I LOVED this interview with Samara Stone of Full Grown. I listened to the episode again and got energized y'all. You want to share this one far and wide for sure. Samara Stone is the owner and founder of Full Grown, a lifestyle brand for grown women who are ready to imagine, create and boldly live a life of their own design. An HBCU grad hailing from sunny California (and currently residing in Baltimore), Samara believes we all have the power to manifest the life we truly desire—even if it means trashing the [life] template society believes we all should follow. Getting her entrepreneurial start in 2005 when she opened her private mental health practice, Samara has since launched several programs [and brands] to help mental health entrepreneurs gain the clarity and confidence they need to fully embrace their expertise and build businesses that allow them to position themselves as the experts they truly are. In addition to her work as a mental health professional, she's also had the opportunity to pour into other organizations as a consultant, speaker, coach and facilitator. Through her journey [and work] she has learned what it means to be brave, trust herself and build in such a way that is authentic to who she truly is at the core. While Samara's career started in the mental health space, she experienced a major life transition at the age of 44 that would empower her to shift her attention [and intention] to older black women in the world living mediocre and unfulfilling lives. Tapping back into her beginning days, Samara realized she's always had a love and passion for black women—and that's how Full Grown was born. Today, Samara is on a mission to help middle-aged black women age boldly through community, self-discovery, and a sense of adventurous risk taking. In her free time you can catch her mothering her 3 children, traveling, enjoying new adventures and loving up on her “honey”. In the words of Samara, “we are more than mothers, we are more than wives, we are women—so let's live life boldly”. In this episode, admonishment is given for those struggling to maintain a healthy appetite for intimacy, after confronting sexual child abuse. As one of the untold side effects of early childhood sexual abuse, sensuality often plays the scapegoat to fear - with the hope that ignoring your divine physical body, will numb your lingering energetic trauma. In actuality, it makes it worse. I introduce "Homemade Acapella EP, Nikki Boom Boom, I Got You" highlighting the debut Single, #LinkInBio, a conversation of the mature holy woman, asking the right questions, setting her boundaries, and expressing her desires - to the man she wants. The Sensual Woman: Women Claim Sexual SovereigntyIn a society that benefits from your self-doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act. Hamash AlidinaSaida Désilets, Ph.D. A thought-leader and speaker on the growing edge of researching ways women can use their minds, bodies, and spirits to create richer lives through their sensual selves, Saida serves as a guide to women who believe in transformation as a lifelong path of learning, discovery and walk to freedom - and rediscovery of the sensual woman within. Her narrative starts in painful circumstances. It was a violent rape that nearly cost Saida Désilets her life that put her on this path. Self-described as a “street-savvy, equipped with feisty farm-girl strength and the grace of a dancer,” she was by no means naïve. In fact, this French Canadian native was raised on a First Nation's reservation in Manitoba where sexual abuse of children, teens, and young women was common. Her Unexpected TragedyYet, despite seeing these open transgressions, she never expected to be so violently attacked by a man she was actually dating. The shocking violation left her in such excruciating physical and emotional pain and damage that, upon waking up after emergency surgery, she was told she had only two weeks to live. Consider this - you don't have to experience rape, sexual trauma, or specific disrespect to learn from Dr. Désilets. This very interesting interview addresses the evolution of women thinking about their own strengths and more private issues with sexuality - their own sexual reawakening. *Photo by https://unsplash.com/photos/pNMH4SDf8us?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText (Matthew Henry) on https://unsplash.com/search/photos/girl-suitcase?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText (Unsplash) ------------- Website, Book & Video CommentariesWebsite: http://saidadesilets.com/ (http://saidadesilets.com/) - There she offers a free video training series: The Three Myths That Are Killing Your Pleasure - And What To Do About It. http://geni.us/desilets (Emergence of the Sensual Woman - Awakening Our Erotic Innocence,) 2013 - Desilets - Global Amazon Link --------- Additional CBJ Experts Weigh In Women's Issues, NarcissismDenial & Self Deception - http://corebrainjournal.com/198 (http://corebrainjournal.com/198) - Warren Mental Toughness for Women Leaders - http://corebrainjournal.com/193 (http://corebrainjournal.com/193) - Quy Women In Danger - Domestic Abuse - http://corebrainjournal.com/195 (http://corebrainjournal.com/195) - Brenna ART - Accelerated Resolution Therapy - http://corebrainjournal.com/201 (http://corebrainjournal.com/201) - Kip ---------- Forward This Audio Message Link To a Friendhttp://corebrainjournal.com/204 (http://corebrainjournal.com/204) ---------ThanksThanks, Saida, for joining us here at CBJ to review your evolved understanding of and for women, their sexual awakening or reawakening, and for their living fully as a sensual woman in recovery. We spread out for 5 hours as we bring early 60's comedy and sex together, including some extensive ramblings by Lenny Bruce, Helen Gurley Brown (“Sex And The Single Girl”) addressing a live audience in '64, all but the forbidden words from “The Sensual Woman,” and a lot of “Sex Dirt” from The Weatherman. Though completely cleaned up for the FCC, it all has a nice, risky broadcast feel to it. Plus the usual UFO's and music from the era. 5 Hours The post Over the Edge – “Universe” Part 14 What About The 60's? D” appeared first on KPFA.
