The Messianic Jewish Expositor
A Final Dive Into The Rapture

The Messianic Jewish Expositor

Hi Folks,I've said that I would say no more about imminence but I have to say a little more. Did you know that Charles Spurgeon, J. C. Ryle, and George Mueller, believed in imminence? I'm not saying that they believed that the Rapture was imminent, although I think that they may indeed have believed that (The Second Coming of Christ: Encouragement to Watch and Be Ready for Our Lord's Return [Updated and Annotated] by Dwight L. Moody , Harriet B. Stowe, et al.) These were men, and one woman, who took the Scriptures literally, including prophecy. They absolutely believed that the Second Coming was imminent and they based this belief on verses like these:Matthew 24:27 NKJVFor as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.Matthew 24:36 NKJV“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.Matthew 24:42,44,50 NKJV[42] Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.[44] Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.[50] the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of,Matthew 25:6,13 NKJV[6] “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!'[13] “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Now, it certainly seems to me that the Rapture is not mentioned in the synoptic gospels. But imminence certainly is mentioned. What should we make of that? These saints - Spurgeon, Ryle, Mueller, and others too - didn't say be ready for the coming of the Lord at any time after the Tribulation. They just said be ready, the Lord could come at any time. That is imminence! Now, exactly what does all this mean? I'm not certain. But I am certain of this: these saints believed that the Lord could return at any moment, although not necessarily soon, and they did not know when. That's imminence. And they rejoiced in this. That has to mean something. These folks were looking for the blessed hope! Just read what they wrote. You can find it in the book that I just referenced. So much for imminence. At least for now. Now, does the Rapture happen before the Tribulation? Absolutely! Why? Here are a few reasons. It's not an exhaustive list.* The Rapture must occur in order for the Antichrist to be revealed.* 2 Thessalonians 2:7–8 “7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;”* Therefore the Rapture must occur in order for the Tribulation to start.* Therefore the Rapture must occur in order for the Time of Jacob's Trouble to start, which is the second half of the Tribulation, called the great Tribulation by Yeshua. See Matthew 24:15 and 24:21.* Therefore the Rapture must occur in order for the Jewish people, in their extreme desperation, to call for their Messiah and to mourn for Him as one mourns for an only Son (Zechariah 12:10).* Therefore the Rapture must occur for the Lord Jesus to return a second time.* Therefore the Rapture must occur for the Messianic Kingdom to be set up.Also:* The Rapture must occur before the Tribulation in order for the Apostle Paul to say, when describing the Rapture: Comfort one another with these words. If these believers were going to go through the Tribulation, Paul would not have said this.* The Church is not mentioned in Revelation 6-18. Why? These chapters deal with the Tribulation. The Church is not in the Tribulation because it has been raptured to heaven.I'll leave it at that for now. The Rapture is important and it is pretribulational. So, Folks, that's it on the rapture for now. It's been my pleasure and privilege to talk with you all about these things. Please, if you agree or disagree, or if any of this is new or useful to you, or if you think that it is woefully wrong, let me know by leaving a comment on Substack. Thank you, and God bless you all. This is Art Wolinsky. This is a public episode. The Twin Births of Technocracy (Esoteric vs. Exoteric)

The Wisdom Tradition | a philosophy podcast

In this episode of the Wisdom Tradition Podcast, I pick back up in my investigation into the emergence of technocracy and share a new excerpt from my book “The Coming World Nation,” which examines the issue from a new angle. In the first reading from this chapter that I shared a couple months ago, I introduced the concept of technocracy and explored how my take on it differs from that of every other scholar and analyst in the field. In my view, there are two dimensions of the technocratic movement - an original legacy version that is highly advanced in its understanding of Energy and Space, and a secondary version that is comparatively primitive, as it is locked on the level of scientific materialism. In Part 2 of this chapter, which I'm sharing today, I further unpack this idea, noting how technocracy has two distinct emergences: an original one that emerged in the late 19th-century (but which remains concealed), and a secondary one that emerged in the 1930s and which has evolved in time to eventually influence the rollout of the Great Reset in 2020. The UFO mystery is the best indicator we have that the first (and older) technocratic institution exists. The modern technocratic ideas behind Great Reset are completely ignorant of the existence of the science and technology behind UFOs, suggesting that there is a concealed aspect of the technocratic revolution that has not yet surfaced or been formally integrated into the global technocratic transformations now taking place (such as the rise of digital currencies, robotics, AI, and digital ID systems). When it does surface, the power of the science and technologies it possesses will transform the trajectory of the “Great Reset” in profound ways. Before we jump into this discussion in this episode, I provide some updated thoughts on the Charlie Kirk assassination and also introduce a new book on Manly P. Hall titled “10 Essential Lectures by Manly P. Hall: Abridged, Annotated, and with Commentary” (which is now available on Amazon; see my website www.alexsachon.com for the link).Table of Contents:00:00 - Introduction and Summary of My Theory about the “Technocratic Superstate”06:15 - Updated Thoughts on the Charlie Kirk Assassination13:16 - New Book Announcement: 10 Essential Lectures by Manly P Hall17:25 - The Twin Origins of Technocracy

Michael #1: Cyclopts: A CLI library A CLI library that fixes 13 annoying issues in Typer Much of Cyclopts was inspired by the excellent Typer library. Despite its popularity, Typer has some traits that I (and others) find less than ideal. Part of this stems from Typer's age, with its first release in late 2019, soon after Python 3.8's release. Because of this, most of its API was initially designed around assigning proxy default values to function parameters. This made the decorated command functions difficult to use outside of Typer. With the introduction of Annotated in python3.9, type-hints were able to be directly annotated, allowing for the removal of these proxy defaults. The 13: Argument vs Option Positional or Keyword Arguments Choices Default Command Docstring Parsing Decorator Parentheses Optional Lists Keyword Multiple Values Flag Negation Help Defaults Validation Union/Optional Support Adding a Version Flag Documentation Brian #2: The future of Python web services looks GIL-free Giovanni Barillari “Python 3.14 was released at the beginning of the month. This release was particularly interesting to me because of the improvements on the "free-threaded" variant of the interpreter. Specifically, the two major changes when compared to the free-threaded variant of Python 3.13 are: Free-threaded support now reached phase II, meaning it's no longer considered experimental The implementation is now completed, meaning that the workarounds introduced in Python 3.13 to make code sound without the GIL are now gone, and the free-threaded implementation now uses the adaptive interpreter as the GIL enabled variant. These facts, plus additional optimizations make the performance penalty now way better, moving from a 35% penalty to a 5-10% difference.” Lots of benchmark data, both ASGI and WSGI Lots of great thoughts in the “Final Thoughts” section, including “On asynchronous protocols like ASGI, despite the fact the concurrency model doesn't change that much – we shift from one event loop per process, to one event loop per thread – just the fact we no longer need to scale memory allocations just to use more CPU is a massive improvement. ” “… for everybody out there coding a web application in Python: simplifying the concurrency paradigms and the deployment process of such applications is a good thing.” “… to me the future of Python web services looks GIL-free.” Michael #3: Free-threaded GC The free-threaded build of Python uses a different garbage collector implementation than the default GIL-enabled build. The Default GC: In the standard CPython build, every object that supports garbage collection (like lists or dictionaries) is part of a per-interpreter, doubly-linked list. The list pointers are contained in a PyGC_Head structure. The Free-Threaded GC: Takes a different approach. It scraps the PyGC_Head structure and the linked list entirely. Instead, it allocates these objects from a special memory heap managed by the "mimalloc" library. This allows the GC to find and iterate over all collectible objects using mimalloc's data structures, without needing to link them together manually. The free-threaded GC does NOT support "generations” By marking all objects reachable from these known roots, we can identify a large set of objects that are definitely alive and exclude them from the more expensive cycle-finding part of the GC process. Overall speedup of the free-threaded GC collection is between 2 and 12 times faster than the 3.13 version. Brian #4: Polite lazy imports for Python package maintainers Will McGugan commented on a LI post by Bob Belderbos regarding lazy importing “I'm excited about this PEP. I wrote a lazy loading mechanism for Textual's widgets. Without it, the entire widget library would be imported even if you needed just one widget. Having this as a core language feature would make me very happy.” https://github.com/Textualize/textual/blob/main/src/textual/widgets/__init__.py Well, I was excited about Will's example for how to, essentially, allow users of your package to import only the part they need, when they need it. So I wrote up my thoughts and an explainer for how this works. Special thanks to Trey Hunner's Every dunder method in Python, which I referenced to understand the difference between __getattr__() and __getattribute__(). Extras Brian: Started writing a book on Test Driven Development. Should have an announcement in a week or so. I want to give folks access while I'm writing it, so I'll be opening it up for early access as soon as I have 2-3 chapters ready to review. As I'm sure everyone who frequents this site already knows all too well, The Dr. Demento Show comes to an end this weekend after 55 glorious years of mad music and crazy comedy. And what better way to pay tribute to such a momentous finale than by attempting to recap the entire history of the good doctor's show - and thus, ostensibly the entire history of comedy music itself - into an eight-and-a-half-minute parody of Don McLean's classic rock staple "American Pie?" From the recently-released compilation album Fruits of the Smogberry Trees: The FuMP's Tribute to Dr. Demento, this song was a true labor of love. Barret Hansen, aka Dr. Demento, has enriched my life and livelihood far more than I can easily express, but this song was my attempt at expressing it anyway, and I hope you all enjoy it. In this week's edition, Captain Matt McCants takes the membership through the high points of the latest update to the Annotated CBA. This revision touches on a lot of sections, so be sure to download the latest version to your mobile device. He also gives a recap of the latest IT summit between the Scheduling and Analytics Committee and the Company team. Take a listen to find out what percentage of duty periods were already executed within the lower duty limit restrictions this year. The answer might surprise you. With vacation bidding coming up, this episode's Q&A focuses on the C2020 vacation touches, and what to look forward to down the road. The show notes will point you to even more vacation bidding resources, like the TA education podcast and August RP article.LINKS:Annotated CBAVacation Bidding - Section 14 | Contract 2020 TA EducationVacation Bidding for 2025If you have any feedback for us at all, please drop us a line at comm@swapa.orgFollow us online:Twitter - https://twitter.com/swapapilotsFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/swapa737

Michael #1: pyawaitable CPython API for asynchronous functions. by Peter Bierma It was originally designed to be directly part of CPython - you can read the scrapped PEP about it. Since this library only uses the public ABI, it's better fit outside of CPython, as a library. Brian #2: Annotated area charts with plotnine Nicola Rennie This is a marvelous, very professional looking plot, and a tutorial for how to achieve it. Uses plotline, which is “.. an implementation of a grammar of graphics in Python based on ggplot2” I actually didn't know the gg in ggplot came from “grammar of graphics”. TIL Michael #3: DeltaDB A lightweight, comprehensive solution for managing delta tables built on polars and deltalake. Deltalake: Delta Lake is an open-source storage format that runs on top of existing data lakes. Polars: Dataframes powered by a multithreaded, vectorized query engine, written in Rust (aka fluent, rust-based pandas) See the docs. "And is the Tao in the DOS for a personal computer?" The master coughed and shifted his position slightly. "The lesson is over for today," he said.
