Rey Misterio gets darted head first into the side of a trailer while the Macho Man clings to the top of the limo as it pulls away.  I'll go back and share IN DETAIL all of my memories and emotions from "1996 teenage me" from when this angle first went down. One of the few segments/angles that sticks with me today that allows me to have total recall of my thoughts/feelings of the time! It triggered a lot of memories and I share them with you! WCW faces and heels unite to check on their downed friends and team mates as they're stretchered into ambulances I'll talk fans at home calling 9-1-1 after the insane display of bodies laying all around the Disney MGM lot. What were the ramifications of this "real feel" angle? Jimmy Hart playing "Paul Revere" Glacier.... still coming. I think Bobby Heenan walks off set for fear of his safety STEINER BROTHERS VS. The not ready for Primetime HIGH VOLTAGE EDDY GUERRERO TAKES ON BIG BUBBA, NO TRUBBA THE VERY FIRST NWO VIGNETTE AIRS, GROUNDBREAKING PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY changes the way a wrestling promo can be done! Jimmy Hart yanks Lex Luger from the Chicago Street Fight at Uncensored! The newly crowned TV Champion Lex Luger battles Alex Wright, and Eric Bischoff has a field day trashing Johnny B. Badd In the most overbooked segment in Nitro history (up to this point anyway).... It's 6-Man action with Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, and the Booty Man battling Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and Kevin Sullivan in a Lumberjack Double Strap Match... Not only do the Lumberjacks have straps, but so do the wrestlers in this Tornado style tag match of complete shlock... Plus, dissension in the Dungeon of Doom when the Giant and Loch Ness go at it... And for some reason, this is a perfect setting for Kimberly to court the Booty Man, complete with flowers. Post-match promo with Flair, Anderson, and Sullivan as they hype the Doomsday Cage Match at Uncensored.  Arn Anderson with the shoot comment of the night "Nothing here tonight even vaguely resembled wrestling"... You ain't kidding, Arn! WWF NEWS (01:21:24) A young fella by the name of Dwayne Johnson gets a WWF tryout match! The Ringmaster becomes "Stone Cold" Steve Austin! Hakushi is gone, and good for him! WWF Monday Night Raw 3/11/96 (01:22:33) Savio Vega takes on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in what begins their feud to WrestleMania XII The WWF backs weightlifter Mark Henry for the 1996 Olympics. Henry teaches Jerry Lawler a lesson in respect Vince McMahon interviews both Goldust AND Roddy Piper, in the same ring... at the same time! How much of the Bizarre One can the Hot Rod take when Goldy invites Piper to COME into his "BACKLOT". Oh my! The Godwinns in a squash match as Phineas has another "spell" Shawn Michaels returns home to San Antonio to train with mentor Jose Lothario for the WrestleMania main event Bret Hart returns home to Calgary to train for WrestleMania as well. Fatu busts out the Diamond Cutter as he takes on the Brooklyn Brawler Bob Backlund attacks a poor sound guy. We find out who has accepted Owen Hart's Open Challenge for IYH! IC Champion Razor Ramon defends against Dean Douglas. Listen as Steve creates excuses at every corner for the underperforming “RanchFries” Shane Douglas. Brother Love returns this week with guest KING MABEL. Love has a special surprise for the Kiiiing. The Raw Bowl is coming! Marty Jannetty battles Sycho Sid in the main event with appearances from the 1-2-3 Kid and Razor Ramon. A special tag team appearance by the USWA Tag Team Champions PG-13! HHH vs. Barry Horowitz in a fun TV match. Plus, the fans "vote" on the OJ Simpson Trial. Is he guilty? Or better yet, how obvious of a 900 number scam is this? For Shame WWF. WCW Monday Nitro 10/9/95 We're in Mongo country this week, the wrestling town of Chicago! RIc Flair takes on Arn Anderson INSIDE A STEEL CAGE!!! The suicidal Sabu returns to take on the masked Mr. JL (Jerry Lynn), of that clever WCW creative. U.S. Heavyweight Champion Sting must overcome a SHARK ATTACK!!! After surviving a SHARK ATTACK, Sting tries to squash the heat between his buddies The Macho Man and Lex Luger. Chris Benoit returns to WCW in a new vignette.  DISCLAIMER: At this point in the show, both Ray and Steve give their brief thoughts on the entire Benoit situation and how they will be addressing Benoit as we continue this trip through the Monday Night War. Hulk Hogan fades to black Big Bubba vs. Road Warrior Hawk Plus shenanigans involving that pesky Disco Inferno and Hawk WWF Monday Night Raw 10/9/95 With the recent hiring of new booker "Cowboy" Bill Watts, the WWF takes a new direction involving a wild, yet realistic heel beat down of several of the top babyfaces in the company. Truly an epic and underrated angle that has been forgotten in time due to the era it took place in.  First the match, Diesel, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker vs. Yokozuna, The British Bulldog, and Owen Hart Then comes the aftermath... Following the match, Yoko, Bulldog, and Owen, along with King Mabel and Dean Douglas proceed to take out all three of the babyfaces in never before seen fashion on a WWF program. Yoko and Mabel crippling the Undertaker and sending him off TV until the Survivor Series. Laying Shawn Michaels out on the floor with the help of the steel steps. And the current #1 challenger to the Heavyweight Titles, the British Bulldog lays Diesel out in the ring. The angle continues throughout the entire course of the show, as we relive highlights and get interviews, and attempted interviews, with those involved. Bonus action with Fatu trying to "Make a Difference" this week against Bodydonna Skip. And just as quickly as he arrived, new booker Bill Watts QUITS the WWF after gifting us a new attitude WWF. Can Vince and company continue to steer the Cowboy's ship, or will the WWF wind up right back where it was?
