Let's have fun and watch Max Keeble get revenge on his middle school bullies and then get stuck with all consequences.
For us, the action is the juice with a double feature for the ages, the very sort of pairing that fights for freedom and lives for love (IYKYK): Heat & Max Keeble's Big Move! But before we explore these insane moves- large and small- this edition's Blue Plate Special digs into recent ticket price hikes at AMC Theatres, M. Night Shyamalan's latest thriller Knock at the Cabin, the 2000 hyperlink landmark Amores Perros, and an Amazon order mix-up (not once but twice!!) that's destined to forever live in infamy. But the men of the hour (Pacino, De Niro, and Linz) inevitably make their presence felt in an action-packed discussion that covers the innumerable ways in which Heat is a classic, Max Keeble's Big Move is not, Jon Voight's hair, Larry Miller's lack thereof, and how both films, in their own way, serve as generational touchstones to criminals and dreamers in equal measure. When director Marc Forster was consulting with the frozen, re-animated head of Walt Disney about his plans for a live action Winnie the Pooh movie, Disney's only request was that this movie NOT have Pooh's name in the title, because he knew that our friend Kelp would not be able to stop giggling at the name "Pooh". Even though the movie ended up being titled Christopher Robin, Kelp unfortunately found plenty of opportunities to giggle about poo during the recording of this episode. In this one, Max Keeble gets more than he bargained for.
We all had that one friend in 7th grade who wore a robe to school every single day. We all had to deal with that one bully who charged us money to pee. We all saved an animal shelter from our evil school principal, while learning in the process that the real "big moves" were not the friends we made along the way, but the ones we already had to begin with. We all did all these things. We are all Max Keeble. In this one, one of us finally brings his flawless George W. Bush impression out of retirement.
