Following WWE Backlash 2005 where Batista defeated Triple H to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Eric Bischoff made a new tournament to crown a number one contender for the title. This is the Gold Rush Tournament. It was a mystery on who was facing. One wrestler would make their entrance and then find out who they were facing right in that ring. This features one of the best superkicks of all time by Shawn Michaels. It is the one where Shelton Benjamin does a springboard and eats a Sweet Chin Music right to the jaw. It really is something you have to see. The tournament also features Kane vs Christian, Edge vs Jericho, and Triple H vs Chris Benoit. Plus, fallout from backlash where Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels teamed for the very first time against Muhammad Hassan and Daivari!⦁ Deadlock Discord: https://discord.gg/E4BvR4W⦁ Deadlock Shop: https://shop.deadlockpw.com⦁ Deadlock Patreon: https://patreon.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Twitter: https://twitter.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Instagram: https://instagram.com/deadlockwrestling⦁ Deadlock Reddit: https://reddit.com/r/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Pro Wrestling: http://deadlockpro.com

Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, August 13, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: AEW) THREE title matches are set for tonight's premiere of AEW's new weekly series Rampage. Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Championship against Christian Cage - the same man who will challenge Omega for the AEW Championship at All Out next month. Also tonight...Dr. Britt Baker defends the AEW Women's Championship against Red Velvet… And Miro puts the TNT Championship on the line against Fuego Del Sol. If Fuego wins, he doesn't just get the gold...he gets an AEW contract. Rampage airs tonight at 10PM Eastern on TNT. (STINGER: Impact) Whoever holds the Impact World Championship after tonight will defend it against Brian Myers…at the Impact Plus exclusive show Emergence...on Friday, August 20th. Myers earned the shot by winning a 20-man battle royal on last night's Impact. He dumped both Moose and Chris Sabin as they were battling one another to secure the victory. It was made very clear during the broadcast that Myers could challenge either Omega or Christian. In fact, Christian Cage himself appeared during the show in an interview with AEW's Alex Marvez. Another new match added to Emergence: Steve Maclin vs. Petey Williams. There was a pretty big upset last night. John Skyler pinned Matt Cardona...thanks in part to an outside distraction by Rohit Raju. Tenille Dashwood pinned Taylor Wilde after interference by Madison Rayne...the same Madison Rayne who announced her retirement back in January. Rayne and Dashwood embraced after the match. X-Division Champ Josh Alexander beat Daivari in a non-title match. FinJuice got a DQ win over Jay White & Chris Bey...after White blatantly attacked David Finlay and Juice Robinson with a steel chair. White is set to defend his NEVER Openweight Title against Finlay at Saturday night's New Japan Resurgence show in Los Angeles. Su Yung is BACK. She and a newly “undead” version of Kimber Lee attacked Kiera Hogan...who was dragged backstage by her hair. (STINGER: WWE) Keith Lee discussed the health issues that caused him to miss months of action. In a video posted Thursday, Lee went through his year...from contracting COVID-19 in January...to doctors later finding inflammation in his heart. Lee said he had to cease almost all physical activity while doctors decided what to do next. (Lee Heart Inflammation) That clip from that video Lee posted on Thursday. Lee said he's healthy now. He returned to Raw last month. As of Thursday night there are no matches announced for tonight's SmackDown...but we're being promised an appearance by John Cena for a face-to-face confrontation with Roman Reigns. 205 Live enters a new era tonight - a week after its roster lost a number of regulars to the latest round of cuts. A preview on WWE.com says the brand “will now occasionally play host to matches where one or multiple Superstars eclipse the 205-pound weight limit”. That's the reasoning for tonight's match between Joe Gacy and Josh Briggs. There's also a match between two true cruiserweights - Ikemen Jiro vs. Grayson Waller. On Thursday's NXT UK… Noam Dar beat Mark Andrews 2 falls to 1...in the first round of the Heritage Cup #1 Contender tournament. Also, Wolfgang beat Flash Morgan Webster...and Amale beat Nina Samuels. There will be TWO title matches on next week's show. Meiko Satomura defends her UK Women's Championship against Stevie Turner...and Pretty Deadly put their tag titles on the line against Moustache Mountain. NXT's Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano announced Thursday that they are expecting their first child. The Great Muta has been pulled from Sunday's Pro-Wrestling NOAH show...due to Muta possibly coming into contact with someone who has COVID-19. NOAH calls the move “precautionary” Nosawa Rongai will take Muta's place on the show - tagging with GHC Heavyweight Champ Naomichi Marufuji against HAYATA and Ogawa Yoshinari. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong has a tag team main event: The STRONG Openweight Champion FILTHY Tom Lawlor & Danny Limelight vs. Lio Rush & Karl Fredericks. Also on tonight's show...Hikuleo vs. Fred Yehi...and Wheeler YUTA vs. Barrett Brown. More names announced for the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. Masha Slamovich will be in the Invitational Cup battle royal. And the second team in the NWA Women's Tag Team Championship tournament is Renee Michelle & Sahara 7. Finally, some sad news: Former WWF Tag Team Champion Dominic DeNucci has passed away at the age of 89. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, August 13. (STINGER: AEW) The AEW Championship match is set for All Out. It'll be Kenny Omega defending against...Christian Cage. The match was announced during last night's Dynamite, but that's not all. Kenny and Christian will also meet on the debut episode of Rampage on Friday night...with Omega's Impact World Championship on the line. Impact executive Scott D'Amore appeared on last night's Dynamite...and sat in on commentary during the Good Brothers' successful Impact Tag Title defense over Evil Uno & Stu Grayson. Another match announced for All Out during last night's Dynamite: Pac vs. Andrade El Idolo. Chris Jericho will get his match against MJF. Jericho got past Wardlow in the main event of last night's Dynamite. The referee caught MJF trying to slip his Dynamite Diamond Ring to Wardlow. And while throwing out MJF, Jericho hit Wardlow with his bat behind the ref's back...delivered the Judas Effect and got the pin. The showdown between Jericho and MJF will happen on NEXT Wednesday's Dynamite. MJF declared that the Judas Effect will be banned...and also, “Judas” will not be played during Jericho's entrance. Also on last night's Dynamite...Darby Allin pinned Daniel Garcia with the Coffin Drop. Garcia dominated much of the match. Matt Hardy & Private Party beat Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Wheeler Yuta. Hardy pinned Yuta after a Twist Of Fate. Nyla Rose ran out to take down Kris Statlander during the match, but Statlander later got her revenge. She pinned Rose with a 450 Splash. An in-ring interview by Tony Schiavone with QT Marshall led to Marshall and The Factory attacking Schivaone's son...and that led to Paul Wight storming out to hit a chokeslam on Aaron Solo. A promoted appearance by Dan Lambert did NOT happen on last night's Dynamite. Tony Khan told Busted Open Radio it was pushed back a week...and will now happen on next Wednesday's Dynamite. Khan also mentioned that Lambert is bringing along “two great UFC champions.” Former Impact Knockouts Tag Champ Kiera Hogan wrestled a match for AEW Dark: Elevation before last night's Dynamite went on air. Also, Anthony Bowens wrestled a singles match for Elevation. Max Caster was NOT in his corner and did NOT appear at all during the show. The new AEW Tag Team Rankings unveiled Wednesday did NOT include The Acclaimed among the top 5 title contenders. All this follows backlash over Caster's pre-match rap on last week's episode of AEW Dark. CM Punk was asked point-blank if he will be at the United Center when AEW Rampage emanates from that arena on August 20th. (Punk Rampage Date Plans) That's Punk speaking with Jason Agnew on the Saturday Night's Main Event radio show in Canada. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact Wrestling has a Battle Royale, where the winner gets a shot at the Impact World Championship on next Friday's Emergence show. Also tonight, Jay White & Chris Bey vs. FinJuice...X-Division Champ Josh Alexander vs. Daivari in a non-title match...and Tenille Dashwood vs. Taylor Wilde. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor has found a new home for its Death Before Dishonor pay per view. It'll be held at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena on Sunday, September 12th. ROH pulled the show out of its original site in Lakeland, Florida due to concerns about a surge in COVID-19 cases in that state. Also on Wednesday, ROH announced Josh Woods will challenge for the Pure Title at Death Before Dishonor. (STINGER: WWE) Today's NXT UK will see the start of the Heritage Cup #1 Contender's Tournament. Mark Andrews faces Noam Dar in a first round match. Also on today's show...Flash Morgan Webster vs. Wolfgang...and Amale vs. Nina Samuels. The episode of NWA Powerrr originally scheduled for Tuesday finally premiered last night. It saw the deciding match of the Champions Series...with Colby Corino beating Sal Rinauro...to win the tournament for Team Pope. This means all members of the team - Trevor Murdoch, Jennacide, Jax Dane, The Masked Man, and Corino will get NWA title matches at a time of their choosing. Jay White is set to be in Bey's corner...and Fire n' Flava vs. Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering. He had removed his boots in the ring...after a loss to Malakai Black in last night's main event. Christian Cage is the new #1 contender to Kenny Omega's AEW Championship. Christian pinned The Blade on last night's show. Omega and the rest of The Elite put a beating on Hangman Page in the ring last night. Dark Order wanted to help out but Hangman had told them earlier that they should “go their separate ways”...at least, for now.. The ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian tried to help Hangman, but couldn't overcome the numbers advantage of The Elite. LEGIT Leyla Hirsch is next in line for a shot at the NWA Women's Championship held by Kamille. Hirsch submitted The Bunny last night. Kamille was ringside and had a staredown with Hirsch after the match. The NWA later announced that title match will happen at its Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. Did Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard really want to use TJP, Lio Rush, Daivari and ACH? Why? They fired them. Did they think Jacob Fatu (Cousin to Roman, Usos, Tamina and Nia) should be used in NXT? I don't believe that WWE has watched MLW in years. I think maybe Hunter had and wants them in NXT to help ratings. But I think being around WWE will make them not sign with them in the future.

Results from Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, NXT, MLW Fusion and Stardom's big show are straight ahead in this update. But first, some sad news to report - the passing of a key figure in modern pro wrestling history. Word came Wednesday night that Jim Crockett Jr. has died. He took control of Jim Crockett Promotions during the 1970's after the passing of his father, Jim Crockett Sr. In 1988, he sold Jim Crockett Promotions to Ted Turner - giving birth to World Championship Wrestling. Crockett also served as president of the National Wrestling Alliance from 1980-1991. Jim Crockett Jr. was 76. (STINGER: AEW) Shaquille O'Neal made a big impression on last night's Dynamite. The long-awaited tag match pitting Shaq and Jade Cargill against Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet kicked off the show. Shaq overpowered Cody early on..and even delivered a powerbomb to him. She'll challenge AEW Women's Champ Hikaru Shida at Revolution. Max Caster pinned Dark Order's #10 - after Jack Evans snuck in to hit #10 with a boombox. Matt Hardy paid Evans after the attack - as his war against Dark Order continues. Caster's win makes him the 5th man in the 6-man ladder match at Revolution for a shot at the TNT Championship - alongside Cody Rhodes, Penta El Zero M, Scorpio Sky and Lance Archer. We still do NOT know who the 6th participant will be. AEW says it will be announced by Tony Khan. Paul Wight promised something BIG at Revolution…an announcement about AEW's next major signing. (Wight Revolution Surprise) JJ Dillon was in the corner of FTR and Tully Blanchard for their tag match against Jurassic Express. Dillon's interference wasn't enough to get the win - but the help of a masked man WAS - as Tully PINNED Luchasaurus. After the match, the masked man revealed himself to be...Shawn Spears. A tag match was announced for Revolution Buy-In pre-show on Sunday. Thunder Rosa & Riho vs. Dr. Britt Baker and Reba. (STINGER: WWE) Today's NXT UK has a big main event. Kay Lee Ray defending the UK Women's Title she's held for more than 500 days...against Meiko Satomura. Next week's NXT will now have TWO title matches. Finn Balor will defend the NXT Championship against Adam Cole. Next week's NXT already had Io Shirai set to defend her women's title against Toni Storm. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax held onto the women's tag titles. But the result was controversial. Baszler submitted Kai, but Kai wasn't the legal woman in the ring at the time. Adam Pearce had sent out a “backup” referee after the first one was knocked down during the match. In the aftermath of that result, GM William Regal promised he will make an announcement next week that “will change the landscape of NXT.” NXT Tag Champs Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch beat Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher in a non-title match. LA Knight - the former Eli Drake - was lurking during a match between Bronson Reed and Cameron Grimes...and the distraction allowed Grimes to steal a win. A big night for Calvin Tankman on last night's MLW Fusion. First, he BEAT Laredo Kid. And later, Tankman ran off CONTRA and got the better of MLW Heavyweight Champ Jacob Fatu during a brawl following the main event between Fatu and Jordan Oliver. She won the main event at Stardom's big show Wednesday at Budokan Hall. And thanks to the added Hair vs. Hair stipulation, former champ Giulia was shaved bald in the center of the ring after the match. On the undercard, Natsupoi (nats-poy) defeated AZM (azumi) to win the High Speed Title. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, March 4. Results from Friday's SmackDown and New Japan Strong are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: ROH) Former Ring Of Honor Women's Champion Kelly Klein is now suing the company. Heel By Nature obtained the court paperwork. The lawsuit alleges Klein was terminated by ROH at the end of last year over her complaints about pay for female performers...safety and medical protocols...and harassment. The harassment allegations are specifically aimed at ROH wrestler Jay Lethal. Members of ROH management are also named in the lawsuit. Klein's attorney is Stephen P. New. He told WrestleZone the lawsuit could have wider implications, because it challenges the “independent contractor” status of pro wrestlers. (STINGER: New Japan) Jon Moxley is STILL the IWGP United States Champion. He got past KENTA on last night's New Japan Strong - pinning him after a Death Rider. On the undercard, Ren Narita submitted Chris Dickinson. Back in Japan, the first of two big Castle Attack shows is being held this morning. Tomorrow's show is loaded with title matches. Kota Ibushi defends the IWGP Intercontinental Title against Tetsuya Naito...El Phantasmo vs. El Desperado vs. BUSHI for the vacant Jr. Title. Roman Reigns jumped Bryan after the match and beat him down as the show ended. Apollo Crews used a new finisher - a variation on the Angle Slam - to beat Shinsuke Nakamura. Before the match, Crews talked about being descended from Nigerian royalty...and was also sporting a scarf that he used to gain an edge during the match. Otis got the better of Rey Mysterio again. He pinned Rey after a big splash from the second rope...as Otis and Chad Gable beat Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Rey was still hurting from The Street Profits beat King Corbin and Sami Zayn. Montez Ford pinned Zayn to get the pin. Seth Rollins promo time in the ring was interrupted by Cesaro. Rollins tried to convince him to EMBRACE THE VISION - but all got from Cesaro was a giant - and I mean GIANT - swing. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, February 17, 2021. This update is brought to you by the Wrestling Mayhem Show. Check out the new episode right wherever you get your podcasts. Results from last night's Impact Wrestling and AEW Dark are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan announced early Wednesday that it's cancelling Sunday's Road To Castle Attack show in Fukushima. A magnitude 7.3 earthquake aftershock hit that area last Saturday...and caused some damage to the arena that was set to host the show. We say “aftershock” because experts say this was actually a follow-up from the devastating 9.0 magnitude quake back in 2011 that triggered a tsunami and a nuclear power plant meltdown. No deaths were reported following last Saturday's aftershock. However, more than 100 people were injured. The rest of New Japan's Castle Attack tour will go on as scheduled - including this morning's Road To show. (STINGER: Impact) New Japan's Juice Robinson and David Finlay arrived in the Impact Zone last night. They beat the returning team of Reno Scum...and then went out for some beers with the Good Brothers. TJP beat Josh Alexander to retain the X-Division Championship. Ace Austin says he deserves the next shot the X-Division title after winning the Super X Cup. But Scott D'Amore instead made a 6-man tag for next week - with the members of the winning team advancing to a 3-way the following week to decide the new #1 contender. Simple, right? That 6-man tag next week will be Ace Austin, Chris Bey, and Black Taurus vs. Willie Mack, Josh Alexander, & Trey Miguel. Miguel pinned Daivari last night to win a 4-way that also included Willie Mack and Suicide. Moose beat Tommy Dreamer in an Old School Rules Match. Matt Cardona pinned Hernandez. (STINGER: AEW) The AEW Tag Team Titles are on the line on tonight's Dynamite. The Young Bucks will defend against Santana and Ortiz. Also tonight - the return of former AEW Women's Champ Riho. She'll face NWA Women's Champ Serena Deeb in a first round match in the Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament. Jon Moxley, Lance Archer and Rey Fenix team up against Eddie Kingston, The Butcher & The Blade. A new match just announced yesterday - Hangman Page and Matt Hardy vs. The Hybrid2. Plus, FTR vs. Matt AND Mike Sydal. Last night's AEW Dark may have seen the shortest match in AEW history. Ricky Starks plowed through KC Navarro in FOUR seconds. Also, Bear Country beat Chaos Project. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight's NXT will have the fallout from Sunday's TakeOver - and Adam Cole's stunning show-ending superkicks to Finn Balor AND Kyle O'Reilly. WWE released new footage Tuesday from just after TakeOver went off the air. Balor is heard saying he's not sure he can trust O'Reilly...and that he's not going to clean up O'Reilly's mess. MVP lashed out at so-called “dirt sheets” Tuesday - tweeting that reports he traveled to Alabama to meet with surgeons are not accurate. MVP was seen using crutches on Monday's Raw Talk after suffering an apparent knee injury on Raw. Teddy Hart is behind bars. He was arrested nearly a week ago in Fort Worth, Texas on multiple charges. Hart's last appearance with a national promotion was back in 2019 in MLW. Tonight's MLW Fusion is its “Tom Lawlor's Filthy Island” special. Matches include Low Ki vs. King Mo...Rocky Romero vs. Gringo Loco...and an Azteca Jungle Fight between Mil Muertes and Savio Vega. All Japan announced this week that its Champion Carnival tournament will run from April 9th thru May 3rd. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, February 17. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, February 16, 2021. A special welcome to those of you listening on OccupyProWrestling.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. Results from Ring Of Honor's weekend TV are ahead in this update but first… The BIG announcement from Monday night's Raw. Lacey Evans revealed she's pregnant...during a tag match that had her and Peyton Royce facing Asuka and Charlotte Flair. Evans never tagged into the match. Wrestling Inc. was first to report that Evans' pregnancy IS LEGIT. She was scheduled to challenge Asuka for the Raw women's title at Sunday's Elimination Chamber show - but that obviously will not be possible now. Sheamus will be the final entrant in Sunday's Chamber match for the WWE Championship. He pinned Drew McIntyre after a Brogue Kick to win a gauntlet match that consumed the final hour of last night's Raw. Randy Orton was counted out of the gauntlet match. He was distracted by Alexa Bliss' face appearing on basically every screen in the ThunderDome. Raw opened with The Miz withdrawing from the Chamber match - in favor of watching and waiting with the Money In The Bank contract. Miz' plan was to have John Morrison replace him - but Kofi Kingston intervened and later beat Miz to secure that final spot. Braun Strowman was back on WWE TV last night. He confronted Adam Pearce about being left out of the Chamber match. Bad Bunny is the new 24/7 Champion. His backstage interview was interrupted by Akira Tozawa pinning R-Truth to win the 24/7 title. Damien Priest knocked out Tozawa and Bad Bunny took the pin. (STINGER: Impact) New Japan's Juice Robinson and David Finlay arrive in the Impact Zone tonight. TJP defends the X-Division Championship against Josh Alexander. Also announced for tonight's Impact Wrestling - a 4-way between Trey Miguel, Willie Mack, Daivari and Suicide. The debut episode of Before The Impact - starting at 7PM on AXS TV - Decay vs. XXXL. (STINGER: AEW) Twelve matches on tonight's AEW Dark. Jon Moxley will be in action - taking on Jon Cruz. At least four wrestlers will make their AEW debuts on tonight's Dark - including Renee Michelle, who's facing Shanna...and Misterioso, who's become a regular on New Japan Strong. First round matches from the Japan side of the Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament shown on AEW's YouTube channel last night. No major surprises. Yuka Sakazaski, Emi Sakura, Ryo Mizunami and Aja Kong all advanced. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor announcing Monday it will hold its 19th Anniversary show on March 26th. That's a Friday night - starting at 9PM. ROH says all its championships will be defended during the four-hour show. On this past weekend's ROH TV - Jay Lethal, Rhett Titus and Wheeler Yuta beat Jonathan Gresham, Tracy Williams and Fred Yehi. Also, LSG beat Tony Deppen. New Japan is running another Road to Castle Attack show this morning. Elsewhere in Japan - Two legendary names - who both happen to be over the age of 50 - are now holding top titles AND new contracts. Pro-Wrestling NOAH announced Monday that Keiji Mutoh has signed a two-year deal with the company. Mutoh won the GHC Heavyweight Championship last Friday. Mutoh's first defense will be against Kaito Kiyomiya on March 14. Also, Jun Akiyama has signed a one-year contract with DDT Pro. Akiyama won that company's top title - the KO-D Openweight Championship - over the weekend. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, February 16. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, February 13, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Friday's SmackDown and Pro-Wrestling NOAH shows are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: Impact) FOUR title matches set for tonight at Impact Wrestling's “No Surrender” show. It's an Impact Plus exclusive. Tommy Dreamer celebrates his 50th birthday with a shot at Rich Swann's Impact World Championship. The Good Brothers defend the Impact Tag Titles in 3-way against AEW's Private Party and the team of James Storm and Chris Sabin. TJP defends the X-Division Championship against Rohit Raju. The next #1 contender for the X-Division title will be decided in the first-ever Triple Threat Revolver Match. It's basically a 3-way dance with replacements. Three men will start - when a wrestler is pinned or submitted, another will take his place. Once they're out of entrants, the final pinfall or submission will earn the victory. Simple, right? Eight men are involved - Trey Miguel, Chris Bey, Josh Alexander, Blake Christian, Ace Austin, Willie Mack, Suicide and Daivari. Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan defend the Knockouts tag titles against Havok and Neveah in a No Disqualification/Texas Tornado rules match. Also, Hernandez & Brian Myers vs. Matt Cardona & Eddie Edwards (STINGER: WWE) WWE will give us TWO matches inside the Elimination Chamber in just over a week. SmackDown set up its offering on Friday night. Six men will compete for a shot at Roman Reigns' Universal Championship later that same night. Four of them earned their spots in the Chamber on Friday's SmackDown. King Corbin and Sami Zayn beat Rey and Dominik Mysterio...and Daniel Bryan and Cesaro beat Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Kevin Owens and Jey Uso will also be in the SmackDown Chamber match. Seth Rollins returned to SmackDown - entering to his old “Burn It Down” song - as wrestlers surrounded the ring. But it quickly became clear that Rollins' days as “The Messiah” are not over yet. The wrestlers all left while Rollins was speaking. Cesaro was the last to leave, but that just left him open to be attacked from behind by Rollins. An Intercontinental Title match between Big E and Shinsuke Nakamura was interrupted by Apollo Crews, who caused a disqualification. 58-year-old Keiji Mutoh is the new GHC Heavyweight Champion. He ended Go Shizaki's 400+ day reign in the main event of Pro-Wrestling NOAH's big show at Budokan Hall Friday. The undercard saw Seiki Yoshioka defeat Daisuke Harada to win the GHC junior heavyweight champion. (STINGER: New Japan) Not much time to rest for New Japan after their “New Beginning” tour. The “Castle Attack” tour kicks off Sunday with the first “Road To” show. The main event is a 10-man elimination tag between Chaos vs. Bullet Club. Big matches later on the tour: El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori defend the junior tag titles against Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI on February 25th. And then, the big shows on back-to-back days - February 27th...Kazuchika Okada vs. EVIL...Jay White vs. Tomohiro Ishii...AND Toru Yano defending the provisional KOPW 2021 title against Chase Owens. The following day - February 28th - has FOUR title matches - Kota Ibushi defending the Intercontinental Title against Tetsuya Naito...Hiromu Takahashi defending his junior title against El Phantasmo...Great-O-Khan challenging Hiroshi Tanahashi for the NEVER title...and Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI going after the tag titles held by the Guerrillas of Destiny. (STINGER: ROH) It was supposed to happen at Final Battle. Now, Ring Of Honor has set the date for Shane Taylor Promotions to finally get their shot at the 6-man tag titles held by Bandido, Rey Horus and Flamita. The match will air on ROH TV during the weekend of February 20th. There's new hope for lucha libre as it wrestles with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Luchablog reports...areas in and around Mexico City will upgrade their health status to “orange” starting next week. That would allow promotions in that area to resume running shows - but still without any live fans in attendance. WrestleCon will be part of the WrestleMania week festivities in Tampa. Organizers announced a scaled-down convention with numerous COVID-19 safety protocols...along with virtual options for those who are unwilling or unable to attend. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, February 6, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Friday's SmackDown and New Japan Strong are straight ahead in this update but first… Some sad news to pass along. Pro wrestling legend Butch Reed has died. Charismatic and powerful, “Hacksaw” got his start during the late 1970's. He rose to prominence in promotions across the southeast - most notably in the Mid-South territory, where he memorably served as both friend and foe to Junkyard Dog. Reed had a brief stint with the World Wrestling Federation in the late 80's. Rechristened “The Natural”, he made his WWF debut at WrestleMania 3...with a win over Koko B. Ware. Reed left the WWF shortly after losing to Randy Savage in the first round of the championship tournament at WrestleMania IV. Reed moved on to the NWA and WCW - where he formed the tag team Doom with Ron Simmons...and won the WCW tag titles. Reed and Simmons would eventually split and feud before Reed left WCW in 1992. That was his last run with a major promotion. Reed passed away Friday due to heart complications. Butch Reed was 66. No answers from the Rumble winners Friday on who they'll challenge at WrestleMania. The show ended with Universal Champ Roman Reigns demanding an answer from Edge before Kevin Owens snuck in to hit Reigns with a Stunner. Bianca Belair faced off with SmackDown women's champ Sasha Banks and Carmella - but again, no answer on her Mania challenge. As far as matches...Big E retained his Intercontinental Championship - he beat Apollo Crews with the Big Ending to win a three-way that also involved Sami Zayn. Cesaro beat Daniel Bryan AGAIN. This time he submitted him with the Sharpshooter. Rey Mysterio's interference helped his son Dominik beat King Corbin. (STINGER: New Japan) Rey Horus beat TJP in the main event of last night's New Japan Strong, (STINGER: AEW) Circling back to some upcoming matches announced this week. Next Wednesday's Dynamite will have Darby Allin defending the TNT Championship against Joey Janela...Chris Jericho & MJF vs. The Acclaimed...and Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson vs. PRETTY Peter Avalon & Cezar Bononi. (STINGER: Impact) An eight-man tag match added to next Tuesday's Impact Wrestling - Trey Miguel, Willie Mack, Josh Alexander & Suicide vs. Ace Austin, Chris Bey, Daivari & Blake Christian All of those men who will compete in the first-ever Triple Threat Revolver Match at No Surrender on February 13th. It'll decide the #1 contender for the X-Division Championship. Tommy Dreamer is working to get ready for his shot at Impact Champ Rich Swann at No Surrender. (Dreamer Match Prep) Dreamer speaking on Impact's “Press Pass” podcast. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, February 6. Our next update comes your way Monday morning. Enjoy your weekend. I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, January 9, 2021. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: WWE) Roman Reigns' challenger for the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble was decided on Friday night's SmackDown. Are you ready for this? It's gonna be Adam Pearce. The SmackDown authority figure was the sixth and final entrant in a gauntlet match that had seen Shinsuke Nakamura go through Rey Mysterio, King Corbin and Daniel Bryan. But Reigns and Jey Uso arrived to take down both men, and laid Pearce over Nakamura for the pin. Pearce's last match was back in 2014, but he has plenty of credentials from a nearly two decade in-ring career - including five reigns as NWA World Heavyweight Champion between 2007 and 2012. The other big development from SmackDown - NEW tag team champions. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode dethroned the Street Profits by pinning a valiant, but hobbling, Montez Ford for the win. The Profits had held either the SmackDown or Raw tag titles uninterrupted since last March. Big E got through a confusing double pin..and a match restart..before putting away Apollo Crews to retain the Intercontinental Title. But this may not be over. Apollo later demanded a rematch. It appears Sonya Deville's on-air role in her return to WWE TV will be helping Pearce run SmackDown. Don't think Sonya's forgotten about her SummerSlam loss to Mandy Rose. (Sonya New Job) That clip from Friday's SmackDown. Newly announced entrants for the Royal Rumble matches themselves: Bianca Belair, Bayley...and on the men's side: Otis. William Regal announced Friday that some of the first round matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will be held on 205 Live. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling is running its Genesis show tonight. It's an Impact Plus exclusive. The bulk of the action will be in the one-night Super X Cup tournament. First round matches are: Ace Austin vs. Suicide...Daivari vs. Cousin Jake...Crazzy Steve vs. Tre Lamar...and KC Navarro vs. Blake Christian. Also tonight, we'll get Jordynne Grace vs. Jazz...and Moose vs. Willie Mack in an I Quit Match. Maybe we should start calling this “Re-signing Season”. Brian Myers revealed on Twitter Friday that he's signed a new contract with Impact Wrestling. And Ring Of Honor announced the latest in a string of re-signings this week - in the form of Brian Johnson. Four students from the ROH Dojo will compete for the right to challenge Jonathan Gresham for the Pure Title. Joe Keys, Dante Caballero, Ken Dixon and Eric Martin are set for a Gauntlet Match...that will air during ROH's “Week By Week” YouTube show on January 19th. Chris Dickinson made his New Japan Strong debut Friday night. He was the mystery partner for Team Filthy's Tom Lawlor and Danny Limelight in a win over Brody King and the Riegel Twins. Daivari made his shocking return in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory. Tonight, he goes one-on-one with former World Champion Eddie Edwards! Daivari hits a jawbreaker but Eddie comes right back with a belly-to-belly suplex. Daivari sends Eddie crashing into the steel ring post, allowing him to gain control. Daivari begins to wear Eddie down, halting his attempts to build any sort of momentum. Eddie finally turns the tide with a Backpack Stunner for two. Daivari takes Eddie off the top with a Frankensteiner for a near fall. Tenille Dashwood and Jordynne Grace try to find their chemistry ahead of the tournament to crown new Knockouts Tag Team Champions, beginning this Tuesday on IMPACT! Meanwhile, Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary are two of the suspects in the shooting of John E Bravo! Tenille is more focused on Kaleb taking photos of her from ringside, allowing Rosemary to take control in the early going. Taya whips her own partner into the corner, displaying incredible double team offense. Taya wears Jordynne down with a vicous German suplex, while Tenille doesn't seem eager to get back into the match. Jordynne hits Taya with a big Spinebuster but Tenille makes the blind tag, potentially costing her team the match! After Su Yung eliminated Kimber Lee last week on IMPACT!, Deonna Purrazzo will have to go it alone in her Knockouts Championship rematch! Deonna charges at Su during her entrance but Su pulls down the top rope, sending her crashing to the outside. Su brings out the bloody glove early, connecting with a strong palm strike. Deonna gains control with a single-arm DDT. Deonna ties up Su on the bottom rope with the Paradise Lock, then kicks her to the floor. Deonna litters the ring with weapons and there's nothing the referee can do about it! Su swings and misses with the kendo stick, allowing Deonna to connect with a side Russian legsweep. Su finds a rope underneath the ring and begins to choke her. Deonna charges into the corner and collides with a steel chair that she set up earlier! The fight spills up the ramp to the stage, where Su connects with a powerful pedigree! https://anchor.fm/jesse-markes https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/markesinwheelchair-1371389 https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/markesinwheelchair/id1524667030 https://anchor.fm/jesse-markes/support https://markespodcast.blogspot.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/markespodcast/?notif_id=1598883943162363¬if_t=group_invited_to_group&ref=notif https://www.stitcher.com/s?eid=77348908 https://www.breaker.audio/markesinwheelchair-1 share with your friends #markesinwheelchair https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-markesinwheelchair-69193952/ #india #uk #usa #canada #russia --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jesse-markes/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jesse-markes/support

Back in 2011, TNA tried creating a wrestling product for Speed TV by the name of All Wheels Wrestling. A crossover between pro wrestling & racing! It featured Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, The Human Cyclone, & Shawn Daivari. Of course, Daivari had to be named Dubai. Pro wrestling really can't stop itself sometimes. AEW held Fyter Fest Week 2 which was main evented by Orange Cassidy vs Chris Jericho. Fyter Fest also saw Taz introduce the FTW Championship crowning Brian Cage the FTW Champion while Jon Moxley is AFK due to COVID related issues. NJPW Dominion went down which saw New Japan Cup winner EVIL face off against Tetsuya Naito for both the IWGP Heavyweight Championship & the IWGP Intercontinental Championship in the main event. On today's episode of Something To Wrestle with Bruce Prichard, Bruce and Conrad look back at Backlash 2005! The PPV was a RAW brand event that featured Hulk Hogan teaming up with HBK to face Muhammad Hassan and Daivari, a Last Man Standing Match between Edge and Benoit, plus a main event pitting World Heavyweight Champion Batista and Triple H. In the main event, Batista defeated Triple H in a singles match to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.[4] From the five scheduled bouts on the undercard, two received more promotion than the others. The first was a tag team match, in which Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan defeated Muhammad Hassan and Daivari. The other was a Last Man Standing match, a match where a wrestler is unable to respond to a ten count by the referee would lose. Edge defeated Chris Benoit after Benoit failed to get to his feet before the referee's count to ten. If you have credit card debt or in a 30 year loan? The Undertaker goes to prison! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover the colossal cluster of his Punjabi Prison match at Great American Bash 2006 against The Big Show. Wait - isn't the Punjabi Prison the signature match of The Great Khali? Why yes it is - and we'll discuss the three bizarre words that led to Big Show stepping into the bamboo cage in Khali's place on the day of the show: Elevated Liver Enzymes. But before we get to the cursed PPV and the incredibly confusing Punjabi Prison, we've got a wacky build-up to discuss including a Piper's Pit filled with stuff you can't say on TV anymore, Khali's tongue, The Undertaker in ECW, another Saturday Night's Main Event, Daivari's fashion faux-pas, JBL's debut on commentary (with even more stuff you can't say on TV anymore), the break up of the Mexicools, Gunner Scott (who?), Tatanka, Simon Dean, more incomprehensible Khali promos, and some behind the scenes stories involving Dusty Rhodes and Pat Patterson crafting the big match. It's one of the most controversial moments in The Undertaker and the WWE's history on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover the chaotic clash between Muhammad Hassan and The Undertaker at the 2005 Great American Bash. The match itself gives us plenty to talk about including Hassan's (very) Last Ride in the company. But what we're really here to discuss is the so-called "terrorist" angle from July 7, 2005. It's a storyline that would have had people talking no matter what. Unfortunately it just so happened to air on the same day as a major terrorist attack. We'll discuss how this through this storyline into chaos, if anything could have been done to change it, how the WWE reacted, and what did (and didn't) work about the Hassan and Daivari characters. As if that's not enough, we'll also cover the 2005 Draft, Randy Orton's WrestleMania revenge, Muhammad Hassan's attorney who would go on to NXT stardom, another raucous match with JBL, Cole and Tazz's continual stupidity, and a few things we think could have saved the Muhammad Hassan character.
