This week, we're joined by one of the English voices of AAA Lucha Libre, Larry Dallas. Larry will be calling Triplemania XXII this year. The second leg of Triplemania will be held in Tijuana on June 15. The first leg happened April 27 in Monterrey and the final leg will be August 17 in Mexico City. Larry discusses the challenge of calling a Lucha Libre show for an English-speaking audience and some of the ups and downs. He also discusses the career of Vampiro and the relevance of his retirement tour in AAA, as well as the many crossover talents from other promotions that will be appearing at Triplemania.
Here is episode 92 of the Pro Wrestling Spotlight Podcast, covering John's final two shows at 1440 AM WNYG in Babylon NY. Two shows are reviewed here - including the November 6th program and the final show on November 27th, 1993. John and Marsh do a deep dive on the reasons John decides to leave the airwaves. Donny Laible also makes a surprise appearance and tells a horrific story on why he left wrestling! The last Weekend of Champions convention is covered, as well as the the Sid Vicious / Arn Anderson scissors incident, which happened that week - with Sid stabbing Arn at a hotel. After being released from his WWE contract, the man known as "The Man Of The Hour" seemed to drop off the face of the earth. For someone who was a constant presence on social media, especially Instagram, where he would interact, sometimes insultingly, with the fans who would ask to join in his videos. After what seemed to be an eternity away from not only social media, but wrestling itself, the man known as Lio Rush has returned, and it seems like this is not a temporary return. In other news, how much does Vince pay attention to AEW? Quite a bit, it seems. AAA ended their popular AutoLuchas series this past Sunday with matches that might point to the planned December Triplemania. WWE has filed for two new names while dropping one rather well known name. We have information regarding the current situation with AEW star PAC. New Japan has a major card slated for this weekend which could, once again, shift the balance of power within the company. Steve and Lee will cover these and other stories this week.

Vince McMahon is known to change entire shows hours before they are supposed to air live, one of those changes may cause a change in the Women's Elimination Chamber match, which now is the only one that counts since Vince already put Roman Reigns against Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. In regards to WrestleMania, there was an announced change to Axxess concerning a scheduled appearance. I'll tell you who and my thoughts as to why. AAA airs live on Twitch Saturday but there will be a time change there as well. We are slightly over a week out from both Super Showdown and Revolution. RAW focused on WrestleMania while Dynamite closed with AEW's first cage match leading up to the Cody Rhodes Vs. MJF confrontation. Meanwhile, in Japan, the coronavirus is having an effect on the business. Former NXT UK star and Mae Young Classic standout Jazzy Gabert has started a new venture. An indie wrestler from Texas made her AEW debut and a former Impact star returned to AEW. Game Changer Wrestling is continung to build out to WrestleMania week with additions announced for both Josh Barnett's Blood sport and Joey Janela's Spring Break cards. AAA returns to action this Saturday night with a live event that will be broadcast in English and Spanish on Twitch. We will discuss all of these stories and possibly have some surprises. You'll have to liten to find out.
Slightly over two weeks ago Andrade was suspended for violating the WWE Wellness Policy, but did he really violate it? On TNT On BTR we discussed the situation and a report coming from our good friend Hugo Savinovich about the situation. Earlier today I had a long phone conversation with Hugo. He relayed a lot of information to me, some of which I am free to share with you on this episode. Once you hear this your opinion toward the Wellness Policy may very well change. This is not going to be a pretty conversation, but it is a necessary one. Now I don't plan to be all serious or down, so if there is time I will discuss Saturday night's AAA card which will be broadcast live on Twitch as well as a BIG rumor concerning a current WWE star.

Well, WWE 2K20 has proved to be a technical bust, so WWE is going back to another idea that did woek. While WWE fans are waiting for the in ring return of Ronda Rousey they have something else fans of the UFC Hall Of Fame member can look forward to. We now have a buy rate, at least partially, for Full Gear and it does look good. Cody Rhodes issued a statement on social media regarding his loss in the championship match at Full Gear. We also know about the situation concerning AEW's won/loss records. We talked previously about Kenny Omega's issues with entering Japan recently, New Japan has issued a statement regarding some charges regarding them and Omega's entry issues. Both CMLL & AAA have loaded schedules over the next week, including Twitch and Facebook Live events. This should be a fun evening, we hope you enjoy it.
Last night on Wrestling Authority Radio our friend Hugo Savinovich talked about the behind the scenes issues and frightened WWE staff during the grounding of the charter plane that was supposed to take them back from Saudi Arabia. Tonight Steve looks further into the situation, including the meeting that took place before RAW on Monday night. Meanwhile, at AEW, last minute preparations are going on behind the scenes for Saturday's Full Gear pay per view, while in Mexico at the same time AAA will be doing a show which will air for free on their English and Spanish feeds. Puerto Rican star Savio Vega is making claims concerning the status of members of the legendary Colon family. All of these stories and MORE will be covered TONIGHT.
Once again we open the lines to the independent wrestling scene, namely in the Chicago suburbs. A few weeks ago we had our long time friend PL Myers and several members of the POWW roster on to talk about WrestleRage. Well the countdown clock is ticking down with arund 72 hours left before their annual big event. PL joins us again tonight and he is scheduled to be joined by Joey Roth, ICONS Of The Illinois Valley manager C. Red and Cognito Jones. As always, live guests are subject to change due to outside situtaions, but PL will most definately be there. Our second hour will focus on the still controversial situation regarding the grounded WWE charter plane that occurred after the latest Crown Jewel event, forcing WWE to have NXT talent "invade" Friday SmackDown last week. Well a few days later our good friend Hugo Savinovich, who still maintains contacts in WWE in addition to his work with AAA Lucha Libre and other companies, broke a story that stated that it was NOT "mechanical problems" that grounded the plane. We will talk to Hugo about the accusations against many people involved in the flight, as well as communications that are coming out from talent who were directly affected, as well as the talent meeting that was said to have occurred Monday night before RAW. Tonight will be loaded of fun and controversy, so strap in, because just like a plane going into turbulance, this is going to be a bumpy ride..
Saturday and Sunday provided two major wrestling events, Impact Wrestling's "Bound For Glory" and AAA Lucha Libre's "Heroes Imortales XIII". Both shows had some big surprises, one of which was announced after the event, and while we will discuss BFG on our own we will bring in some top notch help to talk about HI, with our good friend AAA commentator Hugo Savinovich. A lot of things occurred in the Twitterverse, with Seth Rollins once again jumping on the keyboard to attack AEW talent, Randy Orton making a tease as the details of the end point of his contract come into focus and in an "Is it a work or is it a shoot?" moment Sonya DeVille and Lacey Evans tear into one another viciously. WWE 2K20 has also been trending on Twitter, but not for good reasons. In fact, refunds are already being offered to some buyers and a WWE Hall Of Fame member has taken to Twitter to promise to make things right for fans. The WWE On Fox account also took some heat in the past week for a now deleted tweet that seemed to chide WWE fans for one of their favorite passtimes during a WWE TV broadcast. Impact has made an offer to two AEW executives, we'll tell you who they approached and what the offer is for. All of these things and MORE - TONIGHT!
Leave it for the week that Steve returns from taking care of his wife pre and post surgery for the controversies to once again explode in the wrestling business. First, a controversy that dates back to Triplemania concerning Cody Rhodes and a chant that occurred during his match. Then, over in England, a referee got assaulted after a match. This is a big mess and as a former referee, Steve is none too happy about it and is going to let loose about it. Warning, names WILL be named and feelings WILL NOT be spared! U.S. politics has raised its head in the wrestling business, at least as far as AAA Lucha Libre is concerned. Ric Flair has apparantly inked a new promotional deal with a major company at the same time he and WWE are at odds, and the situation has caused an effect on his family. From there AEW takes its turn in the controversy spotlight as a former 80s female talent is coming out against one of the women who is getting a push by the company. Add to that WWE planning to make changes to the network and you have a night of it. That doesn't even count the GoFundMe set up for an Illinois based VERY imfamous person whom we have talked about many times on this show. Obviousy we will try and cover tonight's go home editions of RAW and SmackDown Live prior to this Sunday's Clash Of Champions pay per view. Last night the anticipated announcement of NXT moving to USA Network was announced. Now what does that mean for the future of what has become the flagship wrestling show on WWE Network? We have that information along with what will happen to their wildly popular TakeOver events. Information has also come out on how much USA is paying for the popular franchise. AAA Lucha Libre, which is making its New York debut was recently shifted into a smaller arena in the Madison Square Garden complex. Why did the move happen and what is the feeling within the company regarding the move? Well we got a very definative answer from our good friend, AAA & AEW Spanish commentator Hugo Savinovich, and once again, Hugo gives us a clue into the mindset of Marisalla Pena, and it's very interesting. In regards to AEW, with a little over a week before their highly anticipated ALL OUT event, Brandi Rhodes cut probably one of the most killer promos wrestling has seen or heard in a long time. If you haven't seen or heard it, we have it for you tonight. Meanwhile AEW continues to sell out and the next two TV locations were announced this week and they are two very diverse locations. AEW & NJPW talent Jon Moxley has been making the rounds, including unmasking another AEW talent this past weekend at an independent show. We also know now how long his New Japan contract is good for which could give us an idea of how long he'll hold the NJPW US title. Speaking of contracts, two WWE stars, one of whom is a friend of Steve's, just put out the time frame remaining on their contracts. Were they crying for help or signaling to other organiztions that they are looking to move? We'll discuss that as well.
