This week we went to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Halethorpe, Maryland. We met up with Todd Perkins and Sean Brennan for what is on the horizon with Guinness in Baltimore. We discussed their recent announcement that they would be moving the production of Guinness Blonde to another facility; however, the innovation brewery, tap room and restaurant will all remain operational. Additionally, we got a preview of what they have planned for the their 5th anniversary and Octoberfest this year. In 2008, he founded the Columbus Idea Foundry, which has recently moved into a new and larger space, becoming the largest makerspace in the country. It is an anchor for the redevelopment of the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, and an important part of the Columbus entrepreneurial ecosystem.
