Text: Prov 20:8-9 ESV8 A king who sits on the throne of judgment winnows all evil with his eyes.9 Who can say, “I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin”?-Prov 20:8-9 ESVGOD'S JUSTICE & MAN'S IMPERFECTIONIt is the ideal for kings to exercise equity and justice. “It is an abomination to kings to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness.”(Prov 16:12). The role of "king" should be grounded in godliness and justice (Prov 8:12–15; 14:34; 29:14). Solomon is speaking firsthand as a king himself. He had been given a special dose of wisdom from God (1 Kings 3:9–12). His eyes could separate those telling the truth from those who were lying. Here, this is compared to the "winnowing" process whereby the grain is separated from the chaff.Jesus is the Judge (James 5:9). In Matthew 25:31–46, Jesus will judge the nations during His Second coming.. As the all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-wise Judge, He will divide believers from unbelievers, rewarding His people and punishing those who reject Him. The book of Revelation shows readers the great white throne judgment. When this takes place, all unbelievers throughout history will be appropriately tried for their sins and cast into the lake of fire. While earthly judges have finite knowledge and are subject to error, Jesus has infinite knowledge and cannot make a mistake. His judgment is flawless—there will one day be a perfect "winnowing" of all evil. He knows all men.[John 2:25]The next verse is a question based upon the truth that God is the perfect Judge. It's possible for a person to be "blameless" in the sense that others could not find reasons to criticize their morals (Job 1:1; Psa 15:1–2; Luke 1:6; Phil 2:15; Titus 1:6–7). But, can a person claim that he is morally perfect in the eyes of God? Definitely, not! His heart is deceitful. [Jer 17:9] All are sinners. (Rom 3:23). Purity in God's sight cannot be achieved by any man. It comes only to those who believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior (John 3:36). He is the only sinless man (Heb 4:15). His sacrifice at the cross is sufficient payment for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). Yet only those who accept Him as Savior receive forgiveness and cleansing (John 3:16–18). Revelation 1:5 ascribes praise to Christ as the one "who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood." Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:21: "For our sake [God] made [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."-------------------------Visit and FOLLOW Gospel Light Filipino on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram

As the third of eight children in an Irish Catholic family, future Deputy Chief Administrative Judge James P. Murphy picked up a lot of skills early on that would come in handy when he undertook the daunting task of overseeing day-to-day trial court operations in 57 of New York's 62 counties and put him in charge of 640 judges and 6,000 non-judicial employees: teamwork, collaboration, humility, group dynamics and a keen understanding that the interests of the clan as a whole outweigh those of any individual. Judge Murphy, who was appointed last year as the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for the Courts Outside New York City, discusses his background and management approach in a new Amici podcast. If you are interested in learning about assets, liabilities, doodads, and more, James recommends reading Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. How do you define being rich or wealthy? How can someone grow their wealth? What hinders you from wealth creation? The common misconceptions in regards to money. These are all things we discuss in our conversation. In addition, "Can you be wealthy without money?" the Your Honor segment gets spicy as we present our respective cases trying to persuade Judge James to rule in our favor. Kay leaves you with his opinion on how you can be above average when it comes to wealth. We close the show out with Information a guru would make you pay for as Kai urges anyone thinking of buying a puppy online to think twice. Should we judge or not? It is a common refrain to hear people say, "Don't judge me." But when the Bible says not to judge, does it really mean that we can never make a stand on what is right or wrong? Through this Bible study on James 4:11-17 you will learn when it is OK to judge and when it isn't. And you will be reminded that life is short and we should always seek God's will when making decisions.Full written Bible study on James 4:11-17https://studyandobey.com/inductive-bible-study/james-studies/james-4-11-17/Study and Obey James E-book (With Discussion Questions): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FTNPK2Q750+ Free Bible Study Guideshttps://studyandobey.com/Support the show (https://studyandobey.com/support/)

I'm thrilled to share this interview Chief Judge James Holderman (ret.) formerly of the Northern District and now a mediator at JAMS ADR. Externing for Judge Holderman in law school was an inflection point in my legal development, and I feel like I've been riding that wave ever since. It's rare to get a chance to sit with a federal judge and explore lessons from 30 years on the bench. We talked about his upbringing on a farm in Southern Illinois and some of the surprising legacy that's had on his judicial career. We discussed how he wielded authority from the bench, and the hardest task he faced on the bench. Judge Holderman shared some of his prescriptions for improving how federal litigation is conducted.

The Local Lens is a public health podcast going inside one community's experience with the drug epidemic. Everyone in the town of Stanton, KY sees this drug issue differently from each other, either because of their personal lives or professional roles. This show aims to showcase those different perspectives through having honest, in-depth interviews with a new guest each episode. Our local Judge Executive, James Anderson, joins the show for this episode to specifically cover the financial impact of addiction on our community. From his seat, he sees the connections of all the county's governmental activity better than anyone else. As a result, he sees how much of our limited resources available go towards addiction. His call is not to stop addressing addiction, but rather to seek for ways to truly reduce the presence of addiction in Powell County in the first place, and to call more people to care about the issue. He explains how it really does impact everyone in our town and how it is truly every person living here. These are our people, using our voices, telling our stories, because no one sees it like we do.Keep up with The Local Lens on Facebook and Instagram. The Local Lens is sponsored by Kentucky Opioid Community Healing (from the Kentucky Rural Health information Organization) and Powell County CARES (from the Powell County Health Department).
