A special welcome to those of you listening on OccupyProWrestling.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. (STINGER: WWE) We should have a new #1 contender for the NXT Women's Tag Team Titles by the end of the night. Three teams are set to compete for that honor tonight. It'll be NXT Women's Champ Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai vs. Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon vs. Io Shirai & Zoey Stark. Also being promoted for tonight's NXT: Xia Li & Boa vs. Mercedes Martinez & Jake Atlas...and Cameron Grimes will be in action. Drew McIntyre will be in the men's Money In The Bank ladder match. He pinned Riddle with the Claymore to win a 3-Way in the main event of last night's Raw. The match was supposed to be McIntyre vs. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton, but Orton was NOT on Raw last night. So, there was a battle royal to determine who would take his place in the “Last Chance” Qualifying Match for the Men's Money In The Bank match. Riddle won the battle royal, last eliminating Damien Priest, who was back on Raw for the first time since May. We got a rematch from last week: Asuka & Naomi vs. Eva Marie…& Doudrop. This time it was Eva who hung her tag partner out to dry. Only Doudrop overcame the odds and pinned Asuka with a running splash. Nikki Cross cradled Shayna Baszler for a pinfall win. Alexa Bliss showed up at ringside during this match. Used a little hypnosis on Nia Jax for a moment - but then just resorted to kicking down Jax and Reginald before leaving. The team of Charlotte Flair, Natalya & Tamina beat Rhea Ripley, Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke. Charlotte pinned Mandy after getting a blind tag and surprising her with a big boot. After the match, Ripley delivered a chop block to Charlotte's knee. Jaxson Ryker pinned Elias with a Black Hole Slam to win their Strap Match. Samoa Joe says he and Triple H were discussing his return to NXT within hours of Joe's release from WWE back in April. And he said his new job extends beyond just an on-air role. (Samoa Joe NXT Role) Joe speaking with Fox Sports' Ryan Satin. Joe also said he's “absolutely” working toward an in-ring return. (STINGER: ROH) Bandido will challenge Rush for the Ring Of Honor World Championship at the Best In The World pay per view. Bandido earned the shot by winning the Survival Of The Fittest finals: A 6-Man Elimination Match that aired on this past weekend's ROH TV. Also on the show, Matt Taven and Dutch wrestled to a “no contest” when The Righteous got involved. That includes Vita Von Starr, and as a result of her getting involved in that match, she is OUT of the upcoming women's world championship tournament. (STINGER: AEW) On last night's Elevation… Billy & Colten Gunn beat Ryan Nemeth & JD Drake. Billy pinned Nemeth with the Famouser. Matt Hardy & Private Party beat Dark Order's Alex Reynolds, Alan “5” Angels & Colt Cabana. Angels took the pin after he was hit with the Gin & Juice. The Blade pinned Chuck Taylor with his foot on the ropes. Angelico & Jack Evans joined Blade for a post-match beatdown on Taylor. But Orange Cassidy sauntered out...to chase them off. We learned over the weekend that Trent underwent neck fusion surgery. He tweeted that it “went well”, but there's no word on when he may return to action. The date for AEW's upcoming Dynamite show in Boston has been pushed back...from September 8th...to October 27th. Mexico's AAA promotion has announced some new matches for its TripleMania show coming up in August. The Lucha Bros - Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix - will defend the AAA Tag Team Championships in a Triple Threat Match...against Hijo del Vikingo & Laredo Kid...and Black Taurus & A Mystery Partner. Also announced for the show, Murder Clown, Pagano and Chessman vs. Puma King and two mystery partners...and another Marvel Lucha Libre match. The NWA TV Title is on the line tonight's Powerrr. As IMPACT Wrestling got ready to wrap up their stay in Mexico they did it in style by presenting Uncaged on February 15, 2019 headlined by Johnny Impact defending the IMPACT Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship against Brian Cage, Killer Kross, and Moose. But wait the other voice you hear alongside Trent is not our buddy Kyle, oh no that’s a whole different voice but it sounds like it should be familiar. But even before we tell you who that is what the hell happened to Kyle? Again he has missed a taping! Where is Kyle? What has happened to the Kyleman? To the scumbag from New York? Well truth be told ladies and gentlemen the Kyleman is sick and potentially on the brink of facing his mortality as he battles pneumonia in this harsh New York winter. But to cover his ass we got an even better ass. A guy who is a good brother brother. A guy who came through in the clutch late night and a guy who had some awesome insight and you might’ve heard on Trent’s other podcast The Backstage Boys, Basil Mahmud is in the house to talk Uncaged!(and take jabs at Kyle in the process!) Quite possibly one of the most unpredictable shows of the Mexico tapings with a very hot made event that left everybody wondering what is next for the world championship. Only time will tell as we are now heading to Las Vegas to see where all the distraction left in Mexico ends up back home in the United States. Some very interesting feuds were set up as titles were shifted in Mexico and now upon the conclusion of Uncaged we have Taya Valkyrie as the Knockouts Champion, The Lucha Brothers - Pentagon Jr. and Fenix as a Tag Team Champions, Rich Swann as the X-Division Champion and Johnny Impact as the World Heavyweight Champion. after some very conclusive momentum changes in Mexico one can only imagine what’s next! Join Basil and Trent for a full breakdown and analysis along with discussion of past and present experiences with IMPACT Wrestling and a whole lot more on this weeks episode of Total Nonstop Impact - IMPACT talk for IMPACT fans brought to you by the IMPACT LOUNGE! Results: - Taya Valkyrie (c) defeated Tessa Blanchard in a Street Fight to retain the Impact Knockouts Championship - Willie Mack defeated Ethan Page - Team AAA (Aero Star, El Hijo del Vikingo, Psycho Clown & Puma King) defeated Team Impact (Eddie Edwards, Eli Drake, Fallah Bahh & Sami Callihan) to win the 2019 World Cup - Johnny Impact (c) defeated Brian Cage and Killer Kross and Moose in a Four Way match to retain the Impact World Championship CONNECT WITH TOTAL NONSTOP IMPACT: Social Media: Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/WETALKIMPACT Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/WETALKIMPACT Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/WETALKIMPACT Trent's Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/vanillajoke Kyle’s Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/kl_tni Basil’s Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/beezzzzy Streaming Audio: Apple iTunes - https://apple.co/2NpzbqF Stitcher Radio - https://bit.ly/2DjPznT Google Play - https://tinyurl.com/ybh29sfp TuneIn Radio - https://bit.ly/2NreA57 iHeart Radio: https://ihr.fm/2swvl1Z Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2B1zBeL Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/user-625858195 Music: Intro Music by: HEMI - http://www.hemimusic.com
One of the most anticipated tag team matches in IMPACT Wrestling history was set to take place on this episode on February 8th 2019 live from Fronton, Mexico as LAX Santana and Ortiz defended their longest reigning tag team championships against The Lucha Brothers, Pentagon Jr. and Fenix! The crowd was Cero Miedio'ing all night long for what has already become a match of the year contender! This Rich Swann and OVE/Sami Callihan thing keeps getting weirder. What is he holding over Rich's head? It can't just be the poverty thing, there has to be more, right? Rosemary continues to haunt Su Yung and Allie. Hidden messages, disappearing acts, optical illusions, and more keep pushing Allie to the edge. But where does Su Yung fit into all this? Can she keep thing at bay? Johnny Impact is suddenly informed that his main event match at Uncaged, originally thought to be against just Brian Cage is now a 4-way with Cage, Moose, and Kross? This screws Cage just as much as it screws anyone else. What will happen at Uncaged? Moose and Kross are not seeing eye to eye and in case you missed it, Trent recites the short story of the Scorpion and the Frog that Kross brought up as a metaphor for his position. What is going to happen with these two next week? We also had a preview of what to expect for AAA vs. IMPACT next week featuring Puma King, Aerostar, Psycho Clown and Vikingo taking on Eli Drake, Eddie Edwards, Fallah Bahh, and Sami Callihan. Strange combination indeed but a little bit of everything for everyone! All this plus Dummy of the week, our new Lyft partnership code of 'WETALKIMPACT' talk about AAW's Lucha City Limits featuring tons of IMPACT talent! Join us on Total Nonstop IMPACT - IMPACT talk for IMPACT fans featured on The IMPACT Lounge! Results: - Rich Swann & Willie Mack defeated oVe (Dave Crist & Jake Crist) - Kiera Hogan (w/ Jordynne Grace) defeated Allie (w/ Su Yung) - Trey Miguel (w/ Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) defeated Rohit Raju(w/ Raj Singh and Gama Singh) - Sami Callihan defeated Puma King - The Lucha Brothers (Fénix & Pentagon Jr.) defeated Latin American Exchange (Ortiz & Santana) (w/ Konnan) (c) to win the Impact World Tag Team Championship CONNECT WITH TOTAL NONSTOP IMPACT: Social Media: Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/WETALKIMPACT Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/WETALKIMPACT Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/WETALKIMPACT Trent's Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/vanillajoke Kyle's Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/kl_tni Streaming Audio: Apple iTunes - https://apple.co/2NpzbqF Stitcher Radio - https://bit.ly/2DjPznT Google Play - https://tinyurl.com/ybh29sfp TuneIn Radio - https://bit.ly/2NreA57 iHeart Radio: https://ihr.fm/2swvl1Z Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2B1zBeL Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/user-625858195 Music: Intro Music by: HEMI - http://www.hemimusic.com
Episode 101: Legendary Matches Lucha Talk is still rolling along to close out 2018, with this week's episode covering two huge shows. In AAA it's Guerra de Titanes with some great booking and a questionable main event. From there we go over the recent WWE tryouts in Chile which featured various Méxican Luchadores & Luchadoras, advice for Dragon Bane's future. Then we go over the news with Puma King in DDT and an update on Angel o Demonio & Cuervo. Then we finally go to CMLL and the breakdown of a mystifying Leyendas show along with an equally strange edition of the Bodybuilding contest and if one day Astral will get his due! Talk Lucha with the Trio on Twitter: @DylanZeroSky - @therealfredo - @MICROMANFEVER
This week on Lucha Talk the Trio cover all things about Dylan's all time favorite wrestler, Blue Panther's 40th Anniversary Show. From Stukita flipping to Halcon Suriano Jr. and his future, to Pamterita del Ring's unexpected return to greatness, to the meaningless Trios match CMLL main events with for no reason, it's all gone over. Then things heat up with the return of the yearly Dia de Muertos shows, and of course the kick off next week with the Rey del Inframundo #1 Contender's match to see who will face Sansón at the hallowed shows. From there we give updates on Volador & Soberano in Japan, Ultimo Guerrero winning the CMLL Heavyweight Title, ROH's next two Luchadores coming in from CMLL, & Puma King going to DDT in Japan. We go through a AAA show Micro calls the Sunday Night Heat of Twitch, a Lucha Underground show with 4 times the Jake Strong, and we even get into Fredo's recent journey to PWG and what he thought of Hechicero vs Zack Sabre Jr. , meeting Bandido & Flamita, and the PWG experience. After sharing tales of both traveling and botches (POOR WRESTLER B!), Captain Jack (@JackHeartless) and Chris (@BrasilianFury) break it down to the brass tacks, past the Bismarck dance and the cabbage patch… They came. They saw. They went to BOLA. And it RULED. With no less than 8(!) must-see contests, breakout performances from Ilja Dragunov, Puma King, Robbie Eagles, T-Hawk, Darby Allin, and a BIG reminder that Shingo Takagi is still a beast, this was the best Battle of Los Angeles to date, and the crew will not hesitate to tell you why. Sponsored by WrestleCrate (@wrestlecrateusa) and Lapel Yeah (@LapelYeahPins) Opening theme by Lemi and the Captain. Closing theme by Ayumi Nakamura (@ayumi_nakamura).
The podcast is back from its summer holidays just in time to discuss a big week of lucha libre news and to help us digest it all, we welcome back Rob Viper (@robviper) to the show.CMLL just announced the card for the Anniversary show in September and needless to say, many folks are not happy we are not getting a Rush vs LA Park main event. We go over the whole card and spend plenty of time discussing why it did not happen, who's to blame, who's spinning their version as to why the match is not happening this year and more. There is the usual talk about CMLL booking philosophy and business management, as well as talking about all the big crowds this year, in Mexico CIty, but also in Puebla and Guadalajara.Rob also tells us about his recent trip to Mexico to see a bunch of shows, including the Negro Casas 40th Anniversary card a few weeks ago (see below), the Mexa Wresting and Pura Raza show, featuring (friend of the pod) Hechicero vs Christopher Daniels. We also discuss the recent passing of the legendary Villano III, including some match recommendations (including the famous WON Match of the Year vs Atlantis). For more on Villano III's career, make sure to read Fredo Esparza's obit at Luchaworld.Other topics include: the atmosphere at lucha shows compared to American/Canadian shows and online pals like Puma King (@pumakingoficial) and Zeuxis (@ZeuxisLucero) leaving CMLL and going independent and their upcoming big events in PWG and the Mae Young Classic, respectively. At the end, we also sneak in some summertime hockey chat, since John Tavares just had his first public skate as a member of Rob's Maple Leafs.

As sure as night follows day and 'each-way bet' follows Joey Barton, we're back with the second part of our comparison between the football of yesteryear and the football we know in the modern era. The question is, which era's best? Is it the era of clunky football video games, Puma King football boots and hooliganism, or the era of foreign club ownership, complicated football kit design and digital advertising boards? Listen in to the concluding part of our podcast to find out, and rest assured - no fire alarms feature in this one in any way, shape or form...
