AEW Dynamite 4/5/23 full show review with JDfromNY. JDfromNY reviews AEW Dynamite for April 5th, 2023. It's MJF Day on Long Island, New York. The special day dedicated to the reigning AEW World Champion coincides with MJF receiving the key to Oyster Bay, New York, for his charitable endeavors outside of the ring. MJF has revealed some interesting rules for the celebration, including "If you see MJF, you have to admit he's better than you and you know it, then hand him 50 bucks." Meanwhile, Tony Khan will disclose some big news on tonight's show. AEW's CEO indicated this week that he is set to deliver one of the "most important announcements ever in AEW."  Regarding this evening's in-ring action, four championship matches are penciled in, including a titles vs. AEW careers match between reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions Austin and Colten Gunn and FTR's Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. Additionally, Jamie Hayter will defend the AEW Women's World Championship against Riho, The Firm's Ethan Page will challenge HOOK for the FTW Championship, and House of Black's Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King will seek to retain the AEW World Trios Championship when they step into the ring with current AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy and Best Friends' Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor.  In addition to those title matches, Sammy Guevara is set to take on Komander, and Juice Robinson will go one-on-one with Ricky Starks. Elsewhere, Blackpool Combat Club's ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Wheeler Yuta will speak after "The American Dragon" returned last week and took out Kenny Omega following his successful defense of the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Cobb. AEW Dynamite 3/22/23 review with JDfromNY. Tonight on AEW Dynamite for March 22nd, 2023 wrestling sensation El Hijo del Vikingo makes his highly anticipated All Elite Wrestling in-ring debut. In a dream match set up by Tony Khan that is 2 years in the making, the current AAA Mega Champion will face off against former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. Originally slated to meet at Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide's TripleMania Regia event, the match had to be postponed due to injuries sustained by Omega. But now, these two incredible performers will finally lock horns on a major platform in what promises to be an epic showdown. Also, The AEW World Tag Team Championship will also be up for grabs as reigning champs Austin and Colten Gunn take on Top Flight's Darius and Dante Martin. Meanwhile, the women's division will see a clash between The Outcasts' Toni Storm and up-and-comer Skye Blue, who's looking to make a name for herself by standing up to Storm and her cohorts. And in a battle between two heavy hitters, Jon Moxley will face off against Stu Grayson of the Dark Order. That was officially announced a few hours before last night's Dynamite, where Danielson beat another Dark Order member, Alan “5” Angels. A fiery finish to last night's main event. Cody Rhodes took Andrade El Idolo off the top rope with an inverted suplex...and through a flaming table - lit moments earlier by Brandi Rhodes. Cody was still on fire as he covered Andrade for the pin and the win in their Atlanta Street Fight. Also last night…Ruby Soho reversed the Big Bang Theory into a rollup and pinned Kris Statlander to advance to the semifinals of the TBS Championship Tournament. Darby Allin & Sting ended the undefeated tag team run of the Gunn Club. Colten Gunn took the pin. Plus, CM Punk beat Lee Moriarty... The winner there will get a shot at the AEW Women's Title. The Lucha Brothers beat the Varsity Blonds last night. That means Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero Miedo will face Jurassic Express on Friday night's Rampage...with the winner getting an AEW Tag Title shot against the Young Bucks inside a Steel Cage at All Out. Darby Allin set to face CM Punk at All Out...but it appears he also has some unfinished business with Daniel Garcia. Garcia attacked Allin after Allin, Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston beat The Wingmen last night. Speaking of CM Punk, In the midst of his first appearance on Dynamite, Punk hinted at who could be the next big name to join AEW. (Punk First Dynamite) That clip from last night's Dynamite. Cash Wheeler returned to AEW TV for the first time since he suffered a gruesome, bloody injury to his right arm weeks ago. He appeared alongside Dax Harwood in a backstage segment. QT Marshall hit a major pothole on the way to his match at All Out against Paul Wight.
