In this call in, Stefan engages with a caller who shares his experiences of childhood emotional neglect and the resulting challenges in forming relationships as an adult. The caller reflects on his early education, attending high school at 12, which led to feelings of isolation. He discusses a turbulent family dynamic, marked by a dominant mother and a submissive father, which shaped his approach to conflict and relationships. As they explore his struggles with self-confidence and romantic pursuits, Stefan guides the conversation towards recognizing how these patterns mirror his parents' dysfunctional relationship. The caller confronts the deep-seated feelings of inadequacy stemming from his upbringing, expressing a desire to break free from these toxic dynamics. The discussion highlights the impact of familial relationships on personal development and the importance of acknowledging these influences to foster healthier interactions moving forward.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free! Also get the Truth About the French Revolution, the interactive multi-lingual philosophy AI trained on thousands of hours of my material, private livestreams, premium call in shows, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2022
Annie is worried her kid has no friends and wonders if this is something she'll grow out of or if this could be a problem in the future.
The animal kingdom was prominently featured today with way too much time spent on rat mating and then allllll of the bad things your dog has eaten. What an AMAZING LIST. In Group Therapy, Annie is worried her 4-year-old never seems to be playing with any kids at daycare. Is that something to worry about? And TBT definitely had a sexy theme thanks to Dr. Erin's birthday and Diana's surprise third pregnancy! GIGGITY
The best clip in The Last Dance Documentary in my opinion, Michael Jordan says if you don't wanna play that way then don't play that way. On the verge of tears he says Break. Its a deep look into a man who was a leader and winner. Did he make friends out of teammates? Sure. Did most despise him? Yes Did they win and benefit from it? Absolutely People, if you want to win in business or life, you can't always be the good guy or just another face in the crowd. Be a leader. Guide yourself or team to a championship. Most supporters of Palestine tend to view the issue in nationalist terms, as a struggle with the Palestinians and the broader Arab world on one side, and the Israeli state and its western allies on the other. Yet any serious look at the situation today, or at the history of the 20th century for that matter, shows that the Arab states have done nothing to seriously challenge Zionism or its Western backers. On Accent of Women today, we conclude our broadcast of a talk by Socialist and activist, Bella Beiraghi that explores some of this history, and explains why Arab elites are not simply unreliable allies, but are actually complicit in the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.
It's another Lonely Guy Friday edition of Regular Guy Friday - and a snowy one at that! Why the perfectionist has few friends . Why perfection is not conducive to creativity, only to replication. In this moment, world-renowned author, entrepreneur, and optimist Simon Sinek discusses the importance of maintaining meaningful friendships throughout your life. For Simon, strong friendships are essential because they provide a support system during tough times. He also says it is important for friendships to offer companionship during moments of joy and success. According to Simon, there are several health benefits of close relationships, highlighting that in Blue Zones - regions where people live past 80 years old - a sense of community is key. From an evolutionary standpoint, our bodies seem to be designed to foster connection. He points out that the heart is our most vital organ, and that thigh muscles helped us socialise with others in our communities. Simon highlights that friendships should be approached with intention, and that one of the best ways to nurture your friendships is by supporting others, particularly through acts of service. Send us a textToday, we're going to be talking about how to help our tweens and teens who are struggling with friendships, and this is really painful as a mom. If you have a kid who is lonely and is struggling with girl drama, it might look a little bit different if you have a boy, but they have their version of that. If they're spending a lot of time isolated and alone in their room, they're not connecting outside of social media. Maybe they've even been bullied or excluded from friend groups, and they can see that on social media, and then it can be so complicated when they have social media and all that goes with that. When it comes to friendships, it can just complicate things, and they can compare themselves. It can be really rough, and it can be difficult to know what to say and what to do that's going to help. And I hear from so many of you emailing me that you're saying, "Gosh, my kid is getting left out. They're lonely. They're spending all their time gaming, or they're coming home and crying every day because their best friend won't let them sit at the lunch table." It takes on many different forms, and my special guest today is Sheri Gazitt, the CEO and founder of Teen Wise. It is an organization that empowers teen girls to conquer girl drama and establish healthy friendships. And she does private coaching. They have online courses, presentations, and professional trainings. She has been on the podcast before, and she has so much wisdom and insight and a really beautiful way of taking it all and making it really simple and easy to understand. And in this episode, she talks to us about what we can do to help our kids. So let's dive in!What you will learn: The significant impact of friendships on our tweens' and teens' lives, specifically how social struggles can lead to clinical depression and anxiety. The visible change in teens' body language and spark when they see a path forward in their social lives.Research on how patterns of popularity and bullying in middle and high school can persist into adulthood.Impact of the pandemic on teen friendships and their social skills. In this episode collaboration with Sadie from the Sadie Has No Friends podcast, we dive deep into one of the strangest love stories (if you can call it that) in true crime history. Meet Carl Tanzler, a man who took “till death do us part” a little too literally. Picture this: a German-born radiologist falls madly in love with a beautiful, young tuberculosis patient in the 1930s. Romantic, right? Except for the small detail that after her untimely death, Carl decides that their love story isn't over. Nope, he wasn't letting a pesky thing like mortality stop him. What follows is a bizarre tale of obsession, devotion, and...well, we'll just say extreme preservation efforts. Is it love? Is it madness? Or just a case of Carl not knowing when to let go (seriously, dude)? Join us as we unravel the twisted and morbidly fascinating case of Carl Tanzler, a man whose love truly knew no bounds—even the grave wasn't enough.Tune in, but maybe don't eat while listening to this one. Anthony Lima and Jason Lloyd talk about the statements each made by Donovan Mitchell and Jaylen Brown before the Cleveland Cavaliers' East semifinal face-off with the top-seeded Boston Celtics.
We left the Ray Devito and Kevin Brennan stuff alone for a day or two, but the pink hot dog man cannot let it go. He's like a scorned rich teen girl with no friends who got dumped and now has to pay less popular kids to listen to her complain about the one that got away. Ray Devito keeps letting people convince him of almost anything, causing him to constantly waver on his commitment to Hackamania. Liam backs out of Hackamania to stick it to Patrick, even though no one knows who he is or why he was coming in the first place. The Steel Toe Morning Show has had some weird behavior this week, and you know Patrick has some thoughts about it. Is April Imholte on some sort of drugs? What's going on in that house? Is Aaron Imholte using his kids as an excuse? Is Ashley Larue tattling on her ex-husband? ...

The truth about big friend groups and why I think the best people have less friends. In today's episode, I talk about the misconception that people with little to no friends are bad and don't know how to maintain healthy friendships. I strongly believe a big reason why people struggle to maintain friendships is because they don't allow their friends to walk all over them. These people would rather stick up for themselves and risk losing those friends than stay in friendships with people who don't respect them. I also talk about my experience in and out of a large friend group and why I think these types of friendships can bring out the worst in people.
