In this episode, the guys are joined by 5-time PGA Tour winner Jonathan Byrd. After some banter with J Byrd, the guys unpack James 2:1-13. In these verses, James instructs his readers not to show partiality. He then gives a number of reasons why this is incompatible with Biblical Christianity. Showing partiality contradicts God's character, ways, law, and judgment. If we are going to live wholehearted lives like James desires, we must reject partiality as well.

Jonathan Byrd is a 5-time PGA Tour winner and an amazing human being. I chatted with him about how he started getting serious about the game of golf, how he and his wife met, what he loves to do when he's not playing golf, and what it was like meeting JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE after his epic victory at the 2010 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open! He also has amazing advice to high school students who may be pursuing the game of golf! (Check out the last 10 minutes for that) DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE! Help us grow the channel! A state board that oversees correctional facilities decided last Thursday to allow Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey to continue to house incarcerated young people; the Board of State and Community Corrections's evaluation was that the juvenile hall had met the minimum requirements on staffing levels and safety checks. In making the decision, the Board of State and Community Corrections also found that the Los Angeles County Probation Department's efforts to meet use-of-force training and other requirements were improving. This follows the state regulatory body's notice in February that the correctional hall would need to close if these demands weren't met. Today on AirTalk, we update listeners on how the juvenile hall got to this point with LAist mental health reporter Robert Garrova. We also hear from Jonathan Byrd, 2nd Vice President & Chief Steward for the L.A. County Deputy Probation Officers' Union, and Milinda Kakani, Youth Justice Director for Children's Defense Fund – California. With files from LAist; read Robert's latest story here. We reached out to the L.A. County Probation Office, but they were unable to provide a representative to join the program.

Our second show of Season 2 was a first in many ways. We had our first spoken word artist on the show – Minton Sparks! The incomparable singer-songwriter Jonathan Byrd returned, being our first guest to do so after being on our first show ever in 2018. And lastly, Shohei Tsutsumi was our first international guest. A devoted student of old-time music, Shohei had relocated for a time from Japan to Elkin to further his studies by learning from some of the area’s greats and taking part in festival competitions.
FTB podcast #510 features 4 new albums! 2 songs each from The Delines, Keller Williams, The Rave-Ups and The Cactus Blossoms. Also some new singles from Annie Keating, Jonathan Byrd and Sierra Ferrell. Full playlist: http://ftbpodcasts.com/?p=8670

S2 Ep. 4 (almost over) This episode's guest, Mac Barnhardt, is a longtime agent and performance coach. Over the past 25 years, Mac has represented some of the most well-known and accomplished players in golf. Mac played collegiate golf at High Point University in the mid-80s. After college, he worked in the airline industry before taking a position at Pros Incorporated, a legendary agency created by Vinny Giles that represented the likes of Tom Kite, Lanny Wadkins, Davis Love the third, David Duval, and Justin Leonard. Pros Inc. was purchased by Octagon in the late 90s, and in 2003 Mac left to be Davis Love's full-time agent and create his own agency, Crown Sports Management. Mac also helped establish Sea Island as an epicenter for Tour pros and attracted talented players such as Jonathan Byrd, Lucas Glover, Brandt Snedeker, and Brian Harman. In 2013 Crown merged with Lagardere Sports. Since leaving Lagardere in 2018, Mac has set out to reinvent the sports management approach with his new company Rock Sports by helping professional golfers maintain purpose, focus, and balance both on and off the course.

The Byrd family has a rich history in motorsports and around the city of Indianapolis. They took names like Rich Vogler and Stan Fox from the dirt tracks to the Indianapolis 500. Over the years, a who's who of racing has driven a car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway or dirt tracks around the country with the Byrd name on their car. This time on the show, I'm joined by Jonathan Byrd, who along with father Jonathan and brother David have been neck deep in motorsports for decades. Currently Jonathan is working to open Circle City Raceway in Indy with plans for a diverse schedule of dirt racing in 2021. We talk about the origins of the track, what to expect in 2021, and his family's incredible motorsports past.

“Andy was a world beater during his junior and college golf days,” Walker told PGATour.com. “(Lucas) Glover, (Charles) Warren and (Jonathan) Byrd, all these guys playing on Tour, were the names I heard growing up, and Andy Sanders was right up there with them.” Really special guest on today. I played college golf with Andy at University of Houston. We were roommates actually. He introduced me to my wife back in 2000. He was a groomsmen at our wedding in 2003. Andy was also the #1 player on our team, and was blazing a path to the PGA Tour, when a series crazy events forever changed his life. We see each other once a year now, each time he and Jimmy Walker roll through town for the Shell Houston Open. This year, if they play the SHO, they will do it with Jimmy as reigning PGA champion, which is also how they will enter the next week at Augusta for the first major since Baltusrol back in late July: The Masters. Topics Include: -Andy's Story -> http://bit.ly/2ko6V8v & http://bit.ly/2knXWEr - Butch Harmon & yearly goals for his stable of Tour players - The Masters - Tiger Woods - PGA Championship - PGA Tour Shot Tracker - The double edged sword of statistics - The importance of a good team - Winning the '16 PGA Championship - Playing Speedgolf at Tiger's event in the Bahamas ***** Thank you for listening, thank you for sharing, thank you for liking and subscribing and leaving reviews. Though the music of Kat Eggleston shines its light widely, it strongly reflects the light & love passed on from her parents, particularly her Dust-Bowl-raised father. He bequeathed to Kat loads of creativity and his eventual home on Vashon Island, in the rainy Northwest. Kat's guitar, lyrics, and voice are all first rate and, as Jonathan Byrd comments, 'She kicks so much ass she has to buy new shoes.' Kat & others will be performing The Cyclone Line, a musical dedicated to her father, presenting the first weekend of November, 2016, at the Vashon Center for the Arts.
Jonathan Byrd hails from North Carolina, AKA North Cackalacki, and his music has home and depth and hurt and celebration. He doesn't shy from the facts but he's skillful with an image or metaphor as well, bringing listeners the best of both sides of experience.
