Shownotes After any significant life event, we are often left with so much to reflect on and are often left with feelings of loneliness and emptiness. Sometimes the thought of moving forward is too much for us to handle. What can we do when we are forced to start over? How can we begin to pick up the pieces of brokenness that we feel so that we can begin again? Join Andrea and Jennifer in this first episode of 2025 as they discuss these questions and share the connections they have discovered along the way. They also share their word for 2024 and how God revealed each of their words to them. Novenas are very powerful prayers because they are an intense and persevering form of prayer. But what makes the Divine Mercy Novena — which is prayed between Good Friday and the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday — different from all other Novenas? And why did Jesus give specific groups that He wanted to be brought to Him? Become a Marian Helper!Discover more about the Catholic faith on Divine Mercy Plus!

Dr. Tom Curran asks Fr. Jeff Lewis: Do you honor any novenas or Marian devotions? How do you help young men discern if God's calling them to the priesthood? Does God give people an option to choose our vocation?
Patrick ignites a vibrant conversation about using cell phones during Mass, addressing technology as both a tool for participation and a potential distraction. Patrick tackles tough topics like traditions and modern-day struggles, including addiction recovery and the historical significance of the term 'Catholic.' The discussions open a window to understanding the complexities of living out our faith in today's world while staying true to its roots. Patrick comments on using devices during Mass Joe - I was in a rehab meeting and a girl explained a demonic harassment and she does self-harm. Alfred - Why did the Church need to call itself “Catholic”? (12:43) Roberto - Why are Novenas nine days long? (22:57) Orlando - I am the sole provider for my family and am self-employed but it is not giving me enough money to survive. My brother is offering me a job where I need to be out 2 weeks, so I will miss Mass. Will that be okay? Karen – If the priest omits part of the Nicene Creed at Mass, would it be okay for us to go to a different parish? Steve - Is quoting the Church fathers the equivalent to the Pharisees saying we have Abraham as our Father?

Fr. William Rock, FSSP serves as Parochial Vicar at Regina Caeli Parish in Houston, Texas. He was ordained in October of 2019 and serves as a regular contributor to the FSSP North America Missive Blog and the TAN Direction Blog. In Today's Show For non-practicing Catholics or those returning to the Church, can you please discuss when to use or apply a novena versus a prayer? Also, when to use a Marian prayer vs. an Angelic prayer vs. Adoration? What are some good written resources for non-Catholics to understand the basics of Catholicism such as the reason for the sacraments, the role of the Priest, etc? Can you please explain the origins of some of the “famous” Catholic Lenten practices such as no meat on Fridays and the reception of ashes on Ash Wednesday? I saw an interview today with a Catholic priest and he mentioned that he had been married, but he didn't mention what had happened to the marriage. Can a man become a priest if he has an annulment? Is it possible for someone to become 'too' religious to the point of being obsessive? Does the Catholic Church have an official stance on when God created the world in six days? I've heard Catholic sources say that God didn't literally mean six days, but that one day could mean a thousand years. I personally believe it was a literal six days and I don't understand why, in this case, the scriptures wouldn't be taken literally. What is the difference between the FSSP and SSPX? Is it ok to receive sacraments through the SSPX? Does the FSSP allow attendance at a Novus Ordo Mass? Was Mary Baptized? How do we reconcile Luke 23:43 (“And He said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise")? Can you tell me more about Novenas? What are they and how are they used? I have been suffering with various illnesses and depression for a number of years. If it is truly God's will that I live with this, can you give me some advice on how to truly accept God's will and be at peace with it? Why on Ash Wednesday, after the priest blessed the ashes, did he sprinkle some of the ashes on the other priests' heads? How are the decades of the Rosary to be said during Lent? When praying the 15-decade Rosary, should you pray the Glorious Mysteries during Lent on Sundays? What did Jesus do for the forty days between Easter and the Ascension? Why are sedevacantists considered excommunicated for holding on delicately to Tradition when many other Catholics continue, more progressively, to do what they want with no consequences? Could you please describe an ideal traditional Lent? Is there no meat for all 40 days? What prayers are recommended? What type of burden does Confession put on the priest? How do I reconcile feelings of burdening the priest when I attend Confession? Gaining indulgences, completing novenas, praying Little Office of Our Blessed Lady. Responsibility for posting indecent pictures on social media? Asking SSPX for conditional baptism? Liturgical calendar: Traditional vs Modernist. Is transgenderism demonic? Shutting down Our Lady of Lourdes. Does Church lose visibility without Francis? Join Deacon Tom and Mary Jane Fox, as they unpack the meaning and history of novenas, which are special prayers that are said for nine consecutive days. Hello Family.Welcome back! This is day 9 of our 54-Day Rosary Novena. Today marks the end of our first Novena in Petition. We have 2 more Novenas is petition and 3 in thanksgiving to go.Today is Ash Wednesday, and it marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season to observe and commemorate the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God, our Lord. This is the season to purify our intentions and repent for our sins. In this time of Lent, the Lord invites us to increase our prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. There's a really good podcast called ASK Father Josh. I'll list the link in the show notes. Fr.Josh invites us to fast from something we're going to feel, something that will affect us and draw us to more prayer. He encourages us to Spend more time with the Lord by offering the first 15 minutes of our day to reading the Word of God. Sometimes I log on to usccb.org the (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) website for my daily readings. I like the reflection videos listed daily.h. Ill link st link will also be listed in the show notes. And lastly Fr. Josh reinforces that when we turn to our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer our Almsgiving also increases. The Alms that we give is the fruit of our prayer. I've also listed the link to Fr. Josh's videoDay 9 - Glorious Mysteries in Petition: Let's start; today, we're praying the Glorious Mysteries in Petition. Hello Family!Happy Feast Day of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother Mary! And Welcome to the 7th season of 54 Days of Roses. Can you believe we are on our 7th season, episode 325?! I'm super excited to be here with you once again. This is possible by the Grace of God and the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary. Our first episode was published on August , 2020. Today, we have prayed and offered our Blessed Mother 186,000 spiritual bouquets of roses. Thank you for rating and sharing the podcast with your loved ones, and thank you to everyone who donated and sponsored season 7. This podcast would not be possible without your support and your prayers. If you are joining us for the first time, Welcome to this beautiful family of prayer. On our website 54daysofroses.com. You can read a bit about the history of the Novena, you can request a copy of the prayers, and submit your prayer request. For those who are praying with us for the first time, a Novena is a beautiful devotion that consists of praying the rosary for nine days. When we pray the rosary, we Meditate on the life of Jesus; and ask for a favor from God. Often, we ask for our Blessed Mother's intercession to pray for us and with us so that He might grant our desires and that she might bring us closer to Him. However, a 54-day novena consists of praying 3 Novenas in petition (27 days) and 3 Novenas in Thanksgiving (another 27 days). The first day of the Novena always begins with the Joyful Mysteries, regardless of what day of the week the novena is started; on the second day, the Sorrowful Mysteries are prayed; and on the third day, the Glorious Mysteries are prayed. The fourth day begins again with the Joyful Mysteries and continues in that sequence throughout the 54 days . The Luminous Mysteries are not part of the 54-day novena since they were added in 2002, and our Blessed Mother gave the instructions to this Novena in her apparition in 1884.Season 7 will be dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We will implore our Blessed Mother to intercede for our petitions and bring us closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We will also pray for the special intentions that you hold in your hearts. If you would like us to pray for your intentions and mention your first name on the podcast, please submit your prayer request on our website 54daysofroses.com If you have any questions or would like to share your rosary story,,, please send us an email to prayers@54daysofroses.com.I look forward to this 54-day journey with you.
