HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2023!!!In this episode, Kelle and Julz wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year!Kelle and Julz welcome back Charlemagne Tremont and she is here today to talk to us about Cacao Ceremonies.Charlemagne is a wealth of knowledge of the origin and uses of Cacao and the sacred ceremonies that go along with it.IxCacao is the name of the Goddess of the Cacao Tree, She is often spoken of as Mama Cacao.Zochiquetzal is the name of the Goddess who is the one who is the Alchemist in the magickal process of turning the cacao beans into the cacao beverages. The most important part of creating Cacao Ceremony is sourcing the best raw, unprocessed Cacao, this is truly ceremonial Cacao, not the processed chocolate that most are familiar with. Many different grades are available, and, unfortunately, not all are created equally, or are what they say they are. I sourced my Ceremonial Cacao from my teachers, it comes from small farms in Guatemala. The finest quality Cacao is bitter, very dark, traditionally served mostly unsweetened. In Meso-America, where much of the finest Cacao is naturally found, the basic beverage is made with water, finely ground Cacao, a little salt, and chilis, which activates the photochemicals in the beans and aids in absorption. Some spices might be added, commonly cinnamon, vanilla, occasionally some honey. If almonds were available, they might be chopped finely and added. This is not the sweetened, milky hot chocolate that we are familiar with - that was developed by Europeans who disliked the bitter ceremonial beverage and the rituals surrounding it. - which would have been unfamiliar and possibly frightening and strange to non indigenous people. Here are some lovely Cacao lcaros (Medicine Songs) to be sung and/or listened to while preparing and drinking your Ceremonial Cacao:Cacao Medicine Chants & Invocations for Healing - 3 of them woven together and beautifully sung my Maile Moon:https://youtu.be/EKiyW-mdkfcI often play this one on repeat, I find it so peaceful and greatly connected with Mama Cacao. This one is is more upbeat and modern:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_fdq2BV0q8Email: ct@pearlandpomegranate.comWebsite: pearlandpomegranate.comReferences:-For more information about Kelle Sparta or Kelle Sparta Enterprises:--https://kellesparta.com/learn-more-about-kelle/-Driveabout (Full Version) https://youtu.be/biD21gy6qZk--Written by: Kelle Sparta--Performed by: Kelle Sparta and Daniel Singer--Produced by: Daniel Singer-Keywords:Spirit Sherpa, Kelle Sparta, Transformational Shaman, Spirit Doctor, spiritual, spirituality, shaman, shamanism, ceremonies, cacao, goddess, goddess ceremony, chocolate, mythologyLicensing and Credits:“Spirit Sherpa” is the sole property of Kelle Sparta Enterprises and is distributed under a Creative Commons: BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. I'm delighted to have the wonderful Michael Leedy as the host of this conversation. This month we do a deep dive into how when we're in flow, the Universe orchestrates a divine plan to bring us our Soul's desires. I wanted to talk about the behind the scenes of 'Medicine Songs' and how the connections and Divine timing flowed together to bring the album to life. Once I started to think about how it all came together, I realised that the Universe started the orchestration process 11 years before the album release in 2022, which blew me away! To help me tell the story my dear friend Michael Leedy, who was my 1st Divine connection 11 years ago, shares his part in the process and asks some beautiful questions around how we can let go of attachment to be more in the flow, to receive our hearts desires. To receive what our Divine Inner child knows we really want. We end the show with some time for you to bring in some joy with the song "Inner Child, Creative Play" from 'Medicine Songs'. I hope you enjoy this playful chat as much as I did. Much love. To buy or stream 'Medicine Songs' https://lnk.to/medicinesongs You can find Michael Leedy here - https://www.michaelleedy.com

— “One of the great benefits of helping other people heal is that I get to witness the potency of compassion. A person shared with me a moment that had haunted her for decades. It was a circumstance where she not able to help a vulnerable person she loved. Since trauma is not in the event, it is in the body until it is resolved, then it does not matter that this moment was over 40 years ago. She was endlessly looping in empathy, which is sensing the state of another. If the person we are sensing is in a state of distress then through our mirror neurons, we feel distress. I suggested she move from empathy to compassion. Compassion is empathy + taking action to help (which can be sending our loving prayer). When we act from the desire to relieve suffering, we have moved from a passive state to an action state. The looping emotion was feeling helpless. I suggested, “Would you like to say the soothing prayer that you would have said to your person, had you been able to at the time, while I will sing caring to you.” I sang while she sent prayers of her love, reassurance, and kindness. The transformation was beyond what I had even hoped. She immediately had a new enlivening image of delivering her love. Taking this to the next level is delivering this love to ourselves. Can we include ourselves in the circle of people who need kind words? A self-critical voice is motivated by threat, a self-compassionate voice is motivated by safety. Pay attention to what is helpful. Organize your mind around compassionate self-talk and you will see benefits to your motivation, and your physical health. It will ripple out and add warmth in your relationship. Feeling connected to ourselves opens the door to feeling connected to others. Connection is the thread that weaves social belonging. When we have walked the long road to feeling compassion and belonging in our body, we are ready to take our next steps that uplifts human kindness. – Writes Robin Valeria Teles interviews Robin Aisha Landsong — the author of “Loving Bravely.” She is also a Transformational Speaker, Visionary Artist, Author, and Craniosacral Therapist. During a death experience at eight years old, Robin was called back to life by the Medicine Song of her beloved African mother. Robin then became able to hear the Medicine Songs from the land and the song each person carries within. She had a second death during the Rhodesian War in 1977. This opened her to become a Health Intuitive, and Medium. In observation of US-American “Thanksgiving,” known to its Indigenous population as a day of mourning, I wanted to provide a platform for that great Indigenous singer, composer, educator, and activist of Cree heritage, Buffy Sainte-Marie, who earlier this year turned 80 years old. In a career that has spanned more than 50 years, Buffy Sainte-Marie has lent her distinctive and powerful voice and exceptional song-writing skills to a breathtakingly broad spectrum of musical styles and idioms. From her earliest commercial release, 1964's It's My Way, to her most recent effort, 2017's Medicine Songs, Buffy Sainte-Marie has been on the cutting edge, wielding her distinctive voice with power and precision, always speaking truth to power and highlighting the experience of Indigenous peoples on the North American continent. The episode features live appearances on stage and television and also features contributions by Johnny Cash, Roberta Flack, and Joni Mitchell. Dare To Dream with Debbi Dachinger and guest R2-D2, Medicine Songs
Most of our Missing Witches episodes are inspired by words - books, articles, poems, spells, but the idea for today’s offering came from my record collection. We say Words are Spells a lot around here, but so too are notes, tones, music, vibrations, vibrato. Buffy Sainte Marie is another magical being who doesn’t show her witchiness through occult study, cauldrons, crystals or tarot cards, but rather, through a devotion to change, a reverence for nature, a recognition of the power of ceremony. The nerve to go her own way. She sang, “Magic is Alive” and claims that the core of her belief system is Creativity. So by me, and for this circle, this coven of stories and knowledge and healing, Buffy Sainte Marie is undoubtedly holy. A Medicine Woman, with Medicine Songs.
Singer Buffy Sainte-Marie tells us how her activist album "Medicine Songs" raises awareness about our place in today's world. Author Kim Dinan tells us how a yellow envelope a friend gave her set the tone for a three-year, round-the-world adventure. And listeners share concerns they have as they plan their next overseas travels. A joyful conversation with Canadian folk music legend Buffy Sainte-Marie. This spring, Buffy’s Medicine Songs took home the JUNO for Indigenous Music Album of the Year. She describes her 16th studio album as “a collection of front-line songs of unity and resistance.” Buffy shares her thoughts on the state of the protest song. Plus, the rise of Me Too and Times Up, and her reflections on the music documentary Rumble: The Indians who Rocked the World. Finally, we’ll hear about the moments after Hawaii's false ballistic missile warning was issued, and how she chose to spend what may have been her final moments on earth.

This episode of Ninth Wave starts with a Vancouver special. Dale Jacobs is a Vancouver jazz pianist who recorded an album on Main street in the city entitled "Live at Puccini's". The album is sought after amongst record collectors and continues to inspire as track 2 of samples this very record. Shout out to AstroLogical for the tip!Further in the programming I feature a couple songs from a friend and local emcee by the name of Panax, the second of which includes a verse from yours truly. After that I start getting into a groove with tracks from Brian Ellis, Masego, The Roots, Zaki Ibrahim, Tennyson, Patrice Rushen & more!At the end of this show, I give a warm shout out to Buffy Sainte-Marie who just released a new album entitled "Medicine Songs" and play an old 1963 hit of hers. Go get her album and make a point of discovering indigenous artists!See you next week!
