Een speciale NOS Voetbalpodcast, live vanuit de Kuip, waar Go Ahead Eagles zojuist voor de eerste keer in de clubgeschiedenis de KNVB-beker heeft gewonnen.  AZ werd na het nemen van penalties verslagen. Hij begon aan het Amsterdamse voetbalavontuur, niet wetende dat hij een van de grootste clubiconen van Ajax zou worden.Vanaf 1994, toen Litmanen een basisplaats in het eerste elftal had veroverd als opvolger van Dennis Bergkamp, merkten de zwangere Ajaxfans hem op. Sepasang pemuda dan pemudi berencana untuk menikah di tahun baru yang sebentar lagi datang, 2025. Ini adalah rencana yang ketiga kalinya. Hari terakhir tahun 2024 adalah hari untuk mereka berdua saja supaya dapat membuat refleksi dan membaharui komitmen. Ini adalah hari pembatas yang mengingatkan mereka akan komitmen pilihan untuk menikah.   Sudah tiga tahun rencana itu ditetapkan namun gagal untuk diwujudkan. Mereka menarik benang panjang hingga di penghujung tahun 2024, dan mereka memutuskan, bahwa tidak akan ada lagi benang yang panjang. Mereka hanya ingin melihat satu hari di tahun depan sebagai hari pernikahan, dan membuat segala persiapan untuk merayakannya. Fokus kepada satu pilihan, entah besar, sedang atau kecil, membuat kita sedang memaknai sebuah batas di mana dan saat kita berada. Pada hari ini kita ingin mengingatkan diri kita tentang batas itu.   Tetapi pembatas pada hari ini adalah puncak dari seluruh proses sepanjang tahun yang telah berjalan, di mana setiap orang mencapai sekian banyak pembatas di dalam perjalanan hidupnya. Misalnya, ketika ibu rumah tangga sedang memasak di dapur, terlintas di pikirannya untuk menyebar gosip tentang temannya di group whatsapp para ibu di lingkungan paroki mereka. Rupanya setan sedang menggoda dia. Jari-jarinya sudah siap untuk menuliskan gosip itu di ponselnya. Tapi pada saat yang sama suaminya telepon dan ingin bicarakan hal yang penting tentang keluarga.   Telepon dari suami adalah pembatas. Ada begitu banyak pembatas di dalam relasi, interaksi dan tindakan kita setiap hari. Manfaat pembatas ialah mencegah, menahan, memberi interupsi, dan mengoreksi kita untuk meneruskan sebuah kecenderungan ke jalan yang negatif atau masuk ke dalam dosa. Santo Yohanes di dalam suratnya yang pertama sungguh mengingatkan bahwa pada saat-saat terakhir yang kita hadapi, firman Tuhan hadir di tengah-tengah kita. Firman itu berkata bahwa kita yang mengikuti Kristus adalah telah diurapi oleh Bapa, untuk menjadi bagian dari Kristus di dalam Roh Kudus. Itu adalah peringatan supaya kita menetapkan batas yang tegas  untuk menyingkirkan pengaruh anti Kristus.   Terang yang adalah Tuhan sendiri, yang melalui sabda-Nya untuk menghidupkan dan  menerangi kita, mengingatkan kita di hari terakhir tahun ini, supaya kita dibebaskan dari bayangan gelap, dari pengalaman-pengalaman yang sudah berlalu. Hari ini kita berdiri dan berada pada pembatas, dan kita ingin menegaskan bahwa tahun baru nanti adalah era baru yang kita masuki dengan semangat dan komitmen yang baru. Marilah kita berdoa. Dalam nama Bapa... Ya Allah maha baik, kami bersyukur atas tahun yang sedang berlalu ini, dan kami berharap segala kemurahan-Mu untuk tahun baru 2025 yang sedang kami songsong ini. Salam Maria... This is the time of year when most design professionals and clients alike tend to shut things down for the year. Kids come home from school for the Winter break, family comes to visit, we buy gifts for loved ones, attend holiday parties and I like to think that I am not alone in looking at the past year reflectively while looking to the new year with renewed optimism. 2024 was a fantastic year with regard to the show. Convo By Design has hit a higher gear this year. Going back to by background in motorsports, that means we have opened up new opportunities and are running faster and harder than ever before. The post-pandemic world is different that it was prior. Some issues have emerged this year that I find disturbing. Natural disasters, climate change, weather patterns have all accelerated. It isn't really about if people believe or remain climate change deniers. Ignore these changes at your peril. I experienced something in 2023 that forever changed the way I feel about climate changes. Father's Day, 2023, there was a straight line wind event in Tulsa. 100 mile per hour winds for 30-minutes. You can imagine the destruction. My family was fine, but others were not as fortunate. As I write this, a series of hurricanes passed through the southeast and the devastation was tremendous. We are also saw a dock workers strike, a fierce election season which will once again separate families and end friendships. And as I say this, I cannot help but feel optimistic for the year to come. Why? I'll tell you, rights after this. Why the optimism? First, I have been incredibly fortunate. I have my family, my health, you… yes you, I am so thankful that you listen, even happier when you send an email to let me know you like the show, disagree with something I said or have a guest suggestion. The Telecom Act of 1996 changed so much, for me…and you. Most of the people I speak with these days don't listen to the radio, and that is unfortunate for radio, but not for all of the incredible audio programming that we have available. If there was no Telecommunications Act of 1996, radio stations would probably still be in the hands of individual owners instead of the 10 groups that almost every American radio station. When I was a teenager, growing up in the Valley. I listened to KLOS, KMET, KNAC and KROQ. Play a song for me and I can tell you about how old I was and what I was doing when it was popular. KMET and KLOS created a love for Guns & Roses, Motley Crue, Giant, Scorpions and Van Halen, KNAC sharpened the rock edge with Metallica, Ozzy, Anthrax and Megadeth. Then KROQ, my beloved KROQ.

Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Minggu, 18 Agustus 2024 Bacaan: "Masakan Aku tidak dapat bertindak kepada kamu seperti tukang periuk ini, hai kaum Israel!, demikianlah firman TUHAN. Sungguh, seperti tanah liat di tangan tukang periuk, demikianlah kamu di tangan-Ku, hai kaum Israel!" (Yeremia 18:6) Renungan: Yeremia diutus oleh Tuhan untuk mewartakan hukuman pembuangan bangsa Israel ke Babel. Berita penghukuman yang keras ini sulit dimengerti oleh bangsa Israel, juga oleh Nabi Yeremia sendiri. Untuk memahami maksud di balik berita penghukuman ini, Tuhan menyuruh Nabi Yeremia untuk pergi ke tempat tukang periuk. Di sana, Nabi Yeremia menjumpai tukang periuk yang sedang membentuk bejana dari tanah liat dengan tangannya. Proses pembentukan bejana ini tidak dicatat secara rinci oleh Alkitab, namun kurang lebih proses pembentukan bejana tanah liat pada zaman itu tidak berbeda jauh dengan zaman sekarang. Kalau kita perhatikan prosesnya, kita akan melihat bahwa tangan tukang periuk hampir tidak pernah lepas dari tanah liat yang dibentuk. Jari-jari dan telapak tangannya senantiasa memberikan tekanan-tekanan untuk membentuk bejana sesuai yang diinginkannya. Sekali-sekali salah satu tangannya dengan cepat akan mengambil sedikit air untuk membasahi tanah liat agar mudah dibentuk. Namun secara keseluruhan, tangan tukang periuk akan terus membentuk tanah liat hingga menjadi bentuk bejana yang diinginkannya. Tukang periuk yang hampir tidak pernah melepaskan tangannya dari tanah liat yang dibentuk, menggambarkan juga tangan Tuhan yang terus-menerus menopang dan menyertai umat-Nya. Walaupun pada saat itu bangsa Israel akan menghadapi pembuangan karena dosa mereka, tetapi Tuhan akan menyertai dan menopang mereka. Dalam keadaan apa pun, bahkan dalam masa pembuangan pun, Tuhan tidak pernah meninggalkan umat-Nya. Kata "menopang" bisa dipahami seperti pilar tembok yang menopang sebuah rumah atau gedung agar tetap bisa berdiri dengan kokoh. Dalam kehidupan iman, ketika kita mengalami pergumulan, kesulitan ataupun dukacita, kita merasa Tuhan jauh dan meninggalkan kita. Tentu saja itu hanya perasaan kita yang dapat membohongi kita. Namun faktanya, melalui kisah tukang periuk ini, kita melihat bahwa Tuhan tidak pernah melepaskan atau meninggalkan kita. Tangan-Nya akan selalu menyertai dan menopang kita dalam keadaan apa pun. Oleh karena itu, jangan mudah mempercayai perasaan kita, tetapi percayalah kepada firman-Nya dan kepada Tuhan senantiasa. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa: Tuhan Yesus, terima kasih atas penyertaan-Mu yang selalu Engkau berikan kepadaku, sehingga aku kuat menjalani proses imanku. Amin. (Dod).
