawful attempt to cover the travel and other expenses for out-of-state abortions has now officially been defeated.” Trump wants to ban institutional investors in single-family homes President Donald Trump is calling for Congress to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes. Such investors have acquired thousands of single-family homes since the 2008 financial crisis. President Trump hopes his ban on institutional investors would make single-family homes more affordable. The median price for an existing home hit a record $435,300 last year. On Truth Social, he wrote, “People live in homes, not corporations.” More immigrants left America than entered in 2025 A report by the Brookings Institute estimates that more immigrants left the U.S. than entered it last year. The report suggests net migration fell by anywhere from 10,000 to 295,000 in 2025. Actor Timothy Busfield arrested on child sex abuse charges NewsNation has confirmed that Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield has surrendered to law enforcement after an arrest warrant was issued last week amid allegations of sexual abuse involving minors in New Mexico. According to a criminal complaint, two young actors allege that Busfield, age 68, touched them inappropriately while on set filming the Fox series “The Cleaning Lady” from 2022 to 2024, where Busfield was an Executive Producer. The court documents detail a pattern of grooming, where Busfield would allegedly shower the children with gifts and praise, while also kissing and fondling the boys in a bedroom on set. They were 7 and 8 years old at the time. Record high of U.S. independents A new Gallup survey found a record-high 45 percent of U.S. adults identified as political independents last year. The last time that Americans were evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats was 2005. Since then, identification with Republicans and Democrats has dwindled to 27 percent each. The rise of political independents comes as younger generations are less likely to identify with a party. However, slightly more Americans still lean Democrat than Republican. Christian homeless shelter allowed to hire like-minded staff And finally, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled unanimously in favor of Union Gospel Mission last Tuesday. The Christian homeless shelter in Washington state serves anyone but only hires employees who agree with their religious beliefs. A state anti-discrimination law would have required the mission to hire people who did not align with their beliefs. So, the mission challenged the law with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom. Jeremiah Galus, Senior Counsel with the Christian legal group, said, “Yakima Union Gospel Mission exists to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through its homeless shelter, addiction-recovery programs, outreach efforts, meal services, and health clinics. The Ninth Circuit correctly ruled that the First Amendment protects the mission's freedom to hire fellow believers who share that calling.” Hebrews 13:16 says, “But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, January 14th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Mastering SEO for Law Firms: Insights from Lindsey Busfield of Optimize My Firm
In this episode, Steve Fretzin and Lindsey Busfield discuss:The nuances and strategic use of SEO for law firm marketingThe importance of selective client intake for long-term successEvaluating the effectiveness of social media versus SEO in legal marketingUtilizing modern website tools and AI-driven bots for better client engagement Key Takeaways:SEO can be a game-changer, but only for firms in the right geographic and competitive conditions—others should consider niche targeting or different marketing strategies entirely.Social media rarely drives real case volume for law firms, unless it's used with intention, high-quality content, and deep community alignment.Choosing the right clients is just as important as hiring the right team, because poor client fit leads to burnout, financial issues, and strained relationships.Website platforms should match your marketing goals, with WordPress offering the best SEO flexibility, while simpler tools like Squarespace are fine for credibility-focused sites. "I have never talked to a lawyer who has said, 'Yes, I am getting half of my caseload through social media because it's so great.' That being said, social media can be really helpful as part of a grassroots campaign." — Lindsey Busfield Got a challenge growing your law practice? Lindsey Busfield, co-owner of Optimize My Firm, a company specializing in SEO for law firms, speaks with Favour Obasi-ike on how to grow your business locally using search engine optimization. Lindsey Busfield recounts her unconventional journey into the SEO world, beginning with marketing for an Amish egg company before transitioning to legal marketing and eventually partnering to grow her current business. The discussion covers the increasing importance of SEO in the age of AI, strategies for ranking in Google's local pack, and the fundamental differences between SEO and social media marketing. She also emphasizes that effective SEO is an investment in long-term online visibility and lead generation, distinct from the immediate but finite impact of pay-per-click advertising, and offers advice on identifying the informational needs of potential clients.Frequently Asked Questions about Local SEO and Online Presence for Businesses1. How did you get started in the SEO industry, particularly focusing on legal SEO? My journey into SEO began somewhat unexpectedly with a family business involving Amish chicken farmers. I transitioned from teaching to handle marketing and business development for their egg company, helping it grow significantly. This experience ignited my passion for marketing. Later, I worked for a law firm where I learned the intricacies of SEO. I then met my current business partner, Len, who had an existing but smaller SEO business called Optimize My Firm. I joined him to organize and help grow the company, eventually focusing on providing specialized SEO services to law firms nationwide.2. With the rise of AI overviews and the potential for "zero-click" searches, how important is SEO for businesses looking for growth opportunities? SEO is exceptionally important in the age of AI overviews. While AI might provide immediate answers at the top of search results, these answers are being pulled from somewhere – credible and authoritative websites. Strong SEO principles, including comprehensive website content and quality backlinks, are crucial for positioning your website as a reliable source that Google (and other search engines) will use to generate these AI-powered answers. Therefore, SEO is the driving force behind getting your business to "write" the answer in the AI section and remain relevant in search results.3. What are the key factors that influence a business's ability to appear in the local pack on Google? Google primarily considers three main factors for local pack rankings, with a fourth important element: * Proximity: The physical location of your business relative to the user's search location is critical. Being closer to residential areas and further away from direct competitors can improve your chances. * Review Recency: Consistent and recent positive reviews are essential. Google values fresh feedback and is wary of purchased or sudden surges in reviews. * Business Name: Strategically incorporating relevant keywords into your business name (sometimes through a "doing business as" or DBA filing) can help trigger visibility for specific searches. * Organic SEO Ranking: If your website ranks well organically on the first page of Google for relevant keywords, you have a significantly higher likelihood of also appearing in the local pack.>> Contact Optimize my Firm for your SEO needs here

A coroner wants a harder line from the Ministry of Transport on the issue of drunk boating. Sue Johnson has released her findings on the death of a Southland man who died in a jet boat accident in 2019. The Jet boat driver would have been well over the legal blood alcohol limit if he was behind the wheel of a car, but there is no equivalent legal requirement for boating, and the coroner says and this needs to be reviewed. Executive Director of the Marine Industry Association Peter Busfield says he's not sure additional legislation is the answer. He says the current education approach is working.LISTEN ABOVE

In 1992, the director of "Field of Dreams," Phil Alden Robinson, made a film called "Sneakers" with a far-fetched plot about an unconstitutional secret NSA domestic surveillance system designed solely for the purpose of spying on unsuspecting American citizens. It’s a relief that nothing like that could ever happen in real life. Robert Redford plays a wisecracking cool guy with a secret past who leads a ragtag bunch of misfits who specialize in breaking into seemingly impenetrable buildings. Sidney Poitier plays a hot-tempered former CIA agent who is hellbent on scoring an all-expense paid vacation to Tahiti. Dan Aykroyd plays himself, a raving mad conspiracy theorist who somehow manages to be likable despite his unsettling eccentricities. David Strathairn (however you pronounce his name) plays a blind hacker with superhuman hearing and Holmesian powers of deduction. And, River Phoenix is in this movie behaving oddly. There's also a corny sub-plot where Mary McDonnell plays Robert Redford’s ex-girlfriend who he’s attempting to reconcile with while simultaneously using her as a pawn to execute his perilous caper. And last but not least, Sir Ben Kingsley plays a meek computer genius who gets hired by the mafia as their accountant while he's in prison. As you would expect, he manages to rise through the ranks of the mob and manages to become their Chief Technology Officer and becomes evil along the way. Join us as we try to figure out if River Phoenix was ever a good actor, discuss which famous actor in this used to be a clown, and try to unravel this labyrinth of a plot with more holes in it than Swiss cheese. If you build it (a baseball field for ghosts who were banned from the major leagues for cheating) and you kidnap a civil rights activist, he (the ghost of your estranged dad) will come. As a fringe benefit, a bunch of sightseers will also show up so you can turn your home into a profitable tourist trap. The elaborate 1989 séance/time travel film, "Field of Dreams," was nominated for three Oscars, including Best Picture, and is said to make grown men cry. It certainly made us cry, but for different reasons. Kevin Costner plays Ray Kinsella, a schizophrenic farmer with major daddy issues who bankrupts his family by following the instructions he receives from the voices in his head. Ray Liotta plays the ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson, a sympathetic specter of the disgraced baseball legend. The film's version of Shoeless Joe ignores the fact that he was a left-handed batter, and it also ignores his characteristic dull-wittedness in favor of some sort of sage-like omniscience mixed in with weird maniacal hatred of Ty Cobb. James Earl Jones plays Terence Mann, a '60s civil rights activist and author who has given up on the world and become a curmudgeonly recluse. After being kidnapped, Jones gets Stockholm syndrome and also somehow catches Kevin Costner’s schizophrenia because he too starts hearing voices. He also ends up becoming a ghost or something. Join us as we wonder why there would be ghost umpires at this baseball field, if the old doctor was cheating on his wife, and why this movie's hashtag should be "#MAGA."
