Jack Kloppenburg has been a leading figure in the fight to protect seed-sharing commons over the past forty years. It's a struggle that began in the 1980s as large ag-biotech companies have sought to make seeds privately owned and proprietary using all sorts of legal, technological, and market restrictions. Kloppenburg has been a professor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison since 1985 and a founder of the Open Source Seed Initiative. OSSI leads a movement of farmers, breeders, gardeners, and small seed companies dedicated to building a culture of openly shareable seeds and breeding innovation.

My guest this week is Coach Irene Kloppenburg from iMindcoaching. iMindcoaching helps people to free themselves from the negative triggers of past events. There is no need to relive the past by talking about it. This modality opens the way to then explore where you want to go in the future, break free of the chains of the past and find your path to personal transformation. During our conversation Irene shares about her journey from living on a commune in Norway to starting again in London, her studies with founder of the Dutch MatriX-method, Ingrid Stoop and building the practice she has today. https://imindcoaching.co.uk/ ---- HER Inspirations Podcast https://pod.link/165610196 HER Inspirations Mailing List https://bit.ly/45jQ7lH Work with me Creativity & Spiritual Life Coaching: https://www.carolmaewhittick.com/her-coaching Your Awakened Voice https://carol-mae-whittick.thinkific.com/courses/your-awakened-voice HER Courses https://carol-mae-whittick.thinkific.com/collections Connect with me Carol Mae Whittick website: https://www.carolmaewhittick.com/ Carol Mae Whittick Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cazmick/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Cazmick https://www.facebook.com/carolmaewhittick YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@CarolMaeWhittick LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolmaewhittick/ HER Conversations https://pod.link/1304558894 HER Inspirations https://pod.link/1656101961 Show your support: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/CMWhittick

What's Your Baseline? Enterprise Architecture & Business Process Management Demystified
The way how we communicate and learn has changed over the last couple of years. One contributing factor is podcasting (or videocasting - we are no purists over here at What's Your Baseline?). By now there are tons of excellent podcasts about Business Process Management, Process Mining, and Enterprise Architecture out there free of charge for you. We thought that it was a good idea to look at this phenomenon and invited three former guests of our show who also run their successful podcasts to discuss the impact of podcasting for our discipline. Listen to our panel session with Josèphe Blondaut, Mirko Kloppenburg, and Jakub Dvořák. In this episode of the podcast we are talking about: Why did our guests start their podcasts? Which hurdles did they encounter? Do you think podcasting is relevant for the discipline and how is their audience's reaction? What were favorite moments from their podcasting days? What has podcasting done for you, your career, your company, and how did you see this realized and measured? How do you increase reach? What are some hard earned best practices that helped propel the success in podcasting? If you like to connect with our panel you can find them here on LinkedIn: Jakub Dvořák, Josèphe Blondaut, and Mirko Kloppenburg. Please reach out to us by either sending an email to hello@whatsyourbaseline.com or leaving us a voice message by clicking here.
I had a fun beginning this week in preparing for the episode. I had just listened to a recording of Thomas from the summer of 1975. Since it was a beautiful summer morning here, I decided to sit out on my patio. I could hear the birds chirping in the trees and then the nearby church bells started ringing. This was a nice reminder, of our early days, living in Nienburg, Germany. Speaking of the bells, that's how Thomas began his tape recording, to his mother. He says its is 4:50 am and he is sitting under a tree listening to the birds. He was in the town center of Kloppenburg, with Peter, for the flea market. They had a long wait until the official opening time at 6:30 am. So this is how he started the day; “I was able to recognize God's workings in my life and give Him honor, and thank Him. I experienced that the key to finding joy is to give thanks in all things. For all things, from the depths of my heart. Because He is good and He holds us in His hands.” Because the town Kloppenburg, was 60 miles away from Nienburg, Thomas and Peter, arrived the night before and slept in the van. They went every weekend, to a different town, to sell their leather wares. They travelled at night, so they could be first in line, to get a good spot for setting up their table. Thomas had gotten in the habit, of taking our little tape recorder with him, knowing they would have a long wait. He had started doing that, back at Living Waters, when he went alone on a trip to Eureka. He was always looking for an opportunity, to encourage his mother, and share with her what he was learning. In closing today, That month of August (1975), was quickly bringing new developments, for our ministry goals. Though our circumstances in the farmhouse were pretty good, there was still the question; "Where could we house more people when a second team comes from California? And the most important question was; "Is Nienburg the right place to start a church in Germany?" Bye for now friends!

What's Your Baseline? Enterprise Architecture & Business Process Management Demystified
We talk (a lot) about technology and processes here on the podcast. But what about the human side of Business Process Management? Do we just forget them and aim for the desired outcome no matter what? No, we don't ... In this episode of the What's Your Baseline podcast we speak with Mirko Kloppenburg, who started his own company and project "New Process Lab" a few months ago after 20+ successful years at Lufthansa Group. To start the New Process Lab, he linked the often fuzzy New Work ideas with tangible processes. As symbiosis of Process Management and New Work, the “New Process” approach was created. It adds a human-centric mindset to the already proven BPM tools and methods we know from the past. The exchange about New Process has shown him that there is a great need to explore these ideas more deeply. To do this, he created the a platform to build a community, to perform experiments, and to share experiences. The NewProcessLab.com is driven by the purpose to empower you to rethink your process. In addition, he started the New Process Podcast to explore new ways to rethink processes and to share his journey with you! We are talking about these topics: • Mirko's background and his revelation that it is all about the people when doing process management • The New Process principles: trust the people, involve the people, foster the development of people, give meaning to the people • Inspire people for process by community building, focusing on experience design, and being a process influencer • Examples of the New Process principles • How to bring the principles to life • The New Process lifecycle You can find Mirko on LinkedIn here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mirkokloppenburg/.

Brad Friedman of Brad Blog and Emily Levy of Velvet Revolution reported on the April 5 Wisconsin Supreme Court election and subsequent recount, and Emily asked for volunteers to help in the effort to challenge the election and the recall. Brad Friedman: The recount of the election for Wisconsin Supreme Court seat between Joanne Kloppenburg and incumbent David Prosser has ended with Prosser said to be some 7000 votes ahead. Kloppenburg has until Monday, May 30 to challenge recount, and to be successful, would have to show that at least half that number should be removed due to irregularities. The hard-fought, closely watched election and recount revealed a fatally flawed election system in Wisconsin, with poor procedures, a broken chain of custody for ballots, and apparently incompetent election officials from top to bottom. It's up to Kloppenburg whether she wants to pursue the challenge, and Velvet Revolution and others have been trying to convince her to do it - if not for her own election, then to draw attention and energy towards election reform in Wisconsin. With vital recall elections coming up for Republican henchman of Scott Walker, it's imperative that citizens get on the case. Emily Levy: Emily is asking for about 30 volunteers to read the official "minutes" of the recount in Wisconsin's 72 counties and record irregularities into an online spreadsheet in order to make the case for the challenge. We'll see what we can do. We took a quick moment to mention the multi-state Republican voter suppression campaign of passing bills in state legislatures to require voters to provide photo ID at the polls, etc. - also reported at Brad Blog.
