This episode features co-creators Andrew Koehler and Benjamin Martian of Adult Swim’s Tigtone. They discuss the origins of the show in college, the 15-year journey it took to get on television, and the most ridiculous joke they put into Season 2 (which just premiered on Adult Swim). You’ll also learn: *The unconventional way Tigtone is animated using live-action faces *The underlying motive Benjamin and Andrew had to pursue Tigtone for so long *Their number one piece of advice for aspiring series creators. ~[Sponsored Message]~ This episode is sponsored by Bloop Animation, which is an animation learning platform packed with premium online video courses for aspiring animation filmmakers. They have courses for all major animation programs like Maya, Animate CC, Toon Boom, Blender, TVPaint, and many others, as well as some non-software courses like a storyboarding course, Animation foundations course, and even one about making graphic novels, which covers absolutely everything you need to know from start to finish. The courses are all in video-form, so there’s no deadlines or application process, you simply pick a course and start learning in seconds. In fact, they just released a brand new course teaching how to animate Moho. Moho, formerly known as Anime Studio, is a 2D animation software that's main selling point is its ability to easily build and animate with rigged puppet characters. It’s balance of ease of use and powerful features makes it a popular option for hobbyists, and while it’s not an industry standard yet, it has been used on some major productions such as the Oscar nominated feature films Song of the Sea, and The Breadwinner. The course just came out last week and includes 38 video lessons with over 5 hours of content. Welcome to the latest AFA Podcast interview special. As fantasy-themed adult comedy Tigtone returns to Adult Swim for a second season, AFA's Evan Vernon talks to co-creator Andrew Koehler and voice actor, writer and producer Blake Anderson (best known for his role in live-action series Workaholics and Woke).  They discuss how Tigtone evolved from plans to create a live-action fantasy comedy movie and what to expect from the second season. Tigtone season 2 is airing at 12 Midnight Sundays from September 13. Catch up with season one on adultswim.com. The first season is also available on Adult Swim on All4 in the UK Tigtone returns! With their once idyllic fantasy land now reduced to an idyllic fantasy wasteland, Tigtone the master-questerer and his magically regenerative sidekick Helpy must face all new mischievous monsters, all new enchanted chaos, and all new irresistible quests in their all new baffling adventures! Tigtone is created by Andrew Koehler and Benjamin Martian, who also serve as executive producers with Blake Anderson (Workaholics). The quarter-hour series combines highly rendered, hand-painted fantasy art, motion capture performance, 2D animation, and pseudo-3D visual effects. The wizards at Titmouse, the award-winning animation production company, have ventured into uncharted territory to pioneer this radical new style, creating a Tigtone universe that is beautifully unsettling.

Daydrinking with Gary & Elliot

Episode 10! Chris Prynoski, animation director and co-owner of Titmouse, Inc., the animation studio behind Metalocalypse, Tigtone, The Venture Brothers, Big Mouth, Niko & The Sword of Light, and many more, stops by for a cocktail and brings his own recipe in this very special episode of Daydrinking with Gary & Elliot! This episode's first featured drink by Elliot: Misty's Margarita 1 ½ oz. Milagro Tequila Reposado ½ oz. Cynar ½ oz. fresh-squeezed lime juice ½ oz. fresh-squeezed red grapefruit juice ½ oz. agave syrup 1 dash Dr. Adam Elmegirab’s Spanish Bitters Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until cold. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with a grapefruit twist, first giving it a squeeze to express the grapefruit oils over the top of the drink. (Note: If you don't have Spanish Bitters, you can substitute a dash a Regan’s Orange Bitters, as both make use of citrus peel in their bases.) This episode's second drink by Chris P.: The Hillbilly X-treme! 2oz - cheap well whiskey 8oz - Mountain Dew in a CAN (extra good if you get the old school recipe with sugar instead of corn syrup) 1 squirt - fake lime juice (like the kind that comes in a plastic lime. You could use a real lime, but that would make it classier.) A few ice cubes Some duct tape Open the can of Mountain Dew and pour the contents into a cup or some other container. Saw off the top of the Mountain Dew can or cut it off with scissors. Throw away the top of the can (or recycle it if you can!) Use the duct tape to cover the sharp edge of the can. Go all the way around. You don’t want to get a bleeding lip! Throw a few ice cubes into the can. Pour in the cheap whiskey. Fill up the rest of the can with the Mountain Dew you poured out earlier, add a liberal squirt of lime juice, and give it a quick swirl with your middle finger. Lick off your finger and point it at your favorite authority figure as you slowly sip your drink, staring them directly in the eyes. You have now enjoyed a Hillbilly X-Treme! Fun fact : Mountain Dew was originally invented as a mixer for whiskey. Like the sound of the Misty's Margarita? That recipe and plenty more like it can be found in Elliot's book Create 100 Cocktails, available right now in print on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/1791870589 Also available as an ebook on on Gumroad: https://gum.co/aWfNX

Aaron here -- after taking a week off my wife, her mother, my baby and I all got hit with the flu, we have returned for Episode 119 of Punch Drunk TV. There's a lot we go over in this episode, including the multiple Fyre Festival docs that hit streaming last week. Before we kick things off, Jack's wife JoEllen poses a question to us and you Clinkers: How would you describe The CW? Because they definitely have their own very specific brand going on. NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK: The CW has ordered a musical dramedy spinoff of "Riverdale" titled "Katy Keene." The CW also ordered a "Lost Boys" TV series which will no longer be an anthology series but, as THR says, will be "set in Santa Carla and explores the secret underworld of vampires. After the sudden death of their father, two brothers move to Santa Carla with their mother, who hopes to start anew in the town where she grew up. But the brothers find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the seductive world of Santa Carla's eternally beautiful and youthful undead." "Queer Eye" will go to Tokyo for four episodes in its next season. The special four-episode installment, titled "Queer Eye: We're in Japan!," will premiere on Netflix after Season 3 of the series drops later this year. Netflix is rebooting "Unsolved Mysteries" from the show's original producers. According to THR, "the new series will follow a similar format to its predecessor, which first aired on NBC in the late 1980s. Each of the 12 episodes will focus on a single mystery — the broadcast version had multiple cases per episode — and like the original, will enlist viewers' help in solving each case." Showtime has bought the rights to a four-part docuseries titled, "Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men." The first two episodes will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and then the series will air on the network in the spring. A Fyre Festival-inspired GoFundMe campaign for Bahamian restaurant owner Maryann Rolle has raised more than $100,000 to help her with the debt she went into during the disastrous music event. When Steve Coogan realized he was good at doing impressions, he also realized it was a really good way to get attention. But Steve also knew he had to deliver beyond the impressions if he wanted to get funnier. Steve talks with Marc about that evolution, with some help from "Michael Caine," "Sean Connery," and others. Plus, Steve explains how his new Alan Partridge series will force the beloved presenter to adapt to a changing world, how his new movie Stan and Ollie is really a love story about comedy, and how he became friends with his co-star John C. Reilly much the same way the real Stan and Ollie did. This episode is sponsored by Tigtone on Adult Swim, SimpliSafe and the New York Times Crossword App. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
