Send us Fan MailDid you know that up to 80% of physical health complaints are linked to stress and anxiety? What if being stuck in fight-or-flight mode is the very thing preventing the changes you're trying to make?In this episode of the Autonomic Homeostasis Activation (AHA) Podcast, Tom Pals and Ruth Lorensson explore the sympathetic nervous system, the neuroscience of stress, and why chronic nervous system activation can keep us trapped in patterns of anxiety, hypervigilance, exhaustion, and reactivity.Far from being the enemy, the sympathetic nervous system is a brilliantly designed protective mechanism. The challenge is that modern life—24-hour news cycles, social media, political uncertainty, work pressures, and constant stimulation—can keep this system activated long after a genuine threat has passed.Tom and Ruth unpack the difference between reacting and responding, why real transformation requires access to the parasympathetic nervous system, and what it actually means to be stuck in survival mode. Ruth also shares her personal experience of hypervigilance following a serious injury and the intentional practices she has used to help her nervous system rediscover safety. In this episode:• What the sympathetic nervous system actually does• The real meaning of "sympathetic" — and why it has nothing to do with sympathy• Why fight or flight is protective, not the problem• How hypervigilance keeps us stuck in survival mode• Why chronic stress impacts both physical and emotional health• Managing versus adapting — and why only one creates lasting change• Practical tools for nervous system regulation, including breathwork, grounding, and intentional recovery• Why intentionality matters in today's stress-saturated worldIf you're interested in neuroscience, nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, trauma recovery, stress healing, anxiety, or the mind-body connection, this episode offers a practical and compassionate framework for understanding how the body responds to stress—and how lasting change becomes possible.About the AHA PodcastThe Autonomic Homeostasis Activation Podcast explores neuroscience, emotional resilience, trauma recovery, nervous system regulation, stress healing, and whole-person wellbeing. Through conversations with researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders, we examine how the brain and body work together to support health, healing, and human flourishing.New to AHA? In part two of our Colombia conversation, Caro from Colombian Foodie takes us deeper into the culture — past the well-known dishes and into the food that shapes daily life. We talk about the role soup plays at every meal (yes, even when it's 30 degrees out), the street food scene from Cali to the coast, and the nightlife food culture that ends with a bowl of consommé at 4am.We also get into something that doesn't come up enough: Colombian fruit. Caro introduces me to chontaduro — a fruit that smells a little funky, has the texture of a potato, and apparently tastes incredible with salt and honey. And then there's the fact that Colombia has over 2,000 fruit varieties, many of which are still being rediscovered. There's a whole movement around it, and honestly it deserves its own episode. We close out with holiday food traditions, the unexpected universality of Russian salad, indigenous and African food influences, and Caro's genuinely difficult answer to the last meal question. Part 2 delivers.
What if your electrical assets weren't just infrastructure — but strategic business drivers? In this episode, Berend Booms sits down with Matthew Wise, VP & Head of Strategy and Business Development at ABB Electrification Service, to unpack why the shift from input-based to outcome-based asset management is reshaping entire industries.Matt brings sharp insight from ABB's frontline — managing over 80 million assets across 50+ countries — on how converging technologies like AI, predictive analytics, and real-time monitoring are moving organizations from reactive maintenance to true system orchestration. What we cover:Why traditional service contracts are no longer fit for purposeWhere AI is genuinely adding value — and where it's falling shortHow to align sustainability and performance as complementary goalsThe organizational silos quietly killing asset optimizationWhat resilience looks like in an increasingly unpredictable worldIf you work in asset-intensive industries — this is essential listening.

Text us your thoughts on the episode or the show! What happens when you throw out a nearly finished $500K rebrand… and rebuild it in two months for $22K?In this episode of Ops Cast, Michael Hartmann sits down with Michael Yehoshua, CMO at WiseStamp, to discuss a decision that most marketing leaders would never make and why it worked.Michael walked into an 18-month rebrand that looked polished on the surface but was fundamentally disconnected from real customer insight. Instead of finishing it, he scrapped the entire effort and rebuilt the brand using AI in a completely different way. What followed was not just a faster rebrand, but a change in how decisions get made. From analyzing customer conversations for emotional signals to rethinking how content is structured for LLM-driven discovery. This conversation challenges many of the assumptions behind traditional marketing, SEO, and brand strategy. This is not a tools discussion. It is about how marketing and operations teams need to rethink data, signals, and decision-making in an AI-shaped environment.Topics covered include:• Why a nearly complete $500K rebrand was scrapped• How AI was used to listen to customers instead of just generating content• What analyzing tone, intent, and “aha moments” reveals beyond transcripts• How Marketing Ops teams should think about capturing new types of signals• Why optimizing for LLMs is different from optimizing for traditional search• The shift in content, backlinks, and site structure for AI-driven discovery• Why traffic can drop while conversions improve• What metrics matter when traditional SEO signals become less reliable• Why brand may become more important, not less, in an AI-first worldIf you are in Marketing Ops, RevOps, or growth, this episode forces a hard rethink. Today's podcast is a really special one because we're diving into the topic of healthy fertility, pregnancy, and birth with Lauren Keller. Lauren is a nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife, and complex chronic illness specialist who has delivered more babies than she can count. But the work she does today is deeply shaped by her own personal healing journey. In her mid-twenties, Lauren went from being a healthy, active medical provider to suddenly becoming severely ill. Over the next several years she received a long list of diagnoses including multiple sclerosis, Lyme disease, mold toxicity, POTS, heavy metal toxicity, endometriosis, nervous system dysregulation, and infertility. She saw more than twenty doctors across both traditional and functional medicine, tried aggressive treatment protocols, and yet continued to get sicker. For nearly two decades she also struggled with unexplained infertility, despite being a women's health provider and midwife herself.Eventually Lauren discovered that a hidden dental cavitation infection was creating chronic immune stress in her body. After having cavitation surgery, something remarkable happened. Her fertility returned after almost twenty years of infertility, and she was finally able to conceive. That experience completely changed the way she understood health.Instead of chasing diagnoses or symptom-based protocols, Lauren began focusing on how to restore the body's terrain and its innate capacity to heal. Through years of study and personal experimentation, she found that the true foundations of healing often lie in mineral balance, nervous system regulation, mitochondrial health, detoxification, quantum biology, and supporting the body as an integrated system rather than isolated symptoms.Today Lauren combines her background in midwifery, functional medicine, mineral balancing, peptides, and mind-body medicine to guide women through preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum in a way that honors the body's intelligence. In this conversation we talk about:• Why fertility is really a reflection of whole-body health• The foundational things that matter before conception• What many women are missing when it comes to preparing for pregnancy• How mineral balance, circadian biology, and nervous system health influence fertility• And what it actually looks like to support a healthy pregnancy and birth in today's worldIf you're someone thinking about getting pregnant, currently pregnant, or simply wanting to understand how to support your body's reproductive health at a deeper level, this conversation will give you a completely different lens on fertility and birth.https://www.twopurplecarrots.com/https://www.instagram.com/twopurplecarrots/https://www.instagram.com/the.fem.design/

In this week's message from James 3:13–4:12, we explore How to Walk in Wisdom and discover that true wisdom is not displayed through power, status, or self-promotion, but through humility and peace. James contrasts earthly wisdom — fueled by envy and selfish ambition — with the wisdom that comes from above, which is pure, gentle, merciful, and peace-making.Using the story of Benedict Arnold, we see how unchecked pride and wounded ambition rarely explode all at once; instead, they quietly grow over time. What begins as comparison or disappointment can slowly turn into resentment, division, and spiritual drift. James warns the church that the greatest threats to our relationships and our witness often start internally — in the motives of the heart. In a culture shaped by comparison and competition, believers are called to live differently. Social media and daily life constantly tempt us to measure ourselves against others, focusing on what we don't have instead of trusting God's provision. James reminds us that envy and selfish ambition don't just damage relationships — they challenge God's wisdom and lead to disorder. But God offers a better way. Wisdom from above produces peace, gentleness, mercy, and spiritual stability. Instead of chasing influence or power, followers of Jesus are called to become peacemakers who cultivate environments where righteousness can grow. True spiritual maturity is seen not in winning arguments or getting our way, but in building unity and reflecting the character of Christ. This message also confronts our motives in prayer and desire. James asks hard questions about the source of conflict among believers, pointing us to the reality that many struggles begin with inward passions that seek self before God. Walking in wisdom means surrendering our ambitions, examining our motives, and aligning our hearts with God's purposes rather than worldly success. In this message, we explore:✔ The difference between earthly wisdom and wisdom from above✔ How envy and selfish ambition quietly damage relationships✔ Why comparison fuels discontent and bitterness✔ The connection between inner desires and outward conflict✔ God's call to pursue peace rather than power✔ How peacemaking cultivates spiritual growth and righteousness✔ The difference between sinful jealousy and God's righteous, loving jealousy✔ Living as a community that reflects God instead of the worldIf you've ever struggled with comparison, conflict, or the tension between ambition and humility, this message invites you to examine the posture of your heart. God's wisdom leads not to chaos, but to peace — and when we walk in His wisdom, our lives and communities begin to reflect His character.

We've been taught that business success comes from logic, prediction, and data-driven strategy. But what happens when uncertainty makes all of that break down?In this episode of The Value Creators Podcast, Hunter Hastings speaks with Angus Fletcher, author of Primal Intelligence, about why entrepreneurs don't succeed by predicting the future — but by creating it.Angus Fletcher is uniquely qualified to draw on both neuroscience and entrepreneurial theory, and to add perspective from a field he himself pioneered, story science. He runs a special research lab at Ohio State University called Project Narrative, and its insights have been applied in US Army Special Forces, NASA, Hollywood and Silicon Valley. Angus explains how the human brain is designed for uncertainty, not optimization, and why intuition, imagination, emotion, and judgment are not flaws that interfere with rationality, but essential decision-making systems for entrepreneurial action.Key Insights:Why logic and prediction fail in conditions of true uncertaintyHow primal intelligence helps entrepreneurs act when the future is unknowableWhy storytelling, not data, is the brain's primary way of making sense of the worldIf you want to rethink intelligence, leadership, and entrepreneurship for a world that can't be predicted, this conversation offers a powerful new lens.Resources:➡️ Learn What They Didn't Teach You In Business School: The Value Creators Online Business CourseLearn more about Angus FletcherConnect with Angus Fletcher on LinkedInGet the book "Primal Intelligence. In this episode, I sit down with Bob Lambert, who draws on decades of real operating experience building iconic consumer brands like Nerds to explain why sustainable growth doesn't come from clever campaigns or chasing trends. It comes from clarity, curiosity, trust, and a deep understanding of how people think, feel, and make decisions. He breaks down why so many founders struggle to stand out despite having more technology, data, and channels than ever, and how unclear messaging quietly limits revenue and momentum. Our conversation shifts beyond marketing and into leadership and culture. Bob explains how trust erodes inside teams, why leaders lose effectiveness when they stop asking questions, and how creativity suffers when organizations prioritize speed and scale over understanding. As AI and automation accelerate, he makes the case that human connection, judgment, and empathy are becoming more valuable, not less, and that founders who ignore this will fall behind no matter how advanced their tools are. You'll learn:✅ Why most founders misunderstand what actually makes brands resonate✅ How creativity, curiosity, and observation drive durable growth✅ Why unclear messaging quietly kills differentiation and trust✅ How leadership and brand failures often stem from the same root problems✅ What decades of brand-building still teach founders in an AI-driven worldIf you're a founder or entrepreneur trying to build something that compounds over time, communicates more clearly, and creates products and brands people actually care about, this episode offers a hard-earned perspective you won't get from trend-driven advice.Connect with Bob LambertGuest LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robertjlambert/Guest Website: https://www.human2humanllc.com/If you are a B2B company that wants to build your own in-house content team instead of outsourcing your content to a marketing agency, we may be a fit for you! In the few minutes I waited to see the ball drop on New Year's Eve, I saw at least three different weight loss ads or commercials for a gym--something you couldn't avoid given that Planet Fitness was a major sponsor for the NYE event on ABC. During this time of year, you will see and hear all the ways you can change and achieve goals and resolutions. Having goals and making healthy changes is a good thing, but you can only achieve them when you are ready, not when the calendar mandates. It's also important to not take on too much at once or you will likely feel overwhelmed.Behavior change is the main focus of this week's conversation with my guest Lisa Rigau of Healthy Lifestyle Management, who is also a podcast sponsor for Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl. Lisa is a registered nurse, nutrition counselor, and community educator of health, wellness, mindfulness, and nutrition. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware. Lisa received her Master's degree from Marywood University in Sports Nutrition and Exercise Science. And, she is a certified teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through Brown University's School of Professional Studies & The Mindfulness Center at the School of Public Health.Lisa offers us guidance on how to be successful with behavior changes and reminds us that consistency is key. She says small moments many times make change. And she reminds us that when we fall off the rails--which will happen--we can always begin again. Most firm owners hear the noise about AI and panic. They're told their jobs are disappearing and the industry is on borrowed time. But the reality is simpler: AI isn't replacing accountants, it's reshaping how firms think, make decisions, and deliver value. In this episode, Brenton Ward and Thomas Phabmixay break down what AI actually does in a firm, why it's more “translation engine” than threat, and how it can scale judgement, not just automate tasks. Thomas shares how he uses AI inside his own practice to analyse work, improve communication, and speed up decision-making and why the biggest wins come when AI is woven into workflows so the team barely notices it's there. You'll learn:✅ Why “AI will replace accountants” is a myth that's been repeated for decades✅ How AI turns financial and client data into instant insight✅ Where AI creates real leverage in a firm's workflow✅ Practical ways firms can use AI today without building custom tools✅ Why critical thinking matters more than ever in an AI-enabled worldIf you've been overwhelmed by the hype or unsure where to start, this conversation gives you a grounded view of how AI can strengthen your firm, not threaten it.________________ PS: Whenever you're ready… here are the fastest 4 ways we can help you fix and grow your accounting firm: 1. Christians and alcohol. Few topics are more common in our culture and more ignored in the pulpit. In this sermon, Pastor Harold Warner takes Ephesians 5 head on and asks a blunt question: Are you living under the influence of alcohol, or under the influence of the Holy Spirit?Preached in a season of “holiday cheer,” this message exposes the cultural propaganda around drinking, walks through the Bible's real portrait of alcohol, and presses into the thing that actually matters: your testimony, your calling, and being filled with the Spirit.Scriptures Mentioned: • Ephesians 5:15–21 • Galatians 5:16–21 • 1 Peter 4:1–5 • Proverbs 20:1, Proverbs 23:29–35 • Romans 13:13–14 • Romans 12:1–2In this message you will hear about: • “Sipping saints” and why the line is never as clean as people pretend • The war between flesh and Spirit, and what alcohol is really feeding • Why the Bible's “ad” for drinking looks nothing like Madison Avenue • Noah, Lot, Nabal, Belshazzar, and the wreckage that follows drunkenness • How Christian liberty can become a stumbling block for weaker believers • Why a Spirit filled life is not optional if you want to impact people • The power of a clear cut, no nonsense testimony in a foggy worldIf you are wrestling with the “gray areas,” or if you have quietly opened the door to “just a little” alcohol, this sermon will not stroke your conscience. It will confront it, and then point you to something far better: a life filled with the Holy Spirit.Subscribe for more classic sermons that challenge easy Christianity and call men and women to radical discipleship, church planting, and world evangelism.Chapters00:00 Welcome, intro, and sermon setup00:31 Text in Ephesians and direction of the message00:49 Turning 60, family reunion, and midnight karaoke exit02:08 “Sinners do what sinners do” and Christian witness03:20 America's drinking problem and “sipping saints”05:03 Holiday Cheer: Living under the influence07:23 “You've wasted enough of your past life”09:12 Spirits vs the Holy Spirit: where your stimulus comes from11:34 The war between flesh and Spirit15:22 College culture, deception, and open doors to the enemy19:47 The Bible's beer commercial: Proverbs 2323:53 Testimony, liberty, and not stumbling weaker believers30:34 Last days warnings and the need for clarity37:58 New life, renewed mind, and breaking from the old life44:20 “Is this bud for you?” and the call to be filled with the SpiritShow NotesALL PROCEEDS GO TO WORLD EVANGELISMLocate a CFM Church near you: https://cfmmap.orgWe need five-star reviews! As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.1 Peter 2:4-5God is always doing 10,000 things in your life, and you may be aware of three of them.John PiperWhat the Church is NOTWhat the Church isThe Church is NOT:Just a BuildingAnd let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.Hebrews 10:24-2516 But when I thought how to understand this, it seemed to me a wearisome task,17 until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end.Psalm 73:16-17The Psalmist did not merely go to the building, he went to meet with God.Martyn Lloyd JonesWhat a wonderful place God's house is. Often you will find deliverance by merely coming into it… People who neglect attendance at the house of God are not only being unscriptural—let me put it bluntly—they are fools.Martyn Lloyd JonesA SupplementFor MeA seeker-sensitive church (or seeker-church) is a model of ministry and worship designed to be especially accessible, welcoming, and understandable to unchurched or spiritually curious people (“seekers”). The goal is to remove barriers that might make non-Christians feel out of place and to present the gospel in a culturally relevant way.Stop looking for the perfect church. It does not exist. Even if it did exist, the moment you or I joined it, it would no longer be perfect.Nicky GumbleAn organization of minimal impactPETER'S CRUCIFIXION*DIETRICH BONHOEFFER*The Church is:Christ's BodyFor as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.Romans 12:4-5The Church is not a religious community of worshippers of Christ but is Christ himself who has taken form among people.Dietrich BonhoefferBut Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. 4 And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”Acts 9:1-4InheritedSo then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,Ephesians 2:19-20For Jesus21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by[e] the Spirit.Ephesians 2:21-2225 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.Ephesians 5:25-27The Hope of the WorldIf the Church is central to God's purpose, as seen in both history and the gospel, then it must surely also be central to our lives.John Stott
