The Teacher Who Didn't Want to go to School was also a children's book finalist for the 2017 and 2018 Indie Author Legacy Awards. In 2017, Shondra co-authored a book about diversity titled Trees. In 2018, she published Black Lives Matter: A Picture Book for Kids and My Black is Beautiful. Both books were written to promote self-love. Shondra went on to be a featured author at the 2018 NAACP Convention, and her books were featured at the 2018 Essence Music Festival. Her book Curly Hair, Don't Care was written in 2019 to encourage children to be proud of their natural hair. Other 2019 publications include Young King and Fati's Garden. Young King is a book of affirmations for young boys, and Fati's Garden follows a young girl who discovers the power of planting seeds. In 2020, Shondra published The Three Bears go to School and The Teacher Who Was Quarantined and Couldn't Go to School. Her most recent publications are Jamal's Nursery Rhyme Remix, featuring diverse characters and No Calvin, a book about a boy learning safe choices as he goes back to school during the COVID-19 pandemic. (Rock Hill, S.C.) -- Earlier this year, Rock Hill hosted the annual state convention and civil rights conference for the S.C. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for the first time in 25 years. The four day event, Oct. 10-13, was highlighted by a visit from the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who was given the Flame of Freedom Award in recognition of his 50 years of service and leadership. Dorene Boular, president of the Rock Hill branch of the NAACP, was a guest on the Palmetto Report to discuss the convention. Boular said the event focused on the 2020 election and census and included workshops on election protection, gerrymandering and voter registration.

Originally from Nashville, Reverend Keron R. Sadler now calls the Baltimore, Maryland area home. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Religion/Theology from the American Baptist Theological College. She is a graduate of Hood Theological Seminary with a master’s in divinity. For three years she studied at Pfeiffer University pursuing a second masters in Marriage & Family Therapy. During her internship at the Pfeiffer Institute, she provided intensive therapy to individuals, couples and families. She has worked in Corporate-America for over twenty years; and is recognized for her organizational, leadership, verbal and written communication skills. Presently, she serves as the national Manager of Health Programs for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Headquarters. She is responsible for maintaining and strengthening the NAACP’s commitment to HIV/AIDS as a high priority and high-profile issue. In her tenure there she managed the development and co-authored The Black Church and HIV: The Social Justice Imperative. A dynamic and diverse speaker in her own right, she has been called upon to speak and teach to a variety of audiences. Reverend Keron’s passion remains being committed to fulfilling her divine purpose to serve all people of God’s Kingdom, by meeting the needs of pastors, pastor’s spouses, church leaders, lay people and the community-at-large, regardless of denomination, race, sex or class through the Ministry of Counseling. The 110th NAACP Convention comes to Detroit, Michigan July 20-24th at Cobo Center, The NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. The theme for this year’s conference is “When we Fight, we win!”
