We will be on sacred land, sovereign tribal land, protected and held as we sit with sacred medicine.Bufo Alvarius, the Sonoran Desert Toad, contains Bufotein and 5-MeO-DMT, two powerful psychedelics that, when smoked, send you on a journey to the heart of the cosmos. The Terpenes and Testing Podcast with Dr. Jason Lupoi, Editor in Chief
On this episode, Dr. Lupoi speaks with David Heldreth, CEO and co-founder of Panacea Plant Sciences. Their discussion canvases topics like the migration to alternative, sustainable sources of psychedelics instead of disrupting the ecosystems of sources like the Sonoran Desert Toad; and the importance of giving back to indigenous populations who have used some of these psychedelics for millennia (the Nagoya Protocol).
This episode is a reminiscence…something I seem to be doing a lot of lately…and also a plea for getting our children and grandchildren out of doors, be it a back yard or out to the desert. The photos are mine. The Boy’s Book of Frogs, Toads and Salamanders came out in 1957. I got it as a present when I was 9 or 10. The duded up Sonoran Desert Toad was the logo of the country band The Dusty Chaps.
Two Eclipses, a Crystalline Convergence, some serious inner work, a deep energy cleansing, and a chance to sit once again with the medicine of the Sonoran Desert Toad has helped to slam shut this chapter and rocket boost into a new one. It's been a wyrd couple of weeks, filled with a lot of visions and revelations, so now it's time to anchor it all in by speaking it as truth. What is a vision if it is not shared? What is a revelation if we don't descend from the mountain and speak it to our community? Even with so many signs and messages, it has been hard for me to step into my power as a Wayshower, a New Earth Leader, but there is no more waiting...no more hiding in the shadows. The Cryst/Christ/Kryst is returning as each and every one of us. The Christ energy is for each of us to tap into, and I make my commitment to do my very best at channeling these new teachings and messages. I am here to honor my soul work as a wayshower and guide. Tonight I am joined by Naturalist Robert Villa. In recent decades a phenomenon has developed around the Sonoran Desert Toad (AKA the Colorado River Toad) and the recreational use of its toxins for psychedelic purposes. There is however, a great deal of misinformation out there regarding the topic. So to set the record straight I am joined by Robert Villa. Robert dispels many of the common myths associated with the species and we discuss how exploitation for its unique toxins is affecting its survival. We also discuss how the psychedelic phenomenon started (Hint- it's not how many of you think it started).Robert is a naturalist and the president of the Tuscan Herp Society. He also has an intimate understanding of the Sonoran Desert Toad and has been a source of factual information for many publications including the New York Times. For more information visit: https://tucsonherpsociety.org/If you'd like to support the show, consider becoming a Patron and visit: https://www.patreon.com/AmphibicastFor listener discounts on In Situ Ecosystem vivariums click: https://insituecosystems.com/?ref=amphibicastFor Amphibicast Gear visit: https://the-amphibicast-store.creator-spring.com/
The Psychedelic Entrepreneur - Medicine for These Times with Beth Weinstein
Joël Brierre is the Founder and CEO of the psychedelic wellness companies Kaivalya Kollectiv and Tandava Retreats. Joël has been a pioneer in the modern psychedelic movement, specifically in the realm of 5-MeO-DMT and the Bufo Alvarius toad. His unique approach of applying classical non-dual yogic philosophy as geography for both preparation and integration from the entheogenic experience gained attention around the world at the first WBAC (World Bufo Alvarius Congress) and continues to shift the landscape of psychedelic use.Joël works specifically in the retreat setting and with over a decade of experience, has curated a container that is meant to facilitate lasting change. Drawing from a combination of eastern, as well as neurofeedback, and other contemporary western integrative practices, these retreats give participants a space to safely unfold, address trauma, undergo cathartic release, and have the support system to hold them through the whole process. With a heavy focus on integration and aftercare, participants are able to create lasting change and find deeper states of peace than they thought conceivable.Joël and his team at Tandava are raising the bar for psychedelic and wellness retreats, with a flagship center in Tepoztlan, Mexico, a larger center opening Q2 of 2022 in Costa Rica, and group retreats in Jamaica. Retreats are led by top notch teachers and facilitators with extensive experience. Safety is the number one priority, followed closely by a warm and welcoming container that is both nurturing and expansive. In this episode, Joël Brierre and Beth Weinstein discuss …How through his intensive study of yoga Joël recognized the same non-dual state that can be catalyzed by a “full release” experience of 5-MeO-DMTThe ineffability of the 5-MeO-DMT experience and how it can only be accessed with the dissolution of your brain's Default Mode NetworkThe need for a willingness to surrender and the experience of “dying before you die”The powerful opportunity you have to observe your patterns as your mind comes back online after a 5-MeO-DMT experienceUsing the model of the “Hero's Journey” as a framework for integration of 5-MeO-DMTThe need to have the right screening and supports in place when taking on cases of treatment resistant depression, trauma, and other states of sufferingThe educational platform Joël and his partner, Victoria, are developing (“The Five”) as a resource for both participants and practitionersThe fact that there is no indigenous lineage for this medicine and how this is inspiring facilitators to put dogma aside and focus more unique journey of each clientThe 5-MeO-DMT practitioner training and practitioner refinement courses that will be released soonHow 5-MeO-DMT requires a more intensive integration process than any other psychedelic medicineThe robust preparation and integration process that Tandava offers remotely before andafter their live retreatsUsing neurofeedback as part of the aftercare processThe Western tendency to chase peak states and the importance of truly integrating 5-MeO-DMT experiences rather than impulsively using the medicine repeatedlyWhy this medicine is becoming so popular at this particular time in historyThe benefits of using the synthetic analogue of 5-MeO-DMT instead of the venom of the Sonoran Desert Toad Joël Brierre's Links & Resourceshttps://tandavaretreats.comhttps://kaivalyakollectiv.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/joël-brierre-13691b1b8https://www.instagram.com/joel_the_entheogenic_yogi/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmYxxmu1t2GWZYZV056kWRw

Searching For The Question Live 79A New Dawn Of PsychedelicsWith Octavio Rettig Dr. Octavio Rettig Hinojosa, author of The Toad of Dawn, 5-MeO-DMT and the Rise of Cosmic Consciousness, is a pioneer in the treatment of toad medicine use who has successfully assisted thousands of people in recovering from abusive conditions associated with synthetic drug use, addiction to stimulants as well as other psychological afflictions such as PTS and depression. Otac, the Seri Comcáac word for toad, has been adopted as a term for the gland secretions of Bufo Alvarius, the Sonoran Desert Toad of Mexico. Otac has the capacity to powerfully transform an individual’s mental and physical health, enhancing their wellbeing and perceived reality. Carrying a message of wisdom & empowerment, correctly aministered Otac enables immense benefit to the recipient in a very short amount of time. Octavio, who eradicated his own drug addiction via the assistance of Otac, has recognised an ancient message in the history of indigenous cultures that is pertinent today. Initially serving the Seri people of Sonora as a medic, Octavio developed a relationship of respect with elders and shaman who blessed him with the use of their sacred ancient chants after he reintroduced the tribe to the forgotten medicine of Bufo Alvarius. Since the development in 2011 of a medicinal neoshamanic fusion that includes the traditional chants of Seri origin, the treatment results have been extremely encouraging. Initiated in January of this year by the Abuelo Jose Antonio Bolivar, elder shaman of the Piaroa people of Venezuela, Octavio now carries Yopo medicine as part of his healing service. Derived from Anadenanthrina peregrine and Banisteriopsis caapi, yopo is a snuff that is considered by Piaroa shaman to facilitate vast awareness regarding current and future environmental, social and personal circumstances. This expansive state of consciousness is complimentary to experiences with Otac. Dr Rettig now travels extensively serving these medicines. He regularly attends conferences and shares his findings with other doctors, academics, scientists & ethnobotanists, in particular regarding the immense potential of Otac when carefully administered. By inhaling the vapour of Bufo Alvarius the effect on neural receptors is immediate. The substance goes to the centre of the brain, to the pineal gland and from there expands to all the cells of the body. The primary healing molecule recognised in this process is 5-MeO-DMT. https://octaviorettig.com/ 17th March 20217 PM CET (Bergamo, Rome)2 PM EDT (New York) http://sftq.livehttp://facebook.com/searchingforthequestionhttp://youtube.com/davidorbanhttps://twitter.com/davidorban Music: «allthat» from Bensound.com #livestream #sftql Become a supporter of SFTQL on http://patreon.com/davidorban
Hello everyone and welcome to Episode Thirty Seven! I hope you all remain safe and healthy and hopefully many of you are getting your vaccine doses. Spring is here where I live and I managed to get the intros and outros recorded for this episode despite a trio of chainsaws working on a tree in the neighbor's yard. Tricky timing but done. PATREONERS! Here’s a shout-out to new supporter Tom Eles from Ontario! Tom took the PayPal option and thank you so much good sir. Hopefully we will meet again this year. You can also support the show via one-time contributions via PayPal or Venmo (please contact me via email). This week's guest is Robert Villa from Tucson, Arizona. Robert and I have corresponded over the years, and have never met, so I looked forward to having a nice chat with him, and sure did. Robert is interested in all kinds of different subjects and that makes him interesting as well. We talked about so many different things that it is hard to characterize this show, but at the root of it all is the toad, more specifically the Sonoran Desert Toad, and everything else we discussed is related in some way. During our conversation, Robert and I talked about spotted box turtles (Terrapene nelsoni), and folks, he wrote a great article about them for Medium entitled "Tortuga de la Sierra Madre - My encounter with a cryptic and elusive turtle" and I urge you to check that out. Robert is also the current president of the Tucson Herpetological Society, and it just so happens that the guest speaker for March will be Gary Nabhan, and the topic will be “Traditional Knowledge and Conservation of Reptiles with the Seri People” which is related to some of the things Robert and I talked about, and that’s a Monday March 22nd Zoom meeting, so check it out! And finally, for more information and discussion on possible border species between Mexico and the United States' check out the thread entitled "Possible Country Records for the US" which was created by Don Cascabel on the old Field Herp Forum. Thanks Robert! Such a fun talk. And as always, please keep the comments and suggestions coming, and please take time to rate the show on your podcast platform! The show email is somuchpingle@gmail.com, and there’s also a So Much Pingle group on Facebook, for discussion, comments, feedback, suggestions, herp confessions, Yaqui origin stories, tips for herping better, etc. Cheers! Today I am speaking to a Spiritual Doula, Maria Teresa Chavez. The former Therapeutic Director of Crossroads Ibogaine Treatment Center has gone all in on integration. On the show we talk about her work at Crossroads, which is now closed, and the particular therapeutic qualities of ibogaine (from the west African Tabernanthe iboga plant) and 5-MeO-DMT (from the Sonoran Desert Toad) which were administered at Crossroads in tandem. We discuss Maria's own story of healing including the psychedelic San Pedro cactus and the purgative kambo frog. Most importantly we talk about the healing power of nature and meditation and the profound importance of integration. Maria is a transformational and spiritual doula, a holistic health coach, and an educator with 16 years of expertise in the metaphysical and holistic lifestyle fields. In addition to her work at Crossroads, she is the founder of Sacred Earth Warriors, a transformational healing event and retreat company. Pairing her Peruvian and Venezuelan heritage and background of shamanic plant medicine work, she brings a reverence for the land and aspects of ceremony into all of her offerings. Tricia Eastman is a medicine woman, author, and pioneer in the psychedelic movement. Eastman offers highly curated retreats in countries where use is legal, working with iboga, psilocybin mushrooms, and 5-MeO-DMT. She has been initiated into Bwiti Fang traditions and the Ngonde Missoko tradition, and she facilitated the psychospiritual iboga program for Crossroads Treatment Center in Mexico. She supports projects related to the preservation of the sacred medicines and sacred sites for future generations and working with the ancient wisdom traditions with respect and reverence. In this episode, Tricia discusses the start of her journey into becoming a healer working with psychedelics. At a 5-MeO-DMT retreat, she learned how to love herself, and decided she wanted to lead others on this healing experience. Since 2016 she founded Psychedelic Journeys, which offers guided retreats with a number of medicines. Tricia shares the many ways 5-MeO-DMT can be administered, and how facilitators can support participants during this ceremony. While she does discuss the positive experiences many people have, she speaks frankly about how 5-MeO-DMT can greatly affect others based on their previous experience, both with psychedelics and past trauma. One of Tricia’s passions is promoting sacred and ethical use of 5-MeO-DMT. She discusses how encroaching farming practices and unethical harvesting has impacted the source of 5-MeO-DMT, the Sonoran Desert Toad, and some practices for minimizing harm In this episode: How Tricia got started facilitating 5-Meo-DMT. Some methods facilitators use during a 5-MeO-DMT ceremony. What people may experience during a 5-MeO-DMT ceremony. How 5-MeO-DMT is contraindicated The ethical and environmental impact of 5-MeO-DMT extraction. Quotes: 12:00 "You are in a space of timelessness where your perception of where you are could feel like eons even though it has been seconds." 14:59 "I try not to be a character in the movie. I don't want it to ever be about me, or doing anything, because they are there to do their own healing work. 19:43 "We don't want to set you up in a way that you are going to get in your own experience, and not actually receive whatever the medicine wants to show you." 37:48 "For me, I really feel that it's important that everything is done in a sacred way. That they are done in an ethical thing." 41:14 Everything I do is a very deeply intuitive process of really following and listening, and that's just how you learn when you work in the shamanic traditions. Bufo Alvarius the "Sonoran Desert Toad" has recently become a topic of interest in various media channels. Due to its recent popularity, we have seen how the increasing demand for this substance is bringing up some issues that we address during this conversation. Why some call it Medicine and why Mario clearly states that is is not a Medicine but a tool. What are the best practices that we should be aware of when it comes to choosing the right facilitator? This and much more is covered in this great episode! Links: WBAC World Bufo Alvarius Congress https://www.wbac.info/
Robert is a herpetologist, self -taught, with a wide array of information concerning the Sonoran Desert. I found out about Robert on the Vice show "Hamilton's Pharmacopeia" in the episode about the 5meoDMT containing Sonoran Desert Toad, which was its own entire conversation. I was really enthralled with this one!
How apropos that for the 13th episode of Barbarian Noetics, we welcome such a brilliant emanation of the Divine Feminine to the podcast, the radiant Cora Jenkins. Cora is a curator of folk tales, cultivator of insights, weaver of words and keen examiner of the human psyche. I always love a good Jungian yarn, and Cora doesn't disappoint in this humongous episode of gloriousness. We break a new Barbarian Noetics record for length of temporal threadings, and the time flew right by. Cora and I met on the Big Island of Hawaii, and we talk about living in the jungle in the middle of the sea. We also touch on Cora's experience being in the Puna district of said Big Island just days before the lava from the ever-active Mount Kilauea, home of the volcano Goddess Pele, began flowing through the district. The very lifeblood of Mother Earth! I also delve into memory lane and recount the time I smoked 5-MeO-DMT from the glands of the Sonoran Desert Toad in an abandoned mining town with an off-grid survivalist named Sun Dog. This discussion was a real joy and I am excited to share it with you all, my beloved listeners. Enjoy! And if you like the pod, please hop on over to iTunes and give Barbarian Noetics a 5 star rating- it is the best way you can help the podcast grow and bring more illuminating guests such as Cora into the fray of philosopher-barbarians. Episode 34 of the MAPS Podcast is an all new interview with Tricia Eastman, a pioneer in the psychedelic renaissance. Our conversation takes a look at the inquisitive psychedelic work she does in the deep corners of what's left of the worlds indigenous cultures. Because her work covers the globe I especially wanted to see what wisdom she brings back is applicable to the American experience. Her tales of mind expanding explorations in these cultures is a beautiful juxtaposition against the life we take for granted. Tricia is a fresh yet wise voice in the psychedelic community. I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I did. Intro topics: End of the year podcast with Rick Doblin, advertising on the MAPS podcast and psychedelic therapy career tracts. Tricia Eastman is a pioneer in the psychedelic renaissance. Eastman’s holistic approach incorporates eastern philosophy, bio-hacking, soul retrieval, archetypal mapping, meditation, somatic therapy, shamanism. As a medicine woman, she curates retreats in countries where use is legal working 5-MeO-DMT, from the Sonoran Desert Toad and Iboga. She has been initiated into Bwiti traditions of Mboumba Eyano and trained in the Missoko, as well as facilitated the psychospiritual iboga program for Crossroads Treatment Center in Mexico.

What is DreaMTime consciousness, and how do plants, toads and humans relate to it? Is the planet excreting the unfolding of unity consciousness? Do the Australian cane toads and the Sonoran Desert Toad, literally dream the landscape into being? Can the toads activate endogenous DMT and the visionary state in our own bodies simply via their sonic icaros? What is the difference between ayahuasca and yage, and how does it relate to the various types of tryptamines in nature and our own brain? Can a tribal darkness ritual reset the body and the soul via a tryptamine cascade? Can the toads really be entheogenic caretakers between the land and us humans, and is LOVE really ALL THERE IS? Join experiential journalist Rak Razam and Dr. Octavio Rettig, a Mexican doctor who works with the sacred medicine 5-MeO-DMT found in the Sonoran Desert Toad, the Bufo Alvarius. Rettig has worked with the Seri Tribe of Sonora, Mexico, to help treat methamphetamine addicts, reintroducing the use of the medicine to the local culture that had lost it. He has learned the ancient songs and rites of the Seri, apprenticing to 'Don Pancho', an elder shaman, has been authorised by the council of Seri elders to use this most powerful of shamanic medicines in the West. What is the connection of the Bufo toad to the local environment of Sonora, and why do the toads have the most powerful natural psychoactive in their glands? Why did previous Mesoamerican cultures worship the toad and what shamanic realms does it reveal? How can this medicine be used to initiate people on a spiritual path? What are the dangers? Why is 5-MeO-DMT so powerful, and what exactly does it do? Dr. Rettig's book The Toad of Dawn is forthcoming from Divine Arts. A rollicking interview with James Oroc, author of the Tryptamine Palace: 5-MeO-DMT and the Sonoran Desert Toad. In which experiential journalist Rak Razam delves into the secret history of DMT from Stephen Szara's experiments in the 1950s, William Burroughs (whom Oroc calls the "Godfather of DMT") and his radical break with English language caused by his DMT experiences ("language is a virus") through to the lower language bardos of the DMT realm where the golden code of meaning manifests. Oroc hypotheizes about the relationship between consciousness and language and the Zero Point Field and recognizing oneness within God. Is 5-MeO-DMT a tool to help us experience on the inside what quantum physics explains on the outside – non-local experiences of the "whiteout" or plenum of energy that lies within? Is 5-MeO-DMT specifically designed to be a sacred template or will it become the "next big thing", full circle from the 60s? Oroc and Razam trade maps of the 5-MeO-DMT space and attempt to tranlinguisticize the bardo spaces of the Godhead, and what lies beyond the beyond... An intimate discussion by two pre-eminent psychonauts on the fringes of innerspace for your enlightenment and elucidation...
