"Con code" is a set of unwritten rules among inmates that can carry serious consequences if broken. Some say it's fueling violence even behind bars. Jacob Suelzle, Regional President of the Union of Correctional Officers in the Prairies, joins the show to chat and give us a clearer picture of what's really going on and how this can be stopped.
Renford Farrier was past his parole date by decades, when he met a Halifax lawyer who changed everything. Ren's journey in and out of prison, and the friendship he found, is chronicled in this documentary by Jane Sponagle, called Ren & Emma. Please note this story does contain some strong language.
In this episode, I'm diving headfirst into one of the most controversial figures Britain has ever produced… Charles Bronson. From his early days on the streets, to a life defined by violence, defiance, and decades behind bars, this is the full story of how Bronson became known as Britain's most famous prisoner. The fights. The punishments. The endless time in solitary. The reputation that followed him into every prison he entered. But here's the real question, was it fair?In this video, I lay out the facts. No glorifying. No excuses. Just the reality of Bronson's life of crime and imprisonment, step by step. And once you've heard the whole story, I want to know what you think. Was Bronson a product of the system? Did the system create the monster it couldn't control? Or did he make every choice that led him there?Watch the full breakdown, then get involved in the conversation. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
What does life look like for Bryan Kohberger now that he's off the front page and locked inside one of Idaho's most restrictive prisons? In this episode of Hidden Killers with Tony Brueski, we go inside the Idaho Maximum Security Institution—home to death row, long-term restrictive housing, and now, Bryan Kohberger. This is not general population. This is J Block. And the reality of Kohberger's existence there is bleak. We break down every confirmed detail of his day-to-day life: • 23 hours a day in a single cell • One hour of solo outdoor rec • Showers every other day • Movement only in full restraints • Commissary as his only “task” of the week • Surveillance on all calls, messages, and mail • Visitation through glass, if allowed at all Using official records from the Idaho Department of Correction and verified reporting, this is a deeply researched, fact-driven look at the institutional monotony, isolation, and psychological erosion that defines Kohberger's life today. This isn't a story of redemption, revenge, or rehabilitation. It's the slow, bureaucratic erasure of a man from public view—no longer a suspect, no longer a student, no longer in control. Tony Brueski guides you through this haunting portrait with the signature Hidden Killers voice: sharp, emotionally grounded, and relentlessly focused on truth over spectacle. Will Sean Combs Walk Free or Face Life Behind Bars Sean "Diddy" Combs now faces a future defined by one stark question: Will he regain his freedom or spend the rest of his life behind bars? The federal trial that's gripped national headlines brought allegations so severe they seemed straight out of a gritty crime drama—sex trafficking, racketeering, coercion, violence, and manipulation at the highest level of celebrity power. The prosecution, armed with graphic videos, emotionally charged testimonies, and meticulous financial records, has depicted Combs as the orchestrator of a sinister criminal enterprise. Yet, astonishingly, Combs' defense team rested their case without calling a single witness, not even the man himself. In this critical analysis, Eric Faddis, former prosecutor and prominent defense attorney, provides a unique insider's perspective on this risky defense tactic. Did Combs' attorneys confidently decide the prosecution failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt, or did they avoid the stand because they knew any testimony could damage their client's chance of acquittal further? Eric explores what impact the disturbing evidence—such as the graphic assault video involving Cassie Ventura—could have on the jury. Could the visceral shock of such images override any reasonable doubt in jurors' minds, pushing them toward a conviction, or will strict adherence to legal standards give Combs a chance at acquittal? With jurors set to deliberate, Eric details exactly what they'll consider, emphasizing how factors like juror psychology, clarity of jury instructions, and the defense's unorthodox approach could significantly influence the trial's outcome. As viewers anxiously await a verdict, this video serves as an essential guide, laying bare the complexities of this unprecedented courtroom battle, and the profound implications—legally, culturally, and personally—for Sean "Diddy" Combs. Is this the end of Diddy's freedom, or could he miraculously walk free? Will Diddy's Son Face A Life Behind Bars As Well? Did privilege and power create an untouchable family? Christian Combs, son of Sean "Diddy" Combs, faces civil allegations of sexual assault and battery during a 2022 yacht trip. The disturbing claims echo a pattern of alleged abuse and unchecked behavior tied to his father. Defense Attorney Bob Motta explores the complexity of privilege, upbringing, and personal accountability in a world where power can blur the lines of right and wrong. Was Christian just a product of his insulated environment, or does he bear full responsibility for his alleged actions? And how does this tie back to the growing list of accusations against Diddy himself? In the "Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski" podcast, retired FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke discusses the complexities of the Ashley Benefield case with Tony Brueski. Benefield is on trial for the murder of her husband, Doug Benefield, and claims self-defense. Dreeke highlights that understanding Benefield's mental state and context is crucial, especially her impulsive behavior and fear potentially stemming from Doug's past actions, such as shooting into the ceiling. This incident, testified by Doug's daughter Ava, may have contributed to Ashley's fear. Dreeke points out the disconnect between Doug's stable behavior and Ashley's erratic actions, suggesting that external influences, such as her upbringing, might have shaped her reactions. He notes that while Doug had an isolated incident of extreme behavior, Ashley's response escalated to lethal violence without a clear history of similar actions. Dreeke also questions the narrative provided by Ashley's defense, emphasizing the need to understand her perception of events, such as describing Doug's stance as a "warrior pose." The conversation touches on the broader implications of justice, considering the impact on Doug's and Ashley's daughters. Ultimately, Dreeke and Brueski explore the challenge of determining justice when actions stem from a distorted perception of reality. ### Main Points - **Understanding Context**: The importance of understanding Ashley Benefield's mental state and context. - **Self-Defense Claim**: Examination of Benefield's self-defense claim against Doug Benefield. - **Past Trauma**: The impact of Doug's past behavior, such as shooting into the ceiling, on Ashley's fear. - **Behavior Analysis**: Contrast between Doug's stable behavior and Ashley's erratic actions. - **External Influences**: Potential influence of Ashley's upbringing on her reactions. - **Narrative Examination**: Scrutiny of Ashley's defense narrative, including her description of Doug's stance. - **Justice Considerations**: The challenge of determining justice given the impact on the families and distorted perceptions. ### Relevant Hashtags #HiddenKillers #TonyBrueski #RobinDreeke #AshleyBenefield #DougBenefield #SelfDefense #BehaviorAnalysis Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
