Jake Morris is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter based in Portland, Or. Outside of drumming for Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, he releases solo records under the name Street Nights. Jake and Joe talk about their early drums lessons and Jake shares how a Living Color song sent him on the path of self-education.  He tells us why a more methodical approach to recording the new record was a more satisfying process and allowed him to not only be more focused, but more creative. Jake Morris is a teacher and assistant head football coach at Dorman High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Jake is also a committed follower of Jesus, a husband, and a father. I have known Jake since I was his youth pastor when he was in middle school. On this episode of the podcast, Jake and I talk about the importance of investing in young men and how coaches can and must care about more than X's and O's. Along the way, Jake tells us what makes the most difference in the kids he coaches and how kids today are the same as they were twenty years ago and what is different. As young people in our culture more consistently live in fatherless homes, the role of male coach is more important than it has ever been. Even more important, however, is for coaches to accept the responsibility to be more than a ball coach, to be people of character and courage who help raise young men up to make a difference in the world around them. For the first time, we have a marketing roundtable discussion on the Stewart-Haas Radio podcast. Nook is joined by Jake Morris, Ryan Barry, KC Heschel, and Ryan Hines in the studio to talk playoff and championship preparations.

As the racing world heads to Texas with NASCAR in Fort Worth and Formula 1 in Austin, Nook invites Lauren Burton and Jake Morris into the studio. Lauren is the Marketing Manager for Haas F1, while Jake holds the same title for Stewart-Haas Racing. Nook and Jake rehash Martinsville and look ahead to Texas, before Lauren and Jake touch on the differing aspects of their roles and talk about some of their favorite racetracks to travel to on the respective series schedules.

Tipperary is basking in the glow of an incredible 2019 season for them with the U20s picking up their own All Ireland title just a week after the seniors success and this week’s Throw-In with Will Slattery and Michael Verney looks back on the weekend action. And the future is bright for Tipperary hurling judging by the U20s devastation of Cork in the final with an amazing four goals in the opening ten minutes. Jerome Cahill was one of a trio, including Jake Morris and Paddy Cadell, who claimed senior medals in Croke Park and they will be looking to make their mark on Liam Sheedy’s team in the next few years. Meanwhile, for Cork, with no underage All Ireland hurling since 2001, they need to start winning again to quell any doubts about themselves moving forwards. Will and Michael also review the Ladies football semi-finals with 10,000 in attendance for the first Ladies semi-finals to be held in Croke Park between Dublin v Cork and Galway v Mayo with Dublin and Galway winning out. Like the men’s team, Dublin Ladies are building their own footballing dynasty seeking a three-in-a-row while their opponents, Galway are in their first final since 2005. Jake Morris, a founding member of Apex Combat and member of the inner circle, sits in for the first half of the show because Steve is stuck an hour away for work. In what amounts to two episodes in one, our longest show yet hits the ground running as Brad and Jake discuss bums, their schedule and drinking habits, and how the word can pertain to both the financially disadvantaged and opponents in the world of boxing that refuse to run. Brad briefly addresses the unintentional hiatus for the show in recent weeks, speaking openly about the adverse effects but without naming names. Continuing in the sports heavy first half of the program, Brad and Jake preview and discuss the 2018 West Virginia football season, rant about the stupidity of the current playoff system, ridicule Pitt and Virginia Tech, revisit the worst possible memory for Pittsburgh Pirates fans and one of the best in the history of the Atlanta Braves, and share some of their best stories from section 103 at Mountaineer Field. Steve is back in the studio for the second half of the episode, and he has had enough of bad days of work in a certain local area. He has also had enough of work in general, and does not hesitate to air his grievances. Dave Markert is called out for bleaching his hair and Steve discusses his recent family vacation to what he calls Hillbilly Heaven in Tennessee. Brad makes an official book announcement for 2019, and the perils of social media, greed, and the materialistic mindset are talked about in context of decision-making and the influence that we have on people whether we intend to or not. Steve compares being intubated for surgery to deep-throating in the most intimate sense, the words "Date Rape Dessert" make an appearance and the reason why is inexplicable, and acronyms for someone's name are presented despite neither host having any involvement. In the final segment, Steve vents his frustration with the FDA and their intrusion upon almond milk, Brad and Steve present their Top 5 Desert Island Women lists, and Brad closes the show with a thank you note for his inner circle. Hey everyone, welcome to the show! On today's episode, The Stalker Stickbow team gathers around in my living room, and we talk about where the company's headed and how we got to where we are today. As some of you may know, the team is growing, we've added Jake Veldhaus, or as we like to call him, “JV” who will be doing a lot of the computer art design that we need for production. I also sent him to Grady Rawls's film school a couple weeks ago, and he seems to be picking up the video production quite nicely. He'll be helping out with editing some of my older content that has never been released, so hopefully here pretty soon we will have some new films coming out for you all to see. I am very happy to announce that I was able to talk my wife, Kyri Cox into sitting in on this episode, and she and I reminisced over our backcountry hunts we did together in our first couple years of marriage. Jake Morris, who has been on the show before, brought up what he'll be doing for hunting season, as well as what the whole crew will be doing with each other, so you guys can expect some awesome hunts to come from us this year.
