Niek Goedvolk bespreekt met Roxane Knetemann en wielerverslaggever Daniël Dwarswaard de koersen van vandaag en de afgelopen week. Van der Poel maakte indruk met twee geweldige ritzeges: is dit de beste versie die we ooit van hem hebben gezien? En hoe komt Tadej Pogacar straks in Milaan-San Remo van de Nederlander af? De Kopgroep kijkt met een vleugje weemoed terug op de laatste Touretappe. We nemen afscheid van een maand lang Frankrijk, maar genoten van opnieuw een dag vol koers. En dat mede dankzij Anna van der Breggen. De ervaren renster -maar Tourdebutant- besloot al vroeg in de aanval te gaan. Mart noemt het een wanhoopspoging, maar Ellen en Jip vinden het tactisch een goede zet. Als je het op kracht niet kunt, dan moet je op de verrassing spelen. Ook lof voor PFP of PauPau die de Fransen een Touroverwinning bezorgd. Maar het feestje bij de cermonie? Dat kan beter. Daarnaast aandacht voor Sarah Gigante. With old grudges and new rivalries playing out on the gravel roads of Tuscany, Strade Bianche offered up plenty to talk about in this month's episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin. Bike racing is back! With the UAE Tour and Volta in the rearview mirror, it's time to jump feet first into what looks to be an epic Classics season that kicked off with Omloop and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. Then, it was off to the rolling white roads of Italy's Chianti region for the Strade Bianche, where the women's race climaxed with a duel between Demi Vollering and Anna van der Breggen up the steep final wall better known as Via Santa Caterina. And if you were watching the men's race and waiting to see if Tadej Pogačar could best last year's 80km solo breakaway for victory, he did exactly that but in a very different way, overcoming what looked like a serious crash to notch up his third Strade victory.  Today's podcast sees Mike Levy chat with Andrew Hood and Jim Cotton about what makes the Classics so special, how Pogačar could win Milano-Sanremo, and why more people need to think like Tom Pidcock.

Geerike Schreurs spent nearly a decade as a WorldTour soigneur, taking care of some of the best riders in the world. Now, she's their teammate. The Dutch rider officially signed to SD Worx-Protime to race a combination of gravel and road this season, and even though she had a breakout season last year and snagged second place at Unbound, she says that this is the first time she's finally feeling like a pro.Payson caught up with Gee in Girona earlier this week to talk about how she made the transition to racing after so many years as a soigneur, what the team got up to during the non-training part of training camp, and her friendship with Anna van der Breggen. We're dragging listeners back to Italy as The Cycling Podcast Féminin tackles the Giro d'Italia Women, which was won in spectacular fashion by Elisa Longo Borghini. Rose Manley is joined by Denny Gray and special guest ex-Olympian Joanna Rowsell to pull out all the biggest headlines from the race. For our mini feature, we use the anticipated return of Anna van der Breggen to the women's peloton as a springboard to find out what it takes to retire from racing and come back. Rose speaks to Ruth Edwards née Winder who retired in the same year as Van der Breggen only to return this season in flying form, already claiming a title in Thüringen and two podium finishes at the Giro. Edwards' breakthrough wasn't the only story of the race as the second Grand Tour of the women's calendar proved to be every bit as thrilling and hard-fought as it had promised. We witnessed the birth of a new rivalry between eventual winner Elisa Longo Borghini and all-round superstar Lotte Kopecky who trailed the Italian by only one second going into the final day.
