This apparently affected Boa because he grabbed Gacy with a choke hold and wouldn't let go, leading to the DQ. Kay Lee Ray pinned Sarray. Solo Sikoa pinned LA Knight to win a 3-Way that also included Grayson Waller. The Creed Brothers beat Kushida & Ikemen Jiro. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, October 22, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: WWE) Expect some fallout from Thursday's Crown Jewel pay per view on tonight's SmackDown. Roman Reigns is STILL the Universal Champion coming out of Crown Jewel. He took advantage of a knocked-out referee, hit Brock Lesnar in the head with the title belt and pinned him to retain the gold. That title belt was slid into the ring by Paul Heyman, but who it was intended for was left...deliberately vague. Tonight's SmackDown is also the first WWE show with the new post-Draft rosters now in effect...and the situation involving the two women's singles championships on WWE's main roster remains a bit of a mess. Becky Lynch is still the SmackDown Women's Champion. She pinned Sasha Banks with a rollup while holding the bottom rope to win a 3-Way over Banks and Bianca Belair. So, Lynch is now officially part of the Raw roster, despite holding the SmackDown Women's Title...while Charlotte Flair is now on the SmackDown roster while holding the Raw Women's Title. We still don't know what WWE is going to do about this. Getting back to Crown Jewel...Big E hit the Big Ending and pinned Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship. Xavier Woods is the King Of The Ring. He pinned Finn Balor with a springboard elbow drop. Zelina Vega is the first winner of the Queen's Crown tournament. She pinned Doudrop with a Code Red after about six minutes of action. Goldberg pinned Bobby Lashley to win their No Holds Barred match...after Goldberg speared Lashley off the stage. Edge beat Seth Rollins in their Hell In A Cell showdown. Mansoor beat Mustafa Ali. After the match, Tarek Hamdi, an Olympic silver medalist for Saudi Arabia in taekwondo, showed up and knocked out Ali. Randy Orton & Riddle beat AJ Styles & Omos to retain the Raw Tag Titles. Styles took the pin. The Usos beat Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander on the kickoff show. On Thursday's NXT UK… Jordan Devlin pinned Joe Coffey with the Devlin Side in the main event. Aleah James pinned Xia Brookside with a diving sunset flip from the second rope. Xia was NOT happy about this result. Jack Starz & Dave Mastiff got a DQ win over Symbiosis after Eddie Dennis attacked Starz with a steel chair. (STINGER: AEW) AEW's World Title Eliminator Tournament begins on tonight's Rampage...with Orange Cassidy vs. Powerhouse Hobbs. The TBS Championship Tournament bracket will be revealed. Also, AEW Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker vs. Anna Jay… And Andrade El Idolo vs. Pac. (STINGER: New Japan) The biggest story to come out of Thursday may be one we didn't expect - the surprise in-ring return of Katsuyori Shibata. It happened just after the intermission of New Japan's G1 Climax Final show. Just about everyone was stunned to see Shibata walk out for an unannounced exhibition match against Zack Sabre Jr. Wearing little more than shorts and sneakers, the two grappled their way to a time limit draw after a mere FIVE minutes of action. This was NOT a hard-hitting match...but for fans of Shibata...it was something...and the hope that there may be more to come. Shibata was forced into retirement by a head injury, suffered during a match back in 2017. The G1 Climax final itself...was a bit of a buzzkill. Kota Ibushi injured his right arm when he missed a Phoenix Splash. It was ruled that Ibushi could not continue...and Kazuchika Okada was declared the G1 winner. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling last night put the final pieces in place for Saturday's Bound For Glory pay per view. The Good Brothers will defend the Impact Tag Titles in a 3-Way against BOTH FinJuice AND Bullet Club's Chris Bey & Hikuleo. The challenging teams met last night - but the match ended in a double pin...after two referees ended up in the ring and both counted a pinfall. The six wrestlers who will meet on Saturday to decide the first Impact Digital Media Champion came together for a 3-Way Tag Team Match last night. John Skyler & Tenille Dashwood beat Crazzy Steve & Chelsea Green and Jordynne Grace & Fallah Bahh. Dashwood pinned Fallah Bahh after hitting him with the Spotlight Kick. Also last night...Mickie James pinned Savannah Evans with her signature DDT. Trey Miguel beat Alex Zayne. AND Brian Myers kicked Sam Beale and Manny Lemons out from under his Learning Tree. W. Morrissey beat Jake Something on Before The Impact. (STINGER: ROH) It's all Violence Unlimited vs. The Foundation on this weekend's Ring Of Honor TV. Jay Lethal goes one on one with Homicide. Plus, Tony Deppen vs. Rhett Titus...and Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. Jonathan Gresham & HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, October 22. (STINGER: WWE) The date is set for the latest showdown between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. It'll happen on October 21st...when WWE returns to Saudi Arabia for its latest Crown Jewel show. WWE announced the match Thursday, but did not promise that Reigns will defend the Universal Title...because he has a title defense against Finn Balor at Extreme Rules on September 26th. The Street Profits will get another shot at The Usos and the SmackDown Tag Titles at Extreme Rules. Their title match last Friday ended in a disqualification. As of Thursday night, there are no matches announced for tonight's SmackDown. WWE announced Thursday that MVP suffered a broken rib from an RKO by Randy Orton on this past Monday's Raw...and MVP “is out indefinitely”. Pretty Deadly are still the NXT UK Tag Team Champions. They beat Joe & Mark Coffey to retain the gold in the main event of Thursday's NXT UK. Also on the show, Noam Dar beat Kenny Williams to advance to the finals of the Heritage Cup #1 Contender Tournament. Emilia McKenzie beat Stevie Turner. After the match, Turner was laid out by the suspended Blair Davenport. There was also a vignette for Bailey Matthews - son of William Regal - and he has a new ring name: Charlie Dempsey. (STINGER: AEW) There are TWO title matches on tonight's AEW Rampage. The Lucha Brothers defend the AEW Tag Titles for the first time...against The Butcher & The Blade. Fuego Del Sol gets another shot at Miro's TNT Championship. Only this time, Fuego's new car is also on the line. Plus, Anna Jay vs. The Bunny...and we'll hear from Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson. (STINGER: Impact) We have FOUR new matches announced for Impact Wrestling's Victory Road show. That's an Impact Plus exclusive coming up on Saturday. The Good Brothers will defend the Impact Tag Titles against Rich Swann & Willie Mack. Also now set for Victory Road...Matt Cardona vs. Rohit Raju in a No Disqualification Match… Tenille Dashwood vs. Taylor Wilde... And Steve Maclin vs. TJP vs. Petey Williams. Petey caught TJP in a rollup and pinned him on last night's Impact. Maclin took out both guys after the match. Also last night, Decay's Black Taurus & Crazzy Steve beat Violent By Design's Rhino & Deaner. Steve pinned Deaner. Eric Young blamed Rhino for the loss...and Young and the rest of VBD beat up on Rhino. It appears he's out of the group. The team of Impact Champion Christian Cage, X-Division Champion Josh Alexander, Chris Sabin, Sami Callihan & Eddie Edwards beat the team of Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, W. Morrissey, Moose & Brian Myers. Alexander pinned Myers with the C4. Trey Miguel submitted Matthew Rehwoldt. Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo attacked Miguel after the match. That drew out Mickie James and she brawled with Purrazzo. Plus, John Skyler used a handful of tights to pin Laredo Kid. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's G1 Climax 31 begins Saturday in Osaka, with five matches from the A Block - headlined by Shingo Takagi vs. Tomohiro Ishii.. Also on Saturday's card...Tetsuya Naito vs. Zack Sabre Jr...KENTA vs. Toru Yano...Kota Ibushi vs. Yujiro Takahashi...and Great-O-Khan vs. Tanga Loa. A reminder...there is no New Japan Strong tonight. It's moving to its new Saturday night time slot starting this week. (STINGER: ROH) This weekend's Ring Of Honor TV has Mike Bennett vs. Rhett Titus in a Pure Rules Match. (STINGER: WWE) Just days before TakeOver 36 on Sunday...NXT is rolling out a pair of title matches on tonight's show. Kushida defends his cruiserweight championship against Roderick Strong. Plus, MSK put the NXT Tag Titles on the line against Imperium's Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner. Also tonight, the second semifinal match in the NXT Breakout Tournament: Duke Hudson vs. Carmelo Hayes. RKBro is BACK! And they'll challenge AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag Titles at SummerSlam. Riddle rescued Orton from a beating at the hands of Omos. Orton declared he respects Riddle and the two shook hands. Earlier, Styles pinned Riddle with the Styles Clash. Also added to SummerSlam, Alexa Bliss vs. Eva Marie. Drew McIntyre beat Veer & Shanky in a 2-on-1 match, pinning Shanky with a Claymore. That means Veer & Shanky will be banned from ringside for McIntyre's match against Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. Rhea Ripley pinned Raw Women's Champion Nikki ASH with the Riptide in a non-title match. After the match, Nikki went after Charlotte Flair, who was sitting in on commentary. That led to a tag team main event, where Charlotte & Nia Jax beat Nikki & Rhea. Charlotte pinned Rhea. Damian Priest pinned The Miz with a Brogue Kick - right in front of United States Champion Sheamus, who was on commentary at the time. John Morrison walked out on Miz during the match. Earlier, he learned Miz had been medically cleared for WEEKS before he finally got out his wheelchair last Monday. Mansoor got an outside assist from Mustafa Ali and pinned Mace. NXT Champion Karrion Kross quickly submitted Jeff Hardy with the Kross Jacket in a non-title match. Survivor Series is set for Sunday, November 21st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark has a big 8-Man Tag - Jurassic Express and the Varsity Blonds teaming up against The Wingmen. Also tonight, the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian vs. Brandon Cutler...Matt Hardy vs. Wheeler Yuta. Some notable names will make their AEW debuts. Lee Moriarty goes up against Dante Martin...and Masha Slamovich faces Penelope Ford. Plus, Kiera Hogan gets another look against Kris Statlander. Hogan made her AEW debut on last night's Elevation...with a loss to Hikaru Shida. Also on last night's show...Diamante pinned Julia Hart after she misdirected the referee, pulled a chain out of a corner pad and then hit Julia with it. Diamante continued to beatdown after the match until Big Swole ran in for the rescue. Joey Janela used a handful of tights to roll up and pin Alan “5” Angels...and the Lucha Brothers beat The Hybrid2. New names announced for the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. The AEW tandem of Red Velvet & KiLynn King will be in the NWA Women's Tag Team Title tournament. Plus, Thunder Kitty will be in the Invitational Cup battle royale. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV...Max The Impaler beat Hollidead in a first-round match in the women's title tournament. Also, Flip Gordon pinned Homicide to win a 10-Man “All-Stars vs. Champions” Tag Team main event. (STINGER: New Japan) COVID-19 concerns are leading to more changes for New Japan. This all started over the weekend, when IWGP World Heavyweight Champ Shingo Takagi and BUSHI were found to have fevers. The results of PCR tests still aren't back. So, Shingo and BUSHI are off of Tuesday's show...along with Testsuya Naito, SANADA, Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo and Gedo. The winner of New Japan's Super Junior Tag League will be decided on Tuesday's show. First, Junior Heavyweight Champ Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask face Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato. Eagles & Tiger Mask are still alive in the tournament but they need to win and get some help. The main event has the Junior Tag Champs Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo vs. El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. If the Bullet Club tandem wins they take the tournament. If Despy & Kanemaru win, we could have a three-way tiebreaker to sort out. Getting back to Togo & Gedo, their absence from Monday's show means they'll miss their final Super Junior Tag League match. Their opponents, Roppongi 3K, dissolved as a team. So, New Japan is declaring the match a double forfeit - with neither team receiving any points. The breakup of Roppongi 3K was a violent one. SHO hung YOH out to dry during their match Monday against Despy & Kanemaru. YOH eventually succumbed to the numbers. After the match, SHO made his intentions clear and attacked YOH. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight's SmackDown is going to be unlike any that have come before. Part of the show will broadcast from the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in Miami - including at least two matches: Bianca Belair defending the SmackDown Women's Championship against Carmella...and Big E vs. Apollo Crews. Part of a video screen at the festival site collapsed on Thursday. No one was injured. Repairs are expected to be complete in time for the festival to open as scheduled. The rest of tonight's SmackDown will emanate from Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. John Cena is set to appear LIVE. WWE is also promoting the SmackDown debut of Toni Storm. We have a new date for the NXT UK Championship match between WALTER and Ilja Dragunov. It'll happen in the United States...at TakeOver 36...on August 22nd. Pretty Deadly still hold the NXT UK Tag Titles. They beat Subculture's Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster on Thursday's show. (STINGER: Impact) Bullet Club's dirty laundry was aired out on last night's Impact Wrestling. Jay White was in the Impact Zone last night. He said he's in Impact to go after David Finlay ahead of their upcoming match at New Japan's Resurgence show. Then, White - the leader of Bullet Club - directly addressed The Elite. He said the Good Brothers bid to rejoin the group was denied...though White said they can appeal his decision if they want. This drew out the Good Brothers and Kenny Omega. After some verbal sparring, the Good Brothers attacked White. That's when Chris Bey ran out to rescue White. Earlier in the show, White offered Bey a spot in Bullet Club. Bey has yet to formally accept the offer. Anyway...It'll be White & Bey vs. the Good Brothers on next week's Impact. Bey opened last night's Impact by pinning Rohit Raju with the Art Of Finesse. As for Omega, he literally bumped into the X-Division Champion Josh Alexander backstage. It appears we could be heading toward a showdown between those two. Havok & Rosemary beat Fire n' Flava to retain the Knockouts Tag Titles in last night's main event. One-half of Fire n' Flava - Kiera Hogan - announced earlier in the day that this latest set of tapings is her last with Impact. She told fans she's going to “see what else is out there for me”. Matt Cardona, Jake Something, & Chelsea Green beat Tenille Dashwood, Sam Beale, & Brian Myers. Green pinned Beale with the Unprettier. Taylor Wilde returned to Impact during this match...and interrupted Kaleb With A K's interference. FinJuice beat Ace Austin & Madman Fulton. Juice Robinson rolled up Fulton for the pin. Eddie Edwards and W. Morrissey brawled in the parking lot outside the Skyway Studios. Morrissey retreated after Edwards found a pair of kendo sticks. Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo accepted an invitation from Mickie James to defend her title at the NWA Empowerrr pay per view next month. (STINGER: AEW) Thunder Rosa is All Elite. AEW announced she's now with the company full-time after breaking early from her contract with the NWA...which was supposed to run through the end of the year. Jonathan Gresham will defend the Pure Title against his fellow Foundation member Rhett Titus at the Glory By Honor show in Philadelphia on Friday, August 20th. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Hiromu Takahashi tweeted Thursday he's been cleared by doctors to return to action. Takahashi has been out with a torn pectoral muscle. New Japan's Summer Struggle tour rolls on Friday. On Thursday's show…Taichi scored a big win over Tetsuya Naito in the main event. The semi-main between SANADA and Zack Sabre Jr. ended in a double pinfall. Friday's Summer Struggle show has Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. KENTA in the main event. Plus,. Tomohiro Ishii vs. EVIL. In Pro-Wrestling NOAH...Masa Kitamiya & Kaito Kiyomiya are the new GHC tag champions...after defeating Katsuhiko Nakajima & Manabu Soya on Thursday. Also announced for tonight's NXT...Cruiserweight Champion Kushida tags with Bobby Fish to face The Diamond Mine's Roderick Strong & Tyler Rust Getting back to last night… There is a NEW Raw Women's Champion. Nikki Cross - Nikki Ash - Nikki A.S.H. - whatever you choose to call her. She cashed in Money In The Bank on Charlotte Flair...and pinned her with a crossbody off the top rope. Flair had just defended the title against Rhea Ripley in the main event. Ripley won by disqualification when Flair hit her with the title belt. There were some big returns on last night's Raw. Goldberg is back. He confronted WWE Champion Bobby Lashley...and informed him he's “next”. Lashley had just pinned Keith Lee to win a non-title match. Lee returned to Raw for the first time since last February to answer Lashley's open challenge. The WWE Women's Tag Champs Natalya & Tamina beat Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler in a non-title match. Tamina pinned Baszler with a superkick. Baszler berated Reginald and Jax after the match...and Jax sided with Baszler. She headbutted Reggie and left with Baszler. Moments later Akira Tozawa wandered into the ring and Reginald pinned him to win the 24/7 Championship. The United States Champion Sheamus beat Humberto Carillo. Riddle & The Viking Raiders beat John Morrison and the Raw Tag Champs AJ Styles & Omos. Morrison took the pin. Jaxson Ryker beat Elias in a Symphony Of Destruction Match. Drew McIntyre attacked Jinder Mahal and his crew. McIntyre battered Mahal's new pal Shanky with more than 20 chair shots. John Cena opened the show, but his focus is clearly on Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Cena said he'll appear on Friday's SmackDown. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark has an 8-Man Tag with a lot of moving parts. It's the Varsity Blonds & Dark Order's Alan “5” Angels & 10 vs. The Acclaimed & Private Party. Also tonight, The Bunny vs. Big Swole...and Thunder Rosa vs. KiLynn King. Colten Gunn remains UNBEATEN in AEW. On last night's Elevation, he and Billy Gunn teamed up to beat Lee Johnson & Brock Anderson. Colten used a handful of tights to keep Johnson down for the pin. Frankie Kazarian submitted Baron Black. Also, Red Velvet beat Julia Hart...and Eddie Kingston & Penta El Zero Miedo beat JD Drake & Cezar Bononi. STP's newest member, O'Shay Edwards pinned Keys with a powerbomb. Also on the show, Rey Horus beat Fred Yehi... And Mandy Leon held onto her spot in the upcoming women's title tournament. Joe Coffey beat Rampage Brown in the main event. After the match, Coffey and Brown appeared to be discussing a rematch. That's when Ilja Dragunov showed up...implying these three will have some business to settle. Earlier in the show, Dragunov pinned Noam Dar with Torpedo Moscow. Also, Joseph Conners pinned Flash Morgan Webster with a hangman's neckbreaker...and Jordan Devlin made a brief appearance - his first time on NXT UK since before WrestleMania. (STINGER: AEW) A special Friday Night Dynamite tonight, starting at 10PM Eastern. And there's a new match just added to the show on Thursday - Red Velvet vs. The Bunny. AEW regular Madi Wrenkowski says she'll miss 4-6 weeks of action due to a fractured nose. (STINGER: Impact) The main event of Impact's Against All Odds show is in some doubt. Moose is set to challenge Kenny Omega for the Impact World Championship...but on last night's Impact...the main event between Moose and Sami Callihan was interrupted by Omega and the Good Brothers. They attacked Moose. That meant a DQ victory for Callihan. Scott D'Amore now wants to add Callihan to the title match at Against All Odds - making it a 3-Way. Don Callis says AEW Owner Tony Khan won't want Callihan wrestling Omega. D'Amore responded by saying Khan will be on next week's Impact so D'Amore can pitch adding Callihan in-person. The Knockouts Title Match at Against All Odds may also see a late change. Rosemary and Havok will meet on next week's Impact. If Havok wins, she gets added to the Title Match at Against All Odds. If Rosemary wins, she gets Deonna Purrazzo all to herself. Josh Alexander is still the X-Division Champion. He survived a 60-Minute Iron Man Match against TJP last night. It began on Before The Impact...and extended into the opening minutes of Impact's main show...and then it went into overtime. Alexander held a 1-0 lead...and had TJP in an ankle lock...but TJP managed to reverse it into a rollup with just seconds left on the clock to even the match and force overtime. In OT, Alexander hit Divine Intervention...and pinned TJP for the win. Fire n' Flava beat Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering to retain the Knockouts Tag Titles. Grace took the pin. Kimber Lee & Susan will get the next title shot at Against All Odds. Rich Swann was set for a match against W. Morrissey...but Morrissey attacked Swann before the match...brawled with security...and the match never happened. Willie Mack eventually ran off Morrissey. That'll be the match on next week's Impact...and they'll try again with Swann vs. Morrissey at Against All Odds. Another title match announced last night for Against All Odds: Rhyno & Deaner defending the tag titles against Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus. Jake Something beat Rohit Raju in a Tables Match. Satoshi Kojima blew through Deaner to win his Impact in-ring debut. We also got the first vignette promoting the Impact debut of Steve Maclin - the former Steve Cutler of WWE's Forgotten Sons. Impact announced last night a limited number of fans will be in attendance for the Slammiversary pay per view in Nashville on July 17th. (STINGER: New Japan) The aforementioned Kojima will appear on tonight's New Japan Strong. He'll tag with Karl Fredericks against Team Filthy's JR Kratos and Danny Limelight. A few other news bits from Japan… Kzy (kay-zee) is the winner of Dragon Gate's King Of Gate tournament. He defeated Kota Minoura (mee-NOR-ah) in the final match on Thursday. (STINGER: ROH) This weekend's Ring Of Honor TV has the first match in the Survival Of The Fittest tournament: Flamita vs. Rey Horus. Also, a Pure Rules Match between Silas Young and Josh Woods. One other ROH note from earlier this week. O'Shay Edwards has apparently joined Shane Taylor Promotions. Major League Wrestling is bringing in one of the hottest names on the U.S. independent scene - Lee Moriarty...and will debut with MLW at its show in Philadelphia on July 10th. Moriarty was one of TWO new names revealed during Round 3 of MLW's Open Draft. Aramis (air-uh-MEEZ) is also joining the league...under a multi-year deal. MLW confirmed two names returning to MLW for its summer restart: Zenshi...and Savio Vega. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, June 4. There will also be a Celebration Of The Inner Circle, hosted by Eric Bischoff...AND a celebration of Hikaru Shida's one-year reign as AEW Women's Champion. While speaking with the media on Thursday, Cody Rhodes strongly hinted at the creation of a new championship in AEW. (Cody On New Titles) That clip from Thursday's media briefing with Cody. Cody also denied recent rumors of in-fighting among the EVP's of AEW. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight's SmackDown is promoting the first-ever meeting between The Usos...and the Street Profits. On Thursday's NXT UK...Trent Seven pinned Sam Gradwell with a burning hammer in the main event. Also, Nathan Frazer pinned Sha Samuels with a frog splash. Meiko Satomura's SECOND chance at Kay Lee Ray's UK women's championship is now set for the June 10th episode of NXT UK. Fightful is reporting WWE has released Tom Phillips, who served as lead announcer for just about every WWE brand during his time with the company. (STINGER: ROH) This weekend's Ring of Honor TV has a big EIGHT-man tag team main event. The Foundation - Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams & Rhett Titus - vs. Violence Unlimited - Brody King, Tony Deppen, Chris Dickinson & Homicide. Also on the show, Joe Keys vs. LSG. The winner gets a spot in the rankings for either the Pure Title or the TV Title. On ROH's YouTube Thursday...the third clash between O'Shay Edwards and Sledge...ended with Edwards delivering an Air Raid Crash from the second rope through a pair of tables...getting the pin and the win. (STINGER: Impact) New matches announced for Impact's Against All Odds show. Satoshi Kojima - who's going simply as “Kojima” in Impact - will face Joe Doering. Kojima made his Impact debut last night...at the expense of Violent By Design - interrupting their in-ring promo...and challenging Doering. Deonna Purrazzo will defend the Knockouts Championship at Against All Odds...against Rosemary. She pinned Purrazzo to win a 10-Woman Tag last night. There were a lot of moving parts in this one. Taylor Wilde was nowhere to be found before the match...so Jordynne Grace took her place...leading to Grace and Rachael Ellering brawling with Fire ‘n Flava. That's setting up a Knockouts Tag Title rematch on next week's Impact. Fire n' Flava defending against Ellering and Grace. Josh Alexander will defend his X-Division Championship against TJP...in the first-ever 60-Minute Iron Man Match in Impact's history. It will happen next Thursday...on BEFORE The Impact. The match was made after TJP and Fallah Bahh beat Alexander and Petey Williams on last night's Impact.. TJP pinned Alexander with the Mamba Splash. The Good Brothers beat Moose & Sami Callihan in last night's main event. Moose and Callihan couldn't get on the same page...and Moose eventually left Callihan alone to take a Magic Killer and the pin. Moose beat up on Callihan after the match. (STINGER: AEW) AEW is just weeks away from its first live touring since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It announced dates and locations for three upcoming Dynamites - the first to be held away from Jacksonville's Daily's Place in NINE months. Dynamite will be at Miami's James L. Knight Center on July 7th...followed by two Wednesdays in Texas - July 14th at the H-E-B Center near Austin...and July 21st at the Curtis Culwell Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Tickets for all three shows go on sale Friday morning. AEW says it will comply with all local guidelines concerning COVID-19 safety - that includes seating capacities. AEW also announced a pair of rescheduled live events. First, in St. Louis on FRIDAY, November 5th. That's being called an “AEW TNT television taping”. Also, a live Dynamite in New Orleans on January 12, 2022! We'll get another look at former Lucha Underground Champion Marty Casaus on tonight's AEW Dark. He'll go one-on-one with Jungle Boy. Also tonight, Brian Cage vs. Bear Bronson. Plus, Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston will be in tag team action. On last night's Dark: Elevation...Moxley delivered a Paradigm Shift from the second rope to pin Danny Limelight. Dark Order's Alex Reynolds pinned Private Party's Isiah Kassidy with a rollup. After the match, Matt Hardy and Marq Quen helped Kassidy lay out Reynolds, John Silver and Colt Cabana. Also, Pro wrestling lawyer Mark Sterling pitched himself as the one to manage Jade Cargill, and she was at least willing to listen as she followed Sterling backstage. (STINGER: WWE) TWO title matches on tonight's NXT. Raquel Gonzalez defends her NXT Women's Title against Mercedes Martinez. Santos Escobar gets his rematch for Kushida's Cruiserweight Title. It's Two Out Of Three Falls. Plus, NXT Champ Karrion Kross in a non-title match against Austin Theory...and Killian Dane vs. Imperium's Alexander Wolfe. A new match added to WrestleMania Backlash - The Miz vs. Damien Priest in a Lumberjack Match. Damian Priest pinned John Morrison on last night's Raw...after The Miz's attempt to help Morrison backfired. The gave Priest the right to choose the stipulation for the Backlash match. Raw Women's Champ Rhea Ripley pinned Asuka last night in a non-title match...as Charlotte Flair looked on. Those women will be in a 3-Way for the title at Backlash. Charlotte and Asuka were also on opposite sides of a 6-Woman tag to open the show. It was brought to a screeching halt when Alexa Bliss suddenly appeared on-stage - riding her swing set...alongside Lilly. Bliss said she's keeping her eye on “someone”. The match resumed...but then, Shayna Baszler appeared to lose control of her legs. Asuka swooped in with a shining wizard to get the pin. Charlotte knocked out Asuka after the match. Alexa and Lilly chuckled as they looked on. End scene. An ugly ending to a match between Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo. Carrillo was delivering a sunset flip powerbomb from the apron to the arena floor, but Sheamus landed on Carrillo's left leg. The ref waved off the match and declared Sheamus the winner. A win for Carrillo would've earned him a shot at Sheamus' U.S. Title. The main event was a non-title match between WWE Champ Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. But Braun Strowman interfered and power slammed BOTH men as the show ended. Jinder Mahal returned to Raw with a win over Jeff Hardy. Shelton Benjamin pinned Cedric Alexander with a T-Bone Suplex. Also, the team of R-K-Bro and Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston beat AJ Styles, Omos, Elias and Jaxson Ryker. Randy Orton pinned Elias with an RKO. After the match, Orton RKO'd Woods and Kingston. Riddle was befuddled. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV, Angelina Love beat Quinn McKay, thanks to a timely distraction by Mandy Leon. EC3 & Flip Gordon beat The Briscoes. EC3 pinned Mark Briscoe after Gordon hit Mark with a chain. But EC3 never saw Flip's cheating. And Brian Johnson's open challenge was answered by...PCO. Johnson kicked out of PCO's moonsault...but he later beat Johnson via submission. The NWA Tag Team Titles will be defended tonight on Super Powerrr. Aron Stevens and Kratos facing a challenge from Thom Lattimer and Chris Adonis. Plus, Matt Cross vs. Matthew Mims - the winner gets a TV Title shot...and Jax Dane vs. Slice Boogie in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, May 11. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight's SmackDown will be a special “throwback” edition. As for action in the ring, WWE is promoting Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins. There will be some new names on tonight's 205 Live: Ari Sterling - the former Alex Zayne...and Ikemen Jiro. Amir Jordan is LEAVING NXT UK. That's the result of his loss to Kenny Williams on Thursday's show. A match between Ilja Dragunov and Dave Mastiff ended in a referee stoppage after an elbow from Dragunov struck Mastiff square in the nose. Also, Trent Seven pinned Saxon Huxley, thanks in part to a timely distraction from Sam Gradwell. Next week, there will be a #1 Contender's Gauntlet Match for a shot at Kay Lee Ray's UK Women's title: Isla Dawn vs. Jinny vs. Xia Brookside vs. Emilia McKenzie vs. Dani Luna. Another wrestler, Amale (uh-MEL), was not happy she was left out of this. She attacked Brookside during Thursday's show. (STINGER: ROH) This weekend's Ring Of Honor TV has the ROH in-ring debut of backstage broadcaster Quinn McKay. She'll face Angelina Love. If McKay wins, she is IN the upcoming ROH Women's Title Tournament. Also on the show, The Briscoes vs. EC3 and Flip Gordon...and Brian Johnson will issue an open challenge. New Japan's El Phantasmo made his Impact debut...and used his Sudden Death superkick to beat VSK. Also last night, Doc Gallows pinned Juice Robinson...Taylor Wilde beat Susan...and Rachael Ellering pinned Kiera Hogan. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong will see Jon Moxley in action. He's tagging with Chris Dickinson against the team of Yuji Nagata and Ren Narita. Mox will defend his IWGP United States Championship against Nagata on next Wednesday's AEW Dynamite. The COVID-19 state of emergency in Japan is being extended...and expanded. The country's Prime Minister is pushing the end date through the end of May. The state of emergency covers areas in and around Tokyo and Osaka...with Aichi and Fukuoka now added to the list. Some of the restrictions on businesses are expected to be eased. The encouraging news for pro wrestling companies in Japan is that the ban on spectators at large sporting events will be scaled back. Attendance will be capped at 5,000 people - or 50% of the venue's capacity. That would be good news for pro wrestling companies, including New Japan - which has a major show in Tokyo Dome on May 29th. Salina de la Renta is leaving MLW. Her final appearance was on last Wednesday's Fusion...when she crossed paths on-screen with the “El Jefe” of Azteca Underground. The man known in Lucha Underground as “Dario Cueto” will get a new name, according to MLW's Court Bauer. (Bauer On Cueto Name) Bauer speaking with Post Wrestling's John Pollock. Bauer says the deal with actor Luis Fernandez-Gil will keep him with MLW “for many years to come”. Bauer was asked about reports of recent talks between MLW and WWE, but he declined to comment. We also learned that A-Kid will defend his Heritage Cup Title against Tyler Bate...in THREE weeks. (STINGER: Impact) Better late than never for Kenny Omega. On last night's Impact, Scott D'Amore threatened to STRIP Omega of his newly won Impact World Championship - and suspend him - if Omega didn't appear in-person on the show. Omega arrived with minutes to spare - and just in time for he and the Good Brothers to run in on the main event between Sami Callihan and Eddie Edwards - a qualifying match for a 6-Way #1 Contender's Match for Omega's Impact Championship. Juice Robinson and David Finlay quickly followed to join the fight. Impact later clarified on Twitter that Callihan won the match via disqualification. So, he qualifies for the #1 Contender's Match at the Impact Plus exclusive show Under Siege. Also qualifying last night - Chris Bey, who beat Jake Something - with an assist from Rohit Raju...and Matt Cardona, who avenged his loss at Rebellion to Brian Myers. Three more qualifying matches are set for next week - Rohit Raju vs. Trey Miguel, Rhino vs. Chris Sabin, and Moose vs. James Storm. Getting back to Edwards, he's still heading to Under Siege. Impact announced he'll be in a 6-Man Tag alongside FinJuice to take on Omega and the Good Brothers. The main event saw Keiji Muto use a blitz of Shining Wizards to pin Masa Kitamiya and retain the GHC Heavyweight Title. After the match, Muto was challenged by Naomichi Marufuji...and that match is now set for the Cyber Fight Festival on June 6th. One other note from Thursday's show. Yoshinari Ogawa and HAYATA are still the GHC Jr. Tag Team Champs. They fought off a challenge from Ikuto Hidaka and NOSAWA. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong is an “LA Dojo Showcase”. The main event is Karl Fredericks vs. Clark Connors. Also, Ren Narita & Fred Rosser vs. Kevin Knight & Alex Coghlin...and The DKC vs., TJP. Back in Japan, there was a New Japan show in Kagoshima on Thursday...with Kota Ibushi's first match since he lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Title to Will Ospreay. Ibushi tagged with Hiroshi Tanahashi...and beat Jeff Cobb and Aaron Henare. Ibushi pinned Henare. After the match, Ibushi challenged Cobb to a singles match. It appears that will happen at the Yokohama Stadium show on May 15th. Shinjiro Ohtani will miss his final two matches in All Japan's Champion Carnival tournament...due to a broken right arm. (STINGER: WWE) A well-known name on WWE's management team...Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano...has been fired, according to multiple reports Thursday night. Fightful reports that Carrano's firing is directly tied to a social media post by Mickie James, who revealed a package of her belongings shipped by WWE was packed in a garbage bag. James was among the wrestlers released by WWE earlier this week. John Laurinaitis, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon tweeted Thursday that a WWE employee had been FIRED over the incident. There were reports of a broader shakeup of personnel in the Talent Relations Department...even before Carrano's firing was reported. Also Thursday...WWE reported its revenues for the first quarter of 2021. $263.5 million dollars - down 9% compared to the first quarter of last year. During a conference call with investors Thursday...we learned WWE plans to remain in the ThunderDome through at least June. WWE does not expect to return to live touring until the second half of the year. WWE also announced a deal with Crunchyroll to develop a new anime series. As of Thursday night, we have basically NOTHING announced for tonight's SmackDown. NXT UK isn't big enough for Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan. On yesterday's show, the former tag team partners signed on for a No Disqualification / “Loser Leaves NXT UK” match. A date for that match has yet to be announced. Also on yesterday's show...Moustache Mountain - Tyler Bate & Trent Seven beat Noam Dar and Sha Samuels in the main event. Joe Coffey pinned Eddie Dennis...as the rest of Gallus brawled with Dennis' pals, Primate and T-Bone. Jinny beat Dani Luna...and Jinny and Joseph Conners wanted to continue the beating after the bell...but Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster ran out to save Luna. Sam Gradwell beat Dave Mastiff. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong has the final in the U.S. version of the New Japan Cup Tournament. It's Brody King vs. FILTHY Tom Lawlor. The winner will also be the first holder of the new Strong Openweight Championship. Also tonight, the New Japan debut of Wheeler Yuta. He's taking on Rocky Romero. Japan's prime minister is poised to declare a new state of emergency in Tokyo...and the western prefectures of Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo. This is in response to a spike in COVID-19 cases. Part of the order would reportedly include BANNING spectators from large events. This would begin Sunday and run through May 11th. It would not impact any shows on New Japan's Wrestling Dontaku tour...BUT New Japan does have shows at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall coming up on May 8th, 10th & 11th. Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show coming up next Thursday - but it's also being held outside the affected areas. (STINGER: AEW) Top Flight's Darius Martin tweeted that he underwent ACL surgery on Thursday. He's been out of action since February. (STINGER: Impact) A warning for Impact Champ Rich Swann before the big Title vs. Title Match against AEW Champ Kenny Omega...at Sunday's Rebellion pay per view. On last night's Impact, Swann tried to call out Omega. He had to settle for a video message from Omega and Don Callis. But that's not where things ended. Moose made an unexpected appearance in the Impact Zone. He wished Swann “good luck”...and then added this ultimatum. (Moose Warns Swann) That clip from last night's Impact. Jordynne Grace's mystery partner for Rebellion was revealed last night. It'll be Rachael Ellering teaming with Grace to challenge Fire n' Flava for the Knockouts Tag Titles. Eric Young rolled up Eddie Edwards to get the pin in last night's main event. Young wrestled the match with a torn ACL. Also last night, the Good Brothers beat Decay...and Shera beat Jake Something. Plus, LA Knight vs. Dexter Lumis...and a Championship Celebration for the new Cruiserweight Champ Kushida. Asuka pinned Charlotte Flair in the main event of last night's Raw. Flair got into a tussle with Raw Women's Champ Rhea Ripley after Ripley reached into the ring to break up the Figure Eight. That left Flair open for a crucifix pin by Asuka. Flair was REALLY upset after the match...and beat up the referee. The consequences for those actions were revealed on Raw Talk. (Woods Reports Charlotte Suspension) Xavier Woods delivering the news on last night's Raw Talk. WWE spent all weekend promoting a first-time-ever match between Randy Orton and Braun Strowman for last night's Raw - but that match never happened. Instead, we got Orton vs. Riddle...and it was Riddle getting the upset win - reversing the RKO into a rollup to get the pin. As for Strowman, he came out to rescue Drew McIntyre from a 2-on-1 handicap match against T-Bar and Mace. That led to a straight-up tag with Strowman teaming with McIntyre. And it ended with them unmasking T-Bar and Mace...who got the win via disqualification. Naomi and Lana beat the WWE Women's Tag Team Champs Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler in a non-title match. Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke got involved in this one...and basically taunted Jax until she left the ringside area. That left Baszler alone to take the pin. Damian Priest Hit The Lights and pinned The Miz. Elias pinned Kofi Kingston with an elbow off the top rope. Humberto Carrillo returned to Raw to confront the new U.S. Champion Sheamus...and got beaten down for his troubles. WWE Champ Bobby Lashley was NOT on the show. (STINGER: WWE) Next to nothing announced for tonight's SmackDown as of Thursday night. But WWE already has plenty of stuff announced for NEXT Friday - with that SmackDown being promoted as a special “WrestleMania Edition”. It'll include a 4-way for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles - Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode defending against Chad Gable & Otis...Rey & Dominik Mysterio...and the Street Profits. Also, this year's Andre The Giant Battle Royal will be on the show. 22 participants from the SmackDown and Raw rosters. The full list is out there. Pretty Deadly is still the NXT UK Tag Team Champions. The challengers fell apart. Kenny Williams turned on his partner Amir Jordan...after Jordan refused to use a tag belt Williams tossed him after the referee had been knocked out. Emilia McKenzie - not Millie anymore, apparently - returned to NXT UK. She confronted women's champ Kay Lee Ray. Isla Dawn then turned up to attack McKenzie. That drew out Meiko Satomura to even the odds...and together, she and McKenzie ran off KLR and Dawn. Those two sides will meet in a tag team match on the NXT UK: Prelude special NEXT Thursday. New NXT UK signee Stevie Turner - formerly known as Bobby Tyler in RevPro, Stardom and other promotions - made her debut on Thursday's episode. He was pinned by Aoife (EE-fo) Valkyrie. Former Divas and NXT Women's Champion Paige is still hoping for an in-ring return with WWE. (STINGER: WWE) Charlotte Flair revealed why she's been missing from WWE TV recently. She tweeted Monday night that she tested positive for COVID-19. Charlotte had challenged the Raw Women's Champion Asuka to a title match at WrestleMania...but Charlotte never got an answer. Last night, Rhea Ripley arrived on Raw...challenged Asuka...and Ripley got the title match at Mania. Ripley's challenge came after Asuka submitted Peyton Royce. More of the WrestleMania card is coming into focus. Randy Orton vs. The Fiend was made official...moments after Orton - who toted a can of gasoline to the ring to “summon” The Fiend - only to be taken down with a Sister Abigail. The Miz will face Bad Bunny one-on-one at Mania. Miz challenged Bad Bunny before he beat Jeff Hardy last night. After the match, Bad Bunny struck Miz from behind with a guitar...and accepted the challenge. Braun Strowman challenged Shane McMahon to a match at Mania...and Shane accepted, adding Braun can pick any match he wants. WWE also locked in SIX matches for Nights 1 and 2 Of Mania Night 1 Lashley vs Drew Banks vs Belair Miz vs Bad Bunny Night 2 Reigns vs Edge Asuka vs Ripley Orton vs. Fiend Last night's Raw was a tough one for The Hurt Business. Drew McIntyre beat Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin in a 2-on-1 match. As a result, they're banned from ringside for McIntyre's match against WWE Champ Bobby Lashley at Mania. Earlier, Alexander and Benjamin helped Lashley beat Sheamus in a non-title match. Lashley wasn't very happy about that. He was even more upset after they lost to McIntyre. So, Lashley went into the Raw locker room and offered “an opportunity” to anyone who takes out McIntyre. As for Sheamus, he was later interviewed backstage when Riddle interrupted. So, Sheamus attacked him with his own scooter. New details on when WWE's ThunderDome will need to move out of Tampa's Tropicana Field. Spectrum Sports 360's Jon Alba was first to report...WWE's time at the ballpark will end after a SmackDown taping on April 2nd. That likely means the final Raw and SmackDown episodes before WrestleMania will be pre-recorded. Alba added sources are telling him WWE is expected to keep the ThunderDome in the Tampa area - moving to the University of South Florida's Yeungling Center. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact Wrestling is promoting an appearance by AEW Champion Kenny Omega. Also, TJP gets a chance to win back the X-Division Championship he lost to Ace Austin. Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo is in a non-title match against Jazz...and Karl Anderson vs. Eddie Edwards. (STINGER: AEW) On last night's AEW Dark: Elevation…Ryo Mizunami used the Anaconda Vice to submit LEGIT Leyla Hirsch. Red Velvet and Big Swole beat Madi Wrenkowski and Leva Bates. After the match, the winners had a staredown with the trio of Nyle Rose, Vickie Guerrero...and Jade Cargill! Orange Cassidy used the Mouse Trap to pin Ryan Nemeth. After the match, Nemeth attacked Cassidy. Chuck Taylor ran off Nemeth...only to be attacked himself by JD Drake! Also last night, Danny Limelight submitted Baron Black. NWA Powerrr returns tonight. If you want to watch, you'll need to go through FITE TV, where the shows are part of a new subscription bundle. (STINGER: ROH) This past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV, the final stop before the 19th Anniversary pay per view on Friday. La Faccion Ingobernable beat The Foundation in the main event - an 8-man tag that ended with Bestia Del Ring pinning HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams. Also on the show, Eli Isom scored an upset pinfall on Rey Horus. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan announced the cards for its Road To Sakura Genesis tour...and the big show itself on April 4th. On top of Kota Ibushi defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Will Ospreay...There will be a Junior Tag Title match - El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru defending against Roppongi 3K - SHO and YOH, who just returned from a torn ACL. The GHC National Title changed hands in Pro-Wrestling NOAH on Sunday. Kazuyuki Fujita dethroned Kenoh. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, March 23. On Wednesday's Dynamite, Paul Wight described the person as "Hall of Fame worthy" and a “huge surprise”. Tony Khan is not backing away from the growing hype surrounding who's showing up at Sunday's Revolution pay per view. (Khan Revolution Surprise) That clip from the AEW Unrestricted podcast. CM Punk was asked about this during a Twitter Q&A on Thursday...and said he is NOT the surprise signing. Khan did describe the person as a “he” during the podcast. Khan also said the “huge surprise” is different from the 6th entrant in a ladder match for a TNT Title shot, who will be revealed during Sunday's show. That the TNT Title match is set to happen on Wednesday's Dynamite. One more note from that podcast. Khan mentioned Anthony Bowens from The Acclaimed is out of action with a knee injury. (STINGER: WWE) SmackDown Women's Champ Sasha Banks and her WrestleMania challenger Bianca Belair will get another shot at the Women's Tag Titles. WWE announced Thursday that Banks and Belair will challenge Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax at Fastlane. Tonight's SmackDown main event has Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso inside a STEEL CAGE. She beat Meiko Satomura on Thursday's show. (STINGER: ROH) A high stakes match on this weekend's Ring Of Honor TV. Jay Briscoe vs. Matt Taven vs. Jay Lethal vs. EC3 in a Four Corner Survival Match. The winner gets the shot at Rush and the ROH World Championship at 19th Anniversary pay per view on March 26. Also this weekend, a Pure Rules rematch between Josh Woods and Dalton Castle. Dragon Lee beat Brian Johnson to retain the ROH TV Title. The match was shown earlier this week on ROH's The Experience Facebook group and YouTube channel. (STINGER: New Japan) The first “official” New Japan Cup show is being held this morning. Saturday's show has THREE first round matches - Kazuchika Okada vs. Shingo Takagi...KENTA vs. Juice Robinson...and Tomoaki Honma vs. Minoru Suzuki. TWO Cup matches were held at Thursday's Anniversary Show. Great-O-Khan BEAT Tetsuya Naito via referee stoppage...and Jeff Cobb beat Satoshi Kojima. Kota Ibushi beat El Desperado in the main event - his final defense of the “double gold” as they will now be merged into the new IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. New Japan announced two stadium shows coming up in May - at Yokohama Stadium on May 15th...and in Tokyo Dome on May 29th. Tonight's New Japan Strong has a pair of qualifying matches for the U.S. version of the New Japan Cup tournament - Rocky Romero vs. Lio Rush...and FILTHY Tom Lawlor vs. The DKC. Results from Thursday's NXT UK are straight ahead in this update but first… Funeral services will be held today for Tom Cole - the key accuser in the WWF “ring boy scandal” during the 1990's. Cole took his own life last Friday, according to his brother. Cole's accusations led to the resignations of WWF ring announcer Mel Phillips...and company executives Terry Garvin and Pat Patterson. Patterson was rehired a short time later. Tom Cole was 50 years old. He leaves behind a wife, three daughters...and other loved ones - including his brother who has been very vocal in his criticism of WWE. ... WWE quietly shared an update Thursday on ticket sales for WrestleMania. Don't get your wallets out just yet. WWE said it will announce ticket availability and safety protocols for the big show at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium in the coming weeks. WWE said it's coordinating with local partners and government officials regarding COVID-19 precautions. WWE also promising information on WrestleMania week events “is forthcoming”. Tonight's SmackDown is the final stop before Sunday's Elimination Chamber show. Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro will face Jey Uso, King Corbin and Sami Zayn. Those same six men will be in the SmackDown Chamber match on Sunday - with the winner getting a title shot against Universal Champ Roman Reigns later that same night. NXT UK results from Thursday: Joe Coffey defeated by Rampage Brown, who remains undefeated on NXT UK. The two shared a handshake of mutual respect after the match. Also, A-Kid successfully defended the Heritage Cup Championship against Sha Samuels. The date is set for the inevitable clash between NXT UK Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray and Mieko Satomura. The title is on the line when those two meet in two weeks - on Thursday, March 4th. Kyle O'Reilly took to social media Thursday...just hours after misinformation from live fans at Wednesday's NXT gave a scare to fans at home and even some other wrestlers. Kyle thanked “everyone for checking in”...and said their “love and support truly means the World.” (STINGER: ROH) A title match on this weekend's Ring Of Honor TV. Shane Taylor and the Soldiers of Savagery get their shot at the 6-man tag titles held by Bandido, Rey Horus and Flamita. NEXT weekend...Taylor gets his shot at Rush and the ROH World Championship. Getting back to this weekend's ROH TV - we'll also see The Briscoes vs. Dragon Lee and Kenny King...and Mike Bennett vs. Bateman. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling announced Thursday that its next Impact Plus exclusive show will be Sacrifice on Saturday, March 13th. Meanwhile, Heath says he will undergo surgery for a sports hernia on March 1st. Heath has been out of action since last October. On the Raw side of things, Goldberg has a message for the “haters” out there...as he gets ready for his Universal Title match against Drew McIntyre at the Rumble. (Goldberg On The Haters) Goldberg speaking with Ryan Satin for Fox Sports. Meiko Satomura is back on WWE TV...in NXT UK. A promo video aired on Thursday's show, and Satomura made it clear she's coming for Kay Lee Ray's UK women's championship. Pretty Deadly - Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley - are the new #1 contenders for the NXT UK tag titles. They won a 4-way elimination match - with some help from Eddie Dennis, who was supposed to be banned from ringside. Also, Trent Seven said he plans to drop some weight and challenge for Jordan Devlin's cruiserweight title. Shelley said it's due to tighter COVID-19 restrictions at his OTHER job as a physical therapy clinician. He said he won't return to Impact until he's vaccinated. I thought that referee on Wednesday's MLW Fusion looked familiar. It was disgraced former NBA ref Tim Donaghy, making his first appearance in a pro wrestling ring. Donaghy cost Savio Vega the Carribean Heavyweight Championship by blocking Vega's path to victory in a Carribean Strap Match against Richard Holliday. Donaghy served time in federal prison for his role in a gambling scandal in which he conspired to FIX NBA games. I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, January 19, 2021. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Monday Night's Raw and Ring Of Honor's weekend TV are straight ahead in this update but first… WWE Champion Drew McIntyre announcing Monday he'll be back on Raw NEXT Monday night. McIntyre is quarantining after he tested positive for COVID-19. WWE also promoting Goldberg for next Monday - the final Raw before the Royal Rumble, where Goldberg will challenge McIntyre for the WWE title. Newly declared entrants for the Royal Rumble matches: Jeff Hardy, Peyton Royce and Alexa Bliss. Speaking of Bliss...she scored a BIG win in the main event of last night's Raw - pinning the Raw Women's Champion Asuka. It was a non-title match. Alexa seemingly transformed mid-match into a more evil version of herself...absorbed some powerful strikes from Asuka...and then hit Sister Abigail for the win. As for Randy Orton - one week after Bliss blasted him with a fireball to the face... Orton appeared backstage in a dark room, wearing a mask, at the start of Raw. AJ Styles beat Ricochet after an eye-popping reversal into a Styles Clash. Ricochet was hoping to prove that he deserves a spot in the Royal Rumble. Shayna Baszler tapped out Mandy Rose. Shayna and Nia Jax are NOT getting along. The Hurt Business beat Riddle and the Lucha House Party. Cedrix Alexander and Shelton Benjamin are NOT getting along either. Tonight's 205 Live will feature TWO first round matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. In two weeks there will be a #1 Contenders match for the NXT UK tag titles - Pretty Deadly vs. Mandrews & Flash Morgan Webster vs. The Hunt vs. Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter. One more note from WWE - The Miz is the latest entrant announced for the men's Royal Rumble match. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling announcing a match for its FREE pre-show ahead of Saturday night's Hard To Kill pay per view. It'll be Josh Alexander taking on Brian Myers A big match on the main card for Hard to Kill - the finals of the Knockouts Tag Title tournament - Nevaeh and Havok facing Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz, who explained why this match is so important to her. (Steelz KO Tag Tourney) That clip from a match watch-along with both teams on Impact's social media. (STINGER: New Japan) Bullet Club original Tama Tonga not pulling many punches as he responded to the “reunion” of Kenny Omega, the Good Brothers and the Young Bucks. (Tama On Elite) That clip from the new episode of the Tama's Island podcast. Tama also crushed any speculation that he may turn up in AEW or Impact TV. He was a little more cagey when asked about Jay White's current status...Tama called White's post Wrestle Kingdom comments a “red flag”. Tonight's New Japan Strong will see KENTA in a 6-man tag, alongside fellow Bullet Club members El Phantasmo and Hikuleo. They'll face the team of Fred Rosser, Blake Christian & ACH.
