And here we are. There's not much I can write here that I don't say somewhere on this sprawling live episode of GET LIT. A few things I might have left out include: the fabulous Jessica Rose, GritLit Artistic Director, is the introductory voice and kind soul who agreed to let me do a final episode live the excellent George Elchuk, CFMU staffer and member of Rexford Drive, did a great job mixing and mastering the live session to be more pleasant on your ears the award presenter is Silhouette newspaper editor, pal and musician Andrew Mrozowski I'm unclear who all the audience member questions were from so I'll identify none of them (sorry…but if you know, you'll definitely know) this took a few takes, because I welled up So listen in! We have wonderful guests including guest host Gary Barwin (I mean, I'm hosting too…it's hard to explain) and the Triple A team, as I was annoyingly calling them – Amy Jones, Amanda Leduc, and Anuja Varghese. It's a fun conversation. I'm proud to leave GET LIT on a note like this. Thanks for all the kind words, all the conversations, and all the ears. GET LIT will continue to post the podcasts missing from platforms (about E10 - E150) so though the show is over, there's still content to come. Until the next project…thanks for listening! -Jamie
What happens to all those tiny pieces of silver left behind when you're making jewellery? In this episode of the Jewellers Academy podcast, Jessica Rose is joined by jeweller and Jewellers Academy tutor Mahroz Hekmati to talk about one of the most valuable workshop skills a jeweller can develop: learning to recycle silver scrap. With rising metal prices and increasing awareness around sustainability, understanding how to reuse silver has never felt more relevant. Mahroz shares why she believes recycling is an important skill for jewellers at every stage, from beginners learning to make the most of their materials through to experienced makers creating commissions and remodelling heirloom jewellery. Together, they discuss how to think differently about silver scrap, why separating your offcuts matters, what happens when silver is melted and reused, and how understanding these processes can help build confidence at the bench. This isn't a step-by-step technical tutorial, but an introduction to the principles behind silver recycling and why it can become such a valuable part of your jewellery practice. In this episode: • Why every jeweller creates scrap and how to think about it differently • Saving money and reducing waste in your workshop • Why separating clean scrap, soldered pieces and cast material matters • The basics of melting and reusing silver • Sustainability and recycling in jewellery making • Common considerations when working with recycled silver • Building confidence and understanding your materials more deeply • How these skills support commissions, remodelling and professional jewellery practice Mahroz teaches silver recycling both in-person at Jewellers Academy Brighton and online as part of the Diploma in Silver Jewellery, where students can explore the process in more depth. Whether you're curious about making your materials go further, interested in more sustainable jewellery-making practices or simply want to understand your metal better, this episode is full of insight and inspiration. Last November, I attended the Children's Health Defense Annual Conference in Austin, and I was able to connect with so many medical freedom activists and dissidents and so many people who are still concerned about COVID. Yes, even 6 years later - we need answers! At the conference, I got connected with The Covid Index, founded by researcher M. Nathaniel Mead, MSc, PhD.Since the late 1990s, Dr. Mead has authored over 55 peer-reviewed scientific papers, contributed to numerous books, served as an editor for two peer-reviewed scientific journals, and worked as an integrative-medicine research consultant. Mead is also the lead author on several peer-reviewed papers on the Covid-19 mRNA vaccines, co-authored with Drs. Peter McCullough, Stephanie Seneff, Jessica Rose, Paul Marik, William Makis, and other notable scientists. He joins me on the program today to discuss where we are today and the work that The Covid Index is doing to grow and build an expansive dictionary of evidence to the many falsehoods that were pushed by officials and media outlets alike during the COVID-19 experience. In this week's episode of the Jewellers Academy Podcast, Jessica Rose shares all about the brand-new Diploma in Wax Jewellery. This is the fifth online one-year Diploma to be created. Whether you're completely new to wax or an experienced jeweller ready to dive into wax jewellery, this episode gives you a full behind-the-scenes look at what to expect from this year-long programme. Jess walks you through how the Diploma works, from the flexible weekly time commitment to the unique 'wax to metal' process where you'll carve your designs, send them to a caster, and then learn the essential skills to clean up and finish your final pieces. Unlike other Diplomas, students only submit their work once at the end of the course, giving plenty of time to refine each project. You'll also hear how termly check-ins support accountability and how every student is paired with a professional wax jeweller as a mentor for the year. Jess explores the wide variety of projects and techniques you'll learn: from foundational wax carving and building shaped signet rings, to stone setting in wax, cast-in-place techniques, soft wax sculpting, the Mitsuro Hikime method, build-up techniques with a heat pen, and even optional sand casting for those with the tools at home. Jess also introduces you to the expert tutor team, including master stone setters and specialist wax jewellers who will guide you through each step. You'll get a clear picture of the year, from September through to July, and discover how the final project helps you create a cohesive mini collection to kickstart or elevate your jewellery business. In this week's episode of the Jewellers Academy Podcast, award winning entrepreneur Jessica Rose dives into what it really takes to grow a jewellery business once you're three or more years in. If you've moved past the experimentation phase and are ready to build something profitable, sustainable, and strategically focused, this episode is your roadmap. Jessica explores the core pillars that help jewellers transition from busy and functioning to thriving and scalable, sharing her own experiences - wins, mistakes, and moments of truth along the way. Covering: 1. Getting Focused (Stripping It Back) After years of trying all the things - craft fairs, website sales, wholesale, teaching - the next stage is all about narrowing it down to what works for you and what you enjoy. Jessica explains why spreading yourself thin keeps you small, and how choosing one or two key areas to pour your energy into can create dramatic results. Expect a powerful analogy from GCSEs to degree-level specialism to help you rethink your business focus. 2. Profitability & Revenue-Generating Activities To grow you need to be making a profit. Jess looks at the difference between the work you love and the work that actually brings money in and why you need to know which is which. From launches and fairs to analysing your product range, you'll learn how to spot what's truly profitable and what needs adjusting or subsidising. 3. Taking Yourself Seriously (Investing in You & Your Business) If you want a serious business, you have to treat it like one. Discover how regular investment - in training, professional photography, and the development of your own skills - creates momentum, confidence, and higher-level results. 4. Selling Higher-Ticket Jewellery If you want higher revenue without burning out, you need higher-value sales. Jess talks through the psychology of desire-based buying, how to showcase your high-ticket pieces effectively, and why your customers should never have to imagine what your work could look like in gold. 5. Delegating (Even Before You Think You're Ready) Delegation is essential for growth, even if it feels uncomfortable. Jessica shares her personal story of hiring help long before she felt she could "afford" it—and how that single decision rapidly transformed her income, time, and creative freedom. JOIN THE LIVE masterclass THIS WEEK If you're ready to step into the next chapter of your jewellery business with clarity, confidence, and a solid strategy for 2026, join Jess for a free live masterclass, where she'll go even deeper into these topics and help you map out your personalised plan for growth. In this week's episode, Jessica Rose and Anna Campbell explore the unexpected advantages behind the rising costs of silver and gold. While many jewellers worry about affordability and holding stock, Jessica and Anna reveal that these changes can actually strengthen your business and the handmade jewellery industry as a whole. They discuss seven key benefits, including: - The increased inherent value of your jewellery - customers now see handmade pieces as not only beautiful but a smart long-term investment. - A boost in the value of any metal stock you already own - some jewellers have seen their materials rise by around 50%, leading to higher profits when priced correctly. - Rising prices encourage better pricing confidence and healthier profit margins across the industry, moving away from undercharging. - More customers are looking to resell, recycle or redesign their old jewellery - creating new opportunities for bespoke services and lasting client relationships. - Despite higher prices, demand for gold and silver jewellery remains strong, driven by design, desire, and personal connection—not just cost. - Small independent jewellers now stand out more clearly from high-street brands, as mass-produced copies become harder to make in precious metals. - Hallmarking gains value, giving customers reassurance and proof of authenticity as they invest in higher-priced pieces. The episode ends with a powerful reminder: adopting a positive mindset and valuing your role as a maker is key to growth. Now is the time to embrace opportunity, build trust, and create jewellery with confidence. Jessica Rose experienced deep wounds in childhood and learned a painful lesson early in life: girls get hurt. As she entered her teenage years, she tried to numb the ache of her early trauma by seeking comfort in relationships with women, who felt like a safe refuge. Over time, however, her own body began to feel like the enemy. In an effort to escape that pain and reinvent herself, she took on a new identity as a trans man named Aiden. That was only the beginning of Jessica's journey. Through a near-fatal suicide attempt and a life-changing encounter with God, she found the courage to stop taking testosterone and begin the process of healing. Jessica's story is a powerful reminder that true restoration does not come from escaping who we are, but from finding our identity in Christ. The world promises freedom through self-reinvention or surgical transformation, yet those paths often lead only to deeper emptiness. A little over a week ago, I spoke with Kevin McKernan about the paper he co-authored with Jessica Rose and David Speicher, looking at DNA contamination, including SV40 promoter-enhancer sequences, in the Pfizer and Moderna Covid vaccines. In that episode, I asked Kevin whether the paper is enough to demonstrate fraud on the part of the vaccine manufacturers. This is important, because if fraud can be shown, these companies lose their protection from legal liability. In this episode, I speak with Dr. Jessica Rose about the paper. She explains what is needed to prove fraud, and why that is challenging, but also explains why there is a strong case for it. We also talk about the corrupt nature of the justice system, her own calculation of VAERS underreporting, and the preprint by Kevin McKernan that had just come out, showing "Hyperstimulatory N⁶-methyladenine (m6A) in residual SV40 plasmid DNA in mRNA vaccines"—and possibly more evidence of fraud. We also talk a little about the meaning of life, and Jessica's cat shows up near the end. Again, the paper is here.Jessica's lay-person write-up of the paper is here. You can find Jessica on Substack, and on X.I spoke with Jessica back in May, about self-amplifying RNA.And my episode with Kevin, about the DNA contamination, is here.
mRNA vaccines are not supposed to contain DNA. But Dr. Jessica Rose says a new study tested “32 vials of Pfizer and Moderna COVID products that included 16 unique lots… We did not only find DNA, we found it in ALL lots tested and most importantly, the DNA levels were all above pre-designated EMA thresholds of 10 ng/dose.” “We measured the amount of DNA in the vials using 2 methods… (qPCR and fluorometry),” she continues. “It was submitted as evidence on the congressional record by the honorable Senator Ron Johnson.” JP Sears is a comedian, author, and YouTuber known for his satirical take on politics, fitness, and faith. In this week's episode of the Jewellers Academy Podcast, host Jessica Rose is joined by Anna Campbell for a look at common mistakes jewellers make when growing their business and how to overcome them. They also introduce the Jewellery Business Academy (JBA) a year-long programme designed to give jewellers the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive. The 1 year Jewellery Business Academy, starting on Monday 5th January 2026, is built to transform how jewellers run their businesses. What began as an intensive eight-week bootcamp has now evolved into a year-long experience with weekly training, one to one mentoring, expert-led sessions, and monthly themes – making business learning both manageable and sustainable. Whether you're just starting out or have been running your jewellery business for years, this episode shares challenges you may recognise and shows you how to overcome them. 8 Common Mistakes Jewellers Make (and How the Academy Helps) 1. Lack of Industry-Specific Knowledge Business advice can feel too generic – but jewellers face unique challenges. The JBA delivers jewellery-focused training on hallmarking, pricing, trade shows, collections, commissions, and more. Industry experts like Anna Campbell (email marketing), Karen Young (photography, marketing), Elin Horgan (wholesale, design), and Emma René (branding, visual merchandising) bring real-world expertise directly to you. 2. Overwhelm Running a jewellery business can feel like spinning too many plates at once. The JBAy reduces overwhelm by focusing on one topic per month - from pricing and finance to email marketing, launching, and branding - so you can take things step by step. 3. Procrastination Accountability matters. Through monthly group calls in small, supportive cohorts, you'll share progress, discuss challenges, and stay motivated to complete tasks and hit your goals. 4. Isolation Being a maker can feel lonely. That's why the JBA includes a private community where you can connect with fellow jewellers, ask questions, and celebrate wins together so you never have to feel like you're doing it alone. 5. Lack of Confidence Investing in your growth builds confidence. The JBA is designed as a long-term investment in you and your business, helping you feel capable and empowered as a business owner. 6. Fear & Imposter Syndrome Many jewellers doubt whether they're “qualified” enough to run a business. JBA is CPD accredited (new for 2026), meaning you'll earn a recognised certification that adds credibility and reassurance to your skills. 7. Lack of Strategy Without a plan, it's easy to get stuck in day-to-day tasks. Over the course of the year, you'll develop a Jewellery Business Growth Plan - a structured, personalised roadmap that clarifies your vision, sets goals, and keeps you moving forward. 8. Self-Doubt Sometimes you just need expert eyes on your business. With one-to-one mentoring sessions, you'll be matched with specialists in areas like social media, wholesale, or branding, giving you tailored advice and clarity to take confident action. Who is the Jewellery Business Academy For? The Jewellery Business Academy is open to jewellers at every stage, from beginners launching their first collections to established makers seeking to refine, grow, and scale. With flexible payment options spread over 12 months, it's designed to be accessible, supportive, and transformative. Enrolment is open now. Have a look and see if it is for you https://www.jewellersacademy.com/the-jewellery-business-academy
You've probably heard about the paper by David Speicher, Kevin McKernan and Jessica Rose, on the DNA contamination in the Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 vaccines. In this episode, I speak with Kevin McKernan about the paper, including the legal implications: Does it demonstrate fraud on the part of the manufacturers? It's kind of a big deal if it does, because that would void their liability protection provided by the PREP Act....which is why the paper is coming under serious attack. We talk about that too.I also ask Kevin if he thinks we are witnessing the collapse of "fiat science." And he's got a lot to say about that—including some practical ideas for building parallel systems for research and publication.I've spoken with Kevin about this in previous episodes, which you can find here, here, and here. You can read the paper here—I recommend downloading it, just in case. And co-author Jessica Rose did a great lay-person translation, which you can find here.Kevin's Substack—where he goes into more detail on the "PubSmear" attack—is here, and you can also find him on X.
Ever wondered what it's really like to take a jewellery diploma? In this week's episode, host Jessica Rose sits down with this year's Jewellers Academy Diploma Diarists - Tori Foster, Jane Taylor, and Emma René to talk about their experiences studying, teaching, and creating jewellery as part of the Jewellers Academy Diploma programs. The Diploma Diaries is an Instagram initiative where selected students and tutors share their year-long journeys with the wider jewellery-making community. This year's diarists represent three different perspectives: Tori Foster, a jewellery business owner and teacher from Yorkshire, is taking on her fourth diploma, this time in Silver Metal Clay. She shares what it's like starting new projects, finding inspiration, and staying motivated week by week. Follow Tori on Instagram @torifosterjewellery Jane Taylor, a jeweller and tutor since 2001, gives us the inside scoop on the Fine Jewellery Diploma from a mentor's perspective. She opens up about experimenting with new techniques, sharing failures as well as wins, and why pushing yourself creatively is so valuable. Follow Jane on Instagram @jewelledgodalming Emma René, founder of Narratorium and part of the Jewellers Academy team, reveals how she balances family life, work, and study while diving deep into the Fine Jewellery diploma. Together, they explore the joys and challenges of jewellery-making education - from learning complex settings and techniques to overcoming setbacks, managing time, and putting themselves out there online. Do you ever feel like you're great at supporting others but struggle when it comes to prioritising yourself and your own business? You're not alone, and there are things you can do. This week on the Jewellers Academy podcast, Jessica Rose chats with our part-time Community Manager Anna Campbell. Anna is a former psychology lecturer and author of the brand new book Good Girl Rebellion: Build the Business, Break the Rules, Be Limitless, about how women who identify with the ‘good girl' personality can grow businesses that align with who they really are without burning out or trying to force themselves into a model that doesn't fit. Anna shares insights from her new book, including her REBEL methodology: RESILIENT MINDSET - Clear away overwhelm, indecision and fear of criticism and start building confidence and growth. Mindset is the foundation of how we feel and how we build a business so it is a crucial step EVERYDAY ACTION – Finding ways to get things done that actually work for you because you likely are great at prioritising everyone else but you and your business always ends up at the bottom of the list. BOLD MARKETING – At every stage of your business, particularly at the beginning, bold marketing is the key to your success. But stepping into the spotlight and learning to receive doesn't always come naturally so this section of the book is all about how to do this. EMPOWERED PRICING – Change your money mindset, stop undercharging and show up for yourself and your business. This is all about tackling internalised beliefs around money and charging fairly. LIBERATING RESULTS – Creating long-term change through small, manageable shifts. In this episode, Jess and Anna explore why so many creatives and entrepreneurs struggle with self-prioritization, and how we can break free from people-pleasing patterns to build businesses rooted in integrity, confidence, and self-care. If you've ever found traditional business advice overwhelming or anxiety-inducing, this episode offers a gentler, more compassionate approach - one that helps you embrace who you are while still expecting more from yourself. Support Anna If you've been following Jewellers Academy for a while you will recognise Anna. She has worked with Jessica Rose and her businesses since 2012. She teaches on our Diploma in Silver Metal Clay and has filmed a number of jewellery making and business courses with us. The Good Girl Rebellion is available worldwide on Kindle and in paperback, launching on 2nd September 2025. Pick up your copy on release day to help it hit bestseller status! And if you are listening to this episode after 2nd September, the book is out now and is a must-read. https://www.goodgirlrebellion.com/ggr-book About Anna Campbell Anna Campbell is the founder of The Good Girl Rebellion, leading a powerful cultural shift: dismantling the ‘good girl' conditioning that keeps women small, and replacing it with bold, values-led leadership in business and beyond. With over a decade of experience empowering women entrepreneurs, Anna specialises in mindset, pricing, visibility and self-leadership, guiding women to claim their worth and lead with integrity. Her work is backed by real-world results: she was the first hire at a startup that scaled from zero to seven figures and over 30 staff. Rising from Marketing Coordinator to senior leadership, Anna gained hands-on insight into every stage of building a profitable, purpose-driven business. Anna trained as an Associate Certified Coach (International Coaching Federation) with Martha Beck and brings a unique blend of academic and practical expertise to her work. As a former psychology lecturer at a London university, she combines deep psychological expertise with transformative coaching tools to support women to rewrite their internal narratives and reshape their external realities. Her book, Good Girl Rebellion (Rethink Press, September 2025), is a fierce rallying cry for women to stop shrinking and start shaping their own rules of success. A magnetic speaker and media contributor, Anna has been featured on BBC Radio, 5 Live, STV, The Scotsman, Huffington Post and the Daily Record, and is the co-creator of the Full of Ourselves podcast, home to raw, unfiltered conversations about courage, visibility, and building businesses that last. With a signature aesthetic, clear digital voice, and a growing global community, Anna's platforms are a beacon for women ready to break free from perfectionism, people-pleasing and playing small. Her work is more than coaching, it's rebellion, revolution, and a return to self. https://www.goodgirlrebellion.com/ Instagram @annaccampbell
