The conversation opens with Madonna's muted reception at Coachella alongside Sabrina Carpenter, with Burtt framing the moment as a generational divide in how younger audiences experience live music — and predicting a chart comeback once their collaborative single drops. The two pay tribute to actor Patrick Muldoon, who passed away at 57, best known for Melrose Place, Days of Our Lives, and Starship Troopers. Burtt also covers the Brady Bunch house opening as a limited charity tour experience in Los Angeles, and closes with a breakdown of Anne Hathaway's remarkable 2026 film slate — five releases including The Devil Wears Prada sequel and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

Jeannette talks to branding expert and podcasting extraordinaire James Burtt about the evolution of branding in today's digital landscape, exploring the significance of personal branding and the impact of social media. James shares his unique journey from being a Michael Bublé tribute act to becoming a successful entrepreneur in the audio space, highlighting the importance of understanding one's brand reputation and core values. The discussion also touches on the transformative power of video in podcasting, the role of AI in content creation, and the essential elements that make a brand resonate with its audience You'll Learn Why: A brand is fundamentally about reputation. It is the promise a company makes and how well it delivers on that promise. Understanding what you want your brand to represent is crucial for building a strong identity. Establishing core values, mission statements, and unique selling propositions (USPs) is essential for any brand. The podcasting landscape has evolved significantly, with video becoming a critical component.  Brands must adopt a "show" mentality rather than just a "podcast" mentality to maximise their content's reach and impact. Then, Doug introduces us to Greg Burtt or Burtt's Apple Orchard (burttsappleorchard.com), for a discussion on the 6-acre family farm. The farm had been a dairy and maple farm for many years, until Greg and his parents felt like trying something different - apples seemed like a good idea. They opened for picking in 2009 with a few acres of young trees and sold all their apples in just two weeks. That meant it was time to plant more. Now, apple picking at their orchard has become a tradition for many families in the area. Plus an acidity vs alkalinity of soil, and Doug opines that the Farm Service Agency is good at helping family-owned farms while most federal agencies don't seem to care, how dairy cattle are being affected by the bird flu and whether or not it's transferring into milk.Website: AmericanFamilyFarmerShow.comSocial Media: @GoodDayNetworks

A personal journey. I didn't think I had a problem with alcohol, but in 2021 I found that it had become acceptable for me to pour myself a glass of wine most nights.  The crazy thing was I was always looking at ways to improve my mindset and physical health, but up until that point, I'd excluded alcohol from the equation. You've got to have some vices, right?   The problem was I was no longer getting what I needed from my relationship with alcohol. It was starting to become a bad habit that wasn't serving me. It may not have been the problem, but it certainly wasn't the solution, and whilst ever I was using it as a crutch for an instant dopamine hit, I was avoiding doing the inner work that was required to help me live a healthier, happier and more fulfilled life.  I recognised that I needed to take a tactical break and stop drinking alcohol to really see what I was capable of.  In this special joint episode with James Burtt producer of the One Year No Beer podcast, I give an honest insight into what it was like going completely alcohol-free for 2022 with no agenda. I share the pros and the cons without any of the fluff, so if you're considering making some changes, then this is worth a listen. The One Year No Beer Podcast will inspire you to take, or support your journey on a 30, 90 & 365 day challenge to stop drinking and focus on healthy habits. You can follow James Burtt Here: https://www.instagram.com/jamesburttofficialCheck out the One Year No Beer Podcast here: https://www.oneyearnobeer.com/podcasts/  VALUABLE RESOURCES On A Mission - https://omny.fm/shows/on-a-mission   ABOUT THE HOST Not so long ago, life was barely recognisable for Ellie McKay, raising three children under five, battling post-natal depression, facing redundancy and walking into the job centre to claim benefits with a double pram, no confidence, and wracked with insecurities. This week, Ellie is joined by audio entrepreneur and branding strategist, performance coach and iTunes Top 50 podcaster, James Burtt. James talks about his fascinating journey through a musical career and into business, why honesty matters when it comes to putting your message out into the world, the wisdom he's found in the most unlikely places, and why we should always be ready when opportunity arrives. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many people document their wins, but life isn't always about constant victories. Some days you are faced with challenges, and talking about these can prove invaluable to others. Opportunities arise from the most unlikely of places at times. We must never remain closed off to chances to do things differently as the journey can lead to some incredible new places. In business and life, it can be challenging when our partners do not share or understand our visions and goals, as it can produce a friction. When we find ourselves in low places, it is not necessary to have all the answers. All we need to do is make sure we're putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward in some small way. BEST MOMENTS 'What I'm committed to doing is finding what's in it for someone else' 'The first step towards self-improvement is being self-aware' 'It's better to know than to not know' 'Inner grit is a refusal inside you to give up and accept that that is your reality'  VALUABLE RESOURCES On A Mission - https://omny.fm/shows/on-a-mission   Building The Brand - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/building-the-brand-with-james-burtt/id1486826187 James Burtt LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jamesburtt/?originalSubdomain=uk ABOUT THE HOST The On A Mission Podcast brings you Ellie Mckay's no holds barred chats with some of the UK's top business leaders, entrepreneurs, celebrities, athletes, top thought leaders, influencers and mindset experts.
