In this episode we take a question from a listener that focuses on the concept of having good shots out of the back of our camera and how much we should really be relying on software to save or make the final image pop. We discuss the ratio of frontend vs. backend work of a photographer and where we think a healthy and realistic balance is. Frontend being filming, photographing, editing, etc. and backend being, creating pitch decks, emailing, networking, etc. We also discuss common emotional responses when both giving and receiving advice and how this line of communication can be faulty. Thanks to OnCore Golf for being this episode's sponsor!Submit your name and email and be entered to win the entire grand prize of:$300 : One OnCore Leather Golf Bag$35 : 1 OnCore Fairway/Driver Head Cover$20 : 1 OnCore Towel$25 : 1 OnCore Beer Cooler$150 : 3 Dozen OnCore Golf Balls (winner chooses which model)$250 : Free OnCore Club VIP Membership (gives you early arrivals of new products, automatic entry into experiential Sweepstakes like our celebrity cup, 25% off everything, free shipping and free customization)Enter the Grand Prize Giveaway here:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1raPe4EAOJWqbqRG-EThk8_9Bt35WMrE56lM6ThflBho/Make a donation via PayPal for any amount you feel is equal to the value you receive from our podcast episodes! Aaron is back after I went solo last week. We like to do at least an episode a month where Aaron and I get some one-on-one time to discuss thoughts we've been having and concepts we've been mulling over to improve our photography practice and overall life. Aaron is interested in starting a photo-book venture so we talk about that and use it as a vehicle to get into deeper discussion about when to trust and not trust our gut feeling. We emphasize the importance of practicing humility and not pretending to have an understanding of everything and anything. "Knowing What You Don't Know" is a great way to seek expert advice and collect an array of input and data before making decisions. We revisit the importance of having fun grinding and struggling along our journey to get to where we want to. Without the struggle, there would be no progress, and no fulfillment. We try to constantly remind ourselves and listeners of this fact of life. Thanks to OnCore Golf for being this episode's sponsor!Submit your name and email and be entered to win the entire grand prize of:$300 : One OnCore Leather Golf Bag$35 : 1 OnCore Fairway/Driver Head Cover$20 : 1 OnCore Towel$25 : 1 OnCore Beer Cooler$150 : 3 Dozen OnCore Golf Balls (winner chooses which model)$250 : Free OnCore Club VIP Membership (gives you early arrivals of new products, automatic entry into experiential Sweepstakes like our celebrity cup, 25% off everything, free shipping and free customization)Enter the Grand Prize Giveaway here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1raPe4EAOJWqbqRG-EThk8_9Bt35WMrE56lM6ThflBho/Make a donation via PayPal for any amount you feel is equal to the value you receive from our podcast episodes! In this episode we're joined by Canadian photographer Justin Choquette (@justin.choquette) who talks about the process and strategic planning that went into trading his 9-5 job as an electrician for being a full time content creator. We get into when that perfect moment to make the transition or "leap of faith" is. More specifically, what boxes should you have ticked off and what criteria allow for that move to make the most sense. We talk about how the landscape of quality education is changing with the new age of instant access to information. More and more of the world's most innovative and successful people are getting an amazing education entirely for free on a smartphone online. In this episode Aaron and I talk about the guilt potentially associated with wanting something from someone and how "manipulation" has turned into a word that is possibly loaded and negatively biased. Is socially engineering or manipulating an interaction to garner you business wrong? We talk about how having your self interests at heart is required in order for you to successfully pitch and generate opportunity for yourself. In other words, you can't want more for yourself and feel bad aggressively going after it. We really dig into what a symbiotic client-photographer relationship should look like and how to portray that you have your clients best interest at heart right away in any pitch. Thanks to OnCore Golf for being this episode's sponsor!Check out their award-winning patented perimeter weighted golf balls: https://www.oncoregolf.com/shop-golf-balls/Use code TPM15 for 15% off any order!Big shoutout to this week's #TPMartwork feature @decoen.nature with his shot of an Osyter Catcher giving itself a little scratch on the beach. Aaron and I sit down to talk about being authentic with people in your dealings and especially emphasize the importance of saying "no" as opposed to trying to please everybody. We also talk about where the urge to get revenge on someone who has wronged you comes from and ultimately if the amount of time and energy needed to bring someone down is worth it in the end. On this week's episode of the "TeeBox Chatter Golf Podcast" my Co-Host Doug Lauder and I discuss several topics. Leading off we discuss some equipment that came in for testing. Tanto Golf divot repair tools. Made in the USA and these divot repair tools are worth every penny. Doug love the MINI and I love the bigger RP2 divot repair tool. While we're at it, fix your ball marks and why is it that golfers don't fix ball marks? Breakthrough Golf Technology. The Stability Tour Fire putter shaft that I received has made a huge difference in my first two rounds with it. Shout out to the Tour Edge Golf Exotics Wingman 01 putter... That we both play. The PGA Championship. Justin Thomas wins with a huge assist from his caddie Jim "Bones" Mackay. Mito Pereira's decision was it the right play on 18? Mito made a lot of fans with his play and demeanour at Southern Hills. Rory, major underachiever? He stormed off without a post-round interview, what gives? The PGA Championship playoff and Will Zalatoris a major contender. By the way, Southern Hills was a fantastic venue and this was by far the best PGA Championship that I viewed. Single digit under par scoring. It felt like a major. Southern Hills' Superintendent was a star along with the venue itself. Is it the end of the Tiger era? Will he win another Major? Canadians in the U.S. Open. Grace Kim a rookie on the Epson Tour claims her first professional victory at the IOA Classic where it was "AussieMania". A heated debate. Doug says Symetra Tour and I say Epson Tour. It's Epson. Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play is this week on the LPGA Tour. We talk about eliminations and a second heated debate about "double knockout". Do you enjoy watching Match Play? We talk golf balls as Doug is in a frantic search for the right ball. We talk about the Wilson Staff DUO Professional and a little story about OnCore Golf. Originally from New Zealand, Tania Tare is a professional golfer. She is also a trick short artist filming some of the most wicked trick shots I've seen. She likes to practice and spent some time at FIU working with Coach Joe Vogel. She currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and spends a lot of time at Troon North Golf Club. She even shot a trick shot video on the gamed 16th hole during the Waste Management Phoenix Open a couple of years ago. On this episode of The Wednesday Match Play Podcast we talk about her trick shots, who is recording those videos, her relationship with OnCore Golf, her upcoming travel plans and her relationship with KC Public Relations. We also find out if she thinks Tiger will break Jack's record. Her answer might surprise you. This was a fun episode and I hope you enjoy the show. Let's jump into it.
