Décidément cette Vuelta 2025 fera parler d'elle. Le Tour d'Espagne aura vu quelques tourmentes la toucher. En effet, UAE a annoncé que ce dernier quitterait la formation à la fin de la saison, alors que l'Espagnol assure que cette annonce aurait dû être faite à la fin du dernier Grand Tour de la saison. Nog een dikke maand en dan zit het wielerseizoen er alweer op. Er ligt nog veel moois in het verschiet, maar we concentreren ons eerst op de wedstrijden en ontwikkelingen die momenteel gaande zijn. Pro-Palestina-aanhangers protesteerden daar tegen de genocide die plaatsvindt in Israël. De Vuelta-organisatie staat daardoor voor een moeilijke situatie. Vreemd genoeg riep technisch Vuelta-directeur Kiko García het ProTeam Israel-Premier Tech op om zich terug te trekken. De ploeg geeft daar geen gehoor aan. Terecht volgens onze verslaggevers Maxim en Youri. Zij vragen zich af of dit de protestanten stopt. Als ze er zijn om aandacht te vragen voor de genocide, zullen de demonstraties niet stoppen bij het uitsluiten van Israel-Premier Tech. Maar dat is onduidelijk.Het werpt wel een deken over de Vuelta, die daaronder echt heel leuk is om te volgen. De verschillen in het klassement zijn klein, er is de hele echec tussen UAE Emirates XRG en haar renner Juan Ayuso waar iedereen alles van mag weten en er is nogal wat klimwerk op komst. Kan Tom Pidcock een bedreiging zijn voor Jonas Vingegaard, of moet hij vooral naar João Almeida kijken? Welke ploegen zijn tot nu toe totaal onzichtbaar en hoeveel kansen er nog zijn voor Mads Pedersen, op voorhand toch een van de mannen voor de vlakkere ritten.
