Join us as we get “Lost Outside of Belfast” when we take a 25-minute cab ride from the city center to Hinch Distillery in bucolic County Down. With Head Distiller Will Stafford as our guide, we explore the sensory journey of whiskey making from the meticulous process of mashing, fermentation, and distillation to savoring the heady aromas of the “angels' share” seeping from the aged wooden barrels shacked ceiling-high in the cavernous Hinch whiskey warehouse.Next, Claire McLernon guides us through a tasting of Hinch's range of whiskeys and its Ninth Wave gin, highlighting the different flavor profiles achieved through the distiller's alchemy and artistry.Founder Dr. Terry Cross then joins in to share what it takes to succeed in the increasingly competitive whiskey business and talks up the business opportunities he finds at the Belfast International Homecoming, a yearly marquee business event that your co-hosts attended the previous evening, which we'll explore in a future Irish Stew episode.Pull up a stool and join us for a happy hour at Hinch.Hinch LinksWebsiteFacebookInstagramLinkedInHinchDr. Terry CrossWill StaffordX Episode Details: Season 7, Episode 12; Total Episode Count: 115

Hounds Of Love invites you to not only listen, but to cross the boundaries of sensory experience into realms of imagination and possibility. Side A spawned four Top 40 hit singles in the UK, 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)', 'Cloudbusting', 'Hounds of Love' and 'The Big Sky', some of the best-loved and most enduring compositions in Bush's catalogue. On side B, a hallucinatory seven-part song cycle called The Ninth Wave broke away from the pop conventions of the era by using strange and vivid production techniques that plunge the listener into the psychological centre of a near-death experience. Poised and accessible, yet still experimental and complex, with Hounds Of Love Bush mastered the art of her studio-based songcraft, finally achieving full control of her creative process. When it came out in 1985, she was only 27 years old. Kate Bush's Hounds of Love (Bloomsbury, 2024) charts the emergence of Kate Bush in the early-to-mid-1980s as a courageous experimentalist, a singularly expressive recording artist and a visionary music producer. Track-by-track commentaries focus on the experience of the album from the listener's point of view, drawing attention to the art and craft of Bush's songwriting, production and sound design. It considers the vast impact and influence that Hounds Of Love has had on music cultures and creative practices through the years, underlining the artist's importance as a barrier-smashing, template-defying, business-smart, record-breaking, never-compromising role model for artists everywhere. Mayan calendar expert, renowned scholar, biologist and author  @carlcalleman Carl Johan Calleman, PhD. beams in to explore the origins of consciousness, the evolution of the universe, and tapping into the cosmos via psychedelics on episode 127 of the Far Out with Faust podcast.Carl Calleman, born in 1950 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a renowned scholar and scientist. With a background in Physical Biology, he pursued graduate studies in this field under the mentorship of Professor Lars Ehrenberg, a distinguished member of the Nobel committees in Stockholm. Carl's academic journey led to a deep engagement in research, particularly in the areas of chemistry and cancer study. In 1979, a transformative backpacking trip to Mexico and Guatemala became a catalyst for Carl's spiritual and intellectual pursuits. Inspired by encounters with Mayans and the exploration of ancient pyramid cities, he developed a profound connection to the Mayan calendar. Despite skepticism and the lack of academic support, Carl embarked on a risky venture, departing from his scientific career to delve into the deeper meanings of the Mayan calendar.Carl's expertise is not confined to conventional scientific realms; he has become a leading authority on the Mayan calendar, challenging established paradigms. His unique insights, marked by a quantum shift in 1993, propelled him into a new understanding of the Mayan calendar's significance for humanity. This departure from traditional scholarly paths demonstrates Carl's commitment to unraveling the mysteries of ancient wisdom and applying them to the modern world. His books include The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness; The Living Universe: The New Theory of Origins: Explaining Consciousness, the Big Bang, Fine-tuning, “Dark Matter”, the Evolution of Life and Human History; and Quantum Science of Psychedelics: The Pineal Gland, Multidimensional Reality, and Mayan Cosmology.Get ready for an incredible, science-based cosmic ride, as Carl and Faust explore questions like:-Ever wondered how ancient stuff, like the Mayan calendar, can actually help us make sense of the world today?-What is the Ninth Wave, and why does it matter?-Curious about how the cosmos might be messing with our minds, shaping our creativity, and building civilizations?-Why do we keep seeing ancient symbols, especially snakes, in cultures worldwide? And what do serpents have to do with quantum consciousness?-Dive into the cosmic trip: What's the deal with psychedelics, like ayahuasca, and their wild connection to our consciousness?-What's the link between the Mayan calendar and all those pyramids everywhere? Ancient conspiracy or mind-blowing truth?-Can getting high on plants actually lead to personal transformation? And are psychedelics the secret to fixing ourselves?-Forget the doomsday talk. What's the real deal with the Mayan calendar, the Tortuguero Monument, and the crazy predictions about the world ending?-Brace yourselves: How does Carl Calleman flip the script on Darwin's theory of evolution, and why are cosmic waves a big deal for the origins of life?-What shocking truth did the human genome project reveal about DNA and what really created life on Earth?-Could the Big Bang be wrong? What new technology like the James Webb Space Telescope is telling us.-What is macrocosmic quantum theory, and how can it help us connect?-What is the cosmic microwave background, and what does it have to do with the ancient idea of the tree of life and our understanding of everything?-Why are snakes always popping up in those wild psychedelic trips? And what could they possibly mean for our brains?Check out Carl Johan Calleman's books:https://www.amazon.com/stores/Carl-Johan-Calleman/author/B004N4YL68?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDram

For Trevor's first pick of 2021 for an album that has, "been around awhile" he chose Kate Bush's 1985 album "Hounds of Love." This is Bush's 5th studio album and shows her expanding her use of the Fairlight synthesizer creating lush landscapes on an album with two distinct halves. The first side of the album, also called "Hounds of Love" depicts love and communication between men and women, mother and son, and father and son drawing upon literature and interweaving audioclips from movies from which she drew inspiration. The second half titled, "The Ninth Wave" is a concept album about a woman lost at sea floating alone with nothing but her imagination and a small light on her life preserver. Shane and Trevor have fun unpacking these lyrics but also just enjoying the music of the innovative queen of art pop herself. We also discover that much to Trevor's jealousy Shane has Kate's phone number and periodically texts her when he has questions about the album...or so he says.

Carl Johan Calleman Ph.D the Mayan calendar and quantum theory expert shares the power of the 9th Wave of consciousness to Unity. We dive into the different waves, especially the 6th wave which has dominated our history for thousands of years. What are the brain hemispheres of mother earth? How do they affect us? Why is 13 important in the Mayan calendar? How can we access multidimensional realities? Why is the pineal gland important? How can we raise our unity consciousness? Carl Johan Calleman has a Ph.D. in Physical Biology from the University of Stockholm, following which he was a Senior Researcher at the School of Public Health at the University of Washington in Seattle, focusing especially on identifying toxic substances in the human environment. He has spent the past 25 years developing an understanding of the meaning of the Mayan calendar, and as part of this quest he has lectured in 25 countries and written seven books, which have been translated to 14 languages. He also filmed the first interview with Don Alejandro Oxlaj, head of council of elders in Guatemala available to an audience in the Western world. His current focus is on the application of Macrocosmic Quantum Theory an all-encompassing theory of evolution emanating from these studies. In accordance with this theory the destiny of humanity is to make the quantum leap to the state of consciousness associated with the Ninth Wave and he actively works to make this accessible to people. We’re continuing DJ Abbie’s week of songs leading up to World Goth Day on May 22. Despite what the name may imply, Glasgow band The Ninth Wave’s “Happy Days!” is not a happy affair. This is ‘Goth Day,’ we’re talking about here – what did you expect?  “’Happy Days!’ is a song of ups and downs,” the band told DIY Mag earlier this month. “At its core, the lyrics shine a torchlight on the murky highs and lows of life.”  You can feel this in the driving pulse of the record. Waves of dark synthesizer rumbles under vocalist/guitarist Hadyn Park-Patterson’s guttural growl. The sputtering drums and spacious pauses make the climactic moments feel mammoth in size. All to say, it’s a happy day for goths with this incendiary track.  Read the full post on KEXP.org. Support the show.

Throughout history indigenous people understood that collective human consciousness rises and falls between cosmic cycles of light and dark, activity and rest. With the advent of the Judeo-Christian world, however, alternating cycles of day and night would be replaced by a system that promised permanent light, activity, and progress.  Guaranteed safety, prosperity and happiness were in reach for those followers who gave their allegiance to the gods of this new system.  Yet, this emergent system has not escaped the cosmic cycles it rejected.  Now our world has been turned upside down with Covid-19.  It has been quieted, and forced into rest.  It has been brought to examine its own pain and contradictions and the failures of its dominant beliefs. We see now that this marriage of Judeo-Christianity and industrialism allows for expansion, but not contraction. Not rest. Not change. Not new influences to guide us. Only unrestrained expansion, power, and control. This moment is passing.   Mayan calendar expert Carl Johann Calleman, explains how the Mayan calendar has delineated this time as the end of patriarchy, colonialism, technocracy and bureaucracy. It is, however, the beginning of the Ninth Wave of human history, which calls for a ”unity of human consciousness." In finding our way to a unified state, delusion, conspiracy, mistrust and suspicion are inevitable stepping stones to destroying the old paradigm.  This phase is tearing friends, family and society apart. In a beautiful and lively conversation, Carl explains that we are being called to move past blame, shame and judgement, and toward care, kindness, and sharing, IF we want to experience a higher outcome.   Visit Evolutionary Collective: https://fu119.isrefer.com/go/wave/cjc/   Subscribe to my newsletter: https://reginameredith.com/join-my-community Support my work on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/reginameredith Join Our Neighborhood: https://www.ourneighborhood.earth/   Disclaimer: The views and opinions expressed in the following program do not necessarily reflect those of ReginaMeredith.com. Come talk and/or listen as we explore what Unity Consciousness or the Consciousness Convergence may mean. How can we set the proper intention for this?
