Send us a Text Message. This episode is a slam dunk for anyone craving an in-depth look at the strategies shaping the playoffs. We offer insights as we dissect the the Pacers-Celtics matchup, looking into how the Celtics can slow down the Pacers high powered offense. We also ponder of Kristaps Porzingis and the potential X-factors off the bench for both teams. As the shot clock winds down on this episode, our predictions take center stage. Will T.J. McConnell's craftiness for the Pacers stir the pot, or will the Celtics' depth prove too overpowering? We hash out which matchups could swing the series and debate the psychological edge of postseason experience. Support the Show.
Drew and Roth are snowed in together, so they're doing they're favorite snow day activity: podcasting. Now that football season is over, they're getting into the weird stuff: Darren Rovell going one-on-one with Kristaps Porzingas, wrestling with the idea that Biden can be president but maybe not drive, and why can't companies just create a good product and make money that way. And they dive into the Funbag, with real questions from real listeners. Do you want to hear your question answered on the pod? Well, give us a call at 909-726-3720. Carson Palmer calls in to clear up whether Dan in Carteret reached out to him to get a picture of his dog in a bed so that he could commission a painting for Eddie. We also talked about Boomer going into the Bengals Ring of Honor. We also talked about Zach Wilson and the Jets and Aaron Rodgers' rehab. Jerry is here for his final update and starts with a very odd Evan Roberts laugh. Shaun Morash rips off our ‘Pound Town' reference. The Knicks lost to the Celtics thanks to 30 points from Kristaps Porzingas. Rob Saleh talked about the Jets/Giants rivalry being good for sports talk radio. The Moment of The Day involves Sal & BT vs Carl Banks. In the final segment of the show, we played former Penguins coach Michel Therrien trashing his team but with a nice, French accent.
Hour 1 The Knicks lost their first game of the season as Kristaps Porzingis went off against his old team. We also lost the Marconi Award for Major Market personality and WFAN lost in the Sports Station of The Year category. The Knicks missed a ton of free throws last night. Gio said this will be the Knicks. Good enough to hang with the great teams, but not enough to beat them. BT & Sal got into it with Carl Banks yesterday about Kayvon Thibodeaux and Sal ended up cutting him off. Jerry is here for his first update but first Joanne called in. She is a listener and we met her yesterday at The Ear Inn in Manhattan. Jerry has sound from last night's Knicks season opening loss. The Nets also lost their season opener, 114-113. It looks like Daniel Jones is not going to play again. Sauce Gardner will play and Boomer is still calling it a ‘squash spot'. Brady Quinn called Deshaun Watson a trust fund kid but taking the Browns money and not playing. In the final segment of the hour, Funhouse went and found every pooch punt Boomer had in his career. Hour 2 Quarterback injuries continue to mount in the NFL. Both Brock Purdy and Jalen Hurts could miss playing time. Purdy is in concussion protocol and there seems to be some secrecy with Hurts' knee injury. Andrew Thomas has to come back for the Giants, even more so than Daniel Jones. Why is it that every throwback uniform looks better than their current uniforms? A caller wants to know if Gio wants Joel Embiid or to roll with the younger guys. Jerry returns for an update and has audio from Keith McPherson's reaction to the Sal/BT vs Carl Banks. Keith was not happy with the hosts. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls getting reaction from Sal & BT vs Carl Banks and Keith McPherson vs Sal & BT. Hour 3 We continued talking about Sal & BT vs Carl Banks and Keith McPherson vs Sal & BT. Boomer said people around here get heated about the dumbest things. We took a ton of calls on all the scuttlebutt between Sal, BT, Carl Banks and Keith McPherson. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio can't believe Boomer is eating 2-day old ‘listener cake'. Jerry went around the NBA last night. We heard audio from angry Phillies fans leaving the game after their NLCS loss to the Diamondbacks. In the final segment of the hour, a caller said Shaun Morash called Boomer a coward for not sabotaging the relationship between his daughter and Islander Matt Martin. Hour 4 Carson Palmer calls in to clear up whether Dan in Carteret reached out to him to get a picture of his dog in a bed so that he could commission a painting for Eddie. Robert Horry opens the show this week by talking about the Lakers losing a 17-point 4th quarter lead and losing to Indiana, and how the Lakers did not learn to give the ball to Anthony Davis when he's been their hottest shooter on the floor. Rob also talks about how good the Boston Celtics have been offensively because they've been moving the ball and sharing shots between their best guys. We also touch on the success of Joel Embiid recently in Philly, and Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingas putting it together in Washington. And Rob reacts to Bill Walton calling for him to be inducted into the Hall of Fame on ESPN this past weekend, and how he's almost speechless when guys of that stature offer up praise and respect. Plus a wild weekend in College Football spurs a ton of fun debate, another inspiring Big Shot of the Week, and some great questions that spawned from this week's biggest news stories in a round of Jump Ball.
A comparison that is great for a radio conversation but terrifying for the4 fans of DC sports. Two players that came onto the scene with an immense amount of talent and ability are now on their 3rd teams. Kristaps Porzingas is with the Wizards and Carson Wentz is a Commander. And if they cannot make these opportunities work, we are in trouble.
Daz and Dazz catch up on a Sunday evening to look back on a crazy trade deadline including the Mavs moving on from Kristaps Porzingas, the Harden-Simmons mega trade and smaller moves for teams looking to move into contention as the NBA nears the all star break for the 2022 season.
On this week's episode of Buckets, Kearns, Kyle and Besaw discuss the changes to the All-star lineups and the announcements of the All-Star event competitors. Afterwords the Buckets crew discusses potential trade options for the Mavericks' Kristaps Porzingas and the Rockets' Victor Oladipo. On a new show segments the boys take attributes from different players to build their version of the perfect point guard. As always, to wrap the show we have the Fantasy Fantasy Draft, this week's subject is MVP seasons. . . . Buckets LIVE on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Twitch on JDF Sports Wednesdays at 7:00p ET.

JJ Watt no longer a Texan. Goodness. As a neutral observer here - in general I want my friends to be happy - and I’ve got some friends that are Texans fans. Feel for y’all out there. J.J. Watt asked for his release and was granted that request. Gotta be the best player in franchise history right? For those of you that respond ‘Andre Johnson’, I totally respect it, but Andre Johnson didn’t win THREE player of the year awards on his side of the ball like Watt did. The impact he made after Harvey alone was enough to endear himself forever. $32 Million-plus raised when he was seeking 250,000. Watt doesn't turn 32 until March so you’ve got to figure there’s AT LEAST two good years left in the tank. He’s had the injury history. Where does it end now?
