One Big Question Podcast I "“From Bandages to Breakthroughs: The Evolution of Wound Care"From bandages and guesswork to biotech, smart dressings, and data-driven healing — wound care has officially entered its innovation era. From Bandages to Breakthroughs isn't just a timeline, it's a testament to what happens when science, compassion, and technology stop playing small. We've moved beyond treating wounds to understanding healing at the cellular level — faster recoveries, better outcomes, and dignity for patients who deserve more than “good enough.”Progress didn't happen overnight. It happened because clinicians questioned old methods, researchers pushed limits, and innovators refused to accept stagnation. The future of wound care? Smarter, more personalized, and built to heal people, not just injuries.#FromBandagesToBreakthroughs #WoundCareInnovation #FutureOfHealthcare #MedicalAdvancement #HealthTech #ClinicalExcellence #HealingScience #InnovationInMedicine #NextGenHealthcare #MedTechMovement

And sometimes the fastest way back to ourselves is through sound. Nashville SC made center back Max Woledzi its first signing of the MLS offseason, bringing in the Norwegian to fill Walker Zimmerman's old roster spot. Wes and Tim explore his credentials and ask a key question for each position. Could NSC unload a center back to take advantage of its surplus at that spot? Is Brian Schwake ready to be the guy in goal? What does the club need more: a skull-cracking defensive midfielder or an attack-oriented center mid? Will the backup striker be a young up-and-comer or a Bunbuy-esque veteran? Club and Country is sponsored by M.L. Rose.
There's an art to wound care that nobody really talks about. It's not just gauze, tape, and timed changes—it's patience, presence, and keeping your cool when things look a little… chaotic. The Zen of Dressing Changes is all about finding calm in the mess. Slowing down your breathing. Honoring the routine. Respecting the healing process even when it's not pretty. Because every change is a moment to reset, refocus, and remind yourself: healing takes time, and so do you.Whether you're a caregiver, clinician, or just tending to your own journey, tap into that stillness. Turn the chaos into clarity. Find your rhythm in the ritual.

Every scar tells a story — not of weakness, but of resilience. When the body heals, it doesn't just close a wound; it remembers the battle. Scars are living proof that pain was met, fought, and conquered. Think of them as nature's tattoos — permanent reminders that even when life cut deep, you grew stronger in the process. This was a team that beat themselves quite a bit in 2024 - and as long as they do NOT do that in 2025 - they're always going to have a chance. But how many wins can they get this year? Well, we break it down in today's pod. I hope you enjoy! Arena Club: Right now, you can get 20% off your first Slab Pack or card purchase by going to https://ArenaClub.com/GFB and use code GFB. Send us a textStrap in for another riveting episode of the Customer Success Playbook, where empathy isn't just a buzzword—it's a business advantage. Hosts Kevin Metzger and Roman Trebon are once again joined by communication maven Mary Schmid, who unpacks the neurological power of empathy and its pivotal role in client trust and loyalty. From the depth of scuba diving to the magic of emotional connection, Mary shares how listening with genuine curiosity can shift even the most transactional relationships into long-term partnerships.Detailed Analysis: In this Wednesday "One Big Question" edition, the trio explores how empathy drives client loyalty, especially in high-stakes sectors like finance. Mary challenges the misconception that empathy is about agreement, reframing it instead as a courageous act of understanding. Through her neuroscience-informed approach, she explains how empathy fosters psychological safety, laying the groundwork for trust. The conversation ventures into practical insights for customer success professionals: the importance of leading with emotional curiosity, the discipline of "listening to connect," and how to gracefully introduce differing perspectives once mutual understanding is established. Mary introduces a powerful sequence: empathy first, connection second, and then collaboration. The episode highlights that curiosity and compassion aren't liabilities—they are strategic tools. Also discussed: how leaders can break free from monologue mode by shifting into learner mode, and how to handle moments when your perspective diverges from the client's. Spoiler: it involves asking permission to share, not bulldozing your view across the conversation table.Roman humorously pitches Mary for a bigger stage beyond customer success, and honestly, we agree. The bottom line? Connection comes before correction. Action comes after understanding. Now you can interact with us directly by leaving a voice message at https://www.speakpipe.com/CustomerSuccessPlaybookCheck out https://funnelstory.ai/ for more details about Funnelstory. We're doing something a little different this week on The Backstory. We're two-thirds of the way through this series and has talked to 13 incredible leaders. So, we wanted to take a moment for host Anne Hancock Toomey to reflect on one of the questions that she asks each guest. That is, "What are the three characteristics of the most effective leaders?" Every one of the leaders interviewed has a unique story. At the same time, they have certain things in common. They are successful because of who they are and how they lead. And so the hope in asking this question, which always comes near the end of the conversations, is to get at those ingredients to their secret sauce. The question isn't "What makes you successful?" It's pointed away from the guest and towards successful leaders in general. But interestingly, to a person, all 13 ended up describing how they've learned to lead. The guests are: Pete November, CEO of Ochsner Health Chris Roth, President and CEO of St. Luke's Health System Sheri Shapiro, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of CommonSpirit Health Bill Southwick, former CEO of QualDerm Partners Shlomit Schaal, MD, PhD, MHCM, Executive VP and Chief Physician Executive, Houston Methodist Phil Roe, former CEO and current Senior Advisor of Martin Ventures Joann Anderson, Former President and CEO of UNC Health Southeastern Van Ton-Quinlivan, CEO of Futuro Health Michael Wiechart, President of TEAMHealth Rhonda Brandon, Chief Human Resources Officer at Duke University Health System David Jarrard, Founder and Executive Chairman of Jarrard Inc.
