Send us a textAre psychedelics a missing key to personal transformation in midlife? This week, I speak with Rob Grover and Gary Logan, the founders of The Journeymen Collective, a luxury guided psilocybin retreat company based in the mountains outside Vancouver, BC. These two have helped entrepreneurs, performers, couples—and yes, many women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and midlife transitions—use guided mushroom journeys to reconnect to themselves and release emotional burdens that therapy, medication, or self-help books haven't resolved. We talk grief, depression, anxiety, the inner critic, and how to tap into the body's sacred intelligence when everything feels disconnected. Rob and Gary explain the difference between “tripping” and undergoing a true guided journey, and why that distinction matters so deeply for healing and growth.Highlights: “Most people who find us have done the therapy, read the books, tried the biohacking—and still feel stuck.”– Rob Grover“This isn't about escaping—it's about meeting yourself more deeply than ever before.” – Gary LoganHow grief led both Rob and Gary to their first journeys with magic mushrooms—and why it changed everything. Why psilocybin is not a shortcut or magic bullet, but a profound reset for the nervous system. The science, spirituality, and deep preparation that goes into their luxury retreats. Why talk therapy for 10 years often gets outpaced by 4 days of immersive guided work.A frank and beautiful discussion about anger, sadness, menopause symptoms—and how they're often calls to listen to the body, not suppress it.Links + resources:Learn more: The Journeymen CollectiveFollow Rob and Gary on Instagram and LinkedInMentioned: Red School: Menstruality EducationResearch: MAPS – Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic StudiesUse code HOTFLASH20 for 20% off at MenoLabs.comEpisode sponsor: Thanks to Menolabs for sponsoring this episode. How's it growing folks?! Welcome to a psychedelic episode of Here Weed Go! I'm your host Eddie Celaya, cannabis reporter for TucsonMarijuanaGuide.com! Before we trip out on today's main interview topic, I wanna remind you all to sign up for the Here Weed Go! newsletter and to like, follow and subscribe to all of the Here Weed Go! social media pages, like Facebook and Instagram. I've added links to all of those different ways to consume Here Weed Go! content in this episode's description, which you can find wherever you stream or download Here Weed Go! Now, for today's episode, we're leaving the weed at home (unless you really need it) to venture up north to British Colombia, where I chat a little about psychedelics with some new friends of mine. See, I like to travel, and many times on my travels, I like to take trips. No, not short day-trips in a car to Sedona or Bisbee (although that can also be involved in one of these "trips"). No, instead I mean I like to take some magic mushrooms or other substances that help alter my mind during my vacations. It's a good way for me to reset and refocus, especially now with a career and future that are seemingly always in flux and ultimately, always on the line. But sometimes, I wish there was a guide when partaking with 'shrooms. Unlike cannabis, which for me is always very soothing and almost numbing to the senses, psychedelics like psilocybin and LSD can be absolutely overwhelming in both an overstimulating and under-stimulating way, depending on the experience, dosage, etc. To find out more about what a purposefully sought out psychedelic experience can be like, I reached out to the creators of The Journeymen Collective, a personalized plant-medicine based retreat and follow-up experience founded by partners Rob Grover and Gary Logan. In our conversation, we look into the reasons why more and more people are seeking out plant-based medicine retreats based in marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, or other psychedelics, what sort of clientele are coming to the Journeymen Collective, and what feedback the pair has received from past retreat goers. It's a wide ranging conversation that begins with the personal: Rob and Gary recounting their first experiences with mushrooms and the very beginnings of their love story. Since then, they have hosted CEOs, entrepreneurs, and executives invested in experiencing a high level of self-discovery through psychedelic plant based medicine. In 2021 the partners purchased a new absolutely incredible estate outside Vancouver in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. This breathtaking boutique luxury retreat center offers visitors a modern and lush environment to be immersed in during their stay and it is surrounded by stunning mountain views. Calling their current location the Journey Education & Discovery Institute, it is a posh 7,000 square foot estate set on 1 acre with 4 guest bedrooms and saltwater pools. Travelers are cared for in an extraordinarily personalized experience by Rob & Gary. The pair have a combined 50+ years of education in spiritual and metaphysical training, including executive level mindset coaching, energetic healing modalities, Alexander Technique lessons, and decades of customer service. An intuitive chef is on premise to prepare vegetarian cuisine to achieve full restoration of the whole being. The psilocybin journeys are carefully curated for solo, power partner (two people), or small groups of 3 to 4 and include 2 deeply intensive mushroom ceremonies with 2 days of restful integration. They also offer their international clientele 4 months of support with calls to prepare before and afterwards, and honor their guests' highest potential by creating a safe space in a luxurious environment that leads to an ultra high quality experiential discovery process. Rob and Gary believe that when plant medicine psychedelics are facilitated in a respectful and responsible manner with a professional attitude that leans toward reverence, one can garner greater awareness of their true self, and translate that energy into an applied learning. The individuals enrolling in their transformational retreats often cite the journey as having a profound effect on their personal and professional lives, even accelerating their success and intentions to create a conscious impact in the world. ◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️ Guest's Links Mentioned: WEBSITE: https://www.thejourneymencollective.com/ INSTA: https://www.instagram.com/thejourneymencollective/ ◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️ Listen to Witchy Wellness Radio Podcast: YouTube | https://www.youtube.com/@lorencellentani iTunes | https://tinyurl.com/2e4nec5z Spotify | https://tinyurl.com/a4wxrfyb Stitcher | https://tinyurl.com/5n7nvnyp IHeartRadio | https://tinyurl.com/yc53c5rh Google Podcasts | https://tinyurl.com/3ycceamw ◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️ ⬇️ More stuff you should check out ⬇️ **FREE EBOOK: GET CALM & GAIN CLARITY** https://tinyurl.com/gcgcebook **20% OFF MY TRUSTED CBD BRAND WITH CODE “WITCHY”**: https://evohemp.com/ **FREE QUIZ TO USE YOUR ANXIETY TO MANIFEST YOUR DREAMS!** https://www.anxiousquiz.com/ ◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️ SAY HI ON SOCIAL: Website: https://lorencellentani.com/ Loren's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lorencellentani/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@lorencellentani

Welcome to this episode of The Tonic, terrestrially broadcast on May 6 and 7, 2023 on AM740 and FM 96.7 in Toronto. Topics covered on the show track the lifestyle articles and themes published in Tonic Magazine. This week we'll discuss the proper way to do a Spring cleanse with Dr. Kaitlyn Richardson ND, the connection between gratitude and wellness with holistic health expert Maxine McLean, vegetable forward cooking with cookbook author Jeanine Donofrio and "Magic Mushroom" retreats with tour leaders Rob Grover and Gary Logan
Rob Grover and Gary Logan believe that when psychedelics are facilitated in a professional manner, they can improve our mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. The two feel that magic mushrooms should be treated with reverence and respect as a plant medicine that can clear away our old energy and help us move past trauma we've been holding onto in our lives. They noted psilocybin has been used by humans for thousands of years in a ceremonial way to open up awareness and perception. It's very much a journey not a weekend trip for guests as part of the program for The Journeymen Collective involves weekly preparation calls in the month leading up to the in person retreat and ongoing integration support following it.
