His life, suffering, death and resurrection.Second, is repentance for the forgiveness of sin. Other than Jesus, this is the main message of Christianity.https://youtu.be/rFswFpQmAZc

Pastor Tommy bring us deeper in our series "Purpose & Passion," revealing what the primary message of our lives is as followers of Jesus: Christ and Him Crucified. One of the main reasons we have to keep the cross at the center of our life message is that the cross releases the supernatural grace of God into every area of our lives. The supernatural grace of God is an invitation – it brings us to the end of our own wisdom and righteousness in our own strength — to show us that our own power is absolutely inadequate in comparison to His presence and power.

In this series, we'll explore the principles, methods, and historical significance of expository preaching in Christian ministry. I'm your host, [Your Name], and I'm excited to embark on this journey of discovery with you.Episode Notes:In this inaugural episode, we begin with a preface that reflects on the challenge of public speaking and its role in effectively communicating messages. Initially I takes us on a personal journey, from my early fascination with Astronomy to my experiences in speech-giving, both good and not-so-good.As we move forward, you'll discover the foundation and framework for expository preaching that I have developed over 30 years of experience. I share my motivations for offering advice in this field and expresses his concern about the lack of expositional preaching in the modern evangelical church. One of the key takeaways from this episode is the fundamental structure of expository messages, which includes a Title, Scripture reference, Introduction, Main Message, and Conclusion. I highlights that while this may be the typical sequence in a sermon or message, the process often starts with message preparation, with the introduction and title emerging after the core content is developed.Importantly, I reminds us that the goal is not merely to create and deliver sermons but to cultivate effective preachers who can deliver these important biblical messages. Preaching is not the art of making and delivering a sermon, preaching is the art of making a preacher and delivering that.As we delve further into this series, we will explore the essence of expository preaching, its history, advantages, and disadvantages, as well as notable expository preachers who have left a significant mark on the world of Christian ministry. We'll also dive into the scriptural foundations for expository preaching, drawing inspiration from key passages in the Bible that emphasize the importance of delivering the Word of God with care and accuracy.Thank you for joining us on this journey of discovering the art of expository preaching. We hope this series will inspire and equip a new generation of preachers and communicators to make a lasting impact in their communities. Stay tuned for more enriching insights and practical guidance in the episodes to come. That's it for this episode of "A Guide to Preaching." Rav Steinman, zatzal , was once asked, what is the main message we should be focusing on and elaborating on at the Seder ? The Rabbi answered, “ Hashgacha pratit . To instill into our families the fact that Hashem is involved in every last detail of our lives. The Midrash tells us that during makat dam, if a Jew and a Mitzri were drinking out of the very same glass of water, for the Jew it was water while for the Mitzri it was blood. Part of the reason for that miracle was so that the Jewish People would see for themselves how far Hashem's hashgacha goes. Even in the same glass of water, Hashem is deciding exactly what each person tastes. The Sfat Emet in parashat Noach brings from Rav Uri m'Strelisk who said if someone believes that Hashem created water with the ability to extinguish fire, that is not complete emunah. Rather, a person has to believe that every moment Hashem is actively giving that power to every droplet of water in the entire world, and without Hashem doing that, the water would not extinguish the fire. Hashgacha pratit means Hashem is involved and in charge of every single aspect of the world at every second of the day. And if He is so intimately involved with inanimate objects, how much more so with us, His precious children. When a person recognizes how much Hashem is involved in his life, he will learn to appreciate all the little things that Hashem does for him, just to make his life more pleasurable. We say in the Haggadah , if Hashem would have split the sea and not brought us through on dry land, דיינו, it would have been enough. That means, if Hashem would have done that amazing miracle of splitting the sea, yet brought us through on slightly damp soil, that would have been perfectly fine, but Hashem went further to make sure that the experience was even more pleasurable, and the Jewish People walked through on completely dry land. The more we can find things to appreciate and thank Hashem for, the better our avodah will be towards Him. Recognizing Hashem's involvement and thanking Him are truly wondrous avodot. Rabbi Nachman Seltzer told a story about a woman, named Penina, who told him how she got remarried after waiting so long. One afternoon at the office in which she worked, a long-time client came in for an appointment, but before she went in, she stopped by Penina's desk to say hello. During the course of the conversation, she asked Penina how things were going with shidduchim. This client knew Penina had been divorced for quite some time and most probably was trying hard to get remarried, and so, out of true concern, she asked that question. Penina replied by saying nobody has been suggesting anything for her, and then she added, “Maybe they don't realize how difficult it is for me to be alone. Maybe they think I am so incredibly busy between work, and taking care of my seven children, that I don't have time to go out. Maybe they are thinking I don't want to get remarried. Honestly, I don't know what they are thinking, but I can't remember the last time anybody gave me an idea for a shidduch .” This client replied, telling Penina, that she just read a wonderful book about showing gratitude to Hashem and how much that reinforces emunah, and suggested Penina read it. Penina didn't really think she had any problems with emunah and wasn't sold on the book. A few days later, the client returned and handed Penina a gift – it was the book she was talking about. Penina was moved by the gesture and told the client she would read it. Slowly, Penina began appreciating more and thanking Hashem more, and eventually, she was even able to wholeheartedly thank Hashem for the hardships in her life as well, truly believing that they were also for her good. Shortly thereafter, she got two shidduch related phone calls from two friends whom she had put down as references years before. They were both suggesting the same man. And that man eventually became the one who she is happily married to today. Recognizing Hashem's hashgacha and thanking Him for everything He does is truly a valuable avodah. On the night of the Seder , we should put a special emphasis on Hashem's hashgacha and learn to appreciate it and thank Him more.
