The Two Jess(es) start off Season 3 with a bang, and get really vulnerable about.....their faces. JessB gets really honest about what she sees going on under her eyes, and while way back in Season 1, she waxed poetic about aging and her right to eye bags, she has decided, she's done.In their quest for hearing all sides of the skincare story, and in an effort to appease their curiosity and get some answers to the burning question for almost every woman over 40: WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY F%&*ING FACE! And what can I do about it?JessK brings in THE EXPERT to answer ALL the questions, and these answers are brought to us by non other than her sister, Jennifer Daniels. Jennifer is a medical esthetician, and owner of The Med Spa (https://themedsparaleigh.com/) which is one of the top med spas in the greater Raliegh area. Jennifer generously offers her advice, and professional wisdom, as she patiently answers all of Jess and Jess' questions about prevention and correction, neurotoxins, fillers, creams, just to name a few. JessK shares her thoughts and experience around her own use with injectables, and the thought process behind it. The constant conundrum of aging gracefully with authenticity, or with the assistance of modern science, the largest organ of our body and how we care for it is always cause for interesting, and sometimes heated, conversations!Meet Jennifer!“Beautiful skin is attainable for everyone and finding the right balance of products and treatments for clients is what I do best.  A skincare routine just has to work for you.  I am a product enthusiast, and I'm always researching how ingredients react with other components to achieve the optimal skincare regimen.”After her daughter started kindergarten, Jennifer decided she needed a change from her decade-plus career in sales and marketing. She wanted to follow her lifelong passion for skincare and layer on to her B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University. She went back to school, graduated top of her class in Esthetics at Miller Motte College and went on to acquire Laser Certification at the Laser Institute in Albany, NY.  Jennifer has been affiliated with Raleigh Plastic Surgery Center since 2008 and began The MedSpa in early 2013.Jennifer is wholeheartedly committed to the improvement of clients' skin and addressing their skin's appearance  and concerns. Her favorite part of her job is conversing with patients to get insight into their wants, needs and expectations about aging, sorting through the myriad of products on the market and their skincare goals.  “Integrated skincare performed with integrity” it's a mantra Jennifer embodies and what has landed The Medspa as one of the top rated medical spas in the Triangle.Favorite beauty service: Eyelash tinting! The best way to make your eyes pop (of course after you use Latisse or Revitalash to grow long lush lashes!)Favorite skincare product: Hydrating B5 gel by Skinceuticals hands down! Comprised of Hyaluronic acid, EVERYONE can use it. Everyone needs it! Hydrates to create supple, flawless skin—I have used HA for a decade!Support the show (http://www.paypal.com)

One thing I love about this space is your willingness to dive in deep with me on topics that affect us every day but don't get much air time anywhere else. That's why I invited today's guest Jeannie Cunnion to join me. Jeannie is on a mission to help women embrace the freedom found only in Christ.  With the release of her latest book Don't Miss Out, Jeannie shows us the impact the Holy Spirit can have on our lives, how we can welcome it into our daily routines, and the ways it can enrich our personal relationship with Jesus.  Jeannie is my friend, a best-selling author of four books, and a fellow mom of five boys. But more than that, she's made it her life's work to help women and parents connect with the Lord on a deeper level so they can live in the power of the Holy Spirit.  I know you'll get so much out of our conversation. Hang around until the end to hear all about:  The job of the Holy Spirit, including how it sanctifies, strengthens and sustains us in our walk of faith..  Our influence on the ways we hear the Spirit and what we can do to hear it more often.  Identifying your spiritual gifts and why it's critical that you name it and put it into practice.  Favorite quotes:1. Jesus relied on the Holy Spirit and the disciples needed the Holy Spirit. So why do we today think that we can or should do anything without the power of the Holy Spirit? 2. I think people put their trust in Jesus. Then they think they have to follow Jesus in their own strength and it's their job to make their lives grow more and more in the likeness of Jesus when it's the Holy Spirit who sanctifies us. 3. It's so true that we are all filled with the Holy Spirit in the sense that we are given a spirit at salvation but so few of us are walking in the fullness of it. 4. Because He dwells in us and will never leave us, we can grieve Him. We can question. But we can never force him to abandon us. He is our seal of salvation and he is the most loyal companion. 5. When we recognize that the Holy Spirit is fully God. That He is also a divine person. The person of the Holy Spirit is with you. He has a mind, he has a will, he has emotions, he has this beautiful personality and he really desires to give you this deep sense of awareness of his presence to be a comfort to you. In this episode I answer this question: What books do you recommend for newlyweds? (36:54) Great things we discussed:  1. Jennie Cunnion 2. Don't Miss Out 3. Fresh Wind4. Rest On Us5. Surviving Savanah6. Believe For It7. Latisse 8. Standing Strong Hope you loved this episode! Be sure to subscribe in iTunes and slap some stars on a review! :) xo, Alli

We have a special guest on this week's episode, and we couldn't be happier about it. Sharon McMahon (@sharonsaysso) has taken Instagram by storm over the last few months - she is a funny, wise, non-partisan former government teacher - and she has created such a beautiful online community. Melanie and I have gotten such a kick out of following her and learning from her, so when it worked out for us to get to actually talk to her, we couldn't say "yes" fast enough. And listen - we cover a lot of ground. We talk about Sharon's informational, non-partisan approach to teaching people about government and democracy, we talk about how Sharon shattered Melanie's lifelong belief about Texas' ability to secede from the union, and we talk about how important it is to really listen to one another so that we can understand one another better - especially when we disagree (my favorite quote of Sharon's: "We cannot work for each other's mutual destruction"). We're also going to talk about make-up, and if you've seen Sharon's eyeshadow skills on Instagram, you'll understand why.  We'll also have our usual round of Five Favorites at the end of the episode (it's my turn this week!), and we'll be back next Monday with a new Five Questions (featuring our literary agent, Lisa Jackson) and our usual brand of shenanigans next Thursday on episode 230. I'll round out the discussion with insights into my absolute favorite mascara (affiliate link), plus provide some helpful tips on choosing just the right tube. To close out the show, you'll also hear a fun feature entitled "If I had a VCR, I'd record this." Thinking fondly of the days when a VHS tape recording of your favorite show was your best bet for "binge watching," I'm giving a little preview into what I think you should be watching NOW on Netflix! Giving patients the best outcomes while staying a leader in the industry is a goal all physicians strive to achieve. The problem, there hasn't been a central community where you could learn, ask questions, and network with others. The Aesthetically Speaking Podcast is designed to provide information and education to physicians and practitioners of cosmetic and laser non-surgical and non-invasive procedures.  Let's meet your hosts... Dr. Warren Seiler has been in private practice for more than 10 years in Birmingham, Alabama. His aesthetics center, Seiler Skin, solely specializes in cosmetic laser and injectable treatments. Dr. Seiler’s passion for these procedures led him to become a trainer and educator, and he has trained and examined practitioners in 11 countries in laser, injection and aesthetic procedures. He currently trains practitioners for Allergan—the maker of Botox, the Juvederm family of fillers, SkinMedica, Kybella and Latisse—and is one of the few expert trainers in the world for the popular Vampire® procedures. Adina Barnett is a Licensed Medical Aesthetician and Aesthetics Manager at Seiler Skin. She has her license in Cosmetology, specializing in Aesthetics. She is certified and trained in Skin Peels & Wound Management, Hyper- and Hypo- Pigmentation Management and Camouflage Make-up. Adina performs laser hair removal, Vampire Facials, Q-switch ND:YAG laser treatments, Exilis, HydraFacials, chemical peels and Dermaplane. Adina consults regularly with patients on Seiler Skin’s full line of medical-grade skincare products to help develop highly customized skin care regimens. Lastly, she is an integral part of Dr. Seiler’s training company, which helps physicians and practitioners advance their skills in aesthetic procedures.
