Before we sat down to record this week's episode, authorities in Iran announced that Hamas' political leader, Ismael Haniyeh, was killed in Tehran. This news came just hours after Israel claimed responsibility for the targeted assassination of a top Hezbollah commander, who was killed in retaliation for a gruesome missile attack in the Golan Heights. Amidst this flurry, there is a heightened prospect that conflict will escalate further throughout the region. However, the UN offers a way out of this escalatory spiral, identified no less by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which on Wednesday released a statement saying, “The only way to prevent an all-out war is the immediate implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701.” In our first segment, we explain what this means and whether an 18-year-old Security Council resolution can really prevent a wider war in the Middle East. Our second segment uses the occasion of Sierra Leone becoming the President of the Security Council for the month of August to tell the good-news story of one of the most successful UN peacekeeping missions of all time. Our third segment takes a deep dive into the work of ECOSOC, the Economic and Social Council, a UN body that receives very little attention despite its highly consequential work.As always, we depend on our audience to help us keep the light on. Jose Mourinho and Sir Bobby Robson were inseparable in the mid-90s, a two-some that saw success at Sporting, Porto and then FC Barcelona. Robson, even when leading those teams to titles and cups, was always talking about his beloved Newcastle United, and North East to a fresh-faced Mourinho. The two struck up an amazing friendship, and even after they parted ways in 1997 - they remained close pals. Sir Bobby of course eventually came home to manage Newcastle United returning in September 1999, while Mourinho went onto major success with Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter, and Manchester United. Ciaran Kelly, who joined Chronicle Live from Manchester Evening News earlier this year, wrote a book - The Rise of The Translator - about the Portuguese manager before following him home and away while covering the Red Devils. Podcast host Andrew Musgrove is joined by Ciaran to look at the relationship between Sir Bobby and Mourinho, and whether he'd ever take the NUFC job. The 56-year-old has been linked with replacing Rafa Benitez at NUFC should the Bin Zayed Group takeover. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

We have another two cracking property questions this week on Ask Rob & Rob. The first comes from PJ who wants to know about the ripple effect of northern cities. With property prices in the South East still way below their 2007 figures, PJ wants to know when the likes of Newcastle and Middlesbrough will see any capital growth after the mid-cycle wobble. As you know, Rob & Rob have form for accurate property predictions, so listen to Ask Rob & Rob this week to discover how they think these areas will play out. Will they see capital growth or are they not worth bothering with? Is there a trick PJ is missing out on with a location that Rob B is keeping a very close eye on? Is growth on the horizon or is it just too early to tell? Have a listen and let us know what you think. The second question comes from Pete who's a fairly new listener but has been loving the property podcasts so far (thanks Pete!). He has four investment properties in his property portfolio. He owns two outright and the other two have 50% mortgages against them - plenty of equity. Pete is worried about the tax changes for buy to let investment property and is concerned he'll get taxed twice if he chose to invest via a limited company. Pete's question isn't an unusual one and if anything, highlights the need to have a basic understanding of tax so you can make sure you're investing in property via a method that's best suited to your needs. Luckily, Rob & Rob are clued up on tax and have some general pointers for Pete, so hit the listen button to hear what they have to say. We also have The Property Hub Tax - a dedicated team who fully understand what property investors want. Tax is complex and it's never been more important to make sure you get the right advice. Sign up to the priority list today by clicking here. Do you have a property question for Rob & Rob? Or if you prefer, click here to leave a recording via your computer instead. The next question on Ask Rob & Rob could be yours. Have you joined us over in The Property Hub Forum yet? This weeks show is PACKED full of amazing awesomeness, with not one, but TWO interviews PLUS a brand new co-host, in the form of Geektown's very own TV Editor, Andrew! The first interview we have this week is with actress Susan Wokoma, who plays Raquel in E4's brand new horror comedy CRAZYHEAD, which is airing Wednesday nights at 9pm on E4 in the UK, and will come to Netflix worldwide later in the year. Raquel’s a self-made demon hunter with a whole lot of baggage and an impressive lack of social skills, who teams up with Amy (Downton Abbey's Cara Theobold). Amy discovers she's started to see demons who are masquerading as people... which is rather disturbing, so she obviously thinks she's going crazy. That is until Raquel shows up, and explains to her that what she's seeing is very real, and she needs her help battling the legions of hell... The second interview this week is with radio & tv presenter Jamie East, who is about to scary the life out of a bunch of famous people in Celebrity Haunted Hotel...
