We are hitting the road for this month's episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin. Join Rose Manley and Denny Gray in their little Bar Tabac just a stone's throw from the famous Paris Roubaix cobbles. They'll be calling up Rebecca Charlton to collectively cast an eye over this season's early Classics. Talk inevitably turns to SD Worx who have been the most successful of the teams so far, although they certainly haven't had it all their way. Their stars Lotte Kopecky and Lorena Wiebes have managed some mighty solo wins, often without the powerful team support that we've come to expect. Plus we transport our listeners to the pavé of Northern France in our mini feature. Follow along with Rose and Denny in a mad dash to the velodrome as they cover Paris-Roubaix Femmes. Soak up the atmosphere and hear from the likes of Paris-Roubaix debutant Imogen Wolff, former men's champion Magnus Backstedt and former Pédaleuse de Charme Marthe Truyen. We'll also be looking ahead to what is set to be a thrilling Ardennes Classic season with the return of the gripping rivalry between Anna Van der Breggen and Demi Vollering. Also on the agenda: good luck high fives, a mystery butterfly and Denny's got his crystal balls out again.

With old grudges and new rivalries playing out on the gravel roads of Tuscany, Strade Bianche offered up plenty to talk about in this month's episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin. Rose Manley and Denny Gray are joined by cycling broadcaster Rebecca Charlton to discuss all the juicy details, plus they look ahead to the return of Milan-Sanremo with a mini-feature about the race's predecessor, the Primavera Rosa. Ever since Demi Vollering's move to FDJ-Suez and Anna Van der Breggen announced her return to the peloton last year, anticipation of a fierce rivalry between the pair has been rising. After Strade Bianche and their first meeting at Setmana Valenciana, it is fair to say that the match-up has already more than exceeded expectations. Van der Breggen has proven to be the only rider in the peloton capable of matching Vollering for power and tactical nous, although Vollering has thus far always come away with the spoils. Strade Bianche also saw former world champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot take third place, in her first spring Classic since 2018. Plus the race was a welcome showcase for the top riders in the peloton after something of a stalemate at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad which saw a surprise victory for Lotte Claes. In anticipation of the inaugural Milano-Sanremo Donne, we take a look back at the race's precursor – the Primavera Rosa – which ran for seven editions from 1999 until 2005. The race took place on the last 118 kilometres of the men's Milan-Sanremo, on the same day and included the same Poggio and Cipressa climbs and Via Roma finish. We offer up a potted history of those editions and hear some first-hand accounts from people that were there including Marion Clignet, podium finishers Chantal Beltman and Ina Teutenberg, 2005 champion Trixi Worrack and photographer Mario Prato. Also on the agenda, hippopotamus races, bumping into your ex with 30 toilet rolls and the battle of the names: Nienke Vinke vs Lotte Claes. Bike racing is back! With the UAE Tour and Volta in the rearview mirror, it's time to jump feet first into what looks to be an epic Classics season that kicked off with Omloop and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. Then, it was off to the rolling white roads of Italy's Chianti region for the Strade Bianche, where the women's race climaxed with a duel between Demi Vollering and Anna van der Breggen up the steep final wall better known as Via Santa Caterina. And if you were watching the men's race and waiting to see if Tadej Pogačar could best last year's 80km solo breakaway for victory, he did exactly that but in a very different way, overcoming what looked like a serious crash to notch up his third Strade victory. Today's podcast sees Mike Levy chat with Andrew Hood and Jim Cotton about what makes the Classics so special, how Pogačar could win Milano-Sanremo, and why more people need to think like Tom Pidcock.

Peaks Challenge is the talk of the town and the talk of The Domestiques. The team of Hollywood and Matilda conquered the epic climbs of Australia's most gruelling community ride and are joined by Mark O'Brien who set an amazing new course record completing the 235km distance in 6 hours 40 minutes. How did they do it? Hear of the tall tales of triumph, heartbreak and heroics. And Tadej Pogačar does it again after producing another superhuman performance despite spectacularly crashing on the white dusty roads of the Strade Bianche. And the apprentice took on the master in the women's race - Demi Vollering taking on her ex-coach Anna van der Breggen. Whether you're gearing up for Peaks 2026 or just love a good cycling story this episode is a must listen!
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The peloton opened up Classics season with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday and Omloop van het Hageland on Sunday, but the opening race left many pondering the new dynamics of the peloton, and how much impact offseason transfers (both in the peloton and in the cars) had on the race tactics. Then, on Sunday, Anna van der Breggen had us feeling like we'd hopped in a time machine. With Strade Bianche up next, the question is how much impact will Omloop Het Nieuwsblad have on the season, and can teams get their **** together before the next WorldTour one day?

Wegkletsen is terug!
This week the team looks to Valenciana. A small race in Spain? No chance. Anna van der Breggen is back, and with a vengeance. Could Demi Vollering's top step be in danger this season? The crew discuss what Van der Breggen's form shows, how a happy head leads to a fast Marlen Reusser, and how Trek finally opened their account with Elisa Balsamo taking two stages. With the best time of the year (the Classics) just a few weeks away, we also breakdown the start list for the Omloop Het Niewsblad and tag our riders to watch for the cobbled block of racing.
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In the February episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin, Rose Manley, Orla Chennaoui and Jo Rowsell pick over the UAE Tour, a race which often offers up some key insight for the season ahead. Plus we look at some of the junior world champions of the past in our mini feature. There's plenty to discuss from the UAE Tour, as Elisa Longo Borghini took a commanding overall victory while Lorena Wiebes went almost unchallenged as she swept up all three sprint stages. Some other big favourites didn't fare so well though. Pauline Ferrand Prévot has made no secret of her Tour de France Femmes ambitions since her comeback but was noticeably absent among the first finishers on the top of Jebel Hafeet. While the new line-up at FDJ-Suez failed to take home a top ten on any stage. In our mini feature we speak to former and present junior world champions and see how they've fared since hitting the elite ranks. We hear from Lucy Van der Haar nee Garner who retired five years ago, Canyon-SRAM rider Zoe Backstedt, current junior champion Cat Ferguson and Laura Stigger who was scouted by Anna van der Breggen to join SD Worx this year. Geerike Schreurs spent nearly a decade as a WorldTour soigneur, taking care of some of the best riders in the world. Now, she's their teammate. The Dutch rider officially signed to SD Worx-Protime to race a combination of gravel and road this season, and even though she had a breakout season last year and snagged second place at Unbound, she says that this is the first time she's finally feeling like a pro.Payson caught up with Gee in Girona earlier this week to talk about how she made the transition to racing after so many years as a soigneur, what the team got up to during the non-training part of training camp, and her friendship with Anna van der Breggen. She also explains why being a soigneur is more physically challenging than being a pro cyclist, and discusses a gruesome injury she sustained last summer that she's still navigating.Instagram: @theadventurestacheYouTube: Payson McElveen
We're back! In the first episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin of 2025, Rose Manley, Denny Gray and Jo Rowsell are looking ahead to what promises to be an enticing road season. We offer up our 'bold predictions' (thanks Denny!) for the coming months, sparking arguments galore as we work out which count as downright ‘fanciful' and which are seemingly probable. Potential Grand Tour victors, Anna van der Breggen's return and winning opportunities for some young pretenders are all up for debate. Plus we discuss the first Women's World Tour race of the season – the Tour Down Under – and reflect on what it might mean for the rest of the year. Noemi Rüegg was the overall winner in Australia, cementing her champion status after a breakthrough season last year. There were also stage wins for Daniek Hengeveld and Chloe Dygert, and a first peek at some new look teams. Also on the agenda, a present from the stork, showing off to your ex on Instagram and some continued Christmas Quiz seething. It's a bumper transfer special on The Cycling Podcast Féminin this month. In what is proving to be one of the busiest and most significant transfer markets in recent memory, Rose Manley, Denny Gray and Orla Chennaoui discuss all the major moves. With so many of the peloton's biggest champions making the switch, we pick out which transfers excite us and surprise us the most. We'll be discussing the comebacks of former world champions Anna van der Breggen and Pauline Ferrand Prevot in detail as well as looking at the consequences of moves by the likes of Elisa Longo Borghini, Niamh Fisher-Black, Juliette Labous, Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig and of course Demi Vollering. Our mini feature takes us back to the Tour de France Femmes where Rose and Denny explored why the Dutch always dominated the women's road racing scene. We speak to Team SD Worx's Lorena Wiebes and Mischa Bredewold and former pro Iris Slappendel, and get an outside perspective from British riders Lizzie Deignan and Becky Storrie. Also on the agenda, we ask what would your grandma rather eat: a mint chocolate selection box or a chocolate orange? This week Christophe Mallet & Pat Shaw analyse the incredible rise of Mathieu van der Poel, back to back victory for Julian Alaphilippe, fifth trophy for Anna van der Breggen, and what can we expect this weekend in Liège–Bastogne–Liège...
Join Rose Manley and Denny Gray at the conclusion of a rare double stage at the Tour de France Femmes which included a ferocious sprint and a vital individual time trial. We speak to riders about how they dealt with the double stage - a feature which hasn't occurred at the Tour de France since 1991. We also hear from the likes of Anna van der Breggen and Kasia Niewiadoma about the stage 3 time trial which might prove vital in the GC battle. Plus of course, we continue Denny's quest to find more delicious local cheese and discuss which riders are worthy of the ‘Big Cheese' title. We're dragging listeners back to Italy as The Cycling Podcast Féminin tackles the Giro d'Italia Women, which was won in spectacular fashion by Elisa Longo Borghini. Rose Manley is joined by Denny Gray and special guest ex-Olympian Joanna Rowsell to pull out all the biggest headlines from the race. For our mini feature, we use the anticipated return of Anna van der Breggen to the women's peloton as a springboard to find out what it takes to retire from racing and come back. Rose speaks to Ruth Edwards née Winder who retired in the same year as Van der Breggen only to return this season in flying form, already claiming a title in Thüringen and two podium finishes at the Giro. Edwards' breakthrough wasn't the only story of the race as the second Grand Tour of the women's calendar proved to be every bit as thrilling and hard-fought as it had promised. We witnessed the birth of a new rivalry between eventual winner Elisa Longo Borghini and all-round superstar Lotte Kopecky who trailed the Italian by only one second going into the final day. There was plenty of interest elsewhere as well with seven different teams sharing the stage victories at the race and the emergence of some new names to the roll of honour. In this month's episode of Féminin, Rose Manley, Denny Gray and Orla Chennaoui cast their eyes over recent racing at the Tour de Suisse and come dangerously close to speculation as they ponder what it might mean for the year's biggest races and beyond. Demi Vollering's winning run shows no signs of letting up after taking three stages and the overall win at the Tour de Suisse. But how much could her expected departure from SD Worx at the end of the season stifle her ambitions? And who are her likely rivals? Plus, this month's mini feature follows four riders and their changing fortunes at the Tour of Britain Women. We hand the microphone over to SD Worx super domestique Christine Majerus, DSM-firmenich road captain Pfeiffer Georgi, youngest rider in the race Eilidh Shaw and Lucy Harris, a full time meteorological data scientist competing at her first ever WWT race. And lastly we look ahead to the forthcoming women's Giro d'Italia which hasn't been won by anyone other than Anna van der Breggen or Annemiek Van Vleuten since 2016. The route boasting time trials, sprints, hilly stages and a fearsome finish on Blockhaus, and with Demi Vollering not starting, we look at who might be capable of winning the maglia rosa. We discuss emerging talents Neve Bradbury and Kim Cadzow and Lidl-Trek's joint leaders of Elisa Longo Borghini and Gaia Realini.
