Joined by special guest, Russ from the Infectious Groove Music Podcast/YouTube channel, we jump back into our WWE 30 Year Time Machine series to pick up where the '93 King of the Ring PPV leaves off with the infamously terrible WWF SUMMERSLAM 1993 from Auburn Hills, Michigan. On paper, the matches seemed like they would be great, but everybody seems to phone it in all night. Up to and including its very lackluster main event, this PPV felt more like a glorified house show/TV episode of Monday Night RAW, but is it truly the worst SummerSlam of all time? ris & David are joined by Tyler Gignac, our Patron who requested this week's show, and little did he know it would end up needing two files to be safe, as we discuss the week-plus that was June 21-29, 2001. Tyler joins us for the first half, where discusses all the happenings in the World Wrestling Federation, their planned version of World Championship Wrestling, and their developmental program, which is in upheaval. We talk about a very newsworthy King of the Ring PPV featuring Kurt Angle going to war with Shane McMahon and Booker T making quite the first impression on Steve Austin, Raw & Smackdown featuring more buildup for the WCW invasion, the insanity of the DDP-Undertaker feud, the debut of Tough Enough, Chyna's excommunication from the company, the quarterly report, and so much more. Then we move on to the WWF's version of WCW and the planning that was going into making that a reality, with the former Turner property getting Raw on TNN, plus lots more talent news. Then we talk about the huge changes in developmental, as they cut ties with Memphis Championship Wrestling and go with Les Thatcher's Heartland Wrestling Association, including all of the the ramifications of that move. This is loaded show, so listen now and don't miss part two for everything else, including a big announcement!!!! This week on the show we cover a ton of ground in our ongoing 1997 WWF coverage. We are coming off the heels of the King of the Ring PPV. Farooq has fired everyone in the Nation of Domination except D'Lo Brown, and Mankind has slapped the Mandible Claw on good ole JR (such good shit). We also take a look at the recent list of folks that the WWE has let go in the last week, some of which were very shocking! There's some good bits of news and a very diverse plate when it comes to the Whatchu Watching?! Segment. We get the standard fare, but sprinkle in some GCW, Dark Side of the Ring and more. Enjoy!
To celebrate our 1 year anniversary of podcasting, we're covering the very first ever WWF King of the Ring PPV from 1993! Kris & David are joined by Charles aka "Loss" from Pro Wrestling Only to discuss the week that was June 27-July 3, 1998. We discuss the powder keg that is Hulk Hogan vs. Kevin Nash backstage in WCW, as well as some great clips including the “ACME Eddie Trap” from Thunder. We go over all the big international stories before Beau James makes a surprise guest appearance in the US Indies section where we talk about Tod Gordon and friends invading NWA New Jersey, Atsushi Onita finally showing up at the ECW Arena, and a wild Power Pro section including Corey Maclin saving the American flag. Charles then rejoins us for the WWF where we rundown the King of the Ring PPV and RAW after it featuring all the backlash from Undertaker/Mankind Hell in a Cell as well as two WWF World Title switches. Jobber Squad: A Pro Wrestler, Character Generator Comedy Show
A pro-wrestler who controls time goes back to every King of the Ring PPV ever and wins. Meet this week's jobber: Time King of the Ring. Also hitting the mat this week is an attempt to bank off the Harry Potter franchise, a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde Mike Pence, and an engineer building battle bots from very specific machines at a Rural King. Jobber Squad is a comedy pro-wrestling podcast. Each week, Jon Moisan and Kristopher Knight take fan submissions for new, gimmicky pro-wrestlers, and develop one for the big time: a chance to be the newest member of Jobber Squad! Follow us on Twitter and Facebook. And give us a review on iTunes if you're enjoying the show.
Host Randy Cruz and Graham Matthews, WWE Featured Columnist for Bleacher Report, discuss Raw & SmackDown from this week, Dean Ambrose on the Stone Cold Podcast, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens teaming up, KO winning the Royal Rumble, King of the Ring PPV coming back, Cruiserweight Classic, NXT: Brooklyn, SummerSlam and more.

ris & David are joined by Tyler Gignac, our Patron who requested this week's show, and little did he know it would end up needing two files to be safe, as we discuss the week-plus that was June 21-29, 2001. This is loaded show, so listen now and don't miss part two for everything else, including a big announcement!!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WWF proper2:29:10 WWF's WCW3:16:00 WWF developmental3:57:54 Patreon Preview: Wade Keller gets a letter from Not Paul HeymanTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron.
