In this extended episode of Inside the Pod, we take a look at the From Soya to Sustainability conference held in January by the NCS Project partners.Ben Pike speaks to a variety of speakers and attendees from the conference, including Philip Lymbery from Compassion in World Farming, Gemma Hoskins from Mighty Earth, and Pulse Pioneers John Seed and Rob Waterston, plus more, about the importance of home grown pulses in replacing imported soya and creating a more sustainable food system.
Gemma Hoskins was featured in the 2017 Netflix docuseries The Keepers, which explores the unsolved murder of Sister Catherine (Cathy) Cesnik, a Catholic nun and teacher in Baltimore in 1969. Cesnik taught english and drama at Archbishop Keough High School, and her former students believe that there was a cover-up by authorities after she suspected that a priest at the high school, Joseph Maskell was guilty of sexually abusing students. Gemma discuss developments in the case, specifically in the last year. It's holiday gift time! If you're not sure what to get the true crime aficionado in your life, never fear! Mind Over Murder has you covered!GIFT OF BOOKS:1) A Killer by Design: Murderers, Mindhunters, and My Quest to Decipher the Criminal Mind-- Ann Burgess and Steven Constantine. If you're a fan of David Fincher's colossal hit MINDHUNTER, you won't want to miss the story of the real-life Wendy Carr, the brilliant psychiatric nurse who worked alongside Robert Ressler, John Douglas, and the other pioneering FBI agents in Quantico's Behavioral Science Unit. Even if you think you're familiar with the early days of the BSU from Douglas and Olshaker's books, trust me, you don't know the half of it! This book is a treat for anyone who wants more on the development of profiling.PAIR THIS WITH: Any of the initial books from Douglas and Olshaker; a viewing of Fincher's MINDHUNTER; or the Audible presentation of the book, beautifully read by Gabra Zackman. We interviewed Ann and Steven about their book on Mind Over Murder on our episode from July 18, 2022.2) Frozen in Fear: A True Story of Surviving the Shadows of Death-- Jane Carson-Sandler.Jane is one of the surviving victims of the Golden State Killer and she is one tough-as-nails lady! This short memoir details her life both before and after the attack and discusses how she put her life back together to both survive and to thrive in spite of her trauma.PAIR THIS WITH: Michelle McNamara and Paul Haynes “I'll Be Gone in the Dark”; the HBO mini-series of the same name; XG Productions Audible Original “Evil Has a Name.”3) When a Killer Calls-- John Douglas and Mark Olshaker.I'm an unabashed John Douglas fan; everything he and Mark Olshaker have ever written lives somewhere on my true crime bookshelves. But this is by far the best of their work and that is really saying something! The kidnapping and murder of Shari Smith is horrifying, but even more so is the behavior of the offender. It is so audacious and cruel that it sounds like something from a movie. John's work on the case will break your heart… but it is the work of a profiler at the top of his game!PAIR THIS WITH: Anything this dynamic duo have previously written! You will never get a boring or poorly written book from these guys!We interviewed Mark Olshaker about this book on Mind Over Murder on February 14th and February 21st, 2022.4) Journey to the Center of the Mind Books 1-3-- James Fitzgerald.Grab a hot drink, snuggle under a warm blanket, and leave yourself plenty of time to binge! Jim “Fitz” Fitzgerald's career as both a uniformed cop and then an FBI profiler is full of ups and downs, which he skillfully and entertainingly details in his books. Get all 3 books if you want the full and unabridged Fitz story, though book 3 is my favorite as that's where we learn all about the Unabomb case and linguistic profiling. Make sure you check out his website for books and other merch (www.jamesrfitzgerald.com) including autographed posters.PAIR THIS WITH: Fitz's podcast The Fitz Files (which features a cameo from Kristin); the original drama MANHUNT: UNABOMBER; and the XG Productions Audible original “Where the Devil Belongs.”We interviewed Fitz on Mind Over Murder about the Unabomber and his books on June 30 and July 7, 2022.5) ShadowMan: An Elusive Psycho Killer and the Birth of FBI Profiling-- Ron Franscell. The story of Howard Teten and Patrick Mullany's profile of the Susie Jaeger kidnapping case was all new to me, but it's an absolutely enthralling story. These are the two men who started the BSU—the profiling legends we know today (Rob Ressler, John Douglas, Judd Ray) learned the ropes from Teten and Mullaney. The unsub at the heart of this story is your classic “nice guy next door” and it will definitely make you reevaluate what you think you know about your neighbors! It's a pulse pounding read!PAIR THIS WITH: If you're in the mood for a history of the early days of the BSU, start here, progress to Ann Burgess's “A Killer by Design”, then move on to the earliest Douglas and Olshaker collabs “Mindhunter” and “Journey into Darkness.” Take time for Robert Ressler's book “Whoever Fights Monsters” as well.6) Madman in the Woods—Jamie Gehring. What was it like to live literally next door to Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber? To have him show up at your door and even have him over for dinner? Jamie Gehring could tell you. She lived next to him in Montana. If you ever wanted to know who Ted Kaczynski was and how he evolved into the Unabomber, Jamie's book will bring you as close as you'll ever come, short of having a conversation with him yourself. This is a stunner of a memoir. I can't recommend it enough.PAIR THIS WITH: Jim Fitzgerald's JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE MIND, book 3; a viewing of MANHUNT: UNABOMBER; Audible original “Where the Devil Belongs”; the Audible version of this book, read by Jamie herself. We interviewed Jamie on Mind Over Murder on June 27th, 2022.7) Keeping On—Gemma Hoskins. You knew her and loved her on THE KEEPERS! But do you know the real Gemma Hoskins? You can by reading her book! Gemma's memoir is by turns funny, poignant, and insightful. There's plenty of info on Sister Cathy Cesnik's case and yes, there are some bombshells you won't want to miss!PAIR THIS WITH: A re-watch of THE KEEPERS! It's been a few years since it first aired, so it's more than time to give it another viewing! Pop some popcorn, grab a fuzzy blanket, and be prepared to give up a few hours of your life in a binge of epic proportions. We interviewed Gemma on Mind Over Murder on July 28th and August 4th.8. Trailed: One Woman's Quest to Solve the Shenandoah Murders—Kathryn Miles. This labor of love from Kate Miles is one of the best true crime reads in recent memory, tying together the murders of Julie Williams and Lollie Winans in the Shenandoah National Park with other missing and murdered women in Virginia. She discusses some compelling theories as to who may have murdered the women back in 1996 and sheds light on major issues within the NPS during that time period. It's thought-provoking and sensitive reporting. Highly recommended!PAIR THIS WITH: “The Cold Vanish” from Jon Billman (which we featured on last year's gift guide), which also explores disappearances and murders in national parks. We interviewed Kate on Mind Over Murder on May 16th and May 23rd of 2022.9) How to Catch a Killer and I Scream Man—Dr. Katherine Ramsland. We couldn't pick just one book out of Dr. Ramsland's whopping catalogue; you'll never get a bad book from this talented, astute, and prolific writer. But we opted for her two most recent releases—How to Catch a Killer is about the hunt for and capture of the world's most notorious serial killers including Rodney Alcala (the Dating Game killer); GSK; Aileen Wuoronos; and many more. This is part of the Profiles in Crime series, so if you love this one, there's more to come. And we couldn't neglect Dr. Ramsland's fiction debut … I Scream Man, featuring protagonist Annie Hunter who seems to be quite a bit like the good doctor herself! It's an excellent first book in a new series and we are looking forward to more! Check out all of Dr. Ramsland's books at www.katherineramsland.net.PAIR THIS WITH: Any of her 70 other books! I recommend the two that tie in to CSI and CRIMINAL MINDS.We interviewed Dr. Ramsland on Mind Over Murder on July 4 and July 11 of 2022.10) The Babysitter—Liza Rodman.Imagine, if you will, learning that your beloved childhood babysitter was a sadistic psychopath who was murdering women when he wasn't watching you. That's precisely what happened to Liza Rodman when she learned that Tony Costa, handyman and her childhood babysitter, was the ghoul responsible for murdering and dismembering four women in the Truro woods near Provincetown. The premise on its own is enough to make your skin crawl … learning what Tony Costa was actually doing made me want to sleep with the lights on! This pairs perfectly with HELLTOWN by Casey Sherman, which covers Tony Costa's crimes.PAIR THIS WITH: HELLTOWN, below!11) Helltown—Casey Sherman.Liza Rodman's childhood babysitter, Tony Costa, was a horrific serial killer who haunted the Cape Cod and Provincetown area, murdering and dismembering women. His horrific crimes and his court case are covered expertly in the book. Also explored is the pull the case had over two enigmatic local writers—Kurt Vonnegut and Normal Mailer. This meticulously researched and brilliantly crafted book was one of my favorite true crime reads of this year.PAIR THIS WITH: THE BABYSITTER, above! We interviewed Casey on Mind Over Murder on September 19th 202212) American Demon—Daniel Stashower. There's so much more to Eliot Ness than his time with the Untouchables. This deep dive into Ness's time in Cleveland and his work trying to solve the series of brutal slayings by the Butcher of Kingsbury Run is masterful. Stashower has a wonderful touch with historical crimes … they seem to come alive on the page. The book is meticulously researched, gorgeously written, and will keep you turning pages.PAIR THIS WITH: THE BEAUTIFUL CIGAR GIRL, Stashower's book about the murder of Mary Rogers and Edgar Allan Poe's involvement in it.We interviewed Dan on Mind Over Murder on October 31st, 2022.GIFTS OF SERVICE:1) You can help to solve a crime in one of two ways by going to DNASolves.com. You can either help to fund a case (or two or three) in any dollar amount, large or small, or you can follow the instructions on how to provide your own DNA to help grow the searchable law enforcement database.2) We know you love the work that Othram does as much as we do! In this week's episode, Bob and Erica chat with Shane Waters, investigative crime journalist and host of the popular podcast, “Foul Play.” Along with his co-hosts Gemma Hoskins from Netflix's “The Keepers” and crime writer Wendy Cee, Shane presents his investigations into unsolved cases in a narrative format. Bob and Shane fill Erica in on an unfortunate naming coincidence with a criminal in the UK, as well as Shane's theory regarding potential foreign influence. They also discuss Shane's comedy career, as well as Bob's recent endeavors in the world of stand up. Finally, the trio delve into the murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik, and then the Redhead Murders, along with Shane's role in solving the case.
On this episode the wonderful Claire joins me to talk about the horrible case of the death of Cathy Cesnik and the abuse that Fr Joseph Maskell doled out on the girls of Keough High School in Baltimore as detailed in the Netflix documentary series The Keepers. This is a rough one and we dive deep into the personalities involved including the two investigators Abbie Schaub and Gemma Hoskins who hounded law enforcement for documents pertaining to the case as well as doing emotionally harrowing interviews with some of the women involved. We also meet Jean Werner and Teresa Lancaster who were the original accusers of Maskell. We also meet Gerry Koob and a host of other weird and inexplicably uninformed characters as we try to unravel the details of the case. Cathy's body was found in the first days of 1970 and it sparked an investigation into the cruel and methodical abuse that Maskell was a ring leader of, in Keough High School among other spots all around Baltimore in the 1960s. This case goes all the way to the top; with police and other pillars of the community seemingly caught up in the accusations. ________________________ If you want to follow TCG on social platforms including the TCG Guilded Server; watch video versions of the livestream podcast and documentaries; or even join in on live chats about current events; buy TCG merch; get notifications of tickets you can buy to upcoming live stage shows or any other way to connect with me; all the available links, info and instructions you can find by clicking this link http://www.taplink.cc/thoseconspiracyguys If you want to throw a few bucks up the internet to support the show on Patreon you can get exclusive Patreon-Only content; all seasons of ad-free episodes; exclusive access to live chats and private social media like Instagram and Guilded and a whole load of other stuff click here http://bit.ly/TCG-Patreon where you can get all this from just $2 per month subscription or an annual one-time payment with a month free! Today's podcast features Gemma Hoskins, a high school student of beloved teacher Sister Cathy Cesnik who was found murdered in 1969. Gemma Hoskins and fellow internet sleuth Abbie Fitzgerald spent years auguring into the demise of Sister Cathy, and their quest to find the killer was captured by Netflix's The Keepers. Unbeknownst to both Gemma and Abbie they would ultimately find that a pedophile network was responsible for Sister Cathy's murder. Gemma Hoskins remembers high school fondly, thanks in large part to her favorite teacher Sister Cathy Cesnik. So, when the beloved nun disappeared one November night in 1969 only to eventually be discovered dead in the woods, grief took hold over this ambiguous story for decades. And then, truth-telling around abuse in those hallowed halls merged with Gemma's outstanding questions. 40 years after the murder, she got to work with the help of a former classmate of hers, and together they'd uncover more about the past than anyone expected. Roar with Shari. . . All Things Justice for Women & Survivors
In this episode, we discuss an unsolved murder. Haunting, horrible, upsetting and deeply troubling documentary: The Keepers on Netflix. Gemma Hoskins, Emmy Nominated for The Keepers, is still hunting down who killed beloved teacher and nun Sister Cathy Cesnik. Every now and again you stumble across a documentary that leaves you speechless, of murder, sexual violence, and hidden secrets, that plants an expression of disbelief across your face that lasts long after you've finished watching it. One, that leaves you no choice but to be heavily invested in strangers' lives, and leaves you still trying to find resolve to unanswered questions in the days that follow. A documentary that makes you question what the hell is wrong with the world. The Keepers is one of those documentaries. Our guest today, is Gemma Hoskins, one of the students of Sister Cathy, and at the center of the documentary, The Keepers. Horrible, gut wrenching and deeply haunting. But it's an important and incredibly brave story nonetheless. The Keepers tells the story of Sister Catherine Cesnik, a 26-year-old nun living in Baltimore who was abducted and murdered back in the 1960s. The case was never solved, but was linked to a horrific history of sexual abuse by a chaplain called Father Joseph Maskell. The documentary itself is incredibly interesting, but the subject matter is difficult and descriptions of what happened are upsetting and rather detailed, so I'd probably make sure you're aware of what you're getting yourself into before you dive into your next true crime binge.Meet Gemma Hoskins who shares with us today, her personal, relentless pursuit of the unsolved murder of her favorite high school teacher, Sister Cathy Cesnick and what they uncovered, which was more horrible than even murder.Listeners, Please Note: Shari Karney, the host of Roar with Shari. . . She earned her college degree in creative writing at Washington College in Chester, Maryland where she was awarded the Sophie Kerr Prize, the largest undergraduate prize in literature in the United States. The winning collection of stories about Delmarva was entitled Crossings and published in 2008. In the fall of 2020 Stephanie published her second work, Chasing Alice, the result of a six-year dedication of love in tribute to her high school English teacher, Alice Davis, who was tragically murdered by her husband. Stephanie joined Delmarva's Own podcast to share why Mrs. Davis was so inspirational to her and so many others and why Stephanie made it her mission to tell her story. In May 2013 Stephanie opened SaltWater Publishing in Berlin, Maryland to help local authors with self-publishing and tech services. Their tech-specialty is Apple products so before you cross the bridge to visit the Annapolis Apple store, give SaltWater Media a call. It's kinda their thing. She is the co-host of the “So What's Your Story” Podcast and has appeared on the “What You Should Read” podcast with Kelly Hager and Julia and Rachel Hall, the “Foul Play” podcast with Shane Waters and Gemma Hoskins, and “Mybookcart and More” with Hanna and Cari. Chasing Alice is available locally at The Greyhound Indie Bookstore, Sundial Books, Bethany Beach Books, The Bookplate, and Browseabout Books as well as through Salt Water Media. It is also available through Bookshop.org, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble, though as always, Delmarva's Own emphasized the importance of supporting local merchants. Do so if you can! The Catholic Church has been the center of a widespread scandal for a while now. In this episode, I am honored to be joined by Gemma Hoskins from the Netflix documentary "The Keepers" as we take a look at this widespread problem. The scandal runs deep, but we attempt to at least scratch the surface to provide an understanding of the history, present, and future of abuse at the hands of Catholic clergy. In 2013, Abbie Schaub and classmate Gemma Hoskins, along with friend and advocate Alan Horn, began investigating the unsolved 1969 murder of Sister Cathrine Cesnik. Sister Cathy was Abbie and Gemma's former teacher at Archbishop Keough High School in Baltimore, Maryland. What began as curiosity into the murder of a beloved teacher ended up becoming a years-long investigation that uncovered another unsolved murder and scores of survivors who were sexually abused by principal Father Joseph Maskell from Keough High. Abbie shares with us what how a simple investigation turned into the Netflix documentary series known as The Keepers. The Keepers is a seven-episode web series directed by Ryan White on Netflix. The series explores the unsolved murder of 26-year-old nun Sister Cathy Cesnik, an English and drama teacher at Baltimore’s Archbishop Keough High School, and her former students’ belief that there was a cover-up by authorities after Cesnik suspected that a priest at the school, A. Joseph Maskell, was guilty of sexual abuse of students. Gemma Hoskins was a student of Cesnik when she went missing November 1969, and with the help of her classmate Abbie Schaub has dedicated her retirement to finding the identity of Cesnik’s killer. Gemma, a key figure in the Netflix docuseries, helps narrates the events that took place at Keough High School in the 60s and 70s. She discusses in this interview how The Keepers changed her life, whether it brought new details about the murder to light, and its impact in the #MeToo era.Reality Life with Kate Casey http://www.loveandknuckles.comTwitter: @katecaseyInstagram: @katecaseycaFacebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/113157919338245/Facebook.com/loveandknucklesAmazon List: http://www.amazon.com/shop/katecaseycaDreams Become Real by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)Source: https://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1500027Artist: http://incompetech.com/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

#117 Cinema Psychos Show Podcast October is here (my goodness it came way too early) which means I am knee deep into the lead up to Halloween features for the show, and discovering all sorts of horror movies to watch. I have a special affinity for B horror films, and love finding new ones. When I was younger I always wanted to be a film critic. I had visions of myself sitting next to Roger Ebert at 12 years of age, giving my take on the latest film to arise. It is one of the reasons I love film review podcasts. There are a few great ones here in Pittsburgh, and the top two in my mind are You Can't Handle The Truth Podcast and Cinema Psychos Show Podcast. I have had YCHTT on the show before, and was excited to sit down with THE Cinema Psychos- Brian Cottington, Laine Wooliscroft and John Wooliscroft (Johnny Nitro). This was a super fun discussion about three friends who met over their love of film, and film making. We chat our favorite B horror movie titles, and I got to discover a bunch that I had never heard of! I cannot wait to check some of the titles out that I scribbled furiously down during the recording. Some of which include- "Orka", "Sleep Over Camp", "Night of the Demons", "The Tingler", "Troll 2", "Death Bed", "Birdemic; Shock and Terror", and two of my personal favorites- "The Stuff", "The Hunger" (David Bowie is a vampire guys!) These guys are the go to guys for checking out and reviewing films, and remember, don't eat while watching "Society" according to Brian. Check out their podcast on Epicast, Sticher, iTunes, and I heart Radio! What is your favorite B Horror movie? Let us know! This is the lead up to Halloween! Enjoy previous episodes with Gemma Hoskins from The Netflix show The Keepers, Mia La Monica, Tom Savini, and a whole lot more over the years. Also join us for our True Spooky Stories of Pittsburgh LIVE Podcast on October 14th at Barebones Productions. Free Craft Beer, Tarot Readings, and stories you have never heard unearthed by Marta Mazzoni and John Schalcosky.
Gemma Hoskins and Shane Waters sit down with Sharon Schmidt to discuss her family, including her uncle that lived across from Sister Cathy at the time of her murder. Sharon also discusses another bizarre unsolved murder that happened in her family only a couple years after Sister Cathy's murder. Two unsolved murders happening around the same man, is it a coincidence? Gemma Hoskins From "The Keepers" on Netflix This is the lead up to Halloween in which I feature different themes revolving around this holiday. Stories about facing your fears, spooky stories, psychics, magic, murder, and more have been featured, and I could not wait to release this episode. There was once a suggestion on Netflix given to me by a friend, that suggestion was a documentary called “The Keepers”. I had no clue what the show was about, but trusted the source and one weekend while I was ill decided to binge it. I was instantly hooked. Where do I even start with this? How do I tell you to watch this show without giving too much away? The story is disturbing, but it is an important one to hear. It revolves around a cold case murder that took place 50 years ago in Baltimore, Maryland. It unfolds to reveal a parallel storyline about female students who are now grown up women that attended the Catholic school named Keough and triggered memories of their time at school. Secrets, murder, rape, and more come to light in this documentary. You won’t believe what you hear, and who was all involved. It is important especially when so many priests and the Arch Diocese are being currently investigated in many cities across the country, and I believe that "The Keepers" had a huge hand in triggering a lot of this. Remember, this was before Spotlight, and I can not imagine the guts it took for these women and men to come forward, face their pasts, and confront their abusers. It is truly horrifying, but it has prompted even some friends that have had similar experiences to speak openly about them, and that is important. I could not wait to release this for the lead up to Halloween especially because Sister Cathy Cesnick. IS a Pittsburgh native. She is buried in her hometown of Sharpsburg. Gemma Hoskins is one of the leading investigators who researched this story. I was honored she took the time to answer my questions about the case, and was very candid about where we are currently in this investigation. Her and friend Abbie Schaub were very brave historians and students of Cathy. They have even been featured on "The View" to talk about the show. Gemma and Abbie spring boarded this investigation, and hopefully with the help of others who have information we will have Justice for Sister Cathy and all the victims of abuse out in the world. Check out the Justice for Cathy Cesnik and Joyce Malecki Facebook page, and follow along in the events that are unfolding. Topics discussed- - How the investigation started and lead to Gemma and Abbie - How the Netflix show picked up the information and formulated the show. - Who is Brother Bob? Marta and Gemma discuss. - Why the police are finally now more involved in working to solve the case. - Where YOU can take your information if you have leads. - Does Gemma feel as though we are any closer to solving the case? - Were the other nuns involved? - Will there be a season 2 of The Keepers? Sister Cathy Cesnik. Father Maskell. Courtesy of Netflix Gemma and Abbie on The View The lead up to Halloween ends with our live podcast in Pittsburgh. Gemma Hoskins, the former Archbishop Keough High School student who worked closely on the 7-part Netflix series "The Keepers," calls the bombshell Pennsylvania grand jury report on alleged priest sex abuse "sickening." This morning she told me that as horrific as the alleged abuse is, she believes those stories are not unlike the stories she has been hearing for the past five years from survivors of alleged abuse in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

The murder of Sister Cathy Cesnick in 1969 is still an intriguing and unsolved mystery after almost a half century. The 26-year-old was a teacher at Archbishop Keough High School when she disappeared. Did this Catholic nun know too much about dark secrets of sexual abuse of students? Nancy Grace explores the "The Keepers" mystery in this episode, along with Gemma Hoskins -- known as "Grandma Nancy Drew" for her determination to find answers in this case, private investigator Shane Waters, psychologist Cary Stark, and reporter John Lemley.

Who Stands to Gain? The Complex Web of Archdiocesan Bankruptcies and Sister Cathy's Unsolved Murder. After funneling an extensive amount of resources into fighting against survivors in Maryland to preserve the statute of limitations, the Archdiocese of Baltimore has now opened a new legal front—filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.Astoundingly, the archdiocese seems willing to spend millions more in legal and court fees to essentially carve out their own type of statute of limitations, a privilege that bankruptcy can afford them. This unsettling move is not unique to Baltimore; it's part of a wider pattern with 30 other archdioceses across the United States following suit.As this unfolds, Shane Waters and Gemma Hoskins reunite in Episode 87 of Foul Play: Crime Series to continue their dedicated investigation into who killed Sister Cathy. Kicking off Season 2 back in September 2018, we've now arrived at a critical juncture that compels us to ask: Who had the most to gain from Sister Cathy's tragic death? In this episode, listeners will be guided through the labyrinthine world of bankruptcy filings, legal strategies, and the disturbing lengths to which these religious institutions are willing to go to avoid accountability. The timing of these bankruptcy filings is not coincidental; it has the potential to thwart ongoing investigations and silence survivors indefinitely. Shane and Gemma dig deep into the financial intricacies and legal loopholes that these archdioceses are exploiting. Alongside this, they also scrutinize the possible connections between Sister Cathy's unsolved murder and the powerful entities now using bankruptcy as a shield. As financial power plays become a focal point, this episode doesn't just scratch the surface; it delves deep into the complex machinations that could be hiding the truth behind Sister Cathy's murder. Don't miss this compelling episode that seeks to unravel the complex tapestry of legal and moral questions surrounding one of the most puzzling cold cases in Maryland.
