In the recent episode of the Customer Success Playbook podcast, Roman T. and Kevin M. hosted Marcus Vassell, a seasoned professional in customer success. The discussion primarily focused on Marcus's model for evaluating and advancing the maturity of customer success operations in organizations.Marcus Vassell outlined a three-stage evolutionary framework – Crawl, Walk, and Run – to assess and enhance a company's customer success maturity. Each stage represents a distinct level of organizational alignment with customer success principles, moving from a siloed approach to a customer-centric and finally to a customer-obsessed culture. Key takeaways include:Crawl Stage: Characterized by siloed operations where departments operate independently without a unified customer success approach.Walk Stage: A transition to a more customer-centric culture, integrating customer success into all departments.Run Stage: The ultimate goal where organizations are fully customer-obsessed, utilizing technology proactively and maintaining a symbiotic relationship across all departments.Marcus emphasized the importance of executive buy-in, cross-functional collaboration, continuous monitoring and measuring of KPIs, and agile implementation as crucial factors in advancing through these stages.Analysis and Business-Relevant InsightsFor businesses today, the journey from a product-focused to a customer-centric approach is imperative. Marcus Vassell's maturity model offers a structured pathway for organizations to follow. Here's an analytical deep dive:Strategic Alignment and Executive Buy-in: Crucial for transitioning through the maturity stages. Without leadership support, efforts to enhance customer success are often fragmented and ineffective.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Essential for breaking down silos. Sales, marketing, product development, and support must work together towards common customer-centric goals.Data-Driven Decision Making: Companies must leverage customer feedback and performance data to adapt strategies. This approach is vital in the 'Run' stage, where AI and technology play significant roles in predicting customer needs.Customization of Customer Journeys: Understanding that one size does not fit all in customer success. Tailoring experiences based on customer segmentation can lead to higher satisfaction and retention rates.Continuous Learning and Adaptation: The stages of maturity are not just linear progressions but require constant refinement and adaptation to changing customer needs and market dynamics. Please Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe. The podcast discusses how companies can align their entire organization around customer success. The hosts Kevin and Roman interview Sue Nabeth Moore, a thought leader in customer success.Key points:- Customer success needs to be part of the company's strategy, not just a tactical support function. It should be infused top-down in all departments.- Educating the organization on what customer success means is crucial. It focuses on driving outcomes and business gains for customers, which in turn benefits the vendor. - Alignment around objectives and key results (OKRs) is important to get all teams working towards the same goals. - Common challenges include siloed teams, product-centric rather than customer-centric thinking, lack of executive buy-in, and friction between departments like sales and customer success.- Customer intelligence coming into customer success teams should feed into AI to provide insights on customer segmentation, predictive analytics, and ideal customer profiles.- The end goal should be designing customer success into the operating model and all aspects of the company from the outset, not just parachuting it in later as an operational function. It should evolve from a churn-buster to an earn-booster.Please Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe. Business owners often wonder what the secret to success is in starting a profitable business. Today you'll be in on the secrets and the most essential tactics for building your way to success in your business. I'm very excited to have this episode with Mark Bouris. If you don't know him, Mark is the host of The Celebrity Apprentice show. He is the chairman of Yellow Brick Road, and he also hosts a podcast called Mentored. Now, he is also a keynote speaker at Certified Ballers Live. With his vast array of experience, he's a fantastic person to learn from when it comes to success. You'll surely learn a lot about the steps to success, and how, like Mark has created his own playbook to success, it is possible for you too. Check these show highlights and tune in to the show! Starting Out In The Business (02:44) The first time he got a taste for business was at school. He developed a product, market-tested it, and made sales. Mark is originally best known for his Wizard Home Loans business. He started as a property developer. They were struggling to get funding for small properties and developments they had to build. Meeting with the mortgage brokers who got the funding for them ignited his spark of interest in getting into the business. His specialized capital markets degree became valuable for him in running Wizard. The Biggest Obstacles of Entrepreneurs (09:14) Most business owners don't run the business in any form of structure. Not by the legal structure means, but they don't have structured meetings, and everything they do is a little day-to-day effort. There is no discipline. Despite turning to work and working hard on what they do, they don't have formal regulations in the business. You have to tend and be at the centre of the ten most essential things in business on a repetitive rhythm. People should not run businesses. People should be implementing the disciplines and structures and rhythms that run the business. Businesses should have a playbook, which determines the rhythm of what teams do in the game. You, as the manager or the CEO, have a role in managing that playbook. Developing a Playbook for Success (12:22) The playbook was developed through a series of mistakes and tips from successful people. It is ten fundamentals that you must have in the rhythm of the business compiled in 10 chapters. Mark articulated concepts that he wanted to impose over his business and which might seem essential as an investor. The key is putting it into a simple language that has a logical and understandable format. Winning the Game (14:24) It's challenging to invent processes and systems that have proven to work. What you've got to do to build up your business is to make sure that your product works. It's another thing to become an expert in the business rhythm. When you're starting, it's better to borrow a business rhythm that works. Pushing Through (16:42) Getting away from the tall poppy syndrome is logic versus emotion. Soft skills are essential in the business between you and customers, suppliers, and staff. But you need to know when to employ those emotions for you and when not to use them against you. Recognize every emotion. The more often you get built around, the more resilient you become. The combination of logic and resilience allows you to get on with it. You have to recognize that through logic, certain things are always going to come your way no matter how you try to deal with them. And so, you need to keep getting on with it. Not Everybody Is An Entrepreneur (19:44) If you want to be a business person, you need to have soft skills, and you need to be able to deal with and handle certain emotions. There are several upsides and downsides for either working for somebody or yourself, make a decision about which one you want to do. Digitization (21:52) The digitization of business is essential--from marketing to advertising, to imagery. Use digital methodologies to run as many parts of your business as you possibly can to free up your time in terms of managing those processes. With this, you can get on with the real part of the business which is making sales and making sure that everything in your expenses is in the right territory. Australians spend one in every five minutes on social media. If you're a business owner, you've got to be able to share your story so that people can connect with you and know what you're about and who you are. They'll be buying into that much faster. Certified Ballers Live 2020 (29:09) At the event, Mark is going to explain what rhythm means and how it works in businesses, as well as how can people employ and use it. He's also going to go through the chapters of the playbook and explain it for people to find out exactly what he's doing. Connect with Mark on his Facebook page and through his LinkedIn profile. You can also tune in to his podcast, Mentored. To know more about Mark's Success Playbook, check it out here. If you enjoyed today's conversation with Mark, he will be joining us as one of the keynote speakers at the upcoming Certified Ballers Live event. Grab your tickets now! Thanks a lot for tuning in! Let’s be honest... “A proven 5-step framework to help you overcome the procrastination, anxiety, and fear that keep you from following through with your goals” ...just doesn’t sound sexy. You know what DOES sound sexy? ✓ Losing 25 pounds. ✓ Landing your dream job. ✓ Finishing that screenplay. ✓ Paying off your student loans. ✓ Celebrating a new promotion. ✓ Speaking on industry panels. And people constantly asking you, “How do you do it all?” If you’re ready to start taking action, I’m ready to open my playbook to show you how to Get. Sh*t. Done. If you’re listening to this, I already know that you’re a high achiever because rather than wasting your time scrolling social media or binge-watching another four hours of The Office on Netflix, you’re here listening to me, and I greatly appreciate that. I want to apologize in advance because there not be a new episode this week because I’m just about to launch my first new online program in two years - Design Yourself. As a regular listener, you know that my mission is to provide you with the best content and interviews that help design the optimized version of you, and that’s exactly what this program does. Design Yourself is an 8-module online learning course to help you organize your priorities, get important things done (note: important is very different from urgent), and (finally) follow through with your goals...without sacrificing your sanity in the process. This program provides you with a simple step-by-step framework to break down seemingly insurmountable goals into simple and actionable tasks that will make your success look almost too easy. No longer will you procrastinate because you have no idea if the next task on your to-do list is going to change your life...or completely waste your time. Instead you will effortlessly and consistently take the right actions that will lead you down the unique roadmap to success that you design for yourself, no matter the obstacles in your way. You might think “high achievers” have access to super-secret information you don’t: They use the most cutting-edge daily planners and productivity journals They consume the world’s most potent “superfoods” They know advanced automation tactics in Trello & Omnifocus They have the perfect 67-step morning ritual to “eat their frog” by 6am They have a secret “Success Playbook” leading them down the perfect path to their desired career They have unlimited access to the world's best coaches Here’s the good news...none of this crap matters. Want to know the secret that most productivity experts never talk about? Most people procrastinate on taking action or downright give up on their goals because they lack just one thing: CONFIDENCE You have lost the productivity game if you ever have to ask yourself the following question: “So...what am I supposed to be doing now?” Imagine for a second: You wake up in the morning (without hitting the snooze button twelve times) having intentionally designed your day in such a way that you have 100% clarity about the goals you hope to achieve not only today but in the next week, as well as over the next 3 months, 1 year, or even the next 5 years. Think about what it might feel like to have the utmost confidence that the next items on your daily to-do list are the right actions that will lead you to your destination (and ANY productivity app will work...including post-it notes). Picture yourself confidently taking the right actions with consistency and without struggling to summon willpower you can’t find, motivation you just don’t have, and discipline you’d rather not develop. Welcome to this episode of the Real Fast Results podcast! Reviewing today’s content is going to be really great for you and the development of your career, regardless of what niche you are in. Whether you are an author, a speaker, or in information product development, etc., the information found herein will work for you. This material was originally presented by Chris Cumby. He has been coaching and advising clients on business strategies and personal development for over 14 years. Cumby got his start as a sales and marketing consultant, but he took on a much broader scope of business as he began to identify what disconnected businesses from their clients. He now helps people to make these connections happen, and he does this by helping businesses grow through an extension of personal growth, themselves. Chris’ clients have achieved greater success in their professional lives since he’s learned to advise them this way. With this realization, Chris has had a better opportunity to branch out and offer consultancy services that benefit each person individually, not simply the organization. As a matter of fact, in 2003, Chris founded Integrity Marketing Inc., which is a direct sales consulting platform that is focused on creating new possibilities and new revenue streams for his American and Canadian clients. Integrity Marketing has consistently helped its clients achieve broader market shares, increased revenues, and greater profits. Download the Complete PDF Show Notes Free for this Episode Chris has also written a fantastic book, which is The Success Playbook, and he’s been able to develop a brand around that. The subject matter of this book/brand also centers upon personal enrichment. This has allowed Chris’ reach to expand internationally, and the book itself has helped many people broaden their horizons and better develop themselves, and in turn, become more successful. When it comes down to it, the core of Chris’ expertise lies in working closely with people, probably just like you, and helping people design, implement, and execute their personal development and sales strategies in combination. Please welcome Chris to the program… Promise: Make More Money in the Next 90 Days Thanks for having me. Why should you stick around today? If you want to make more money, I think that today’s show is going to give you some good ideas. We’ll cut through some of the noise and pressure that you might have, and hopefully, give you some insights and some frameworks to really start making that happen in the next 90 days. Well, the vehicle is really simple. I’ve gamified an area of my life that I’ve been pretty proficient at, in sales. I’ve taken that same gamification, if you want, and helped others achieve, through some frameworks that I have developed and things that they can do every day to execute and get ahead. Guest Bio: Chris has been coaching and advising clients on both business strategies and personal development for more than 14 years. What began as sales and marketing consulting took on a broader scope of business advisement when he identified a disconnect with his clients. Seeing business growth as an extension of personal growth, Chris saw that his clients achieved greater success in their professional lives when they also focused on positive personal development. With this realization, Chris saw the opportunity to branch out and offer consultancy services that benefit the person, not simply the organization. In 2003 Chris founded Integrity Marketing Inc., a direct sales consulting platform focused on creating new opportunities and new revenue streams for his American and Canadian clients. Integrity Marketing has consistently helped its clients achieve broader market shares, increased revenues and greater profits.
