Two entrepreneurs are bringing Kiwi ingenuity to the world stage. Dan Wallace and Anthony Clyde, co-founders of Velduro, have won gold at the 33rd Annual China International Bicycle Fair. Their ‘super light carbon' e-bike beat out 600 other bikes for the prize. Wallace told Mike Hosking they entered the bike in February in the hope they would get some recognition and to put New Zealand on a bit of a stage. He says they found out the day they arrived that they'd won an award – and he got to stand up on stage surrounded by some pretty big leaders in the industry. As a computer scientist, Sheba has spent the last 20 years working in a technical software role with the quality department of pharmaceutical and life science companies. Her role spans from pre-sales technical information to professional services post-sale with the goal of digitizing critical data that can affect patient safety. She speaks regularly at industry conferences on data integrity and contamination control strategies for aseptic drug manufacturers. She was recently President of non-profit organization – the Parenteral Drug Association, SouthernCalifornia Chapter – for an elected term of 2 years. It is an educational organization dedicated to the connection of science, people, and regulation in a non-bias platform. In June of 2006, Dr. Dan Wallace diagnosed Sheba with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Nephritis following struggles with frequent fevers, joint/muscle pain, debilitating fatigue, visibly swollen lymph nodes, and hair loss. Born and raised in Montréal, she soon moved to Southern California to be closer to her family and support system. After grappling with the side effects of strong medications and some tough love counseling from her sister, she started to take her health into her own hands and has spent the last decade avidly reading and educating herself on Lupus and optimal health. Today, Sheba lives in Santa Monica and leads a very active lifestyle as a certified yoga instructor, scuba diver, tennis player, skier, beach volleyball player, runner, and global adventure traveler. She is now working to give back to the community and advocate for Lupus.

Clark and Barton sit down to talk swimming, preparation for big meets, how his parents influenced his success, and much more. More on Clark SmithClark Smith is a 6'9″ freestyle and butterfly specialist and student-athlete at the University of Texas. Born April 17, 1995 in Atlanta, Ga., Smith had the ability to be a great swimmer within his genes – his parents, John and Tori, also swam for Texas and his mother was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team. Smith came within .04 seconds of breaking the National High School record in the 100 butterfly, an event he was on the USA Swimming Junior National Team for. University of Texas2013-2014In his freshman season Smith swam at the Big 12 Championships, placing fourth in the 500-yard freestyle, fourth in the 200-yard butterfly and sixth in the 100-yard butterfly.The 500-yard free was Smith's first event at NCAA's, and he immediately made a statement. Smith qualified for the championship final first coming out of the preliminary heats. In the final, Smith took out the first 200 yards in 1:38.02, a quick 200-yard free time in itself, and he held on until Florida's Dan Wallace took over the lead at the 350-yard mark. But it was Smith's last 50 yards that pulled him away — he out-split Wallace 24.03 to 25.28 to win his first national championship.Smith then took on the 200-yard free — he qualified for the semi-final, and finished 11th overall just 0.41 seconds behind the heat's winer. On the same night Smith led off the 800-yard free relay for Texas that took 8th. For his final individual event of the meet Smith took on the 200-yard fly, an event that was largely expected to be won by Texas. Three Texas athletes qualified for the championship final in the 200-yard fly, including Smith. Texas went 1-2 in the event, but Smith unfortunately was disqualified for a one-hand touch in the championship final of the event.2015-2016At the Big 12 Championships Clark won the 1,650 in a new school and Big 12 record of 14:31.29. He also was a member of the Texas 800 yard freestyle relay that took gold and finished 4th in the 500 yard freestyle. At the NCAA meet, Clark didn't enjoy the same success as his sophomore year. As the defending champion and top seed in the 500 yard freestyle, Clark didn't manage to reach the finals, finishing 21st in the prelims. He was also the top seed in the mile but finished 12th in the prelims.2016 Rio Olympic GamesIn his first Olympic Games, Smith earned a gold medal for his heat swim in the 800 meter freestyle relay. He lead the team off with a 1:47.20 split. Smith, Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and Ryan Lotche combined in a time of 7:06.74 to put Team USA through to the final in second position.2017 World ChampionshipsOn day one Smith missed out on the 400 meter freestyle final after finishing 12th in 3:47.12. Two days later was back in action in the 800 meter freestyle where he finished 10th in the heats in 7:51.83. In his final swim, Smith won a bronze medal. It came in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay where Smith swam in the heats to put Team USA through to the final in 7th. Dr. Dan Wallace is a world renowned expert of New Testament Greek and the author of the highly acclaimed textbook: Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics, which is the standard textbook used in most second year Greek courses. Synopsis Biblical Literacy Snapshots of Jesus 04/24/2022 Mark Interviews Bill Mounce and Dan Wallace Bill and Dan were childhood friends and lived and took very different paths In their careers, as Greek Scholars, and both were joined together as members of the NIV Translation Committee. They discussed that journey in some detail, which included how each of them were led to the Lord. Bill and Dan discussed why they wanted to learn Greek. Both have PHD's and are very well versed and very well known for their work in translating original manuscripts from Greek to English. Both discussed their reason for pursuing Greek translation as a life long career. Bill has written a book titled “Basics of Biblical Greek” which has sold over a half a million copies. They discussed in a very specific way how verses of the bible are translated and the difficulty of deciphering the meaning of Greek translations into English Bible Versions, NIV, ESV, and KJV for example. They discussed this with respect to John 1:1, Luke 2:14, Matthew 6:13 and others. The lesson was enlightening and motivated us to study the Bible and do our best to understand the meaning of the message therein.

Safety - Last week 3 blow overs, all were empty and in transit - If weather conditions are not good, we want you to get off the road - East/West highway with a North/South wind- trailer behind you acts like a kite, especially on wide open spaces Freight - Holiday week- satisfied with freight this week with the impact of Good Friday and Easter - Normal for us to have a small lull in the week or two after Easter - Awaiting grill and fresh produce season- coming soon! - We will be very busy rolling into summer - Next week OTR has a review from a customer/driver/Hirschbach standpoint to work on our network Equipment - Have started to receive new equipment- 9 Freightliners this week and 9 more next week - New Navistar's come the end of May - 2018 trailers are going to start coming out of the fleet and new ones will start to be incorporated - 2019 Kenworth's and 2019 Navistar's are next to be turned over in the fleet Inspections at KC and EDU - Inspection bays are being installed in KC and EDU- we have listened to our drivers and hear you loud and clear that equipment needs to be inspected. We are modifying the yards to implement this procedure - If you have a question, please ask the right sources instead of blasting on social media. Today's program came to you live from Las Vegas, Nevada -where it is quite windy today--. Our first Road Trip DL in a while, but we won't be home for about three weeks, so, get used to it- Addressed some comments from Dan Wallace about the Father -forsaking- the Son on the cross -the old Psalm 22 quotation issue-, even looking at some textual critical issues related to the account in Mark. Then I addressed the issues that came up after the last DL relating to my exchange with Pastor Steve Meister and the whole philosophy-theology discussion going on in our day. We might be able to get a program in on Thursday, but it is a travel day, and it is more likely that we will be able to do one on Friday.
