“Still Comes The Night" Raised by a drama teacher mother and an acting coach father, the arts were coursing mightily through the Sudol house. A lover of literature and music, the Seattle-born Alison Sudol started crafting her path at a young age. In her teens, the self-taught pianist created a persona that operated under the A Fine Frenzy sobriquet, releasing a power trio of albums, including 2007's A Cell In The Sea, 2009's Bomb In the Birdcage and 2012's Pines. A Fine Frenzy played SXSW, toured Europe, opened for everyone from the Stooges to Rufus Wainwright and had international hits in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. But by 2011, she announced A Fine Frenzy had been summarily put to bed. Focusing on her acting, Alison joined the cast of Transparent and later the program Dig and in 2016 she got cast as Queen Goldstein in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. She went on to star in the subsequent two Fantastic Beasts movies—The Crimes Of Grindelwald, and the Secrets of Dumbledore. Retuning to music in 2018, Alison put out two marvelous EPS—Moon and Moonlite—and in September, she put out Still Comes The Night, her first album under her own name. Spellbinding, captivating and utterly riveting, Still Comes The Night is redolent with loss, grief, dreams, magic, introspection and love. It's an album that's filled with poetic finesse, a quiet velocity and devastating melodic beauty. www.alisonsudol.com www.bombshellradio.com Stereo Embers www.stereoembersmagazine.com www.alexgreenonline.com Instagram: @emberspodcast editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

We had the pleasure of interviewing Alison Sudol over Zoom video! London-based, American singer-songwriter and actress Alison Sudol releases her autobiographical new album Still Come The Night via Kartel Music Group. Formerly known under the moniker A Fine Frenzy, this intimate album is an impassioned effort that signals the welcome return of a unique artist, a powerful voice armed with candid lyrics and authentic musicianship. Written and co-produced by Alison with London-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer Chris Hyson - half of adventurous collective Snowpoet - Still Come The Night owns its intimate sound to the backdrop at Giant Wafer studios, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, nestled between sheep fields in the Welsh countryside. Chris recruited Welsh twin brothers Lloyd and Alex Haines on drums and guitar and engineer Alex Killpatrick to join them at Wafer. There they worked together from morning until midnight, writing song after song, creating a hushed intimacy and sense of space among, even, the many layers of songs with their subtle harmonies and intricate instrumentation. While making the core of the album (those four songs were written by Alison while isolating at her friend's farm with her partner), she just found out she was pregnant when the world suddenly stopped, filming on Fantastic Beasts - the movie franchise in which Alison stars as Queenie Goldstein - had been indefinitely suspended, the tour with Goldfrapp postponed, and for some reason she couldn't taste or smell anything. The mood in London was strange, tense. No one knew how long this thing would last, and the risk for pregnant women. There, without any wifi, set with the changing seasons and the quiet solitude of their borrowed cottage as the backdrop, the first songs of her intimate and introspective yet powerful, poetic record came quickly and quietly. London went into lockdown. Days later, they lost the baby. When Alison began writing Still Come the Night, she knew that she wanted to make an album to process the different stages of grief that she and her partner experienced with the loss of their first baby in pregnancy. This new album spans the emotions of Alison's journey, from the exhilaration of early love into the tightrope walk of excitement and uncertainty of pregnancy and ultimately through the complex and mysterious landscape of grief. Now based in London, Alison Sudol is an American singer-songwriter, musician, actress and video director. Having released three critically acclaimed albums under the name A Fine Frenzy during which she toured with Rufus Wainwright and opened for The Stooges at SXSW. Making her comeback to music as Alison Sudol in 2018 she released two EPs, Moon and its follow-up, Moonlite both co-produced with Yard Act and Gruff Rhys' producer Ali Chant, and featuring Portishead's Clive Deamer and Adrian Utley and John Parish. Her acting credits include the Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them franchise and the critically acclaimed TV series Transparent and Dig. We want to hear from you! Since then a new set of audio plays were developed in its place. Actor, Caroline Lee joins Richard to discuss Single Ladies Now a prequel to the aforementioned play. Set in Collingwood, the audio works were written as companions to the original piece. How well do you know your bushrangers? Can you name just one (most likely Ned Kelly) or many? A lesser-known bushranger, Captain Moonlite is the subject of author Garry Linnell’s latest book aptly titled Moonlite. Before Ned Kelly came along and stole everyone's thunder, there was Captain Moonlite. He was a pastor and a soldier, a bank robber and a frontier farmer, a lecturer and a mental patient, an innocent man and a bushranger, a womaniser and a homosexual. He was an Australian legend who barely anyone has ever heard of and one half of the greatest love story never told. With a hilarious script and catchy original tunes, Moonlite tells the tale of the man's last stand, and in it the story of the different lives he lived, all revolving around his enduring dedication to the love of his life, James Nesbit, a dedication that endured beyond the grave.Written by Gabriel BergmoserMusic and lyrics by Dan NixonCast:Moonlite: Tim ConstantineNesbit: Ryan SmedleyRogan: James ColeyWerneke: Megan Scolyer-GrayFaulkner: Daniel CosgroveHelen: Katy NethercoteMusic:Guitar and arrangements: Josh FuhrmeisterStrings: Esther HendersonEdited by Aron Toman

On today's episode, I had the chance to speak with Assistant Director of Tourism, Amanda Livingston about some great things going on in Abingdon, Virginia. Like many areas in Southwest Virginia and all across the nation Abingdon has suffered from the COVID19 pandemic. As a thriving tourist town, this small community hasn't let current day struggles interrupt their stride. Creative and innovative are just two terms to describe how this community has come together to keep businesses open and the economy going. One such creative feat is the use of the old Moonlite Drive-in theatre as a stage to perform live shows from the Barter Theatre. Since social distance is practically impossible inside the actual Barter Theatre, creative-minded members came together for the one-of-a-kind idea. Build a stage outdoors, have space for cars to park, and perform live under the stars! Not only does this allow for guests to continue being able to enjoy Barter Theatre performances, but also to once again re-live childhood memories in front of the silver screen once again. Abingdon's local eateries were also steadfast in coming up with plans to keep their doors open and provide their wonderful meals to the town. From outdoor dining, to take out, and even some offering delivery. Some local restaurants are even taking part in the Barter Theatre event in a "Play with your food" event the town is holding. The idea is to enjoy a nice meal from a local restaurant and then go see one of the Barter plays at the Moonlite. Guests can go grab their meal and eat it while enjoying the play, sounds like a great plan! Dinner Theatre if you will! Even though things have been limited, the spirit of the town is still alive and well. Abingdon has so many fun things to offer from outdoor recreation, downtown shopping, and dining, entertainment, and even self-guided tours! Rather you have never been to Abingdon before, or you're looking to go back and visit again, there's never a dull time to go. If you want to find out more about Abingdon, please visit their website and Facebook page for more information! Natalie Rebot is a Google software engineer turned entrepreneur that created a new device which can be used with your smartphone to upgrade traditional bedtime story telling. Moonlite is described as the first mini bedtime story projector reader that attaches to almost any mobile phone and uses its flash to project imagery onto any surface. The idea grew organically from Natalie's bedtime ritual with her 3-year-old daughter, Chloe. After using the flash on her smartphone to create shadowplay. It wasn't long before she realized that she could take their routine to another level to create stories and scenes using her phone and innovative design. Natalie first appeared on my podcast 2 years ago on episode 160. Following a massively successful launch on Kickstarter.com, Moonlite, the #1 children’s reading toy, is back on Kickstarter with a brand new limited-edition Rose Gold story projector, all in efforts to help strengthen children’s literacy across the nation. Founder Natalie Rebot launched her initial prototype and concept on Kickstarter and funding goals were overwhelmingly surpassed, with more than 60M views to date on the product’s original video. Tapping into that existing momentum, the brand is setting out on a mission to raise awareness of the benefits of reading and ultimately give back to the community. To achieve this, Moonlite is partnering with Baby2Baby, a non-profit organization that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. For each Rose Gold Moonlite pledged for, Moonlite will donate the equivalent of 10 books to Baby2Baby with the goal of bringing the magic of story time to over 60,000 low-income children this holiday season.

Anything that helps my kids get to bed has a BIG thumbs up from me! This week Natalie Rebot takes the mic and gives us an inside look at the history and ongoing success of her invention - Moonlite. The perfect parental peripheral : ) Moonlite uses the flash in your phone to make bedtime stories come to life with full HD images and in-app sound effects. Crushing it’s goals on Kickstarter in 2017, it quickly made many Top Toy lists, including Target's Top Toys of the Year, CNN, and Forbes.   In this episode we cover these questions and more: How was the idea born? What was the initial reaction of the first investors you approached? Why was Spin Master an attractive licensing partner? What are the challenges of getting publishers to partner with this new technology?   https://mymoonlite.com   Also check out her new Kickstarter campaign with a *limited-edition Rose Gold Moonlite Pack*. For every pack sold, they will be donating 10 BOOKS to children living in poverty.   https://lnkd.in/dJEpTzA   Thank you for listening!

My Biggest Takeaways-Tim Ferris Interviews Sex Worker Alice Little (Video version)

There are affiliate links below  #114 Tim Ferriss interviewed Alice Little on his podcast. Alice Little is sex worker employed at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Nevada. They had a very eye-opening conversation regarding sex. Sex education from experienced individuals always intrigues me. Since young, I often enjoyed the programming on HBO. The Real Sex show was enlightening and had eye-opening segments. I'm assuming the show was popular and encouraged the network to have other sex-documentary style shows. 'The Cathouse' was born which I'd seen a couple of episodes. The show displayed the lives of the escorts who work at a legal brothel. That being the Moonlite Bunny Ranch where Ms. Little is employed. You can find out more about the show here. She is a recent addition to the Bunny Ranch(since the show was on the air)and according to her bio is one of the more successful contractors employed. The bordello's website has her as the 'Starlet of the Year' 2017. These are some of my takeaways from Mr. Ferriss interview of Alice Little. -The Moonlite Bunny Ranch sounds expensive. It is a very personalized experience. Online forums, casual interview with a sex worker during negotiations, a meal with a sex worker, girlfriend experience, loads of communication, touching, kissing massages. Lots of options at the Moonlite. -Ms. Little has some great quotes like 'sex is a dance,' and 'Sex is more than cumming.' -She also says men like a lot of variation during foreplay, Women prefer the same consistent movement -In a three-way (a couple involving a third being the sex worker), Ms. Little likes to have the woman orgasm first. To relax them. Use 1-2 fingers for clit stimulus, in a same rhythmic pattern. A preferred device is the Magic Wand. -She also encourages using condoms with sex toys. -Herself and her co-workers act as sexual surrogates at times. Nonmonogamous consent is often due to the illness of a partner. -Alice says society favors women when it comes to sex and relationships. There are many men not being sought after by women causing there to be many male virgins in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s. -The most significant lesson she's learned about men; the public at large misjudges men by placing expectations of masculinity. In turn, preventing them from expressing themselves sexually or emotionally. This reminds me of Lewis Howes 'Mask of Masculinity' book interviews. Mark Manson talking about 'True Confidence' in his book 'Models.' Ultimately these great authors encourage being ok with being vulnerable. -Ms. Little says one of the biggest turn-ons for men; they want to have sex with women when their eyes are open, focusing on them. - Seeing sex workers irregularly can be cheaper than getting married. I found this fascinating. - Porn is destroying real-life connections with people. Men are killing sensitivity in their genitalia by masturbating too hard. She suggests using a Fleshlight instead(I personally use the Tenga Flashlight). - Excellent blowjob notes for the person giving the BJ; staring at the receiver, cupping balls gently. No biting. Men’s favorite position while receiving is two girls providing fellatio while he is standing. - Placing a hand on the base of the penis with some minor pressure gives the sensation of body weight/force. - Finally, Mr. Ferriss asks her, if she had a billboard what would it say. Her answer was ‘sex is a need not a want.’ Recently I've made the transition from actively trying to date, to just paying sex workers. This conversation makes me feel better about that decision. It's on my schedule for the most part, and I spend less money dating. There is a lack of deep intimacy and trust that I may yearn for over time, but right now I'm happy with the decision. Natalie Rebot is a Google software engineer turned entrepreneur. She has created a unique new device that launched on Kickstarter this week and has caught parents imagination across the globe. All too often technology gets a bad rap, particularly when parenting is concerned and must admit that I wince and find it quite heartbreaking when I see a child pulling at their parents clothes as they desperately attempt to get their parents attention while they continue to endlessly scroll down Facebook or Instagram. After reading how Natalie only one in three parents read stories to their kids at bedtime now because they are too tired or had a long commute home, she decided to do something about it. Inspired by her daughter "Princess Chloe" she created a fascinating product that turns the phone screen away from both child and parents eyes and transformed the bedtime story at night to enhance the much-needed quality time, As I came to record tonight's show and perform some last minute research, I discovered that Actress Tori Spelling has just hopped on board the campaign saying "I'm totally in love with @moonlite.world! It’s a bedtime story projector that clips right to your phone and uses your phone flashlight to project your kids’ favorite bedtime stories onto the ceiling or wall. I’m partnering with Moonlite because I know my kids will love this and I’m down for anything to make story time more fun for my little ones. It’s available now and selling out fast." As someone that has very fond memories of view master, I felt compelled to find out more about how technology was offering a new slant on one of our greatest storytelling traditions. I felt compelled to learn more. Kickstarter Page - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1483155071/moonlite-a-bedtime-story-projector-for-your-mobile
