Send us a Text Message.Welcome to the Breakfast With Tiffany Show podcast, where we uncover the extraordinary journeys of individuals shaping our world today. On this episode, we're honored to welcome Henry Edward Tse, a true trailblazer whose resilience and courage has propelled the fight for transgender rights in Hong Kong.Henry's story began in the vibrant streets of Hong Kong, where he grappled with the complexities of gender identity in a society steeped in tradition. Growing up in Hong Kong in the early 2000s, he faced profound struggles living in a body that didn't align with his true self. Despite attending an evangelical girl's school, where he was often misidentified as a tomboy or lesbian, Henry's journey of self-discovery truly began when he moved to the UK to attend the University of Warwick.Despite the challenges, Henry embarked on a transformative journey that led him to the realization of his authentic self as a transgender man during his studies in the UK.Returning to his homeland, Henry confronted the harsh realities of outdated laws and societal stigma. Undeterred, he became a vocal advocate for change, leading the charge to redefine transgender rights in Hong Kong. His efforts culminated in a historic moment in February 2023 when the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal ruled in favor of transgender individuals, striking down discriminatory laws that required invasive surgery for legal recognition. In this captivating episode, Henry shares his personal journey, from the struggles of his own transition to the broader fight for equality and acceptance. Join us as we delve into the inspiring story of a man who refuses to back down in the face of adversity.Join us next time for Part 2 of this conversation as we delve deeper into Henry's advocacy work and the future of transgender rights in Hong Kong. In this compelling episode, Keaton and Lucah navigate the nuanced terrain of grace in relationships and its surprising scarcity in today's society. They ponder the role of grace against the backdrop of their transitions, revealing how it unearthed unexpected social anxieties and questioning whether the tendency to see potential in others stems from trauma. As the conversation meanders through the impacts of social media gaslighting to the challenges of mismatched partnership dynamics, they explore when grace is sufficient to bridge differences and when it's simply not enough. This episode is a rich tapestry of personal insights, touching on empathy, forgiveness, and the complex dance between independence and interdependence, all through the lens of their experiences as trans men. ---- Join the Mod Club at: https://clubftm.com/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/modclub/message

Do civilizations crumble under the weight of shifting gender norms? Our dynamic panelists spark a riveting dialogue about this very question. We convened a panel, including Jeremy, Nick, Mary, Maximus, and Robert, to dissect the phenomenon that Murray proposes: the focus on gender identity as a harbinger of societal decline. As we traverse through our cultural landscape, from pop songs to policy debates, our episode delves into the heart of why gender conversations have become so pervasive in Western society, especially in the United States. What is the Christian response? This is far more than just a discussion of societal constructs; it's an exploration of the spiritual vacuum that may be at our core. Our conversation ventures deep into the meaning of suffering and authenticity in a world that increasingly prioritizes individual identity over collective unity, let alone unification with Christ Jesus. We tackle the challenging idea that the blurring of established norms might not be the cause of societal deterioration but rather a symptom of a larger crisis—a detachment from a shared objective reality, Christ Himself, that once bound us together. Join us as we seek to understand whether our current preoccupation with personal identity is a sign of progress or peril.Thank you for journeying w/ the Saints with us!

This week, FANTI brings you another special installment of We See Each Other: The Podcast. We'll be back next week to give you the usual good good! On this week's episode, hosts Tre'vell Anderson and Shar Jossell speak with actor, Brian Michael Smith. The star shares how he is now able to bring all sides of himself to the table as an actor. But first, our hosts discuss masc representation in media, or rather the lack thereof. With cis women actors playing transmasculine characters as the norm back in the day, like Hilary Swank in Boys Don't Cry, our hosts discuss how this practice creates further confusion and harm into the trans conversation. Then later, we Pass The Mic to our everyday trans siblings and get a lesson on transmasculine activist and civil rights pioneer, Pauli Murray.Find us on IG: @SlayzhonYou can buy We See Each Other: A Black Trans Journey Through TV & Film the book wherever books are soldMentioned in the ShowDr. Kortney ZieglerStill Black: A Portrait of Black TransmenSoldier's GirlLaith AshleyStrut Isis KingQueen SugarIG:@Rayzhon @sharsaysso @slayzhon (WSEO IG) Twitter@trevellanderson @sharssaysso @slayzhon @vivalapalma (Producer, Palmira Muniz)@swishswish (Senior Producer, Laura Swisher) Music: Neverending Nina (IG @neverendingninanotes)Producer: Palmira MunizSenior Producer: Laura SwisherLaura Swisher is senior producer Music: Never Ending NinaWe See Each Other: The Podcast is produced and distributed by MaximumFun.orgThis podcast is supported by Critical Minded, an initiative to invest in cultural critics of color co founded by The Nathan Cummings Foundation and The Ford Foundation. Transitioning takes self-reflection, and courage, and self love... but it also takes time, and money, and often a lot of both. That's a privilege not a lot of trans people have, and we're gonna talk about how that can complicate things. The Queer Family Podcast | S13 EP7 | To live as his authentic self in his native Transylvania, Stefan would have been forced into bottom surgery and a hysterectomy, rendering him sterile. So like most trans guys in his country, he got his testosterone on the black market and lived on the DL. Now he lives in the US with his wife, and while the country is not nearly as inclusive as he was led to believe, he at least has had the opportunity to begin the family-building process with his wife. After nearly a decade on testosterone, Stefan recently froze his eggs. He wanted to share his story in the hopes of opening up new possibilities for others like him and to challenge commonly held beliefs about the impact of testosterone on fertility. "If you want to change your name to match your gender, you have to sue the government and go through a medical panel. And you have to have bottom surgery and a hysterectomy and remove your ovaries. That is required for you to change your name." Stefan From Transylvania If you like the episode, make sure to leave us a review and support The Queer Family Podcast on Patreon for as low as $2/month! So, okay; here's the deal: we talked SO much when we recorded Nicole's farewell episode that we ended up cutting almost half an hour from the version that we released last week (classic #workwives!). We ultimately decided that this particular twenty-four minute chunk didn't serve the true purpose of that ep - which was celebrating Nicole, our partnership, and the version of the pod that is "Coming Out with Lauren & Nicole" - but we also felt that the tangential discussion we'd had was important enough to release on its own as this bonus mini-episode. Plus, Nicole wouldn't be Nicole if she didn't leave without a dash of CONTROVERSY! Please enjoy the following completely unedited, *heated* conversation, and remember: it's okay if we disagree! The Out Magazine article we discuss (that we keep mistakenly referring to as an "interview;" oops!) can be found here: https://www.out.com/gay-news/jasmin-savoy-brown-lesbian. At least Lauren got the author right! This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5207650/advertisement

Helen Joyce is causing a lot of trouble. YouTube recently removed her conversation with Jordan Peterson (due to vague accusations of “hate speech” and “inciting violence”) and the BBC doesn't invite her on air anymore. Among her heresies, she is guilty of believing there are two sexes and saying it out loud.Helen, an Irish journalist, bestselling author, and director of advocacy at Sex Matters, spoke to Peter Boghossian about the differences between men and women. In many arenas, the differences don't matter, but they are a matter of consequence regarding women's privacy, vulnerability, and physical competition. Peter and Helen discuss the definition of sex, why trans men should be allowed in women's spaces, the tragedy of the commons, fa'afafine, evolution, the “thought-terminating cliché,” the tribal fear of rejection, the cultivation of mental illness, why institutions are losing their North Stars, and much more.
