On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville edition, we are joined by musician Rick Monroe and singer/songwriter, Matt Oakley!RICK MONROEWorld-class entertainer Rick Monroe brings his music and a magnetic presence wherever he goes. With adown-to-earth Country resonance, Monroe is no stranger to the stage: he's performed in 17 countries–and every U.S. state including Washington DC & Puerto Rico. The seven-time Jägermeister Country Brand Ambassador has toured with Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Lee Bice, Aaron Lewis, Eli Young Band, Pat Green & Randy Houser as well as has opened for Country Music Legends like Charlie Daniels Band, Dwight Yoakam, Travis Tritt, Patty Loveless and more; entertained for the USO, AFE, U.S. troops in Vietnam and the former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev. His brother called him “Elvis Gump” because of all the amazing people and places his career has led him.Show-goers can expect to hear some of Rick's new material as well as hit singles like the sultry “This Side of You,” and the Southern rocker “Cocaine Cold & Whiskey Shakes.” As well as several Top 40 hits from the IT'S A LOVE THING, GYPSY SOUL EPs & Full Albums SMOKE OUT THE WINDOW & AGAINST THE GRAIN.For those who aren't familiar with his music, Rick advises them to come to the show for a good time and to be ready for “just about anything.” “I love to play,” the singer notes. “And I want everyone to play along. I like to think of my shows as an interactive sport.”Rick enjoys sponsorships and/or endorsements with Monster Energy Drink, GHS Strings, SE electronics, Roper Western Wear, Shubb Capos, Speakeasy Original, Westone Audio & Fishman Audio. Rick grew up in a variety of places–California, Connecticut, Kansas, North Carolina, even England, and his love of music and outgoing personality naturally drew him to the stage. Now based in Nashville, Monroe believes GYPSY SOUL shows the kind of diversity he can offer as an artist. He says, “I'm not so linear in my approach to music; I'm more diversified. My influences range from A to Z and I always try to put that into my music. But my home base will always be Country because it's not just about the hype of an idea; it's based on songs.” Fans can expect to hear a wide range of material–but Rick promises that it will all be quality. If his chart success is any indication, it's clear Monroe knows what folks want to hear–and he's eager to give them exactly that.MATT OAKLEYMatt Oakley is diving in with the ultimate summertime love song, “Single This Summer,” releasing on June 28. Neon nights and shots in the moonlight, “Single This Summer” delivers clever messaging of "trying to keep her from being ‘single this summer'."“We wanted the tempo and energy to match the storyline and feel like a summer song, not some slow love song,”Oakley states about the song that'll have you carefree in the summer heat.Matt Oakley's first song written with Nashville songwriters including GRAMMY Award winning songwriter David Ray Stevens, “Single This Summer” ushers in good vibes in summertime. Oakley sings, "we were two flames burning, red wine and bourbon, leaning on each other for a little southern comfort.""Single This Summer" will be available on all streaming platforms June 28, one week after his appearance on Tampa Bay's Morning Blend on June 21. On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Rick Monroe has some brand new music and some awesome news he's here to share with everyone. Rick announces that Motor City Madman Ted Nugent is bringing Rick on tour with him, who he says has been a treat to work with and it has been a surreal experience to work with not only him, but his entire crew too. Rick touches on some of the controversies around the Motor City Madman, saying he's a good man with a great family and that what you read is just clickbait tabloids looking for some clicks. The guys then talk about how some musicians are so linear when it comes to their music taste. Rick says that if you close yourself off and stick to what you know, you're going to miss a lot in the world. Rick reveals to us that they have a lot of new material coming out in the near future, which includes an entire record which they've been putting songs out from every 6 to 8 weeks. However, the main focus at the moment is doing the tour and doing the best show they can. Pipeman asks Rick to describe his music, to which he says they've opened up for the Oak Ridge Boys and Queens to give you an idea. He says it's real music. He goes on to describe how his band, The Hitmen, came together during covid after they were sort of forced to play together. All the band members have their own influences and they all merge together to create what you hear today. For all the information you could need, head to rickmonroe.com, which is the landing page to get the music, the merch and information about shows. You can follow Rick on social media which you should be able to find under Rick Monroe or Rick Monroe and the Hitmen.Rick Monroe & The Hitmen announced that they will be hitting the road this summer in support of the rock n roll icon Ted Nugent on the Detroit Muscle 2022 Tour.“What can we say about getting the opportunity to support an icon and Rock -n- Roll legend like Ted Nugent, except hell yeah! We are so excited about this tour and can't wait to get out there and tear it up with the Motor City Madman," says the band.Rick Monroe & The Hitmen's latest singles include "World Gone Crazy" that was released on April 15, 2022 and "Common Ground" feat. With a down-to-earth Country resonance, Monroe is no stranger to the stage: he's performed in 17 countries – and every U.S. state including Washington DC & Puerto Rico. His brother called him “Elvis Gump” because of all the amazing people and places his career has led him.Show-goers can expect to hear some of Rick's new material as well as hit singles like the sultry “This Side of You,” and the Southern rocker "Cocaine Cold & Whiskey Shakes." As well as several Top 40 hits from the IT'S A LOVE THING, GYPSY SOUL EPs & full albums SMOKE OUT THE WINDOW and AGAINST THE GRAIN.For those who aren't familiar with his music, Rick advises them to come to the show for a good time and to be ready for “just about anything.” “I love to play,” the singer notes. “And I want everyone to play along. I like to think of my shows as an interactive sport.”Rick grew up in a variety of places – California, Connecticut, Kansas, North Carolina, even England, and his love of music and outgoing personality naturally drew him to the stage. Now based in Nashville, Monroe, believes GYPSY SOUL shows the kind of diversity he can offer as an artist. He says, “I'm not so linear in my approach to music; I'm more diversified. My influences range from A to Z and I always try to put that into my music. But my home base will always be Country because it's not just about the hype of an idea; it's based on songs.” Fans can expect to hear a wide range of material – but Rick promises that it will all be quality. If his chart success is any indication, it's clear Monroe knows what folks want to hear – and he's eager to give them exactly that. The “Great Minds” music video and “This Side of You” lyric video have logged over 1,000,000 views on YouTube. While his streams, without any curated playlist have reached of 850,000 and growing.Monroe has also partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on his latest single latest single "God's Ear" where 50 % of all digital sales will go to St. Jude.“God's Ear” delivers a message that reminds the listener that they are never alone in their struggles; that as incomprehensible and overwhelming as things may seem, hope is never really lost if they allow Him into their heart.
