We wanna hear from you! Send us a message here :) Leaning into his Appalachian roots, Campton, Kentucky-raised viral streamer Tyler Booth has always let the music lead in his career. Drawing inspiration from his rural upbringing and artists like Jamey Johnson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard, as well as some of the greats native to his area, like Keith Whitley, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapelton, and Tyler Childers, Booth's rootsy, back porch pickin' sound and warm baritone vocals has won favor with well over 1 million collective social fans, who all together have streamed his music over 100 million times.Set to release his upcoming EP Downtown in June, Booth - who's taken the stage with acts like Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, Brooks & Dunn, Dwight Yoakum, and Johnson himself - kicks off the project with classic country tune “Talkin' White Trash” - out April 4. “I wanted to bring it back a bit more grassroots. Bring it back a bit more to where I began. There's not a ton of production on this project - two songs are just me and a guitar. There's some bluegrass, there's mandolin, flat pickin'. I wanted to bring a bluegrass element, some blues, and a bit of rock.”Support the show

This week on The Whiskey Trip, Big Chief takes us deep into the heart of Texas—the Hill Country—where dusty wind runs in the blood, and memories ride tall in the saddle. He's joined by none other than his little brother, Mitch Grey—known to many as Little Feather. Together, they ride back through time, sharing stories of their rural upbringing, their military service, and the unbreakable bond only forged through hard years and harder lessons. As the wind whistles through mesquite and cedar, Little Feather sings songs that echo with soul, grit, and brotherhood. Their first pour is Kiepersol Distillery's Jimmy's Bourbon 10-Year, a Texas gem layered with rich notes of root beer, aged caramel, and old oak. It's the perfect pairing for Craig Morgan's Almost Home—a song written by a veteran, sung by one, and felt by all. The second half of the journey brings a whiskey as bold as the land itself: Charles Goodnight Bourbon. Named for the legendary cattleman, this 115-proof powerhouse roars like a Comanche wind through caliche dust and cedar breaks. Toasted caramel, roasted nuts, and a peppery finish—it's the frontier in a bottle. As the sun sets over the hills, Mitch sings a haunting rendition of Jamey Johnson's In Color, reminding us that true history isn't in the pages—it's in the scars, the sunsets, and the stories passed between brothers. This episode is more than a tasting. It's a living tribute to blood, battle, and the stubborn beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Two brothers. Two whiskeys. Two songs. One bond—unshakable, undeniable, and deeply American. This is The Whiskey Trip. Cheers, y'all.

Timmy McKeever, growing up in Huntingon, California McKeever started his musical journey at age nine after hearing his third grade teacher play worship songs after class. That intrigued young Timmy so much that he picked up a beginner guitar they had lying around the house and started playing around. From there it blossomed into writing music and playing shows. “My whole childhood I would play 2-3 shows during the weekend and go to school during the week. Write music after class. I just fell in love with it” he shares. McKeever got offered a development deal with Jim Cantino over at Droptine Records. McKeever just released his debut album “Devils and Angels”, and it's been getting good feedback. “Devils in Angels is an album that follows all the aspects of love from the beginning to the end and the aftermath. All the highs and lows and in betweens. It's very personal to me because the title track was the first song I ever wrote where I thought this is something really special to me.” He adds that he saved the song for the past two years because he wanted it as the title track of his debut project. Country music roots run deep, and so does the sound of Charlie Argo. Swampy, soulful, and laced with that signature crackle, his music is as real as it gets. In this episode, Chad sits down with Charlie to talk about the state of country music today. How everything falls under the same genre label, yet sounds wildly different. They dive into what it takes to make it as an artist in a world where success is measured in numbers, and if you don't have them, good luck getting a label to notice. Charlie shares the wisdom he's picked up along the way, including a piece of advice from Jamey Johnson that every musician should hear. Because at the end of the day, trends come and go, but nothing stands the test of time like real music. Do yourself a favor and give Charlie's music a listen, we promise, you'll be hooked. Born Justin Brownlee Tolley in Central VA April 6, 1974, Justin took in a variety of early music influences from an early age including classic rock, R&B, funk and classic country and Americana genres to eventually learn piano, trombone & bass guitar and navigate his unique path and career in music. He has arranged & written in Virginia original bands including RedLightGo 97-99 (Lexington), Mafia Track Suit 09-12 (Roanoke), while hustling the cover band circuit for 13 years with the Worx. When not booked with the Worx, always eager to meet players and play with Roanoke valley bands. With the Worx, he opened for bands including: Keith Urban, Tracy Lawrence, Trace Adkins, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, to name a few. Always a proponent of moving the Roanoke scene forward, he spent the early 2000s at downtown haunts like Green Dolphin's open mic, Martin's, Blue5, 202, Awfuls - always up to hang and support members of the Roanoke music scene. His move to Nashville in early 2015 continued an ever-changing career path, connecting with Jon Wysocki former drummer of Staind to make music together. Lower Broadway & midtown became the grind and networking hub amidst one of the richest musician pools on the planet. Writing, recording and touring with Jon behind Natalie Brady Band (see FB and YouTube), then following the restart of the Covid lockdown, bassist of original rock act River Ghost. (found on all streaming platforms) During his 7+ years in Nashville, he primarily toured the midwest from the Gulf up to Minneapolis, Kansas City to Key West from 2015-2019 with multiple bands. One of his favorite tours as bass player for upcoming artist Kasey Tyndall, opening for Whiskey Myers & Jamey Johnson - both huge musical influences. Moving on from the Natalie Brady Band post Covid shutdown, he headed back to Nashville and through a shared reference met up with River Ghost, all original bluesy/ swampy-rock band akin to Crowes/ Allman/ Sabbath .. The remaining two years in Nashville was spent writing, showcasing and recording River Ghost material, while juggling steady shifts with “Loud & Co”, bending the rules with tired setlist at a time in and around Nashville, mostly in the Lower Broadway scene. Upon meeting Belgium native Kathleen Ongena in Nashville, they formed 369 Music, a Rock cover band putting hand-selected players together to gig around Nashville. Eventually the need to relocate to Virginia came to bear since losing his father to a stroke in 2019. The decision was made in fall 2022 to return home to take care of the home place in Natural Bridge Station. Justin and Kat set up 369 Music gigs in Virginia, enlisting players in the area to round out the lineup. Follow on FB at 369 Music. Now residing in Natural Bridge Station, Justin still pursues music when the gigs present themselves, as well as aviation - working toward his pilot license. And like the Nashville scene, willing to jump in when bands are in need of bass in the area. ‘369 Music', is currently putting together a press kit to promote bookings, also dates on his books playing for local Kid Rock tribute act “Cowboy”.

This new album follows the success of previously released singles off the album “Country Club” “One Way Street,” and “Louisiana” which have seen a great response from press and fans alike, with Wonderland Magazine stating, “Roberts' heartfelt lyrics capture the universal theme of unrequited love, striking a chord with listeners worldwide.” “Country Club” specifically is going viral across socials with posts on Hollywood Unlocked, The Neighborhood Talk and more! Focus track off the album “Miranda” was inspired by Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash and Beyonce, with those influences also being seen in the music video for “Miranda”. Bad Girl Bible, Vol 1 is already receiving rave reviews from press with, American Songwriter describing Roberts debut album as “songwriter salvation”.Coinciding with the release of her debut album Reyna is being featured on billboards in Nashville and in New York City where she has been in town for New York Fashion Week attending shows. On Saturday Reyna made her debut at New York Fashion Week walking in the Utierre fashion show at the Dreamland After Dark show at Sony Hall. The fiery singer-songwriter has also recently partnered with The General Insurance, Amazon Prime, Grammy Museum, CMT, CMA, Amazon Music, Bud Light, Tennessee Titans, Stella Rosa, NASCAR and more! When asked about the release of her debut album Bad Girl Bible, Vol 1, Reyna said, “Bad Girl Bible, Vol. 1 is the first half of my debut double album. This is my story of being in love, on the run, my journey through Hell, and ultimately God's salvation. I'm excited about this debut album because people will get to see a full picture of who I truly am. I'm a writer on every song and I also co-produced many of the songs as well, because I had a specific vision for each one- that also included detailed visuals. I spent countless days and nights going over every detail for this album. My goal was to make sure there was personality and character throughout the entire project, so the audience can experience my journey on every level. This album is the truest reflection of my sound as an artist. Even though you hear some country trap and country pop early on. You feel like you're on the run with me, and my sound becomes more outlaw country the darker the journey becomes. This is my Old Testament.”Roberts continues blazing a trail toward success, receiving high praise from the industry and her peers. Roberts has opened for Reba McEntire, toured with country artist Jamey Johnson, and has performed with Luke Combs.
