SEASON 2 - EPISODE 27 - Bastion BoogerSome gimmicks are destined to succeed, think The Wyatt Family, The NWO, The Ultimate Warrior...others...not so much! Mike Shaw found this out time and time and time...and time again throughout his some 3 decade career. Beginning in Canada, travelling to Mexico, and having ppv matches for both WCW and WWF, it is fair to say that Mike Shaw mad the most of his wrestling career. Not the most agile of big men, but a big man nonetheless, he would go through some of the most bizarre gimmicks in wrestling, and become famous for one in particular. From Mahkan Singh, to Norm the Lunatic, Friar Ferguson, and final...Bastion Booger! We are here to review and look back fondly at them all as we celebrate Mike Shaw and his amazing contribution to Wrestling! Today we will be looking at some of the odd gimmicks that have come down the pike in professional wrestling. Since the dawn of the sport we've seen some very strange and bizzare characters populate the wrestling industry. Everything from Spaceman Frank Hickey to Bastion Booger to Lazertron and countless others in between have made their way to our sport. We'll put together a panel of experts and discuss some of these odd gimmicks.
In this episode of New Gen on a Mission, Justin Pratt & Tim Slomka talk through the fallout from the King of the Ring! Along the way they discuss the Smoking Gunns, a Bastion Booger debut fail, crazy Tag Team Title changes and, as is tradition, Mr. Fuji.

Der SummerSlam steht an... SummerSlam 1993! In der aktuellen Ausgabe von Straight Wrestling besprechen wir die letzten drei Folgen RAW bevor die größte Party des Sommers 1993 ansteht. Und ja, Bastion Booger ist auch wieder einmal mit von der Party. Hört rein!
In this action packed episode 3 we examine a man reduced from mountain to maniac, from holy man to booger, the legendary Mike Shaw. From high heights in Canada's Stampede and NWA All-Star wrestling to comical lows in the WCW and WWF, we chronicle this walking compendium of gimmicks that time has largely forgotten. Following multiple successful championship runs in Canada, his repackaging in America began with a comedy act centering around him being a vulgar friar and ending with him cast as Bastion Booger, a persona reportedly engineered to be a punishment from WWF creative, transforming him into a repulsive mess clad in a grey, strappy diaper. The indignities endured by this seven-time champion made him a perfect subject for our humble platform which allows us to, in our own little way, give Mike Shaw the final main eventer push he was so unfairly denied. We also bring you white-hot jobber headlines in our very first news segment! Fresh from the absolute whirlwind of impropriety that is the current political climate, a wrestler that we were considering for a jobber spotlight ends up entangled in not only financial intrigue, but extraterrestrial exploration!

Professional wrestlers are known by their monikers. In fact, some are serious, while others are downright goofy. This contrast is represented by a serious moniker like "The Undertaker," or goofy like "Bastion Booger". In the Bible, Jesus has a few monikers (more like titles), examples include "Lamb of God," "Son of Man," or "The Lion of Judah". However, there is one that's often over looked: "Snake Crusher". Join us this Sunday for our sermon, "Redeemed: The Snake Crusher," where we'll examine the first Gospel prediction and mention, as we wrap up our series Created, Fallen, Redeemed from the first three chapters of Genesis.
On this weeks episode Mike and Jake delve into Chapter 3 & 4 of the Undertakers Last Ride in part two of this three episode series. In the open rant, Mike loses his mind over Redemption and Raw Underground. This week in the "Gimmick Infringement" segment we discuss Bastion Booger. On today's episode: 10 Bell discusses the infamous Bastion Booger! However, there's more layers to Mike Shaw than his WWF run. Nick, Micah, and Man Scout try to fill you in on a super underrated wrestler, and seemingly pretty cool dude. https://www.patreon.com/10BellPod https://www.10bellpod.com @10BellPod --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/10bellpod/support
Kicking off “Raw So Far 1994,” the boys get double wide and double deep when Joe discusses Yoko’s best work; there are dicks slapping stop signs; Jason’s love of Ludvig Borga is finally brought out; PLUS we’re given the blessings that are Duke “The Dumpster” Droese, TWO “Match of the Year” candidates, and Bastion Booger cohosting. Ryan’s eagle eye spotted the Undertaker where no one else did!
Continuing “Raw So Far 1993,” the boys have another contender for “Match of the Year” right off the bat! We get the 1-2-3 Kid’s mom a new loveseat, a new favorite named Bastion Booger, Tiny Tim’s ukelele, Lex Luger’s bus driver, and Joe saying “choppy choppy yo peepee!” for some reason. Five Banzai drops are one too many!
This week, the Professor jumps into the Hamin Media time machine and travels way back the days of the New Generation in the WWF!!! It's 1993 and the WWF is in a very kid friendly less than PG state of mind lead by a cartoonish cast of characters! On this week's show we hear about the debuting Quebecers, Razor Ramon, Bastion Booger, The million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Adam Bomb and of course the ultimate underdog the 1-2-3 Kid!!! Get your plaid shirt oh, your baby doll dress and your Doc martens! Through on your Nirvana CD and rock on with this week’s Reflection!!!
Blake is a dear friend of Duncan's band and is pretty much the 7th member. He's a multi-instrumentalist from Homerville, GA and obviously a great roaster. We try to celebrate the best of the best here on Awesome Truth, but sometimes you have to embrace the crap. Lucky for us, there's a book fully dedicated to all the garbage pro wrestling has offered us over the years. WrestleCrap has been a staple of pro wrestling since the internet came to be, documenting the worst offenses of WWF, WCW, Vince McMahon, and Eric Bischoff, but does its short, snarky style lend itself to book form? On today's episode, we get out our shovels and start digging through the Shockmaster, the Doomsday Cage match, Bastion Booger, Mantaur, Hillbilly Jim, and all the rest of pro wrestling's most famously awful angles, matches, and gimmicks.
