Hoof Hearted Everybody Wants Some Citra is a Double IPA by style. Our rotating single hop DIPA series. We are embarking on a fantastical journey (or dare we say quest) to put a singular focus on all of our favorite hop varieties, one at a time. A light and simple malt base of Pilsner Malt and Oats allow the single hop varieties to shine without stepping on it's toes. This craft beer is 8% ABV and 70 IBUs. In this craft beer review, we will take a look at the color, smell, and taste.
On this week's episode of American Beer Review LIVE!, Chad got another Tavour drop based on the can art alone. We start the episode off with a heavy right foot and talk a little off-season NASCAR before we fill our glasses with Yamabiko Rice Lager from New Hokkaido Beverage Co. Meandering our way through some old new articles we end up making new best friends with Hoof Hearted Brewing while tasting and reading about their $60 Nachos Double IPA. Chad admits to stealing a new description for intense IPA flavor from @ihateipas on Tik Tok, Alec and Brian will allow it so as not to bring back the "U" word.@ihateipas on Tik Tok New Hokkaido Beverage Co. In this week's episode we answer the age old question, is Valentine's day just a holiday created by the greedy greeting card companies to capitalize on unachievable romantic expectations, or a holiday we should embrace as a way to profess our undying love for our loved ones. We then discuss the possibility of reincarnation, and try and determine who we may have been in a past life. This week's canned inspiration comes from Hoof Hearted Brewing called Rose` Gose`. We want your recommendations! What is your favorite canned beverage? We‘d love to have a taste and feature it on a future episode. Any additional suggestions, questions, or corrections you may have, we want to hear those as well! Make it personal! No half stars, we commit and stand by the full level we award. 5-Star: We love it so much, we rave about it to anyone who will listen, and actively hand them out to friends and family to try! 4-Star: We really like it, will proactively get more, and will keep some on hand to enjoy at our next social gathering. 3-Star: It's good, we like it, and equate it to our standard weekend selection. We won't go out of our way to acquire more, but will certainly have it again should the situation arise. 2-Star: It's not great. We will finish this can, but will part ways after, and will likely not meet again in the future. 1-Star: It's terrible. We won't be finishing the can, and will need another, better can, to wash the awful taste out of our mouths. 0-Star: It's so bad, it caused a visceral reaction that made us physically reject it's contents.

Episode 227 - An Animatraumatic Experience As kids, most of us probably had the same idea of what would make for a total dream birthday. Your parents tell you that you're headed some place awful for the day, like that b***h Aunt Tina's house, so you spend the entire car ride moping. You were so caught up in your thoughts that you didn't even realize that you were in the parking lot Chuck E. Cheese until your parents said something. Also, you didn't realize it because you were 5, and 5 year olds are stupid. The rest of your day is a whirlwind of sugary drinks, pizza, games, and the piece de resistance, a five-piece animatronic band, that was definitely not creepy at all. Well, now that we're older, and we've been introduced to the horrors of AI-gone-bad, and machines revolting against humans, we realize just how traumatic those birthday parties must have been for our parents, who no doubt were sitting there the entire time thinking "What if this mouse and his friends decided enough was enough, and just started murdering everyone in sight?" Luckily for us, as horror fans, some of the kids who used to attend those birthday parties, and grew up to realize how truly creepy they were, decided to pull back the fur, and reveal the true horrors that lie beneath those cute, cuddly faces. So grab a slice of bad pizza, a can of Everybody Wants Some!! Double IPA from Hoof Hearted Brewing, and join us. Cheers!! Follow us! Another head to head contest. Two crazy collaboration stouts. The first is Amager Bryghus and Angry Chair Brewing's Black Rainbows. It's a 12% pastry stout with strawberry, vanilla and cocoa beans. We compare that with Hoof Hearted Brewing and Evil Twin Brewing's Even More Tennis Elbow. This is a double mashed imperial stout with hazelnut, coconut and vanilla. Both sound amazing but who is the winner?

Financial Independence Retire Early- you’ve likely heard the term on the show and this movement has gained a lot of steam over the past decade. And even though we agree with most of the tenets of FIRE, there can be side effects or negative consequences that can occur when it’s taken too far. Just like with almost anything in life, when there isn’t a proper balance, something that’s normally good can easily become something bad. That’s what we’re going to talk about today- the pros and the aspects and behaviors that it encourages that we love. But we’re also going to cover the cons of FIRE and how certain actions could actually keep us from attaining the goals we’re truly seeking. During this episode we enjoyed a Fruit and Hops on the Bottom which is a collaboration between Stillwater and Hoof Hearted Brewing! It's a Valentine's Special episode from "A Beer With Atlas", which means the crew finds a way to get chocolate and roses into a bottle (and can). We try a true Oregonian original with this Double Chocolate Stout brew from Rogue Ales and Spirits. And that's followed by a Rose Gose from Hoof Hearted Brewing hey, we even got "hearts" in there! Whether you have your own valentine to share an evening with, or you're going solo, there's something here for everyone. We get into the history of chocolate and how it became associated with Valentine's Day, we discuss these special brews, and we even chat about "Dirty Dancing" and the legacy of Patrick Swayze. Now that's a solid date night! Maybe nobody puts Baby in a corner, but we do recommend putting these brews on your list of beer goodness to try. Podcast 31: Preshow Beers : Alex - Nobody's Robot, Nick - Warm Hand Splash Another low-key week for us, but we're back and we're going to entertain you. Jake talked about his adventures on Hanover St. and Alex has opinions on cupcakes and wants to know everyone's take on the word moist. We discuss at length the correct amount of icing on cupcakes and our other favorite desserts. Moving back to beer, we hit on what adjuncts can be used in beers and how over used some flavors are. Some of these flavors are winners and some are stinkers. Coming into the holiday season, we're gonna have some stellar stouts and Christmas ales. We're gonna focus next week on trying some of these styles and commenting on these to gear up for the holidays. Our hatred of pumpkin spices and pumpkin beers is strong. Overall we're looking for balance and still drinking a beer from these flavors. Brew Gentlemen released Double Mex on Sunday. Were you able to get your hands on this special release? We'll be tasting this one on Christmas Eve probably. We talk about traveling for beer and what we factor into going to these places that are further away than our normal stops. In that conversation we hit on Full Pint and Brew Gentlemen and Jake and Alex relive California with Russian River. Beer #1: Jake - Red Currant Fated Farmer - Trillium Brewing (American Wild Ale - 6.7%) Jake raved about this beer. Excited to see how this series evolves. Very sour and heavily carbonated. Beer #1: Alex/Nick/Sara - 120 Minute IPA (2015) - Dogfishhead (Triple IPA - 18-25%) Alex was shocked by how smooth this beer was. Very malty and cloudy, but not hazy. The holy grail for hopheads does not disappoint. There's no way to guess that the ABV is as high as it is. Brew News! Sixpoint was acquired by Southern Tier/Victory Beer. Steel City Beer Wholesalers are bringing Hoof Hearted Brewing, Rotunda Brewing and Maine Beer Co to Pittsburgh. Beer #2: Nick/Alex Etch - Dancing Gnome (IPA - 6.6%) Much better batch this time. We're drinking Christmas beers next week! Check back then!
