By all means, join him, if you can. In 1932, according to the Yale Book of Quotations (yes, the same Yale that arrested Jewish kids this week for following the Shepherd), the Atlantic (yes, the famous liberal magazine that once, long ago, fought to protect Jewish kids) cited that ungodly saying (which is a much older saying) as uttered by a U.S. Senator. Once the Atlantic and then Yale published it, it became a colonial reference—just before many terrible things took place under its spell. That senator would have loved Philo or Josephus Flavius. The latter lived in Palestine and fought against the Romans but later decided, “if you can't beat ‘em, join ‘em.” “There was a tension,” Fr. Paul thunders,  “Between the originators of scripture and some of their followers.”“There was an intellectual fight.”Fr. Paul continues, “This took place in Alexandria. Remember, Philo was in Alexandria.  And that's the head of the Asp, as we say in Arabic.  It's Alexandria, which was the intellectual capital of the Roman Empire.”Against Alexandria, the Shepherd cries: If you can't beat ‘em, submit to God! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the Highest! Bring more evils upon them, O Lord. Bring more evils upon those who are glorious upon the earth.Arise, O God, judge the earth, for to thee belong all the nations. Blessed Pascha to all peoples. Brian Rast is an American poker player and winner of six World Series of Poker bracelets. Rast has been crushing it as a poker pro for well beyond a decade at the highest level. He's won in tournaments and in some of the biggest cash games in the world. He has won the $50,000 Poker Players Championship on three occasions and was inducted into the Poker Hall Of Fame in 20223. Rast was born in Denver, Colorado. He then moved to Poway, California where he graduated the Poway High School in 2000 as Valedictorian. After finishing High School Rast entered Stanford University, but dropped out rather soon in order to seek career as a professional poker player. Fight N' Rage Developer Interview! The Creation of the Best Modern Beat Em' Up! I'm very excited for today's guest, Sebagames, the developer of Fight N' Rage, my favorite Beat Em' Up of all time! In today's episode we discuss the history of the game, his story and motivation to get such a massive undertaking completed as a solo developer, and of course the possibility of a sequel and what the developers thoughts are on his "creative crisis" in regards to making a follow up. We also discuss classic arcade based design, such as Fight N' Rage, Alien Versus Predator, Final Fight verus the modern simon says style design of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder's Revenge, River City Girls, Scott Pilgram, and these types of games. Another aspect of the episode is talking about how insperational the story of Fight N' Rage can be for other indie developers, but how often the stories of indie devs are overlooked in favor of older studios like Square and their tale of creating Final Fantasy. Fight N' Rage at the time of this recording is on massive sale and I strongly strongly recommend picking it up on Steam, Good Old Games, Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox and wherever else the game pops up.

OctoRock (Adam) — Today at 9:46 AM My three favorite non-TMNT bmups are The Simpsons arcade game, Battletoads and River City Ransom. The Simpsons may actually beat out TMNT for me as far as the 4 player arcade experience goes. Just such a hilarious and well crafted game.  Battletoads speaks for itself, I'm not sure if it's a full blown bmup because of the platforming and speeder bike levels, but they teamed up with Double Dragon so that's gotta say something. River City Ransom is probably the only oddball here. A great semi-obscure NES game that thankfully a lot of people are now aware of thanks to River City Girls. One of my favorite NES titles and up there with Battletoads for me.   the Well-Red Mage — Today at 9:50 AM Shredders Revenge is AH MAH GAHHHHHHHH so good. A beat em up nobody gives enough love to is Fight N Rage. Seriously amazing.   ElPeeDee (Liam D) — Today at 10:09 AM mine has to be Batman Returns for SNES.  I loved the grabbing & throwing mechanics, breaking parts of the environment and the bat gadgets you could employ.  the sprite art was gorgeous and, while I hadn't even seen the movie at that point, I loved the characters   twodollarhero — Today at 10:25 AM For me, it's Scott Pilgrim.
