It's January 15, 1978. Kathy Kleiner is a student at Florida State University and is asleep in her room at the Chi Omega sorority house. Unbeknownst to her, a serial killer named Ted Bundy has discovered the sorority house's back door is accessible—the lock is broken. That night, he broke into the house, murdered two of her sorority sisters, savagely injured Kathy and her roommate, and changed so many lives forever. Today, Kathy gets to tell her story. It is harrowing and terrifying, and please be forewarned that this conversation contains graphic descriptions of violence that is very difficult to listen to. Bundy was ultimately convicted of murder in Florida and executed by electrocution on January 24, 1989; his total victim count is unknown, but it numbers over 30 women across seven states from 1974 to 1978. Kathy is the first confirmed survivor of his to write a book, and it is a beautiful one, though the subject matter is ugly. As Kathy put it, she didn't just want to survive—she wanted to live. And that she has. This book is her offering to honor Bundy's victims who never got the chance to tell their story. One of the most, if not the most, powerful conversations I've ever had. A Light in the Dark: Surviving More Than Ted Bundy by Kathy Kleiner Rubin
Confirmed survivor of serial killer Ted Bundy and author of ‘A Light In The Dark: Surviving More than Ted Bundy,' Kathy Kleiner Rubin, discusses her harrowing escape from Bundy and her book about overcoming the encounter.

What do you think of when you think of what a serial killer would be like? Most of us think of an unattractive monster. Ted Bundy was opposite of that. He was smart, articulate and handsome. But on the inside was a man of deep demonic depravity.
This is the first Ann Rule book I've read and if you have interest in the Ted Bundy case, then The Stranger Beside Me comes highly recommended. Over and above the recent documentaries and films at that. I'll be reading more Ann Rule, that's for sure! It may go without saying, but this episode contains mention of his deplorable acts although I do focus on the book and why I liked it so much. #TedBundy #AnnRule #truecrime Books mentioned: The Stranger Beside Me - https://amzn.to/3uzhwxh The Killer Across the Table - https://amzn.to/3c0QwR6 The Last Book on the Left - https://amzn.to/3vtUych Understanding Necrophilia - https://amzn.to/3p4TDgc Theodore Robert Bundy was an American serial killer who kidnapped, raped, and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s and possibly earlier. Today we are talking about the very popular and well know serial killer named Ted BUNDY.
In this week’s episode, Grace and Olivia, discuss the murders of the serial killer, Ted Bundy. During the late 1970s, he managed to kill 30 women, across seven states and escaped prison twice. He would lure his victims out to his car whereafter he would strangle them to death. Despite all this, he managed to get married whilst on trial for said murders and was even sent fan mail! Rejoining the duo is @ashleyc305
Serial Killer Ted Bundy Kenneth Allen McDuff ranks among the most heartless and sadistic serial killers in American history. But what creates the McDuff's and Ted Bundy's of this world? Head over to podcorn.com right now, to begin monetising your podcast*** The term ‘serial killer’ didn’t exist in the 1970s, and It wasn’t until the mid to late 70s that the term serial killer came into existence, founded by Robert Ressler, an FBI agent with the Behavioural Analysis Unit. Despite the term not being used massively and only just coming into recognition in the 70s, that doesn’t mean to say that there weren’t lots of active serial killers in the 70s. Charles Manson formed the Manson family in 1967 and was convicted in 1971, the Son of Sam was active between 1976 and 1977, the Hillside Strangler was active between 1977 and 1978, John Wayne Gacy who is also known as the killer clown was active 1972-1978 and then we have Ted Bundy, who was active between 1974-1978. Blue-Eyed Serial Killer: Ted Bundy’s Real Story Wavy brown hair, big charming smile and overall nice guy demeanor, those who knew Ted Bundy thought it was impossible for him to hurt a fly. But behind this façade hid a depraved, sadistic and terrifying killer. “Our son is the best son in the world!” With a shaky voice, Eleanor Cowell proclaimed those words when she was interviewed about her son Ted, in the 80s. Twenty-two and unmarried, she gave birth to a baby boy at the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers in Burlington, Vermont on November 24th,1946. Days later she went home, leaving the boy in the facility. But her father, Samuel picked up the infant shortly after and took him home. Both Samuel and his wife, Eleanor were devout Methodists and were ashamed of having their daughter impregnated out of wedlock. To hide the shame, they officially adopted, Theodore Robert Cowell and The boy grew up believing his grandparents were his parents and his true mother, as his sister.
