Ryan and Dylan give their thoughts on the first MCU movie to release in months, Deadpool & Wolverine.
The hero that loves to eat chimichangas while executing a perfect superhero landing is again knocking at your door! The merc with the mouth himself, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, is back and he's bringing a “friend.” You thought he was dead at the end of “Logan” but the Disney Marvel money was just too sweet and so Hugh Jackman as Wolverine comes back to join our indestructible hero in “Deadpool and Wolverine.” No such resurrection for Marvel will come from this movie alone but the prospect of getting these two all-time fav characters together is exciting. In this third Deadpool movie, our beloved Wham fan has gone limp in life and he's looking for a way to matter again. He's still got the love of all his friends but he there's someone in his life that he wants back and he's willing to do anything. Deadpool soon receives an offer to give him almost exactly what he wants but at a terrible price. Enter Wolverine into the movie when Deadpool learns he's an important part of everything going on in this movie. They don't exactly start out creating their own secret handshake and riding a tandem bicycle. Wolverine, who can count being super anti-social as one one of his superpowers, doesn't want to split a PB&J sandwich with Deadpool, much less help him in his quest. Will Deadpool be able to win Wolverine over? How many Madonna songs will be in the soundtrack? Does Jonathan Majors make a cameo? Is it worth finding out? Check out this episode to maybe find out. “Deadpool and Wolverine” also stars Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfayden, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapicic and Randal Reeder. Send us a Text Message. This week on Fabulous Film & Friends we've jumped on that bandwagon and got a full fledged case of Deadpool-mania!That means we're going to discuss all three of Ryan Reynolds happy little R-rated capers which started in 2016 with Deadpool directed by Tim Miller, starring Ryan Reynolds, TJ Miller Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic, Ed Skrein, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni and Gina Carano. Then continued with 2018's Deadpool 2, directed by David Lietch and starring pretty much the same cast minus Skrein and Carano with the addition of Josh Brolin, Zazie Beets, Julian Dennison, and Rob Delaney. And capped off with the most marketed and hyped movie of my lifetime, 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Mr. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as well as a good portion of the previous supporting cast in cameos along with Matthew MacFadyen and Emma Corrin as villains. I'm Gino Caputi and my solitary guest today is author, hypnotherapist and comic book shop royalty Joe Field. I have to announce that Deadpool & Wolverine raked in 440 million over the July 26th 2024 weekend, the highest opening weekend box office haul for an R rated film ever. Was it Ryan Reynolds' and Hugh Jackman's over-the top marketing strategy of appearing on nearly every talk show and commercial for a month that helped or hurt its box office. Could it have been more if they hadn't seemed so transparently mercenary? Before we get into it, the synopses:Deadpool 1-3 are about Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool. the “Merc with a Mouth” a cynical 4th wall breaking character who makes scores of naughty puns while killing bad guys in over-the-top grotesque CGI enhanced ways. His powers are just like Wolverine's, he's unkillable because he heals and regenerates faster than it takes for his body's functions to shut down due to loss of blood. Or something like that. Hello and welcome back to another episode of B Bin Horror! On this week's episode we talk about the 2023 Comedy/Horror, Slotherhouse. This episode and this movie are both stinkers so listen at your own discretion. Slotherhouse was directed by Matthew Goodhue and stars Lisa Ambalavanar, Sydney Craven, Olivia Rouyre, Bianca Beckles-Rose, Tiff Stevenson and Stefan Kapicic. On this week's episode we talk a little bit about this movie but mostly we talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with it. We also hand out candy to trick r' treaters, which was a lot more enjoyable than watching Slotherhouse. If you like what you hear please follow us on Instagram and Facebook @bbinhorror. As promised, we're watching Deadpool this week. How did this one make the cut, you ask? Well, to quote the man himself: "some of the best love stories start with a murder. And that's exactly what this is, a love story." We're not 100% sure we believe him, but we can confirm that, at the very least, this movie contains some romance and a lot of wickedly dark comedy.Listen in for our thoughts today and find this movie, of all places, on Disney+! Ever been on a bad ocean cruise? I guarantee it wasn't as bad as the voyage in The Last Voyage of The Demeter. You may have heard of the Demeter briefly in other Dracula movies but this movie gives you the full story. The Demeter is the ship that transported Dracula from Romania to England according to Bram Stoker's Dracula novel. In that novel, there is a small section containing the captain's log from the Demeter, telling a story of an evil killing his crew. This movie takes that small section and turns into a 2 hour movie. Corey Hawkins, from Straight Outta Compton and The Walking Dead, plays Dr. Clemens who joins the crew under Captain Eliot, played by Liam Cunningham from Game Of Thrones. Further and further into the voyage, more and more creatures are found dead with bite marks and soon the crew start becoming victims of Dracula. The doctor have to try to fight off the evil might of Dracula with the help of a girl from a Transylvanian village Dracula was keeping as a food source. Is this movie worth saving from the sleep of the undead or should you just put a stake in it's heart? Check out this spoiler-free review to find out. This also stars David Dastmalchian, Aisling Franciosi, Chris Walley, Stefan Kapicic, Jon Jon Briones, Woody Norman, Javier Botet, Martin Furulund, Nikolai Nikolaeff, Graham Turner, Andy Murray, Nicolo Pasetti. This week, as we're still recovering from the wonderful mania that is MCM Comic Con, we're bringing you a treasure trove of interviews from the con, including ‘Deadpool 2’ stars Brianna Hildebrand & Stefan Kapicic, ‘The Walking Dead’ stars Khary Payton & Cooper Andrews, plus the legend that is John DiMaggio, the voice of Futurama's Bender!Khary Payton plays King Ezekiel on the zombie drama, leader of The Kingdom, and (until recently), owner of a pet tiger called Shiva. Along with that, he’s also well known for his voice work which includes a mass of video game characters, from Azrael in the Batman ‘Arkham’ games to Blade in ‘Marvel Heroes’, and characters in ‘Call of Duty’. However, the characters he’s best known for on the animation front are ‘Teen Titans’ hero Cyborg and Aqualad in ‘Young Justice’… A role which helped him first bond with his co-star, as you’ll hear.Cooper Andrews stars as ‘Walking Dead’ fan favourite and sidekick to Ezekiel, the eternally happy, axe-wielding, Jerry. His other work has seen him appear as Yo-Yo in ‘Halt and Catch Fire’, and he’s soon to pop up in the new DC movie ‘Shazam!’Brianna Hildebrand first appeared as the kick-ass Marvel character Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the 2016 film ‘Deadpool’ and she returns to reprise that role in this year’s ‘Deadpool 2’. Her other work includes the web series ‘Annie Undocumented’, Kerem Sanga’s ‘First Girl I Loved’, and the tv series adaptation of ‘The Exorcist’.Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic provides the voice and motion capture for the CGI character of Colossus in ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Deadpool 2’. Stefan has starred in a number of Serbian movies, and popped up on US tv in episodes of ’24’, ‘The Event’ and ‘Counterpart’, and will soon be seen on the upcoming season of ‘Better Call Saul’.Legendary voice actor John DiMaggio has provided vocals for a huge range of animated characters in shows such as 'Ben 10', 'Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures', 'Samurai Jack', 'Rick and Morty', 'Justice League Action' and 'American Dad!' However, the two characters he's probably best known for are Jake in 'Adventure Time', and of course, sociopathic robot Bender in 'Futurama'. He can soon be heard providing voices on Matt Groening's new Netflix show, 'Disenchantment'. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
On this episode of WHM On-Screen, Andrew and Steve sit down to chat about the mega-success that is Deadpool. Throughout the talk, the two give their complaints & grievances with the film, and also mention what they really liked about it. Not shockingly, Steve is knowledgeable and informed about the character and where he comes from, while Andrew is ignorant and doing his best to keep up. PLUS: Lots and lots and lots of X-Men talk. So much so that they watched an X-Men movie right after recording. Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrein, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J. Miller, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Leslie Uggams, and Stefan Kapicic as the voice of the poorly used Colossus; directed by Tim Miller.
Time to Make the Chimi-F#*king-changas So the comic book movie we have all been waiting for has arrived! Deadpool hit theaters on February 12th, marking the second time the Merc with a Mouth has graced the silver screen… but we can forget that first time… When Deapool first appeared in Wolverine: Origins, not has a character EVER been done so wrong. How can you have the character Deadpool, then sew his mouth shut? HOW!?! … actually on second thought, let’s forget that first time… However, from the movie that shall not be named, we did get to see a small glimpse of Ryan Reynolds playing Wade Wilson, bad ass merc, for a brief sceen at the beginning of the movie. That apparently enough for the the Internet (and Reynolds himself). Since then fanboys and fangirls everywhere have been lobbying for a true adaptation of the fan favorite character. Fast forward about seven years and some leaked footage later and we get a new R-Rated Deadpool movie for the adult masses! Director Tim Miller really knocked this movie out of the park, taking a $58 million budget and turning it, as of posting, a $135 million opening weekend. If you are counting that is...
