As a former buyer for my own Retail store I got to meet some amazing brand owners and see some absolutely stunning collections each and every season. Walking into the most amazing French inspired trade event 12 years ago (Mama and Papa) I spotted a beautiful collection of girls dresses, sequins, tulle and embroidery from the brand Bella and Lace.   Now anyone who knows me will know I flocked to those gold stars and sequins pretty fast.  I got to meet Kate, the owner and designer of a brand new Brisbane children's fashion brand called Bella and Lace.  That was it- I ordered the range for my store and continued to do so until sold it a number of years later.  Kate and I have been catching up at trade events ever since.  Part of my conversations with brands long after I had sold my store was where the foray into consulting started.  I would be offering tips and guidance for them to grow and how to sell DTC or Wholesale and what the latest Instagram marketing tips were (at the time).  Kate has been a friend and client now for many years.  And having insight into her brand and how amazing and gorgeous it is I knew I wanted to get her to share her story.  Welcome to the enchanting world of Bella & Lace, a whimsical brand of children's clothing and accessories that captures the magic and wonder of childhood.  Kate sells the brand around the world and wholesale is her main revenue stream.  She is a multi 6 figure company and has continued to evolve and grow and adpat t market conditions. Passion and using your skill set are key in starting and growing a brand.Adapting and evolving with the industry is crucial for long-term success.Wholesale is an important channel for reaching customers and growing sales..Building relationships and showing longevity are important in the wholesale industry. Speaking to This is Us star Chrissy Metz - Jane's guest today is the phenomenally multi-talented Chrissy Metz, the actress, author and singer who played Kate Pearson in the ultra-popular NBC drama series, This Is Us, for which she earned both Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations. In addition to working on numerous other films and TV series, she recently released her memoir, This is Me, which debuted at #1 on the NY Times Bestseller List! People magazine named her to the "Ones to Watch” and “50 Most Beautiful People” lists. Yet with all these acting and writing accomplishments, music is her first love. Not only has she performed at the Grand Ole Opry and Bluebird Café, but she has an EMI Nashville recording contract and is working on her debut country album. And if all that isn't enough, Chrissy is the owner of the Joyful Heart Wine Company and has just completed a seven-city tour for Live at City Winery. Despite all this success, Jane will talk to Chrissy about her personal struggles as she rose to these peaks, her panic attacks and her coping methods, and how This is Us finally broke down the real issues of inadequacy, codependent relationships and living in the shadows. Chrissy also discusses her tendency to self soothe with food and how therapy helped her work past that. All in all, listeners will be inspired and motivated to not only follow their dreams, but to become fitter and healthier by making stronger and wiser choices to become Better Than Before.

We Regret To Inform You: The Rejection Podcast

Chrissy Metz is Kate Pearson. No, really. When the script for This Is Us crossed her desk, she couldn't believe the similarities. Naturally, she was cast and the series became a runaway smash hit - catapulting Metz to stardom and an Emmy nomination. But before landing the role, Metz was an agent in Hollywood watching her clients land part after part while she struggled to make rent. She was rejected for auditions based on her body type, unless, of course, her body type was the butt of the joke. Then she heard about open auditions for American Idol. They are both well aware of the fact that human beings receive the majority of our life sources from mother nature and this is via the main concept of our planet… Mother ocean. Allowing people the opportunity to connect with nature gives them A resource and an outlet. Both of these individuals speak about the importance of being able to connect with the ocean and how much life it gives to our species on this planet.  Influential motivation and inspiration both come from our ability to foster what is deep inside of ourselves.  We all know that experiences are what pave our path to enjoying our reality.  In this episode with Kyle Corbett and Kate Pearson we hear a great deal of information about how the ocean and spending time outside in nature can positively influence our own interactions with other people as well as our own feeling of self worth. Tune in and be motivated. These two individuals have brought thousands upon thousands of people individually and tens of thousands of people through their organizations out onto the water to connect with the ocean.  They have given them the opportunity to have the experience that brings amazingness to their lives.  The core feature here is the ability to experience the outdoors and what feelings it can bring to individuals and families. We always like to mix it up a little bit here in For the Love Podcast world, and we hope you’ll be the happy beneficiaries of this bonus episode! We got the chance to catch up with one of our faves--the beautiful and talented Chrissy Metz--who plays the role of Kate Pearson on the beloved, boo-hoo-every-week hit television show, This Is Us. Chrissy shares a little about how she got her start, and in the process cheers on the late bloomers among us and those who may be tired of living in the shadows. She goes on to talk about the powerful movie she recently starred in called Breakthrough. In this true life story, she plays the role of a mother, who after everyone told her her son wouldn’t survive a terrible accident, decided to believe that he could. Chrissy experienced a similar situation after her own mother suffered a stroke, and relates how the role echoed her real life crisis. Chrissy is a champion for being vulnerable--as an actor, and as a woman--and is a model for what it means to finally believe in yourself and take a leap of faith.

What a privilege it is to be able to chat with an actress I have admired for so long! I don't watch a lot of TV, but I'm hooked on "This Is Us" and adore the character of Kate Pearson! When I heard Chrissy Metz is starring in a new movie, "Breakthrough" out on April 17, I was really eager to talk to her about it!  We were joined by producer, DeVon Franklin, who coincidentally produced an animated Christmas movie I had a few lines in, "The Star." It was fantastic to get to connect with them both! Join me on this episode of LOVE SOMEONE with Delilah, where I barely contain my excitement over being able to talk with these two!  "Breakthrough" based on an amazing true story,  is a moving testimony to the power of prayer and love of family and community! ~ Delilah Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers

New Retirement Radio with Dennis Prout Podcast

For years you’ve imagined that the money you have, the retirement accounts you've accrued and your properties will go directly to your children and grandchildren. Then, by surprise, another cause captures your attention. It’s a non-profit that beats at the same rate as your own heart.  Like your own children, its mission lights something up inside of you. Not only can you impact your family, you can impact your community for generations to come. There’s only one problem ... you haven’t figured out how to explain the change of plans. Ideally, you’d like to include your children in giving. Is it possible? One advisor thinks so.  Charlie Jordan coined the concept, “Charitable Inheritance” where he sets up Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) that are set aside for “inheritance dollars” – money earmarked for charity after a client’s death to be administered by the children.   Not only are we going to discuss what this can look like, we are interviewing Kate Pearson from the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy to discuss what it means to impact generations to come with planned giving.

By this point in most seasons, the usual names appear at the top of conferences races and conversations surround the usual suspects. Not the case this year. There are new names at the top, or in the mix, of conferences around the country. That excitement is what is driving the 2017-18 season and makes any night in Division III must-watch. On Sunday's episode of Hoopsville, Dave talks to some new face leading or in the mix in their respective conferences from four or the regions around the country. Can these teams keep their success through the end of the season or has the challenge just gotten that much more difficult as the second half of conference schedules begins.  There is also some Top 25 discussion to be had. Ryan Scott makes his weekly appearance in "Top 25 Double-take." Hoopsville is presented by D3hoops.com and airs from the WBCA/NABC Studio. A reminder that Sunday shows tend to focus on the Northeast, Atlantic, South, and Central regions primarily. If you have questions, feel free to interact witht he show (information to the right) or send an email (hoopsville@d3hoops.com) and maybe have your question be featured on the Hoopsville Mailbag segment. Guests include (in order of appearance): - Rusty Rogers, Concordia-Chicago women's coach - Adam Stockwell, No. 14 Hamilton men's coach  - Kate Pearson, Cabrini women's coach - David Smith, Methodist men's coach - Ryan Scott, "Top 25 Double-take"

One admission can change your life...forever. When ambitious grad student Kate Pearson’s handsome French “almost fiancé” ditches her, she definitely does not roll with the punches, despite the best efforts of family and friends. It seems that nothing will get Kate out of pajamas and back into the world. Miraculously, one cringe-worthy job interview leads to a position in the admissions department at the revered Hudson Day School. Kate’s instantly thrown into a highly competitive and occasionally absurd culture, where she interviews all types of children: suitable, wildly unsuitable, charming, loathsome, ingratiating, or spoiled beyond all measure. And then there are the Park Avenue parents who refuse to take no for an answer.
